I was in BJs Wholesale Club of Clearwater, FL this morning to but some fresh vegetables. I think someone should check the organic celery!

Beautiful new store with a Great Introductory membership drive... lots and lots of selections with a bargain on bulk... very friendly and courteous staff. They are adding a brand new gas station to the existing store and it is under construction... should be done soon... I have had other memberships at other bulk stores but this one is super nice...

Not sure we will go to BJS after reading the comments. Dont want to be FORCED into wearing a mask. Will stick with Costco.

I always get birthday cakes from Publix but this year I was on a budget... so happy. The cake I got for my daughters birthday was not only so so cute but 100% just as good as publix. I know. But its a factPerfect cake. A third the price.Staff here is always amazing as wellLove BJs.

I give BJs in Clearwater a 2star rating. The store itself is extremely clean after all its brand new.It does have a wide variety of items in small amounts. I was impressed they carry Deitz and Watson cold meats at their deli counter.As for their selections of beef (extremely dissatisfied) I noticed the cuts of beef had brown spots (not small either). We all know beef is colored with red dye how ever this was not acceptable. I was wearing polarized glasses so I was able to see this.Their vegetables looked decent, frozen foods selection was average.Clothing and apparel minimal for the electronics I would minimal as well.What I did notice are their hours Monday thru Saturday 9am - 9pm and Sunday 9am -7pmPetro no difference in price compared to local fueling stations.

They have these shopping carts with actual toddler cars attached. It made shopping with my toddler a dream. He went from cranky and tired to delighted as he drove while I shopped in peaceful bliss. Thank you so so much for having these available! We will come back here.

Ive been a fan of B.J.s for more than 15 years, but my last visit on 12/4/20 was extremely disappointing. I can only give the store one star after this visit because of how lax they seem to be taking the Covid-19 precautions - even while the numbers in the country are at their highest, and Florida numbers continue to rise. Initially, when the pandemic started, BJs seemed to take it very seriously, had someone diligently cleaning carts, had signs on the floor controlling the flow of traffic and to help guests stay 6 feet apart, and made sure everyone wore a mask when they entered.During this most recent visit, I saw a few customers either half-wearing masks or having them completely pulled down - in addition to some wearing regular bandanas that didnt seem to cover much. One customer had a mask around her ears but had it pulled down below her chin. she walked by several employees who said nothing to her - and even interacted with one of them - but no one told her to put her mask on (despite signs on the entrance doors and at various points around the store).The worst part was seeing BJs staff members only half-wearing their masks. On this visit, I saw at least four employees with their masks not covering their noses, and some barely covering their mouths. One staff member was from the meat department (but out with customers), and another was from the bakery department (out in an aisle talking to customers). Not only are they all directly interacting with customers, they are touching and interacting with the food and items we are there to purchase. If they are so lax about mask-wearing in front of customers, it scares me to think about how they may be handling hand-washing and sanitizing behind the scenes.After looking through other reviews online, it looks like this wasnt a one-time event, and other customers have complained about their lax procedures. This is a real shame because there are some foods and products BJs sells that my family really likes - but it is not worth risking our health and safety if they are not going to enforce basic public safety measures with their own staff and customers.

I like this location but conflicted . This is a nice store and the gas Island is a plus in this particular location. The curbside pickup location needs a little help where they have it located. The prices are great and for the most part the employees are awesome . There are some that need reminding they work with the public and hone their customer service skills a bit. The guy at the door checking reciepts needs to know how to talk with customers . This location seems to struggle with keeping items in stock , hence 4 stars. I visit here often and i hope to change the star rating to 5 soon . I generally like this store and will go back . The store is always clean no matter what time I visit.

