I delivered my second child at Baylor Scott & White, and I was amazed with how comfortable my stay was compared to my first birth at a different hospital. I went into labor during the night and 6 other women walked into the ER in labor around the same time as I did. The hospital staff was incredibly overworked and there was a shortage on space due to the spontaneous burst of laboring women (combined with women that were already there). Despite the crazy workload, I was treated with such care, patience and attentiveness. My doctor was out of town, but the on-call doctor was wonderful. The nurses were the real superheroes that made my experience amazing. I cannot recommend bringing your little one into the world at Baylor Scott and White enough!

It has been a month, and I finally have the opportunity to write this. SHAME ON THIS HOSPITAL. My father was in the hospital dying and they limited our time with him when they KNEW he was dying. DOCTOR GRACE WILLIAMS SHAME ON YOU, I hope every night you go to sleep and think about what you did to my family. YOU LIED TO US. Told us that myself, my mom, and my brother could see my dad with no time limit and that we could all be in the room with him. When we got there the nurses told us that what the doctor said was a LIE. She lied to us when she knew he was dying, got our hopes up. Thankfully my mom and I got to see him for a little, but as soon as we left (because they made us) my dad passed away. Once he was gone that is when the hospital let us be with him with no time limit. REALLY??? Once my dad was gone we could see him? Thanks for that. My family will never forgive this hospital for taking our last moments with him. You hurt my mother so much by taking away her last moments with her spouse of 37 years. You hurt me and my brother for taking away our last moments with our dad. This hospital should not be able to do this to people. They are heartless and dont truly care about anyone. DO NOT TAKE YOUR FAMILY MEMEBERS HERE UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TO DIE ALONE!

I have been for things that were concerning but turned out not to be a true emergency and for a true emergency. The latter experience helped me appreciate even more why the I need to go to the ER but I am not on the brink of death visits can take so long or be unpredictable in how long you wait. In all cases, everyone I have dealt with has been super kind and professional, and we have never yet (knock on wood) had any of the problematic billing practices we have experienced with other hospital / ER visits. We ended up being admitted on our most recent visit and the entire experience was one that helped relieve the stress of a very stressful experience. We are very thankful to everyone who is there and would recommend this facility wholeheartedly.

First and foremost I use to love Scott & White now I avoid the ER at all cost. I recently became sick and my children started to get sick so I took them in to be checked out. It took them 4 hours just to get them back. When the doctor finally came in, he looked in their ears and mouth and watched them breathe. My daughter was belly breathing and crying complaining about her headache. The doctor says ok we got the test we needed earlier, should I send in some cough medicine? Never addressing her headache or giving her medicine…. Let’s back up, I also work at a hospital in the pediatric department so I know when it’s time to bring my kids to doctor and what signs to look for. But the doctor was only in the room for 5-10 minutes. Wait time was way to long just to be seen all of 10 minutes.

Worse ER visit I have ever experienced in my life. Nurses were rude & not very caring. Admitting nurse very loud in letting everyone in the waiting room know that a husband & wife that was there to be seen had COVID. That is a HIPPA violation. I know that the entire hospital staff is under a lot of stress due to COVID but there is absolutely no reason to treat people SO badly when they are sick & in pain. I was in a lot of pain but I was still pleasant & polite for the 4 hours I was there. To make things worse I will be receiving a bill for all of this awful treatment. Think twice about going to this Baylor Scott & White.Baylor Scott & White ~ do not respond to me with your prewritten response like you have with everyone else on here. We sat 5 hours waiting to see a dr, my husband could not breathe right. We left and went to a different hospital, he was admitted for a severe case of covid pneumonia. I was in a car accident with my 20 month old on Thursday. We live out of town and we’re taken to this hospital via ambulance. The ER staff was amazing and helped me cope with the recent trauma as well as comfort my son by providing him with stuffed animals and books. However, because my car was totaled and insurance hadn’t set up a rental for me I was left waiting for a family member to come get me from several hours away. I wasn’t informed that once I left I could not reenter the building.I was discharged from the ER at 1:20. I took my son outside to their garden area so he could play. I had no water with me and only two bags of snacks. When I attempted to reenter the building and asked to used the restroom I was told to leave and walk across the road to find an office building that might let me in.My ride finally arrived at 5:30. I was left outside with my toddler for that four hour stretch in close to 90 degree weather. I had to change my son’s diaper on a concrete pathway. I’m glad I am still breastfeeding because otherwise he would have had nothing to drink since our accident at 11:15 that morning. I’m glad I had snacks for him. I had no food since before the accident. This rule is dangerous (as another reviewer pointed out).

