Our son was in a fantastic daycare but we moved and chose Collina for proximity to our new home. We toured the facility and everything seemed fine but we were not able to view the rooms while we were there. A few days after our son started I noticed signs something wasnt right. When I would pick him up he was extremely tired, covered in dried on food and smelling foul, and usually missing a sock and/or shoe. In the first week the teachers lost 2 pairs of his socks and the cap to a bottle. The drop off/pick up situation is very disorganized. Most times he wasnt in his classroom but in another room so I would have to go hunt down his belongings, his milk bottle usually left on a counter, his other bottles in the refrigerator, his lunch box in another location, and dirty clothes in yet another location, then go collect him from another room. They do not have trash bags for soiled clothes so instead they would be shoved into a latex glove and put back in his clean clothes drawer. There was a day he came home with a bruise on his forehead and no one called to notify me. Another day his clothes were wet and I was told he kept playing in a puddle outside, which to me means he wasnt supervised. One afternoon I picked him up and was told he was so tired he fell asleep on the floor, which again tells me no one was watching him to see his ques for a nap.Several times while picking him up I would notice one teacher interacting with the babies and the others just standing around. I would have to walk through a sea of infants lying or sitting on the ground to physically pick up my son because they could not be bothered to bring him to me at the door. There were a couple of days that a baby would be crying on the floor and a teacher just standing there, doing nothing, and it broke my heart. Theyre infants, pick them up and soothe them.By then end of the second week his actual temperament had changed. He was biting my husband and I and throwing things, neither of which had he done before and at only 11 months old. And both of which have stopped after a few weeks at his new daycare.Lastly, once we decided to remove him from Collina I had a phone call with the manager to raise my concerns and I would say she was dismissive about most items but did say she would have a talk with the teachers.

Every other school is closed so why is this one and probably the other places like this open? Doesnt make sense to me and not worth putting my family at risk. I was told theyre waiting for the governor and hes doing a great job handling the virus response huh? I guess not showing up will put my child at risk of being kicked out but at least we wont have to worry about getting sick 😷.

My kids enjoy sharing stories with me about their day and what experiences they had. Collina Kids, keeps me informed and provide a nurturing and educational environment. Since my kids started here I have received numerous pictures of the moments that Ive missed. I would like to say ‘thank you’ to the staff. My son is well taken care of when he is with Ms.Max she helps him with potty training. The teachers and staff are absolutely incredible. My kids are always happy to be there. Both my children went here quite a few years ago. One is now in middle school while the other is in high school. I truly believe that strong curriculum in the early ages of development played a major in their success in school. They always seemed a step ahead from the day they left for kindergarten and now they are in all advanced classes and my high schooler is even taking an AP class as a freshman. I am very thankful to the staff for everything they did. Early childhood education really does make a huge difference. Thanks guys!

The infant room is great but after that it is so awful. My daughter looked like a zombie when she came out, but after I fed her she was back to normal. So I assume they went feeding the kids right. Every time I would pick her up her pants were wet through her diaper, so God only knows how long she was sitting on her own pee. She kept getting bad painful butt rashes so I took her out and put her in another daycare. I communicated my dissatisfaction, but nothing was done, and they were extremely rude.

I would not recommend this place to anyone, regardless of the age of your child. This establishment is unprofessional, the staff is unfriendly, and the manager, Jenna, is both of these things. The food they feed the children isnt fresh, and its disgusting and unhealthy. Favoritism is a very big thing here, as well. They dont care about their employees, unless they are ones that the manager favors. There is ABSOLUTELY no discipline involved in the kids, and its okay for them to kick teachers, throw things at teachers, and call them names. While calling the manager for help, it was my fault that I was not able to control the kids, even though they had trashed the classroom, and had harmed me physically. While cleaning the classroom, I had smelled weed in the supply closet. Reminder: these are the people taking care of YOUR children. Also, many employees have their own children enrolled in the daycare, so therefore, they are far more concerned about their own children than yours. I had sought out help from other employees, and they were very rude and reluctant to help me and answer basic questions. They had lied to me multiple times, said rude comments to me, and treated me very poorly. Once again, I would not recommend this establishment to work in, nor to have these trashy, unprofessional people take care of your kids.

