When I took my mother to a dentist covered on her Medicare Advantage plan, I could tell they were trying to sell me a bill of goods regarding my mothers health just to ring the cash register so I left there with having no intentions on putting half down for a deep clean which was not covered by Medicare and I would have to pay out of pocket) and I knew my mother did not need nor had ever been required. While she might be 94, she is a retired dental hygienist and still takes care of her full set of teeth she still has to this day. Today was the first time visiting Hooks and they are a first class outfit. The dentist and her staff were professional and were so good with my mother. She had decay developing under a gold inlay and it would now require a crown. The doctor could say this was the only treatment plan but she didnt. She gave us all options from the least expensive (tooth extraction) to what could possibly be a root canal and new crown and how at any point we could change the treatment plan. I was appreciative of her candor with the pros and cons of all treatment plans and didnt feel like she was taken my wallet for a ride since my mother is a cash patient. I am very impressed and would recommend Hooks Family Dentistry to anyone with or without insurance. I look forward to my cleaning next month!

Okay, where do I start. Service is great all the staff is polite easy going. Front office very good people. Dr. Hooks is an amazing person great personality. Definitely knows what he is doing. Does great work and does not take short cuts. I hate teeth work. I should say I used to. Dr. Hooks does good work and has made me feel comfortable and knowing that the noise is just for the better. Dr. Hooks and his staff are amazing! Today was my 3rd visit with them. They are attentive to your needs and comfort which is a HUGE plus in my book. Today they did the ‘in-house’ crown on one of my teeth and I am totally impressed. This is a great Dr to see for many dental procedures. Definitely 5 🌟!

I have had many hygienists in my life but Megan is absolutely the best!! While I think some of my former hygienists over the years enjoyed inflicting pain on the patient, Megan is the complete opposite. Megan does a thorough cleaning and does not to cause her patients discomfort or pain. Dr. Hooks has a conservative approach to dental work and I love that also. They doubled the size of their practice and updated it. I like the remodel and the fact that it doesnt smell like a dentists office or that you can hear the sound of the drill when registering. 5 Stars all the way!!

I experienced a cracked tooth, called the office # on a weekend, got a call back same day from Dr. Hooks. I was seen the next day and got a crown too! WoW! Lightening Fast and So incredibly kind, courteous, and caring. I have been a patient for over nine years and will not go anywhere else.

Dr. Hooks is by far my favorite dentist I’ve ever had!!! And my hygienist Megan is pretty awesome as well!!! I hadn’t been to the dentist in years then I found them and best decision ever! And Tina at the front is great as well!!

They are thorough in everything they do and explain everything to the patient as they continue the treatment. Very friendly and always available to answer any question.

If I could give zero stars I would definitely do so. Do NOT go here for tmj pain or looking for answers to unorthodox mouth pain in general. I guess this establishment can only handle your basic cleaning needs. Dr. Hooks was very arrogant and rude as I sat in the chair in so much pain, desperate for answers. Only to be very insultingly told that ibuprofen and Tylenol would help with my jaw pain/discomfort (wow you don’t say 🙄) and as if his demeanor and complete lack of empathy toward my very painful situation weren’t enough, he sent me on my way with zero soliton , no X-rays, nothing but was really quick to charge me almost $100 just to insult my intelligence. Do not recommend and will most definitely NEVER return to this establishment.

I’ve been going here for over four years and have yet to have a bad experience. All of the dental hygienists I’ve had are wonderful and the office staff too!

Always impressed by the level of professionalism at every station from check-in to check-out including the actual dentistry and hygiene part. They have also done a great job with COVID preparation. For a guy who really doesnt like going to the dentist, they make it as pleasurable and efficient as it can be.

We retired in early 2018 and moved to College Station, and chose Dr Hooks based on outstanding reviews. The doctor and his staff have surpassed all expectations. We visit quarterly for cleaning and checkups. We’re always greeted with warm smiles by Cassandra and Office Manager Tina. Our hygienist Megan is ever so gentle and pleasant to chat with. I love this dentist practice! Our hygienist is so kind, she genuinely cares about my kids and keeps track of their health. Today she helped my anxious 9 year old feel comfortable going back all by herself (though you can certainly go with them, this was an important step for my child). Dr. Ryan Hooks is a wonderful dentist and extremely professional. I asked him several questions about the materials he uses for fillings. While most doctors would show frustration or belittle their patients concerns, Dr.Hooks answered my questions and addressed my concerns in a respectful and caring manner. He even reviewed the spec sheets for different materials with me. He was careful and thorough during the procedure, explaining each step. I will never go to another dentist. Dr. Hooks is the best!

Generally I have no problem with this Dentist but lately they seem to have issues with appointment times. I was rescheduled once and then when I showed up for my appointment that they rescheduled, they had cancelled my appointment. The girl at the front desk kept telling me she had a note from my phone saying I needed to reschedule yet she refused to show me any proof of this and she kept repeating that she had no openings for me. Luckily I had still kept my text messages from them and to them showing that I had never cancelled my appointment. Only after I insisted that she figure it out did I end up being seen. I understand mistakes are made but what is infuriating is when people lie to you stating they received a message from your phone when in fact they did not.

Always on time, thorough, professional and friendly. Angela does a fantastic job with the cleaning. Dr. Hooks recommends what is best and does not try to get you to pay for things you don’t need. The front desk ladies are sweet and kind. Our whole family goes there.

Wonderful office, state of the art facility. Loved how all “paperwork” was done using a computer to make it faster and easier. Hygienist was super friendly and let me know what she was doing before she did it. Also loved the TV’s on the ceiling and many flavors of cleaning paste, I got dream sickle, always been jealous of my kids when they go to dentist. Glad to see that I don’t have to suck it up as an adult and stare at my self threw their glasses any more.

I was hesitant to begin a search for a dentist, because I was new to the BCS area and had several poor dentists in the past, but Hooks Family Dentistry is amazing! The staff are super friendly and helpful. The facility is impeccably clean, and also kid-friendly (for those who have children).I went in after not seeing a dentist for a year because I thought I had cavities. They took four x-rays of my molars, and then gave me the option to take a panoramic x-ray (which my insurance didnt cover) to make sure all of my other teeth were okay as well. I wanted to be absolutely sure I had no cavities, so I consented, but Dr. Hooks generously waived the fee.Very happy to have found such a good dentist. High recommended.

My whole family goes to Dr. Hooks. Hes the kind of doctor that creates business for himself by establishing trust and not over-diagnosing. Ive gotten second opinions from him when other dentists told me I needed work done and hes always been much more conservative. I trust him to make the right diagnosis but not to try to get some extra cash by saying you have extra cavities when you dont.

So far they have been able to fix my broken implant crown. Will update once I get the permanent crown put on.Forgot to update: they did great work got the permanent after only a couple weeks and it works and looks great.

We received a pitiful level of service and unsatisfactory response to a complaint due to this offices lack of communication skills. My college student had a toothache. She had not been to the dentist in a couple of years so she called to schedule a checkup. The dentist charged a rate of $200 for her checkup (ins + out of pocket). The checkup did NOT include a full examination, nor did it include a cleaning. They merely looked at her toothache, told her she needed a root canal that they could not provide services for and sent her on her way. When I called to complain about the lack of service received, I was not told how the situation would be made right. Instead, I was told that it was my students fault - she still has a toothache and no understanding of what other problems might exist.