I originally loved baylor scott and white but as of recent their staffing has terrible attitude. They charge you hundreds for the smallest thing. Financial assistance leaves you on red for hours(I was on hold for 3 hours as they kept transferring and hanging up on me. Issue was never solved.) only labor and delivery is 9/10 with really good nurses although they have a lot of understaffed employees especially the doctors. Go on your own risk, you can have a good or bad experience.

My grandmother passed away in ICU and I wasn’t able to say goodbye. I understand the precautions taken due to Covid but these doctors and nurses can’t get their stories straight. One day they didn’t think my grandmother would make it through the night and told us if the family came down they would make an exception and allow all of us in the room to say goodbye. The next day she was stable and by the time the family got there they were only letting one person in a day and the next day she was gone. I traveled from out of town to say goodbye to my grandmother and they wouldn’t let me and my mom in together to say goodbye because at the current moment, her vitals were stable even though we were told the night before that the doctor didn’t think she would make it through the night And then she had a 50/50 chance the next night. They couldn’t make an exception because she wasn’t dying at the current moment. How is a 50-50 chance at life not dying?!?!This was the most torturous hospital trip my family has gone through and I will never forgive them for not letting me say goodbye

The over all care of this place is great. However this place has some very dangerous rules that could cause someones life or injuries that NEED to be changed. I took my dad to the ER for very low blood pressure. He ended up getting admitted for irregular heart patterns. My dad has severe anxiety about hospitals due to past trauma and is also very disabled being legally blind and having mobility issues. He also has problems communicating the proper answers to the doctor’s questions. So needless to say I cannot leave him alone for hours despite there being nurses who are supposed to help him. They are not around all the time and have other patients as well so they cannot provide the around the clock care he needs even while being in the hospital. Now I myself, have severe anemia and bad allergies that can get bad if not treated. We were not expecting my father to get admitted so neither of us had the medicine I need if my iron were to drop or my airways were to close due to an allergic reaction. I keep my medicine at all times in my car for emergencies. However I was told that if I left to go get my medicine that was twenty feet away in the car because we weren’t expecting to be admitted, that we would not be allowed back for twenty four hours. I could not leave my father for that long! It took around midnight for the nurses to see me visibly having difficulty breathing properly that they got me clearance to leave and get my medicine but on the idea that would be my one time I was allowed to leave for the next day so the next 24 hours I would not be allowed to leave and come back.Next I find out that they only feed visitors one meal aday. I guess that makes sense but with my dad needing around the clock care and the rule in place that I could not leave to feed myself without forfeiting the ability to take care of my dad for that day because I would not be allowed back and no funds in my bank account, because my dads care is expensive, to order anything delivery, I was left severely anemic and to starve. This rule is dangerous. I understand the need for it because of covid but I believe special exceptions should be made for patients needing their caregivers to stay with them for around the clock care because the nurses have other patients and cannot provide it. My life was made a complete disregard because of this rule and can be a major liability for the hospital. Something needs to be done before someone gets hurt or worse. We just moved and and have no-one to bring us food or medicine so if I am to fall ill because of me not being able to take care of my basic needs due to this rule then it would be entirely on the hospital and could be a major law suit. I dont want it to get this far because we are very happy with the care and respect my father was shown. But this hospital needs to think about how dangerous that rule can be. Please do something about it before you end up with a lawsuit or worse someone ends up dead

The hospital is only into the money and they can always find their ways to bill you even for the services that are already fully covered by the insurance. They use different service codes to bill you and fool you. And the only answer youll get from their billing office is: this is how we bill. And there would be no further explanations. Very irresponsible.Their billing is definitely ridiculous and questionable. There are other good health providers in Bryan College Station area that bill you reasonably with transparency. All the nurses at the nurses station always had a smile on their face. The nurses gave my husband and I the password to the refreshment room in case they were to busy to satisfy our needs. Also the Ronald McDonald cart was amazing we got drinks and snacks off of that and the lady even gave my twin boys a book. Discharging is always the stressful part but the nurses made it super easy and the pharmacy brought my medication to me which was very shocking. Usually you have to go to the pharmacy yourself. The cafeteria would always call me and ask if I wanted to order food and I would tell them no and they would still make sure that I received my meal. Also the father of the baby receives one free meal everyday which is absolutely awesome. No other hospital will do that. This will definitely be my go to hospital.

