I just want to express my appreciation for the amazing staff at Chancellor Gardens. We moved my mom into the facility in July. There is always a very friendly environment. Both staff and residents go out of their way to say hello and make everyone feel welcome. It has been a pleasure to hear my mom talk about conversations she has with friends when eating in the dining hall. My mom also loves to play a certain card game not being offered when she moved in. The staff found out the needed resources and helped to form groups that now meet weekly to play. This may sound like a small thing, but to my mom it was huge that the staff went out of their way for her enjoyment.

I have been so extremely impressed with the amazing team at Chancellor Gardens. It truly is a home environment, not at all clinical. As you walk the halls your are greeted by not only staff members but also Residents. Everyone seems so comfortable and happy there is such a Varity of activities. Something to for everyone even those residing in the Memory Care have a Varity of no fail activities to help keep them engaged throughout each day.So grateful my sweet Mother in Law was able to live out the winter season of her life with them caring for her.

My mom spent her last couple of years at Chancellor Gardens. She was on her late 80s and celebrated her 90th birthday here. The staff were wonderful and patient. They treated her and our family with dignity and kindness when she finally passed on. I cant thank them enough for all they did for my mother and our family.

Chancellor Gardens became “home” for both my parents when home was no longer an option. Chancellor Gardens took them in with open arms. Mom went to memory care where the staff was loving and professional. When the time came for Hospice, everything possible was done to ensure her comfort and care. Not only her care, but also for my father and family as they travelled in from out of state. After my Mom passed, my Father continued to receive wonderful care. The staff was there to help him meet residents and join in social activities. As his health declined, he was 97, the medical team and staff provided the attention needed. He received all his care on property. It was purposeful, necessary and professional. Again, Hospice came in and truly made his passing comfortable.Chancellor Gardens is well maintained, has professional leaders and caring staff.Thank you to all the staff that cared for my parents for over 2 years. Our family truly appreciates your kindness and care.Kym Wilson

Chancellor Gardens is amazing. Not only is it a great looking building, the people are even nicer. You can feel the difference as soon as you walk in. Everyone greeted me and offered to help me. There is a welcome home sign up front and that says it all. Food was great. The place smelled wonderful and this whole place just made me happy. I was looking for a place for my family and I have found it. Look at other places but I think you will come back like I did.

I cannot express my thanks eloquently enough for the past 5 years of care and comfort Chancellor Gardens has given first my dad and his girlfriend - Walt and Geri - and then the last year for my dad after Geris passing. My Dad passed almost a month ago, and saying goodbye to Chancellor staff wasnt like saying goodbye to family, it WAS saying goodbye to family. Rodney and Tammy have assembled a wonderful, caring staff. My father LOVED living there, all the friends he made with both residents and staff. My sister and I are forever grateful for the loving environment Dad and Geri were wrapped in for the final years of there lives. Thank you Chancellor Gardens.(the picture is my Dad with his grandson, my son, the last time we saw Dad before his passing)

My husband, father, and myself took a tour of the facility, and were we ever surprised! The staff was absolutely kind, patient with all of our questions, and they tailored the to tour based on our needs. We spent about 2 hours there, and I never felt we were putting them out.As we toured, the Aids, nurses, and anyone else who crossed our path was very friendly. If you are looking into this type of living for yourself or a loved one, I highly recommend a Chancellor Gardens tour. You will be pleased with the facility.

I can only speak for my experience with Chancellor Gardens, but I really liked the community and found everyone there to be absolutely wonderful! I highly recommend Chancellor Gardens if you are needing an assisted living facility! We had to place my mother there when we realized we could no longer care for her ourselves. She had Alzheimers and Dementia, but was in good health for an 80 year old. I was actually looking forward to a long term relationship with them, but she died unexpectedly after just 3 short months of being there. I loved going and visiting my mom there, and I now miss the interaction with the staff. The facility is great, the people were so friendly, and the food was good. I have no complaints and I just cant say enough good about Chancellor Gardens and all of its workers from the Executive Director all the way to the wait staff in the dining room, and everyone in between. Its not just the big things, but the little things like the wait staff knowing my mom loved her diet coke and chocolate ice cream and made sure she had it at her meals, without her even having to ask for it. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldnt change a thing. I was always comforted knowing that my mom was being well taken care of. Thank you Chancellor Gardens for making what for us was a difficult situation a pleasurable memory! I appreciate every one of you!

I am a physical therapist that comes to help residents at Chancellor Gardens at the patients request. I have seen several clients there over the last 3 years. There are several reasons I would recommend this facility to those seeking for assisted living! The staff are very caring and aware of their residents. They are also always friendly and smiling and you can tell they like what they do. The employees are happy and are consistent. The facility is clean, very nice, and well cared for. They have many great activities to keep the residents active physically, mentally, and socially. They are not afraid to advocate for their residents, even if it means getting after a home care company for forgetting to do something. :) There is also a nice exercise room for the residents to use whenever they like. All the residents I have met there would speak highly of their experience. I certainly cannot say that about many other assisted living facilities that I visit. Thank you, Chancellor Gardens, for making it easy for me to advocate for you!

