So Im a yoga newbie. I tried very light yoga almost a decade ago and enjoyed it. I ran into Kim, the owner, on a particularly stressful day. She told me about her studio and suggested I give it a try to relieve my anxiety. I am SO GLAD I took her up on it! I just returned home from my 3rd class in 2 days.My very first session was a hot one. The room is heated to around 105 degrees Fahrenheit for this particular class. The class started out nice and slow, then increased in both intensity and difficulty. I have literally never gotten my body to feel so good in such a short amount of time. Some of the poses and activities were tricky for a first timer, but there was absolutely no issue when I needed to return to a seated position and regain my cool. As the session ended, stepping out of that room and into the 97 degree Brazos Valley ambient heat and perceiving it as cold was mind blowing. Your body is LITERALLY more energized than the atmosphere that surrounds you at this point. My second session was this morning. The practice is called Yin. This class was much more suitable for a brand new Yogi. It was almost entirely seated, and Kim was nice enough to incorporate some of the Yoga Nidra that Im so fond of at the very end of the session. It gave my day a much needed kickstart. My third and most recent session was called Flow. The room isnt heated, and was a happy medium between hot yoga and Yin. This class was lead by a young man named Isaac, who absolutely killed it.While Isaac was phenomenal, Id like to take the time to explain just how awesome Kim is. Ive gathered that she teaches a majority of the classes, and she definitely runs the establishment by herself. She built the (beautiful and mobile optimized) company website herself, she cleans the facility by herself, and Id wager she handles nearly every bit of marketing and customer service herself as well.I met with Kim at the studio in person before my first session. I detailed some health problems of mine, including type 1 diabetes, anxiety and clinical depression, and several leg injuries. Either Im experiencing some confirmation bias, or she is legitimately tailoring parts of her classes to specifically meet my needs. She will (literally) bend over backwards to earn your business. The facility is beautiful and feels like home. The classes dont get any larger than a dozen people or so, so it is very intimate feeling. Floors, walls, and glass always clean. There is a private bathroom, free cold water, and loaner mats. All you need to bring with you to The Yoga District is your body and an open mind. This is truly a judgement-free safe space with a hell of a staff that wants what is best for you. They helped me, a masculine-conservative-out-of-shape couch potato, feel and sleep the best I have in months, maybe years. If I could live here, I would.Namaste.

Today was my first session of Yin and first real yoga class ever, and I was completely satisfied with the experience from start to finish. The studio itself is perfectly designed, tastefully decorated, and quietly tucked away from the busyness of University Drive. The floor to ceiling windows let in the perfect amount of natural light, and the dark, neutral color scheme is soft on the eyes and mind. The session I attended was a form of seated yoga (Yin), and it was the perfect starting point for someone who has only ever attempted yoga on their living room floor at the direction of YouTube videos. The instructor for the session (and owner), Kim, was fantastic. Both her presence and voice make for a very calming experience, with just the perfect amount of guidance. I felt very comfortable yet appropriately challenged throughout the session.Water, mats, and other equipment necessary for the session were available for everyone. The music was at the perfect volume, and matched the flow very well.I left this session feeling more relaxed than Ive been in quite some time, but simultaneously energized physically and mentally. My aches and pains are even feeling better after just one day. I will absolutely be back for some of the other classes offered here!If youre looking for a laid back, meaningful, worthwhile yoga experience, I highly recommend trying The Yoga District!

Absolutely superb. Small classes, the instructors see everyone and help or correct if needed. I am in town for a few weeks for work, they know I am not a long term client, but treat me grandly. I am a relative beginner, they are kind, helpful and encouraging. If my work brings me back to College Station, I will definitely come back.

I really love this yoga studio. Kim, the owner, is fantastic. Not only is she very friendly and flexible with their specials, but she has one of the most soothing voices for yoga instruction. All of the instructors are great. They pay attention to each persons needs, walk you through a great yoga session, and consistently choose excellent instrumental music for getting into the flow.

I am sad that I only found out about this studio during my last semester... Wouldve gone here all 4.5 years if I had known about it from the start! The instructors are great and its a friendly environment. I should note that the semester pass is a 3 month pass if youre a student looking for a membership. Didnt know that when I signed up, but wasnt an issue for me. Although yoga at the student Rec Center is cheaper, I found that the quality of the classes at the Yoga District is well worth the price difference. You can get one class free off their website, so no reason not to try. Highly recommend!

I only started yoga for the first time 2 months ago at The Yoga District and I love it! I am so happy that my friends recommended this place because it is more than I expected. I was pretty apprehensive before my first class that I wouldnt even like yoga, let alone want to spend the money at a studio. I am an out of shape vet student so I was afraid that the athletic, perfect-bodied yogis would intimidate me. Surprisingly (and luckily for me), I became addicted to yoga within my first week and all those fears were set aside.I really think the reason I am enjoying it so much is because of the atmosphere at The Yoga District. The instructors are so kind, non-judgmental and good at their craft that it really does encourage you to be your best. Other members are so positive and encouraging that any fears that I would not fit in were quickly set aside. Also, there are a wide variety of classes so if you dont like a class or maybe it is more than you anticipated, you can always try others. I feel like there are classes that will work for anyone of any body type, body shape, age, ect. Everyone can find something that works for them here :)The best part is that classes at The Yoga District fit into my small budget as a student. They have military and student discounts as well which is also nice. Also, they offer deals and specials for new members which helps a ton too. I highly recommend this place for both well-versed yogis and people who just want to try it out.

My husband and I visited this studio a few times over Thanksgiving break and absolutely loved the classes, studio space and people. If we lived in College Station this would be a studio we would practice at on a weekly basis. Highly recommend!

I absolutely LOVE The Yoga District. Kim is such a fantastic instructor and truly loves everyone that comes through the door. Classes are on the smaller side so you get a more personal experience. Definitely my favorite studio I’ve been to. Can’t wait to go back for another class!

I started yoga at this location almost 2 months ago, and I became addicted immediately, which is rare for me! I usually have to force myself to exercise but I look forward to every single class and Im really seeing the improvement and even noticing changes in my body. The instructors are passionate, friendly, and skilled and the atmosphere is so cute and intimate. The clientele really feels like a community because of the smaller more intimate classes. They offer a variety of classes, both heated and non heated, as well as ballet barre classes. You will not find a better deal for unlimited yoga anywhere in town, and you sacrifice nothing for the lower prices. They also run specials often and have student/military/teacher/senior pricing, so check their facebook and web page to see what specials theyre having. The first class is free, so if you are considering trying out some yoga, definitely go by The Yoga District!!PS it is located directly behind the Fox and Hound on University East, because the map on google takes you to the wrong location, although the address is correct.