Store is spotless, and staff goes way beyond to help. Cant remember the last time a store went out the way to make a visit pleasant

I was so excited for months that BJs was coming to Pinellas. Ive been a member for many years and I dont like driving to the area where the one in Tampa is.So finally the Clearwater BJs opens!!! We went to check it out and was greatly disappointed.The best way I can articulate it is by saying it is underdesigned. Parking sucks. The spots are narrow and clearly there are not enough spots. Yes its new, but still, parking is not sufficient. We drove a minivan and immediately noticed its necessary to park directly center in your spot or you will have trouble with door dings from other cars.Inside the store was also underdesigned. Immediately noticeable, it looked like a mini BJs. The area for check out is smaller. Fewer lines and nowhere to line up for the cash register. You will bump into the people in the next check out as you area trying to unload your cart. And the self check outs are max 15 items.I was happy to see BJs come to Clearwater and still am but wont be as excited when the snow birds return in the fall as it will be only more cramped.Who ever designed this location designed it for a rural area, not a big urban area.

This is a brand new BJs club. They have a lot of really good things!! The parking lot was well maintained and had lots of spaces. The inside of the store was so very clean. A great place to buy in bulk or to get that special item that they might just have in stock.

I am A Costco shopper who wanted to look at a new alternative in Clearwater, FL. BJ’s place is very clean, some of the items a bit cheaper than in Costco and some of them are not. Some things come in larger selection and some not. No cafeteria is a negative factor though.

I love the new store! Its super clean, plenty of walking space, staff is helpful and nice. The same-day online order option is easy and quick...your cart is just waiting for you. Prices are similar to other warehouses, but main difference is that BJs offers you their own coupons and takes manufacturers coupons too. Clip them online and they are automatically saved on your member card when you check out. They also have a Gas Savings program (see poster picture)

Free COVID for everyone here!If you put some gas at this location the attendant (old man) wear NO MASK whatsoever but he’ll talk to you directly outside right up your face. Pump was not printing so have to call the attendant and he was speak loud and clear with NO social distance.I already spoke with the manager (Tina) twice but they don’t care because according to them if he’s outside he won’t infect anyone since it’s outside! Come on!!! 😤

No masks required unlike Costco. I do the bulk of my shopping for big box items at BJs because of their respect for our freedom. Well done BJs!

Very poorly ran perishable department... as a former shopper I noticed several health code violations not to mention osha violations as well. From employees in the deli having to share dirty aprons, to not changing gloves . They are told to redate expired precut cheese and meats.. consistent selling of chicken that has to be thrown away due to passed hold times in the hot case.. the meat department will drop raw meat on the floor, wash it off and pack it for sale.( that can be seen from the window next to the deli.)

My first visit to BJs love the store. Deli manager a little aggressive and rude, but other then that its great. Ive read some of the reviews and Palm Harbor reviews are just prude people who want things there way. Great store. I wish they had a laugh button on some of these reviews.

We have done in-store pickup many times, this was the first terrible experience! The male associate slammed everything around and slammed my car trunk. Very unhappy with this service. The associate never verified order, never even said ‘hello’ ‘thanks’ or goodbye...just slammed everything around and almost broke my trunk slamming the door. This associate had no respect for the products that were purchased. Disappointed in the service. Zero stars.

Clean store have bulk supplies located in convenient area. Friendly workers.

My family of 4 loves digital coupons. We also take advantage of members discount and save almost every visit. Told our 18 month old BJ had fish..

This location much better than Tampa. The discount on gas with a BJs credit card is unbeatable on price. Location is easy to get in and out of with a back entrance off Enterprise. Clean store. They take manufacturer coupons along with their store coupons.

Gas prices are great and the staff are really friendly.

They basically have the same stuff as Sams club. Its pretty good.Recently there were people in the store not wearing masks. There are not usually a lot of people here, so we were able to keep our distance. But we will limit our trips, and try not to linger since they dont enforce the requirement that all people in the store wear a mask.Be safe.

