Tim is a miracle worker. I got probably one of the worst hair cuts I’ve ever received from another place. I thought there was no hope for me and my hair. It was already way shorter than I wanted with awful layers. I wanted a cut that didn’t take anymore length off and made things look better, but I was skeptical that anyone could do that. The salon replied to my email in a day and scheduled me for the next day. I got there and they were professional and so sweet. When Tim saw my hair, he knew it was a disaster. But he fixed it and made it 150% better. I highly recommend the salon, especially for those with short hair that’s difficult to work with. Thank you all :))

I had Madison as my Hairdresser we did a cut and color. She did an Amazing job. The front desk ladies were so sweet and helpful. The entire length of my appointment ladies were cleaning up the areas which made the environment super clean and relaxing. Love this place! Everyone is soo beyond friendly and helpful.

Madisyn is wonderful! She is very skilled and listens to what you want. She has been doing my hair for two years now, and has consistently delivered beautiful results. Today I came in with a few photos, gave her some loose parameters, and said “I trust your judgement”. She did not disappoint! Austral’s atmosphere is nice and welcoming, and after years of searching I finally found a hair dresser and place that I “click” with.

Kortney is the absolute best! Anytime I need a last-minute cut or color, she immediately finds a place for me on the calendar. Where I found it difficult in the past with other stylists to get an appointment sometime for weeks at a time, Kortney is always accommodating, and the results are always amazing. Great conversationalist, comfortable environment, attentive to my hair needs and provides knowledgeable hair tips for long term care. She always gets it right! 10/10 recommend!

I always have a great experience at this salon. It’s very clean and has a spa vibe. My hair stylist, Kourtney always knows the healthiest way to give me what I want for my hair and makes it look amazing. It’s a bit pricey but worth it.

Kortney did my hair today!! She did amazing and I am so happy with the results. I am a natural brown and I’ve been blonde for 4 years. I was wanting a change and I was wanting to go back brown, however the pictures I sent in were pretty dark which called for a drastic change. Kortney explained lowlights to me instead of just dying my hair brown and I am so happy that she was able to use her professional experience to help me achieve the results that I wanted and would be best for my hair! She kept some of that blonde in my hair and gave my hair great dimension and I am beyond happy!!

They are such unprofessional people.I had scheduled my appointment with Kortney for a hair cut and hair color but I had to reschedule my appointment twice ( first one due to my little daughter got cold and she was home with me and 2nd one due to I tested covid positive). They were both genuine reasons and I never cancelled it , both the times I have rescheduled.They are such unprofessional they cancelled my appointment and reluctant to provide me another appointment EVER. I don’t know what’s wrong but this is highly unprofessional was never experienced this kind of behavior in USA in any of the places.Thanks

Kortney is a wonderful stylist. I wouldnt go anywhere else for her services. I drive an hour and a half because shes so great. Best Brazilian blow out ever! Plus, her cutting and styling skills are crazy good! Shes fun and not afraid to take risks if thats what you are looking for. P.S., if you want a short haircut, Tims your man. He has perfected all hair short for over 30 years. Wow factor!

Austral is the best. I always look forward to my appointments. I could not imagine anyone but Tim cutting my hair. Absolutely love this place so clean and friendly and Lindsay is amazing one of the best hair styles I have been to in years. She is also amazing with kids. my 3 year daughters hair was cute by another child while with a baby sitter and it was horrible mind you my daughter was very upset that she had to have her hair cut to get it fixed because her hair was now going to be very short compared to her long hair that was all most to her butt. Lindsay was able to talk with her and play with her made her feel very comfortable and but a smile on her face all while cutting her hair and even though it is now very short it look super cute and you can no longer tell that her hair was Butchered by another child.

The cut I got was not the cut I requested at all. I felt like my description was simple, and I even showed her a picture of the cut I had had previously. All I needed was a trim and a shape up, and thats not what I got at all. Nice staff, but an extremely poor quality cut. Wont be going there again.

Austral Salon was my last stop in my hunt for an outstanding hair salon. These guys are color professionals. I have never received highlights like they offer at Austral, either.Id like to encourage you to forge a relationship with one of the professional stylists at Austral. They are the best in town.

I have been getting my hair cut and colored at Austral since I moved to Columbia 23 years ago. They are always responsive, on time and at the top of their game. I am always happy with the results.

I have tried several salons since moving to Columbia. Im happy to report Ill be staying at Austral. I have been extremely pleased with the cut I received from Tim Shealy, and have gotten numerous compliments from friends and strangers on my fabulous new hairdo. Tim was knowledgable and friendly and the rest of the staff was very courteous. Definitely a five star operation!