One lady got in my face and told me “ listen to me. When we ask you a question you need to answer “ !!!!! I am having contractions at 2 minutes apart worst pain in my life can barely breathe, they need to be respectful and understand that its NOT easy to talk right away while your having a contraction! And also that morning i was having irregular contractions and i was told if they were irregular then they were the fake contractions, they were way off... my real contractions did not hit until 3 MINUTES apart, it all happened so fast whithin an hour .. and the nurses there kept making comments and did not believe that they started at 3 minutes apart. The nurses were basically rude the whole time i was in pain then got nice when i had the epidural because “i was easier to deal with” . They should be more patient when someone is in so much pain. And lastly I waited awhile for the doctor to do the epidural and when he came in setting up the stuff he was telling the nurse “ i had to make a quick stop at Chick-fil-a “ ..... while a pregnant women about to give birth is WAITING for you! 10/2/19 Update: The reply below is a canned comment that is just copied & pasted to any negative review they receive to make it appear that Baylor Scott & White is addressing complaints about their predatory business practices. I have requested an itemized bill and a copy of the charge master several times to see why I was charged an unreasonable amount for a 1-night hospital stay, but I have received neither. The representative who contacted me is just a customer service rep who parrots a script about no interest payment plans rather than actually addressing concerns about them overcharging patients for minimal care and staff pressuring patients to sign billing paperwork after-the-fact and without providing an estimate of services or while ignoring patient requests for information about care being forced on them.If you need help, do NOT go to Baylor Scott & White. They refuse to answer patients questions about charges and push diagnostics & treatment without consent. A hospital staff member told me that I would receive financial assistance and not have to pay the full amount in an attempt to pressure me to sign a consent form after the fact. Now, Im being charged thousands of dollars for diagnostics I didnt need and which I did not consent to receive. If you are in a bad place and/or suicidal, stay away from these people. They will screw over your finances.

In the mean time my daughter was in the waiting room telling some person at the window that her mom was just brought in and she needed to get back to me and I had ask the nurse to go get my daughter in the waiting room. Ok, yes my blood pressure was way over 200. They gave me some medicine and took my blood and ran another EKG. I take it everything looked fine on it. So, this other doctor came in and talked to me and made me think I was going home. He left and then an hour later came in and told me they were admitting me because my heart was producing blood clotting factors. So, I waited another 3 hours in the ER, waiting for a room to become available. My nurses were great though. While I was waiting in my ER room the cardiologist came and scared the you know what out me talking about stick catheter s in my veins so they can look at my heart. My daughter wasnt there and I almost cried and I wanted to leave. I told them the next day I didnt want the catheter and I was ready to go home after they ran blood thinner and the respiratory therapist came in my room every 4 hours and they took my blood every 4 hours. I was ready to go home and rest. I think the next time I have a bad asthma attack,Im staying home.

I spent a few hours trying to have my girlfriend examined for stomach pain. They sent us home with orders to make an appointment with a gastro ASAP but the physician forgot to actually send the referral. I have spent the last hour trying to get this fixed but was essentially told I have to make another appointment and spend more money to get a new referral from a different doctor. I dont understand the logic behind refusing to schedule someone because an in house physician screwed up but thank you for making my life just that little bit more difficult. Lesson learned, always demand a physical copy of a referral. At least the nursing staff was helpful.

Love this place, it is new, and it is Scott and White-which is awesome. Only gave a 4 stars because of billing. The hospital charged the wrong insurance 1 too many times, fixed now. Just be sure you check before walking out door.I see Dr. ANDERSON, in the pain clinic,3rd floor. He has such an excellent bed side manner, and you dont see too many of those anymore. DR. ANDERSON, talks to your person not an ipad as most doctors do now adays. I appreciate him and his staff. His nurse is very courtesy and smiles often, and the staff that works in the injection room, could smile MORE, but overall do their job well. Thank you

Nurses are great and genuinely care about their patients; surgery was delayed a bit but it was expected due to surgery before us; parking was ample so there was no problem walking into the hospital. Overall it is a great medial facility and they have good doctors.

Saturday my mother began having numbness in her right leg and could no longer raise from sitting, stand or walk. After being promised by a PA, nurse and physician that they would find out what was going on and she would not be leaving until they had, she was abruptly discharged as soon as they ruled out stroke to be sent home unable to care for herself, not knowing what was happening or if it would get worse.