Been supporting this place since it has opened spending a couple of thousands of dollars a month there (as I own a restaurant). Had a standing order twice a week that they were not able to fulfill because of the virus which was obviously understandable, now they have more than enough Of the item I need and still are limiting me of only 2.. Shutting out a small business that’s trying to survive!! Thanks BJS and you have now lost at least $30000 a year because I will never step foot in your establishments again!!!!!!

On a Friday near the holidays they need to have more than 2 people working at the customer service desk. Spent 30min in line to return a item. Ridiculous. Cant even tell who the employees are because they dont have uniforms for their dress code. What big company doesnt have at least a company shirt!? Makes it very difficult to ask for assistance

Poor covid policys to keep people safe.

We belonged to BJs in Virginia back around 1989 and only used it occasionally. This one years later i saw big improvements. The gas station is very competitively priced. I liked that there is an attendant walking around while people pump. Less chance of a skimmer. In the store i was primarily looking for meats this trip but ended up also getting laundry detergent packets which had a good price, organic orange juice which had a very good price and lemonade which seemed pretty closely priced to stores outside. The price difference in meats and dairy was very noticeable. Boneless Chicken breasts were $1.99 a pound and a competitor i priced before coming there had $2.29 a pound on sale. Pork chops also had a decent price difference. Eggs had 2 dozen extra large for $2 which is cheaper than i normally pay for 2 dozen large. I wish they had applewood bacon but had a nice selection of other types of bacon. So for now it appears it will be worth coming back. I will price compare other areas and add to this review.

Its a very convenient location if you dont want to go to Sams or Costco. New store, so everything looks nice. Management seems to be keeping up and maintaining the new store feel. The absolute best part is the gas station. Ive more than paid my membership dues multiple times over using their premium gas. But overall, great staff there, great store. I hope they keep it up.

Stopped by to check out the new store across from the countryside mall. They just put in a gas station today compete with Costco and Sams club. My wife and I decided to go in and compare to our other memberships. Our first impression was how nice the membership desk was. Kim was our host. She explained briefly what they had to offer then suggest that we walk around and check out the place first hand.

The Clearwater location has gone down hill since it has opened.Customer service is seriously lacking. They keep changing where the products are from week to week... where now it does not make any sense.We always have done the self checkout and used to it. Last time, one of the staff screamed at us repeatably because we had a few items over 15. Kept coming back and badgering us. Greeter today was rude. Never had such a bad customer service at a BJs. We understand the stress from the pandemic but this has to be coming from bad management. Never experienced this at the other 2 locations in Tampa.Been a BJs customer for decades having lived up North. Seriously considering trying Costco

The club itself is nice, decent prices and variety. The customer service is lacking up front. Especially with making customers feel uncomfortable during covid. I prefer to check myself out (at every store, including Sams club this is never an issue) so that no one else is handling my groceries. Being forced to go to a cashier when 1) theres not a line waiting 2) theres 6+ self checkouts open that are empty and 3) freaking Covid is ridiculous, I had 17 items instead of 15, not 47. Maybe driving to Sams on Gulf to Bay is worth it if it means I can feel safer. 🤷‍♀️

I typically love shopping here. Having to get to customer service for a return is not so good. There are 6 people in line and one attendant. I understand. The argument they have to control labor to keep costs down. Suggestion move the guy that always harasses me on the way out to buy roofing and windows. I don’t come here for roofing and windows.

Better quality offerings than other big box retailers, we actually canceled one of our other memberships to join. Awesome gas prices, and staff is always available to help find things if you need to get in and out quickly. Excellent customer service!

Its a bad time for all of us but paying $14.95 for delivery to get half of what we ordered and bags were damaged isnt good business. Were done with BJs delivery. Our cart showed 90% of the critical items were available 1 hour before picking items began. The most critical items never made it. The end result was $30 worth of product at a cost of $45. In other words a 50% premium for delivery on what we purchased. Publix, Whole Foods and Sprouts have performed much better and didnt deliver damaged products. When I say damaged I mean they were opened. Stay safe and be careful of BJs in Clearwater!!!

