Recently adopted a new dog from SPCA. I found the adoption process painless. They were very picky about where the be dog was placed, including verifying my ability to have pets in my home. I was also not allowed to take her home until she was spayed. Great rules! Love this place! Amazing to their animals!

This is Dixie Do. We got her last year from this shelter. She came from an abusive home where she obviously spent her days in a kennel and feared men. She has adjusted to our farm better than anyone could have expected. Loyal, kind, somehow knows how to herd cattle ( we didn’t spend any time or money teaching her) she is a natural. Loves farm life, loves hunting, and loves swimming...mostly swimming. Fits in perfect with our other four rescued family members. Thank you SPCA staff for this blessing. Keep up the outstanding work.

This shelter seems severly understaffed and short on space.At first glance, it appears that only a few workers are doing a majority of the work.Many of the dogs here seem very angry and irritable primarily from not getting ample exercise.Many of them are ready to get the hell out of dodgeThey seem to be getting food & water but nowhere near the time they need outside to roam, run or mingle with other dogs.If you are in the Bradley County area, please do your community a service by spending ONE hour a week exercising these sheltered dogs.

I went in to adopt a cat I had been fostering and everyone was so helpful and made the paper work so easy. Sam at the front desk was very sweet and helpful. They all do a good job getting the fur babies in their care into good homes.

My sister was diagnosed with terminal and could not care for the cats she had taken in when I got here from Texas to care for her I had to find them a place these people were more than glad to help me and have taking her cats and kittens to find them homes and it gave her peace of mind

Covid has things a little messed up . In all its a positive place for adopting pets.

They took care of my lost boy. But have your pet immediately treated for kennel cough. Most if not all kennels that take in strays, will have it. Bcspca was no different. Very contagious, he came home and my other 2 caught it from him very very fast. Not knocking them! Their CLEAN. Just a little advice.

The staff are amazing and take time for you even though they are just so so busy. They were great with our adoption of our little Dusty (madcap) even thought they were running around like crazy and didnt have enough hands on deck. Great people who could use more volunteers and a bigger center for sure.

SPCA of Bradley county is s great place to adopt a forever fur baby. I adopted two today. The animals are well cared for. I have a medium dog named Piper and a beautiful and sweet cat named Sugar. The woman (I did not catch her name) was incredibly over bearing and didn’t allow me and my roommates to actually touch the animals. She was helping a group of volunteer workers get assignments and kept leaving them to come correct me my group while look at the animals. She then scolded and reprimanded me and my group (in front of the volunteers) for “putting hands in the cages” when none of had stuck our hands or fingers inside of the fences. We felt very unwelcome and as if we were being overly watched for no reason and we also had no chance to form a bond with a puppy. So we left, and won’t be going back. We’ll buy a dog some other way, although we wanted to adopt.

This place is a huge rip off. My daughter let our dog last night and our dog snuck under the fence. SPCA ended up picking her up apparently. We called last night, no answer. We called first thing this morning when they opened and came by. The lady on the phone said all we needed to pick up OUR dog was pictures or vet records. We showed pictures, that didn’t suffice they wanted vet records. Now because we don’t have proof of a rabies shot and because she was picked up “as a stray” they won’t let us have OUR dog without paying $75. I have never heard of something so ridiculous. If you want a donation just say so instead of holding OUR dog hostage from us so you can make a dollar. Isn’t your mission to reunite dogs with their families?

The only saving grace for Bradley county. So much better than animal control in Cleveland. These people truthfully care and do what is best for each pet brought to them.Thank you SPCA of Bradley county!

Everyone was nice. It was very clean. Not to mention I met Macaron. I changed her name to Sookie but shes absolutely perfect. Sweet as can be. If I ever get another kitten or volunteer somewhere it will be there. You guys rock!!

I adopted my baby from there. Great experience! Great volunteers! Appreciated that I was there! Yes, they only feed animals once a day but any vet will tell you that animals only need to eat once if fed the right amount! Also do your research. Most shelter will not accept surrenders 30 minutes before close due to the time it takes to evaluate the animal and get it vet care if needed.

Good People, and great place. We adopted an orange kitty from here, and he very lovable! That said I cant keep him, because my stress levels are too high and blood pressure is sky rocketed in 48 hours. Someone please give this kitty Thomas a good home!...(Oranje, very quiet meow, moderate age, really sweet!)

I cannot stress how wonderful the employees are! We just adopted a Siberian husky German shepherd mix from here and the experience was wonderful. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. They let us take our time with each prospective animal we were wanting to take time to get to know as well. The dogs were very well taken care of and the kennels were clean. None of the dogs we saw looked dirty or unkept. It was very obvious these dogs are well taken care of until they find their forever home. I highly recommend this facility if you are looking to adopt a fur baby. Thank you so much to all the staff who helped us in finding our newest family member. Yall are wonderful!!!

My experiences have been frustrating. Someone has dumped cats on our dead end road and this said cats have reproduced and feral cats are running amok. We have live traps set for them. Appointments have to be made to turn them in. When I made todays appointment I took two in and was told that when I made the appointment it was for one and I can only turn in one. I was told to either release it or keep it in the live trap and they made me an appointment for next Thursday.

If I could give no stars I would, the staff was extremely rude they all like it was a problem, I had some kittens dropped off in my front yard decided to hit these fools up and it was a complete waste of time when I arrived all the staff was outside goofing around, when I told them about the kittens their attitudes were extremely rude after filling out some paper work they refused to take in these kittens and tried to schedule an appointment on the 16th of August when I am not allowed to have pets in my current place of residence and they refused them because I had held onto the kittens for a couple days because of my work schedule and them not even being open on Sunday and Monday. Avoid this place.