My daughter went to the clinic for UTI and saw a physicians asst. Paid her $30 copay as expected. Two months later I received a bill for ADDITIONAL $20 because they were billing the Physicians Asst as a SPECIALIST. First of all, a PA isnt even an MD, let alone a SPECIALIST. She didnt see a specialist, which is why she was only charged the $30 copay. They fraudulently billed as a Specialist AFTER the fact. I called their billing thinking it would be an easy fix. They were EXTREMELY rude like they were bill collectors, and refused to fix it. So I called my insurance to help me. United Health Care (my insurance) agreed with me that it was incorrect and fraudulent to charge Specialist fee for a PA. My UHC put me on a 3 way call to straighten it out and again, billing was VERY rude to us and told us we had to call the clinic. My UHC rep then called clinic, which then said, we cant change this you need to speak to billing. We were caught in a loop but my UHC rep was SO patient and SO good that she kept trying. Almost 2 hours later, a sane person spoke to us and said they would get back to us after looking into it. They did call about 2 hours later but unfortunately they called my daughter since she was the patient. They told her they would remove the $20 over charge. She didnt get the name of the caller since shes only 19 and didnt realize how important that name would be. Well here I am 2 months later getting an OVER DUE bill for the $20 fraudulent charge. Im having to start the whole process over again. United Health Care advised me to never use this clinic again since this billing practice seems to be unscrupulous. I spoke to my Aggie Parent Group about this and several parents have had almost identical experiences. If this PA was truly a Specialist, they would have charged the $50 Specialist copay from beginning so they KNOW what they are doing. They bill you later hoping youll just pay and this is so dishonest. I advise you to NEVER use BSW because you never know what kind of bill you will receive after the fact!!

Went to this hospital yesterday 11/1/18 at approximately 12:45, got checked in and was waiting for about 30min. Another gentleman came in after me, waiting less than 5min and went straight to the back. I still waited to be called on. After about 15 more min I then got called to the back to get triage. While I’m the back in the triage area , I didn’t get my vitals taken , I then went back into the room were I waiting for until 220 without even being seen. I understand it’s a hospital and they were probably working on other patients but what big hospital like this have all the doctors tied up when their was only 1 person in the waiting area. I will NEVER go to this hospital again. I then got frustrated because I was in so much pain and left. I explain to the people up front that my blood pressure was high and I didn’t even get my vitals checked and he didn’t even apologize, he just said ok. Billions of dollar hospital with crappy employees, no wonder y their never packed. DONT GO TO THOS HOSPITAL.. if I could give no star they wouldn’t have the one I gave them..

I had to wait 2to 3 hours to get a bed from the ER and then the Doctor did not like my arguing with her who when she dicharged me had bad bedside manners and took 3 hours to be discharged. most all staff under 30 only one older nurse. It seemed or felt like if you complained they held a grudge. As the lady wheeled me out no one recognized me and wished me well. The only reason given a three is the antibiotics worked. Oh they had a few I heard that were sick from Hospital bacteria per a Senior Staff and that was his answer. I still am not out of the woods but they gave stronger Meds. Ist time I went to ER they prescribed loer antibiotic and got worse but second ER PA was great.

If you’re looking to not have your day ruined do not go to Josie G. the secretary at the Baylor S&W clinic between the blood drawn clinic and the therapy counseling. She’s a horrible person that should not be working around people especially since she does not show patient care or sympathy.

Scott & White has some of the most professional employees and not only at the College Station Hospital and clinic but at all their clinics and hospitals. I for one know much better than most unfortunately.I wouldnt even consider going anywhere else unless something life threatening came up but Id have another hospital to stabilize me and transfer me.Only reason they didnt get 5 stars is because even though they have some of the best doctors, and therfore the best hospitals as a whole, they have the worst food of MANY other hospitals i have eaten from. Dont know if itd the food they have delivered, a recipe they all go by our what but last time i stayed in Temple for 4 weeks i lost 27lbs because i had to ask people to bring me food in. I wouldnt eat ANYTHING!! Lol but its still the only hospital id go to.

We had a big scare when our toddler fell from a decent height. When I got the call to meet at the ER I got there first and went in to alert the staff of what happened and to be expecting my child to enter in a few minutes. I was expecting to have to wait, sign papers, deal with switching insurances, or even the we cant start anything until the patient is here feedback. But none of that happened, the person immediately alerted the staff and by the time my little one got there, we walked straight to a room without any issues. The single most thing that I cant thank S&W for enough was presence and attention. There was 11, not 2 or 3, 11 medical members in the room working in such an orchestrated, professional manner. Between two nurses they stayed with us every second and held onto our childs head to secure it for over 2 and a half hours (literally, they wouldnt leave for anything until they got the all clear from radiology, pediatrics, and another doctor). I dont know if we got lucky or if S&W impowers their staff this way but they took charge like any parent could hope for. There was no confusion, no fuss, and if something wasnt just perfect, the RNs made it right and also followed through. We literally get like we had the whole hospitals attention and concern. The staff members were passionate, they cared, they wanted to be there. I didnt want or need the cheerleader telling me it was going to be ok, dont worry; as a parent to be able to just step back and know your child is in the best hands, I cant ask for anything more. As scared as I was, this teams character and poise gave me such relief. This wasnt our first time at S&W and honestly, I cant find a single negative thing to say. Our previous expirence was just as impressive. Ive been to other ERs in the area and Ive said this before, no matter what we will go the longer distance to get to S&W every time.