I love shopping here, but there is one problem. People grab a cart that is sitting outside, bring it in, someone wipes it down and gives it back to you. What is the point? Ive already touched it! They dont always have hand sanitizer and when they do, it leave a gross sticky feeling on your hands. Then I have go wash my hands to get that off, then I can start shopping.

We come here for an alternative to Costco when we do not want to drive that far. Ever since the virus customer service here has dropped. A few times some rude remarks were made. I own a group home with clients. So no, everything in my cart is not for me. I have a vulnerable population to take care of.

I purchased some shoes the other night at closing time and they forgot to remove the theft tag. I returned yesterday to get it removed and they promptly removed it with no question. I get gas there all the time and they have good pricing. I couldnt pass up the chance to partake in some of the sampling and picking up a few items. In most cases their pricing is competitive. Their selection is what most Warehouse membership clubs will have. Their house brand is it good product.

I went there on Saturday for the soft opening. I was very impressed with the store and the employees. I was also impressed with the quality of products and the clothing as well. I can’t wait to go back. It was very crowded on the first day, but it was very organized and the lines moved quickly. Nice job on this brand new facility. I will be shopping here frequently!

This place is as good as Costco and Sams. I thought they had better pricing. The floor layout is the same as Sams club. Dont get the credit card they offer its like 17percent. Dont do it! Other than that its good.

Not bad.. prices are a little better on some items and not on others but that is to be expected. Not as many items as our usual wholesale store. Location is nice itll be nice when the gas pumps are put in

What a joke. This BJs is doomed to fail as its all wrong. Almost NO PARKING for one. The checkout counters are so mashed in you get trapped and the poor girls working there have nowhere to go when people try to get their carts out. Its a terrible traffic jam in the checkout. Customer service desk is also crazy as theres not enough room for the lines of people. And just so theyre consistent in being cramped, the front door is the same for in and out which wasnt a big deal but It was tricky trying to navigate out of the store with our cart. On the positive side, the people who worked there couldnt have been nicer. I feel sorry for them having to work in this poorly engineered store. We gave it a try but well stick with COSTCO.

Great New Store. Very easy to find merchandise. Employees were great also. Id recommend it to everyone. Spent over $300.00 today. Well worth it.

Similar to the other 2 clubs but i enjoy BJs more. Not too overwhelming. Selections are good and prices are reasonable. I think the savings in gas will pay my annual fee

Ive been a member of BJs for 7yrs and have loved the selection of hard to find items. Every summer and winter season there are always suprises of things that the other bulk places just dont carry and probably never will. Great place!

Worst customer service ever. Purchased a pork roll last week. They sliced all up nice for me. Went back today to get another one sliced and they told me NO because it came from the meat department and they would have had to actually do work and clean their machine after. God forbid someone in the store actually works. I do not recommend this store at all

In here at least once a week for deli meats. Quick checkouts. Great prices and LOVE their coupons and that you can also add manufacture coupons.

After Sams refused to honor a credit on our account, we cancelled and went to BJs - $25 special for the year! Very happy with the selection of items and the deli is great. Checking out was a little iffy as we had to get help for an in-store sale to be rung up correctly and to apply a $2 coupon that was attached to a premade dinner tray.All in all very happy, though I wish they had a café!

Glad this place opened in Clearwater. Lots of good deals. And membership also comes with discounted gas price. Definitely need to spend some time here since the place is so big. Great offerings of groceries, household goods, electronics, and cleaning supplies.

Have yet to really compare the prices to other places (Walmart, Costco, etc.) but, so far, seems pretty good. Parking lot is a MAJOR issue on weekends and youll end up driving around for a free spot for a while.The employees are friendly and helpful.

Very nice store a and easy to shop. I cant handle Costco anymore, its so packed at every hour of the day. Friendly staff at BJs and great prices.