Anyone wanting/needing foils, do yourself a favor and book with Madyson at Austral Salon. So about the salon itself ... The vibe when I entered Austral was calm, professional, and happy. I saw the young lady at the front desk wipe down the pens multiple times. There was plenty of soap and hand sanitizer on the tables. I’ve always loved the windows and natural light. Great space. About the stylist..Madyson’s abilities are second to none, and she’s so pleasant to talk to during my almost two hour foil sessions. She takes her time from the beginning of the appointment to the end. I’ve never felt rushed or hurried like I have at other places around the area. I’ve seen her a dozen times or so for full or partial foils, and I have had a few haircuts from her as well. She never gets “scissor happy”(which, if you have long hair, you can appreciate!) Can’t say enough about Madyson! She’s awesome :)

This salon had a nice atmosphere and the stylist that did my hair was so nice! However I am not very happy with my hair color. I wanted to go back blonde and was told that was a process (totally understand) and I knew that going in, but I asked to blend my roots, and I still have terrible roots. It doesn’t even look like My hair was colored except and few thick highlights. My cut is very nice though, just not happy at all with the color.Update: they have schedule me to come back in and are so nice and accommodating!!!

Austral is awesome! I always get very good device and exactly what I ask for. When my first stylist moved away I switched to another in the same salon and there was no change in the quality of service -- rare! The products they use and sell are designed with the health of your hair in mind. Plus, for a place thats so upscale theyre very approachable and welcoming; in the year Ive been going here Ive never once gone and not been asked if I wanted a coffee or water.

Guys, if you’re looking for a stylist at austral salon. I recommend you not book an appointment with MADISYN BRAZELL - an “inexperienced” hair stylist, rude to customers.She did my daughters hair, but it was completely unlike the hair color my daughter wanted and they charged $346. So expensiveAnd once she texted the stylist MADISYN to asked her adjust it like the color my daughter wanted but she doesn’t respond and blocked my daughter’s account.I dont understand what that attitude to the customer?I request the owner of the austral salon to reconsider the staff! because i know this is a nice salonand there should not be a rude staff with customers, and I sincerely ask you to adjust my daughters hair.

Kortney is my go to and has been for several years. I was so thankful to have been able to find someone who understands my hair and cuts it exactly the way I like every time. She is a total confidence booster! Kortney was out of town this time and I was in desperate need for a cut. Tim stepped in and did a fabulous job! Best place Ive ever found in Columbia! Ive being going to Kortney for the past 5 years and Ive never left unhappy! She was the only person I trusted to do my hair on my wedding day and as always, she exceeded all expectations. You wont find a better place with nicer people. Austral is truly an A+ salon!

Upscale salon, quality products, multiple stylists to choose from, no high pressure sales. Clean and well maintained facility. Upon check in youre offered a beverage and a robe to protect your clothes from color if needed. They take a few more steps towards customer satisfaction that alot of other salons dont.

Madisen did the best job on my hair. Ulta salon did a horrible job and my hair looks amazing after 2 hours of fantastic work, my hair looks and feels wonderful. I think for the first time ever, i have a regular hair dresser.

I have been going to Austral Salon for several years, ever since I moved to Columbia from the Upstate. For the past 3-4 years I have had Heather as my stylist and I could not be more pleased. The new location on Beltline is bright and open and Heather is always ready for me - I never have to wait more than 5 minutes to go back. The girls that work the front desk are always very nice and welcoming as well. I would highly recommend Austral!

I’ve never been to austral and not gotten my hair exactly how i wanted. it may be pricier but if you want good hair you have to pay it.

Unprofessional and completely unreliable. I scheduled to have a trial and final look for bridal styling. My trial was cancelled the night before my appointment via text. I confirmed multiple times with the salon that my final bridal appointment was still in place.Today, I was called TWO DAYS BEFORE MY WEDDING to be informed that the stylist I was booked with has never done bridal hair. I was asked to come in 6 hours before my ceremony instead of my original time so that the inexperienced stylist I was scheduled with could have help from an experienced stylist.No apology was given, and I was shushed on the phone and berated by an angry older woman insisting that it was better for me to come in for my hair 6 hours prior to my wedding to do curls that will be exposed to 100 degree heat. Absolutely rude and unprofessional, acted like being cancelled on two days before my wedding was “tough shit”. I’m blown away by how unprofessional this experience was.

Austral is amazing! A friend recommended it to me a couple years ago and its been my only salon that I go to when Im in Columbia! My usual stylist is Emily (but they are all great)! Emily is a color genius and can basically make anyone look good in any color. I trust her and her skills enough to come in and just ask her what direction she thinks I should go because her recommendations are always sound!I also love this place because they are so customer service oriented and they dont try to aggressively push their products on you (which really saves you from awkward declinations, not that they are bad products but if youre on a college budget its a splurge). They always offer you a beverage (tea, coffee, wine 🙂) and if you have to wait its never long. Definitely recommend 👍🏼