I was instructed by my general practitioner to go to Baylor Scott and White College Station. I have had intestinal problems for over 20yrs. I went to my doctor on Monday and he put me on 2 strong antibiotics and a steriod to protect the liver from whats going on in my intestines. Long story short I have been passing watery black stools for over a week. The antibiotics arent helping, not much anyhow. They only did a Ct scan and my Dr specifically said I needed to be admitted and have a colonoscopy. They were told to call him, they did not. The nurses were great but they were understaffed and couldnt keep up or spend to much time gathering background info for the doctor. So when the doctor came in to give me the results of my abnormal Ct scan but not abnormal enough to admit me per his report, I spoke in depth in tears begging for admission and a colonoscopy that is what my doctor wanted me to have done when I went there in the first place. The doctor and the hospital administrator said even though Im passing blood and pus every 15 mins, they wouldnt admit me to do a colonoscopy. My General physician is shocked to say the least. I dont have insurance and my husbands new job benefits wont kick in for 90-120 days. I could have a perforated bowel, kink in my intestines and I know I have diverticulosis. I asked plain as day so youre sending me home when you can get emergency Medicaid benefits for me when Im bleeding and havent slept in days and cant keep food down at all. Goes right thru me within 15 mins of eating and i continue to go until Im empty. He said yes your not losing enough blood and your not too dehydrated. They gave me two lommotil which one would normally stop a train up, it did nothing. I had to have the nurse come and unhook me from machines IV etc 12 times in 6 hrs. And 6 of those times were after the lommotil. Ive never been treated so unfairly. I could lose my life due to their greed. Ive never hurt so bad and never had cramps like this and I had a c section in 1995 that the epidural didnt work, Im no wimp to pain. I havent slept in days only 1 night for A week. This horrible hospital sent me home knowing I could be dead in a matter of days if I have a perforation or even worse colon cancer. I wouldnt send my worst enemy there. Period.

I had an upper GI endoscopy performed at this hospital. I was a little hesitant about the doctor (Dr. Tony Yusuf) since he had schooling outside the US. My wife and baby daughter waited for me in the room until the procedure was finished. They had me lay on my left side, and thats about all I remember. After waking up from anesthesia my left knee and rib area hurt. I didnt think much of it until I got home. The pain persisted for about a week and got worse. I decided to get an x-ray through Dr. Kory Gills office, Central Texas Sports Medicine. They confirmed a non-displaced fracture to my 3rd rib and clavicle. I explained to Dr. Gill that I had a recent procedure, and he agreed with me that they probably were the cause of my injury. I called the hospital to complain, but they did nothing. The only thing they gave me was a bill for my procedure. Stay far away from these people... A young healthy male like myself shouldnt walk out of a simple procedure like that with broken bones. Im in my 30s and played football in school, never had a broken bone...

If I could go back and give chi st. Joes a lesser rating I would due to them not being as proactive in trying to find the cause of my stomach issues. They were nice, but had they done a CT I wouldve been well over this. I was suffering and pretty much prepared myself to die bc I have been so sick from...an ulcer. I was sooo tired. Thank you to the staff and Dr. Aisha Superwoman Jennings for ordering the CT scan and the meds she prescribed me has been a miracle. The Pepcid is doing its work though itll be a while before Im completely well again. Bailey the nurse is wonderful she came in and found a vein with a quickness...I had been dehydrated. The previous lady poked me and lets just say it hurt, Im happy she didnt poke me again lol. Also there was a blond haired lady who checked me in she was kind as well. Now I can see a Gastroenterologist. Overall BSW is a clean facility with exceptional professionals from the transporters to the doctors. They really, really came through and I am so blessed that they took all the steps to find out what had been wrong with me for a month and a half. Cheers to better health! Thank you very much for seeing me as a person. Sometimes all you need is a second opinion or a fifth one.