Been a member since the 90s as I am member of the other 2 warehouse clubs . First time at this location and it was stellar ,very clean and organized. The staff was friendly and helpful I usually frequent the New Tampa or Waters location as I reside in eastern Hillsborough county. We need a BJs in Brandon! Always find good deals here on many different items , I like how items are discounted instead of just being removed. Cant beat the value and quality of the house brand products.

Prices look good, they take coupons, will see how their house brands stack up against Sams club. One draw back however, the same door is used for entering AND leaving the store at the same time causing frequent log jams. I can see the need for checking receipts but they dont even check your card on entering.

Deceptive Advertising. Inconsistent Appliaction of Gas promotions. Tremendous difficulty with solving the connection of their Credit Card issues at the store itself. When you call credit card company they give you a totally different story. Do not Trust them or their system. Do not trust the ways they get you into the store with amazing discounts. They either end up not true or not what they say or not available..but..they got you in their store.

When you find someone they are Very helpful and curious. Will take you where you want to go.

I like BJs so far. Weve been members since this one in Clearwater opened up. Prices are good from what Ive compared to Sams Club and Costco. The deli is very nice. Having a deli with fresh sliced meats and cheeses is a nice change from normal big box club stores in this area. That being said, the fact that you have to actually cut out coupons to use for in store savings is ridiculous with the technology we have today. That is a very annoying disappointment. I hope that changes soon.

Look really nice, but honesty i visit only for looking a new store. I talk about only the visit, the have a lot stuff but my favorite spot its the meat area they have a really nice cuts and price. huge variety in deli cuts like ham, bacon and chesse.

Wish it was closer to the Trinity area. Store is setup very differently. Prices mainly the same as other locations, but a few higher. Great that it has gas

Went to to Bjs for the first time and I I honestly recommend this place to everyone Ron the general manager and Eric sales associate went over and beyond my expectations on a issues thank you very much to both of them Ron is a great GM and the company will go very far with him working there very happy

About the only thing I like about this place is having reasonably priced gas close by. The prices are more than Sams and Costco. The staff is hit or miss with customer service. The self checkout while easy is redundant with payment and I waited 10 mins for my receipt to print. I was steered away from a manned checkout in favor of self checkout which I do not like.

They were great up in Ohio. People should give them a try. They seem to have a great selection. I cant wait to see what they have. ☺

Friendly people from the entrance greeter to the gas attendant! I love the carts bc they are higher and the self checkout was easy and fun to use! Its my favorite place to bulk up!

Buyer beware... Electronic sale items you are paying tax on the retail price of the item!! We went to Best Buy bought the same tv and paid tax on the SALE price. Read the small print on the ticket!!!!!!!!

Do not try and do an order online or through the app. You will get terribly frustrated when your order doesnt go through and you have to call the 1800#. As it being the second time this has happened, I will now only shop in store, going forward. If you want a good store, that offers reliable in store pick up, go with Publix or Walmart.

Excellent!!! Much better than location in Tampa and I personally believe has a better selection and much more inventory. Also has a gas station that provides excellent price for members!!!

Very disappointed. Had a hard time shopping from annoying noise that comes from all emergency exits in the store.Prices on produce were good. Costco has better prices and selection.Staff at BJs is superb.

Go there looking for volume but dont expect price breaks or good deals. Its no different than the grocery or department store. If you need a large amount of something, its comparable. Nothing special at all. Just another high priced warehouse club that charges you a membership fee that equates to nothing but an annual fee

Smaller version of Sams club. About the same selection, but somethings come in smaller sizes. Great if you do not need mayonnaise a gallon at a time.

Nice store, good prices on most items. It pays to know your prices but toiletries, cleaning products and meat/dairy are good places to save big.

Looking forward to the newest Wholesale Club here in Clearwater. Its been years since Ive shopped at BJs so Im hoping this location has good fresh departments. Sams Club and Costco a few miles down the street. Competition is always good for us consumers.