My daughter has been going here from age 3 months to age 2.5 years. This place taught her how to go to sleep on a cot and how to use silverware before we thought she could do either. She did cry most of her first day there, but she was three months old. She didnt cry the day after. Now she will throw a tantrum at drop-off time about once a month, but other than that she likes going there and always seems to be playing happily when we arrive in the evening.Their curriculum is kind of a joke; she doesnt seem to have learned any letters, numbers or shapes from there, just from us. But she did learn some songs from them. They seem to keep a close eye on the kids and they seem to care. When your kid is being a discipline problem they are very professional about talking to you about it.One thing, though, is after your kid is about 18 months old, the people with your kid after about 3PM will be a totally random hodgepodge of people mostly high school kids, and they will have no idea if your kid had a nap or ate lunch. Sometimes the morning staff keep good records of these things, but usually they do not.

It wasnt a perfect experience, although my teachers normally kept a close eye on us I did get hurt occasionally, mostly minor injuries. I bonded with the teachers they interacted with us much more then my current teachers now. I was disturbed by this and so was the caretaker....when I brought it to the attention of the lady up front she seemed indifferent and simply said okay. For now the daycare my older son attends is full so I have to put up with this place for now.I wouldnt recommend. Also the menu for the children that eat is very poor. More than once Ive seen donuts (sweet colorful type) for breakfast. Some of the children were not eating it but were eagerly encouraged to eat by the staff. Very disappointing.

My daughter joined Collina Kids about 2 months ago, and everything about this process/place has been a positive one.We have webcam access and I watch my daughter engage in toddler curriculum daily, as well as having some down time for outdoor play, free play and nap time. My daughter has learned so much in the last 2 months than she ever has before so I know things are being taught. She comes home from Collina Kids, with a smile on and lots to show for her days/weeks at day care.. Daily, Collina Kids staff sends children home with a daily report of feeding, toileting, and what each child did for the day. Communication has been great so far!Aside webcam access this facility is a locked facility and everyone gets their own code to enter the building, same with their sign in policy. Any concerns I have as a parent is always quickly addressed with the front office staff and teachers without hesitation.Last but not least, the facility is very clean and each classroom is organized. When I go to pick up my daughter, the facility as well as individual classrooms are being cleaned. (which I love because we know how quickly germs spread). But, I feel better knowing this facility is taking the time to clean equipment, toys, tables and chairs for these children as each day is different.Thank you Collina Kids for making our first time in day care experience a great one thus far. The place is stinky and dirty. The children have no discipline and the staff isnt professional. We wouldnt ever enroll our child in a place like this!

I love the teachers. They are really caring and notice quarks about each child. Its really sweet. I would say the only thing is maybe they are short staffed from time to time. If they worked with that I think there maybe a different. Waiting to see how VPK goes once my child goes into that. We did have one incident where at craft time, my child decided to give herself a hair cut. I told them to just exclude her from scissors as she is three and still a bit immature to use them. Hopefully by the time vpk comes around she will have more listening ears and not impulsiveness. And a plus, they are competitive with their prices compared to big name daycare centers and are well equipped.