The Cleveland SPCA is doing wonderful work in the fight for Cleveland, TN for a NO KILL city!! They are very appreciated. Kind and very knowledgeable and professional attitudes of the employees and volunteers.

I broke my entire left shoulder to my wrist last year and I couldnt handle my American staff bully and had to make the hardest decision I made my whole life. I had let my baby go here. When my boyfriend took him there he explained to the what happened. I felt like I just buried one of my kids, I had to make the right choice for him. When he got home and told me they was going to kennel him for a week or 2 at a very cheap price, but I had to get him out when his kennel time was up and hed be the same as when he was brought there, the only thing they would do was up date his rabie shot. We got to visit him every day they was open. They toke real good care of my fur baby. If anything happens and you have to make the same choice I did or if have to give your fur baby up for adoption this is the best place to take them.

What they are doing for the animals earns them at least two stars.The reason they do not get more than two is because of their staff. The staff is reluctant to answer questions and they are not very knowledgable about dogs and cats.For a no kill shelter, their adoption prices are kind of high, but they are not as high as The Ark of Cleveland which ask near breeder fees for their animals.Many of the dogs I have seen when I have visited are grown wild dogs that will not make good pets. What I mean by that is, the dogs appear to be the kind of dogs that were chained outside all their lives with very little human interaction.If you plan on visiting, please leave your little kids at home. If they do not fear dogs already, chances are they will after leaving here. Many of the dogs will growl and show teeth to anyone that walks by. There are signs posted warning of the dogs that are known to bite.

This is the worst place ever if they dont want to take your dog they will make every excuse not to. Ive tried to take a dog there twice now yrs apart and they have refused me service not everyone is able to be there while giving up there animal it is painful when you dont want to but have to ,now what do I do since I cant keep him and they refused me and my dog. they make there own rules and they cant even give you a real honest reason for not taking the animals.this place sucks abouslty sucks.

I just dropped off 2 bags of 16.5 pounds each of dog food and 3 collars and a harness and 4 dog food bowls and antler chews and treats. They were greatly appreciated for the donation. Very friendly and kept telling me thank you so much. Every shelter is in much need for items. Which I could have donated much more. But I know my donation will help them out. Warms my heart to know I did the right thing. Breaks my heart knowing animals in the shelter need forever homes but they will find them soon. I wish I could have adopted today but I already have 5 dogs.

First time we came, though employees were there, they said they were closed for a holiday and to come back on Tuesday since theyre closed on mondays. No problem. Came back Tuesday at 4:30 and even though theyre opened until 5 they wouldnt take my cat because it was too late. Came back Tuesday and they informed us theyre full and would likely euthanize it. Why did you not just say that the first two times? Especially when we were there half an hour before closing!

They were wonderful with our dog couldnt ask for any better.thank you so much for everything.

The pet we adopted seemed ok until a couple of hours later and it was obvious she was sick. I contacted the shelter and was told just to take her to the vet because we gave you a free month of insurance. The insurance repays you AFTER you spend $ at the vet. We did not have the funds and I dont think its a big leap to expect the pets at a shelter to be well when they are made available for adoption. I was given paperwork and told heres a list of her shots -- after seeing how sick she was, I went back over the document and realized half the shots had not even been administered yet. I felt like the adoption process was rushed and the response to my issue was kind of breezed over. I will not adopt from here again.

I get my pets flea medicine here very cheap and its effective, but I will support and no kill shelter ALL DAY LONG!

I dont even want to give a star to the SPCA of Bradley County this place is a joke. I had a horrible experience at this place. I rescued a mom and puppies doing the right thing took them to the SPCA of Bradley County and not only could they not help me and wouldnt take them to be adopted to a forever home one of the staff members told me I shouldnt of rescued them and I should of just left them where I recused them from. They where abandoned in the cold with no food or water. Im sorry but I care to much for animals to do that and you would think that people that work at an adoption and pet rescue place would understand that all the people that work there that feels this way about animals should be fired.

We went here looking for a new family member, the people were very helpful and nice, they showed us around told us about each dog that fit our bill, we ended up adopting a dog that needed our help even more from a different shelter, but next time we will definately be returning here.

Hate them they took our dogs cause our neighbor calls police on us everytime we breath. Claimed my dog and her pups were too skinny and in the road. I kept my dogs inside except to go out to potty. There was only one pup small i was concerned about also, i wormed them all i even put him n a room by himself to feed him so the other pups couldnt take food from him. He still stayed skinny. I fed my dogs twice a day. The skinny pup may have needed more care then i could afford but he was Strong. Mama dog was very healthy and NOT skinny like that and they took her from us. She was nearly grown and we had her since she wasa little puppy, she was a comfort to us during a hard time in our life. She was like a child to us. We have lost too much and all they did is take them to make money online they sold for $175.00 a piece per pup and nama dog was $125.00. she was worth more too us. So yeah they broke our hearts and they wouldnt even let my small son keep the puppy he was attached to. He cryed harder then i r ever seen him cry. Weve lost enough we cant handle anymore loss. We are good loving people who fif NOT deserve this treatment from them or our nosey neighbors. We bother no one we keep to ourselves others n the community should do the same mind your own business. Im so glad my dog was taken just so they could profit on what was to us a family member.

They are caring people and its plain to see that they have a love of animals. I had to surrender a dog that I had nursed back to health.I was very emotional at that time and they were very understanding.