This is the first BJs in the Clearwater area. Its a new store, opening about a year ago from this review. BJs is a club store that sells product mostly in bulk quantities, like at a Costco or Sams Club. It is a little closer to being a grocery store than those aforementioned competitors, however, with a deli counter and some other subtle differences. Theres no food court (yet) but this Bjs does sell gas on the side for members only at usually a cheap price. Unlike some other club stores, coupons are a big part of the shopping experience and while you can use the app to clip coupons, its a bigger hassle to get the deals as there are hundreds to search through. You feel like you miss out (fomo) if you dont use the coupons, though, because they can make a big difference on your receipt price so I just grumble and start ripping them out of the magazine as I push my cart through the store. Some coupons are $2.50 in savings and greater per item which adds up quick. Some coupons not only take off the price of the product but also factor into your gasoline discount. Without the coupons I find it difficult to find any deals that would be much better than going to the local Publix so the jury is still out on whether being a member is worth it for me. It may be more of a deal for you depending on what you buy.

Would have given 5 stars its a nice place but the lady Wanda in the front is very rude in the short time that we were in line obeying all social distancing . Not only did she snap it us but at least five other guests . As a new member Im 2nd guessing our choice . As I said wow a couple of employees said she is rude all the time

Brand new, clean, organized looking and fully stocked. I visited during their soft opening so the gas station was not fully operational but will be soon, new employees didnt always know the answers to questions and cashiers were having a bit of difficulty with the cash registers and computers running them and there was much confusion and traffic jams at the entrance/exit of the store but overall, very, very nice! I am super impressed with the lay out of the fresh produce and meats. There seem to be a lot more to choose from than at Costco or Sams Club and you dont have to buy in gigantic portions, they do offer supersized bulk packs but you also have other options if you have a smaller family. It seems through out the store, there are smaller family friendly options. The aisles are wide enough for multiple shoppers and are in a grid pattern making navigation easy. I am excited to have this warehouse closer to home and am looking forward to shopping there as they iron out all the wrinkles that come with something so new.

Was glad I was able to try the membership for only $25 for a year.

I love shopping in here as a member, I would tell anyone to become a member, the values are great, lots of new things to see, well stocked, never leave with just 1 thing.

The Clearwater store is designed like many other BJs that I have shopped in before, only slightly larger. Every shelf was full with new merchandise. There were many name brands as well as the Berkley Jensen in store brand. I buy mostly food, but some items are too good to pass up. Especially when there is a BJS coupon as well as a manufacturer coupon. They take manufacturer coupons so you can save even more.

Super helpful staff. I was stuck and needed air in one of my tires on 7/13. It was after hours and they had already closed up shop, a staff member went way out his way to help me out.

Its a nice smaller warehouse club. Employees are friendly. Prices are higher than Sams club imo (the stuff I checked that was the same price a Sams was always a smaller pkg) but BJs offers coupons so that might prove to be a nice bonus. I didnt like their way of showing pricing per unit, it was awkward and confusing in my opinion. I did like getting 25% off greeting cards and they had a nice selection. Their big special today was huge pineapples for 99 cents (!) And cantaloupes were also 99 cents. Its closer to me than Sams so Ill check it out more in the next few months, and am looking forward to seeing if the gas is a good price when the pumps open. So far I say its nice, a handy location, but it wouldnt be my first choice if I was only going to keep one membership.

Worst bj’s I’ve been too

Thought I would give this a try since closer than Costco. After 3 visits definitely not impressed. It just seems like a glorified Walmart. The prices on items I purchase actually seemed higher than other stores . Parking and checkout severely lacking. Just like Walmart there can be a large volume of people trying to checkout and they only have 1 or 2 manned registers open, forcing you to use self checkout. No thanks, I will stick with Costco.

Compared to Sams club this big box store is much better in quality food , more variety and much cleaner looking. They give reduced cost membership to veterans.

If you like or need to buy in bulk, i recommend it, if not, i dont think its worth the membership fees