My 4 year old granddaughter just completed VPK at Collina Kids Academy - a last-minute decision when her parents found school based VPK classes full. I dropped her off nearly every morning, and picked her up at noon 5 days a week for the entire 180 day school year – and often watched her on camera from home. I watched again and again while she spent many math classes crawling around the floor, playing with blocks to entertain herself for 30-45+ minutes of the hour long math class. I watched again and again while noting one (1) adult in her VPK classrooms supervising 13–16 VPK students. “The 2018 Florida Statutes, 1002.55: School-year prekindergarten program delivered by private prekindergarten providers.— In order to protect the health and safety of students, each private prekindergarten provider must also provide appropriate adult supervision for students at all times and, for each prekindergarten class composed of 12 or more students, must have, in addition to a prekindergarten instructor who meets the requirements of paragraph (c), at least one adult prekindergarten instructor who is not required to meet those requirements but who must meet each requirement of paragraph (d).” A written sign hanging on the wall of the VPK classroom alerting all to an upcoming child’s birthday: “Thrusday” “Birthay. ” I assumed VPK “teachers” would possess elem school level spelling skills. Her alphabet workbook was incomplete, her numbers workbook to #26 – after approx 180 days? Compare online DCF inspection reports/violations to other local childcare centers. They seem to have a very high turnover of staff. Ask how many adults directly in charge of your child’s care have been employed one year or less. High quality standards for employment? The online employment ads I’ve viewed state “experience and 45 hours a plus but will train.” A review posted 8 months ago by an “Arielle Ramsay” (see below) has remained online and appears unchallenged for 8 months. Wondering why she wasn’t referred to as an “internet troll”? If the alleged accusations are false, I wonder why haven’t they been addressed and removed? IF any daycare worker failed a “pre”-employment background check – would they be entitled to any wages? Why would a long-term employee and owner’s husband post 5 star reviews? I was involved in and witnessed a confrontation by the owner and the mother of a classmate. Two 4 year old girls sat on the curb across from the front door, under the overhang, sharing a snack after school and chatting nearly every school day for approx. 8 months, with direct adult supervision. I entered Collina twice a day - signed in and out at the front desk for nearly 8 months, approximately 300 times. At no time was any concern or complaint shared with me by the owner or front desk supervisor about this daily behavior. Yet three weeks before VPK graduation – approx 45 hours short of completion of the 540 hour state funded VPK program, the owner angrily approached us outside, which resulted in her yelling at the mom to “get out of my parking lot and get a life”, directly in front of the 2 little girls – scaring both children and making them cry. When the mom stated she planned to post a review about her behavior, the owner’s response was, “This will be your daughter’s last day here.” The mom took her crying daughter inside to continue to the conversation. I can assure the owner, had she threatened my granddaughter’s completion of the state funded VPK program and graduation, I would have notified every news organization throughout Central Florida to cover the story. I later asked my 4 year old granddaughter what “the lady” said – hoping she didn’t hear the inappropriate statement. The owner of Collina Kids Academy had taught my 4 year old granddaughter the phrase “get a life.” If THIS is considered appropriate behavior in front of 2 small children while parents are present – what is considered appropriate in parent’s absence? The owner is one of the most rude and unprofessional people I’ve ever encountered. I would never recommend Collina.

Huge yard for the kids to play in and lots of shade. But if you want to make sure your kids had breakfast at school you need to wait around and make sure they actually set it in front of them. Also their vpk classroom is usually out of soap. High turn over in that age group. Younger kids have better teachers but all the good ones have been leaving for other schools lately. This place recently had a major staff change in the directors position and has gone down hill since. We used to love it now I dread taking her there.

This is part 2,Finally but not last was the straw that broke the camels back when my daughter and her friend would like to get out of school from being so bored all day and sit underneath the overhang were no cars would pull into besides the owners husband every now an than. They would enjoy chatting with each other and sharing some snacks together for maybe around 20 mins or so before heading home and they were in complete supervision with 2 standing adults there with them. Now this was approximately going on 6 +months or so how many times have i checked my daughter in and out of this facility and not once was i ever told this was a problem. Well 3 weeks or less to graduation the owner ( Katheryn ) decides she is going to go outside an confront me and the other little girls grandmother and tell us very rudely that this situation is unsafe ( but i guess it wasnt unsafe for approximately 6 + months ) now mind you in front of a 4 yr old and a 5 yr old. Now the girls begin to start crying they were really upset so i said to the owner what is so unsafe about them sitting here with us? and she proceed to have a bad attitude and told us in front of the two girls TO GET OUT OF HER PARKING LOT AND GET A LIFE so i said i was going to write her a bad review. Katheryn the owner turns to the door and says this will be your daughters last day here and went inside. So im left there with my little girl that has been talking and practicing about graduation for a few months now crying her eyes out so my heart is just breaking. So the grandmother leaves so i go inside pretty much trying to plead with the owner to allow my daughter to come back and finish out the school year and graduate. She proceed to threaten me to call D.C.F on me because i allowed my daughter to hang out in a unsafe place also told me that i was trying to manipulate her by bringing my crying daughter in there in front of her ( this was the 2nd time i went in there to speak with her and the grandmother had left.) What would she have preferred me do leave her outside in an unsafe place and mind you i wasnt arguing with her i was trying to plead with her. How rude, inappropriate and unprofessional can she be? Finally my daughters father had to call her and speak with Katheryn so our daughter can go back to school. So I apologized to Katheryn for what im not sure of and we didnt allow the girls to hang out underneath her overhang anymore. Now heres graduation day, Katheryn, I could probably grantee she dont know a childs name in that v.p.k class. She gets up says a sorry speech and goes back and sits down while having a probably 6+ month pregnant woman on her knees her front desk staff member calling out the names of the children i was so appalled that Katheryn as the owner couldnt even hand out or call the children to get their diplomas. And seems to me that my little girl was put in the 2nd row where she could hardly be seen and she is hands down the smallest in her class while other taller children was in the front row. My feeling is the owners seem not to care about their staff members and there is favoritism and probably dont know any of the childrens names, all they care about is the money they are raking in. Katheryn the owner maybe had said Hi to me twice in the whole 9 months of being there and forget the husband you can walk right past him holding the door and wont even look at you. My option here is there are plenty of great daycares out here in Clermont Collina Kids is not one them.

This is only part one, My experience with Collina Kids was not a good one. I have a 5 year old daughter who attended their v.p.k classes and the only reason why my daughter started there was because she had a neighbor friend who was attending Collina Kids v.p.k program and i figured my daughter wouldnt be alone. From the day meet the teacher i had concerns about this place. The turnover between teachers was high in this establishment. And i paid for the cameras every month to watch my daughter and countless of times have i watched her and many of the other students roll around / crawl on the carpet because they were so bored they would be sitting there a good 30 mins with nothing to do and if they were lucky they would get some blocks or something to play with. Florida VPK requires 2 adults for 12 or more children. Yet many days I left her in a classroom with one adult and watched on camera with only one adult with 14 + children. I sent my daughter here thinking she would get a head start on kindergarten and would be more advance and honestly i dont believe she is. We received her notebooks that she had done work in and out of 180 days my child has only got up to writing number 22 and the alphabet is all mixed up not in order and still missing z and I. What did they really do for 180 days? For my daughters birthday i was bringing in cupcakes to celebrate with her friends so in the morning i told her teacher and her teacher said oh good i will write a sign and hang it up, I watched the lead teacher hang up the sign and the next morning i noticed she misspelled Thursday as Thrusday also misspelled birthday as birthay and  cup cakes as a separate word. Also on another project a teacher misspelled the word baking as bakeing now both times i brought it up to the front staff members, but when i brought up the birthday and Thursday misspelling to the owner her excuse was English is her second language she seemed not to care and than the front desk staff says well all signs that teachers write has to be doubled checked before hung.  And when you do say something to the staff about a concern you will get the cold shoulder for days. There seemed to be maybe only 3 teachers in my childs v.p.k rooms that would actually smile and say hello and goodbye to you when they seen you, one of them i never even see her crack a smile until the last day. Many teachers didnt seem like they were happy to be there. The owners husband told us one time not to allow the kids to sit on the wall the stucco will crack ( now your talking about 2 girls that weight maybe 30 lbs each ) but we were nice an polite about it the girls never sat on his stucco again and we even told other children not to sit there as well.

To any parents, expectant parents or grandparents thinking about sending your children to this school please READ AND BEWARE. At the end of July I began On job training at Collina Kids Academy. I was working at a hair salon at the time. They litterally took me in, not knowing me from a hole in the wall and put me in a class room full of kids who were hardly talking. I began working there full time as a teachers aide on August 1st and worked 40+ hours at $9 an hour. Still, they had no idea who I was and am. Yet I was in changing your childrens diapers, holding them, hugging them, letting them crawl on me, telling then what to do, and giving them food. Still without them knowing if I had any difference between a pervert and a non-pervert. They hadnt done any back ground Checking or anything before giving me such a responsibility! I could have been a registered sex offender for all they knew. They didnt take my fingerprints till days after working there. Plenty of time for a creepy person to do God knows what with YOUR young children that attend their day care. During my time at this establishment I witnessed teachers telling other students to hit others kids, sharing mop water (FYI thats why the hands mouth and foot sickness was going around), teachers telling kids to tell others to shut up as well as a teacher dragging a 3 year old nearly to the ground in a fit of rage because she was crying after being woke up from nap time. (In adventurers) Due keep in mind that I brought this information to management (Ann) immediately which she said she would look into it. But the assailant is still employed and working with your children as she does travel through rooms and stays for an hour at a time. They fired me because my fingerprints did not clear, imagine that! Ive been working with your kids for a couple weeks now and they had no idea. Wait, yes they did cause I told them my fingerprints may not clear! I was arrested for beating my ex husband up for breaking my rib. But they deemed me unfit to work with children. But hey lets not forget the lady who likes to abuse others children still has a job. They also tried to only pay me for 19hrs claiming thats all I was owed. Then after getting in touch with the wage and hour board, DCF and BBB they offered me an additional check for 14 hours. Now, I am not going to lie. I am putting this establishment on blast because they refuse to pay me what I am owed. But also because they refuse to act on what they preach. You fire a woman who defended herself from a man who weighs 180+ pounds. I weigh 135 pounds! Yet still employ the disgruntled woman who is comfortable ripping a kids arm nearly out of socket in front of someone? A little contradicting dont yall think? If shes comfortable doing it to one and in front of an adult then she is doing it to others with an even stronger level of comfort! Get yourselves in order. Cause just like the woman you spoke about in the *mandatory meeting* that you arent paying me for. Im going to be writing reviews for the next 8 years. You traded one angry reviewer for someone with a lot more dirt!

Worst place ever....after looking around we decided to try the place out, will it was the worst thing we did.place isnt clean, teachers are careless our baby was crying from the minute we dropped him off until we pick him up and they said oh will he needs to get use to the place.a week went by and still the same they didnt give a crap second week he even cried more we picked him up on monday and he had a fever they didnt even bother checking him,day later he had the worst rash all over his body..anyways we took him him out of this hell hole and put him in another place. not a tear in his eyes happy as he can be... parents be careful of that smily faces when you go take a tour if you do care about the welfare of your child find another place..and the owners of that place dont give a damn business must be good for them. hope that changes and they start caring about their customers... very unhappy and hope the health department will give them a visit.

Do not take your children here ! My daughter hated it, every morning that we would leave her she would cry. In under 2 months she has been injured 3 times and all they would write is little notes.. As if thats going to make everything better. she had got cuts close to the eye, found a bruise on her cheek not knowing how it happened ! and a teacher closed a door on her fingers causing damage. Very horrible school and regret bringing her here. She suffered more than learned. The teachers were very negligent towards my daughter and also some other kids as i would see in the cameras. She was always by herself, never with a teacher. All the teachers would be gathered up with some kids, not in groups. They charge alot of money for services that quite frankly are no good and the teachers are not professional. If you care for your children do not bring them here. PARENTS BEWARE ! Im glad i activated the cameras, that showed enough for me to not want to bring her back.

I need to tell you, all parents, out there, about my son and his girlfriends bad experience with my granddaughter, their daughter,at this so called Collina Kids Academy . They are newly parents and their experience has been very traumatic to the point they have nightmares about this day care center where they registered my granddaughter. My daughter in law went to check out the place and she was very impressed with the people and the place itself; but it turned out to be a mimic to hide the truth about their lack of responsibility and lack of caring . They noticed that the morning crew is a little bit better than the afternoon crew which is a whole bunch of kids who, only god knows, if they are even old enough to work and of course due to their ages they are lacking in skills to care for children. My granddaughter is only two years old and unable to tell us about how torturing it was for her to go there everymorning. At the beginning we all thought it was normal for her to cry but few days went by and she will still cry a lot; and all they said is that yeah yeah is normal whatever.... but few days after she had her first incident and my son and his girlfriend still wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and few days later, she had her second incident and the manager/owner and her staff member will try to justify it by saying that it was an accident. and later on, the third incident occurred. This time was more serious that they took my granddaughter to the hospital because two of her finger got smashed with the door when the staff member carelessly closed it without even checking if any of the kids were around. My son and his girlfriend went to talk to manager and she would not even offer to show them the video, I wonder why I can just imagine how terrible it was to watch a baby crying over so much pain After so many bad experiences and not once my granddaughters parents received a reasonable explanation to some many accident/incidents it is obvious that manager/owner is never supervising her staff and therefore dont even care about the kind of care these girls are giving to all these children. This level of unprofessionalism and irresponsibility needs to be reported to the highest authorities that monitor the quality of care that these institutions are given to our children. It is sad that all they really care is to collect the money from the hard working parents who put their trust in the hands of these thieves that will abuse our children by not providing with the appropriate care they deserve.