This place may look nice, but they way they treat tenants and their families is horrendous. They are only about making money, and they dont care at all about the well being or happiness of their tenants. My grandma broke her hip and Chancellor Gardens wanted to just put her on hospice and keep her comfortable until she dies basically. We opted to send her to the hospital, where she had hip surgery. She then went to a rehabilitation center for a month, and Chancellor Gardens wont refund even the money that they charge for her level of care, even when they werent caring for her at all.Do not be fooled by their memory care! Thats not even a thing. They make it sound like some kind of therapy or treatment, but all it is, is a locked ward so people cannot escape the building.Be warned! They will use high pressure sales tactics to push you to sign papers and leave them a downpayment before you leave. Its insane to offer a $200 discount but only if you move in within 2 weeks, when every day that you wait to move in saves you $600.

As you walk into the building it is evident that it is well cared for and nicely decorated. The staff is very caring and helpful, they always have a smile and are very willing to assist in any way. They plan big events for the families of the residents like treat-or-treating and an Easter egg hunt and breakfast. My children always look forward to these as well as seeing their great-grandma. Our experience at Chancellor Gardens was wonderful! My dad had stayed at another facility, and did not do well. But from the minute he arrived at Chancellor Gardens, he was happy and adjusted instantly. He was a resident in their Connections for Living section and they know how to take care of those with Dementia. The staff was helpful and intuitive. They took such good care of him right up until he passed away. He was always clean and dressed nicely with his hair combed. His room was always neat and tidy. He ate well, and when he started to struggle, they made sure to help him. Sallie Huntington was always willing to answer any question we had and was always kind and good to us as family as well. The residents are having fun and the staff is fully engaged. The Dietary Manager plays poker every Wednesday with the residents. There3 are a lot of common areas, the building doesnt seem cramped. The building had a renovation a couple of years ago and is beautiful and clean. This team has been together forever and it shows.. Rodney Washburn is caring, fun ED. Tammy Hill, the Marketing Director always has a smile on her face. Nursing has an open door policy, there are always residents, families and medical staff interacting. There was many times she got injured and they could not explain why it happened. I understand some accidents happen and some falls occur but when she is a fall risk she should be watched more. And there were times that she hadnt been eatting or drinking and it was not handled in a proper way.

This facility cares more about marketing than their families and residents. It was very difficult to find a staff member to instruct me on what to do during our scheduled move in, making the transition really stressful for our loved one. When a family member arrived and asked to move our loved one out, the facility took legal and medical actions to keep our loved one in their system. At the ER, no doctor could give a medical reason why our loved one was there. If Chancellor Gardens will disobey family wishes and prioritize their wallet with a family member at the facility, I dont want to think what they would do without one there.I am so glad my loved one is no longer at Chancellor Gardens.

I havent personally had a loved one needing this kind of help, but have gotten to know the people at Chancellor Gardens over the last couple of months, and Ive seen the pride they take in community involvement, as well as hearing some of their staff talk about the residents. They genuinely love their jobs, and get a lot of joy out of working with them. That seems like an important thing when you hear a lot of stories about elder abuse and financial exploitation. I have become acquainted with some of the people in positions of responsibility and would definitely feel comfortable leaving a parent in their hands if that day ever comes.

Having to have had parents in other facilities in the area, I know that the level of care her was fabulous and the meals are OUTSTANDING!. Rodney and his staff have gone out of their way to make this a outstanding facility, showing care and concern for each and every patient. It is true that this is just my opinion, but if you knew all of the circumstance that went into caring for my brother, you too would know what a great facility that this place is. The sign that you see when you walk into this place Welcome Home is the true motto of the facility. They make the residents feel as that this is truly their home, and that is worth a million dollars! My ex wife passed away several years ago and I was the only semi family member to be available to assist them. The staff were very helpful and kind. My ex mother in law is now at another facility due to a stroke. The only issue Ive had is with money being stolen from the both of them. My father in law had $700 dollars stolen before he died and his wife had $60 dollars stolen when she was in the hospital with her stroke. I reported both thefts and the management listened and that was about it. They said not much they could do about it. I recommend this facility but dont keep anything valuable in your room, it will be stolen. There are some thieves there you need to watch out for.

Seems like a nice place with all the amentities. I went to check it out, as we were trying to help a relative find the perfect one. I have two concerns with this place. I have a friend whos MIL was placed here and they told them that Medicaid would pay, once the her money ran out and made it sound like a seamless process... But it was only after she was moved in and they are now in the process for Medicaid that they are finding it a NOT easy process. Theyve had to hire a lawyer... So be wary if it sounds too good/easy. Also, the day I happened to visit, there was a gal showing me around and I mentioned that my relative was still a little hesitant about making the leap and she said that she suggests getting them some Valium or xanax, for when they come to visit and told me a story of how they used this method with another hesitant resident and how they were able to get the future resident to take the pill and then later she was able to come into the building and see it and later moved in. It all sounded a bit shady. I would never feel comfortable drugging any of my relatives in an effort to convince them if something they werent comfortable with. At that point, the integrity of the place was not a place I would want my relative... Because one has to wonder if this is a common practice and what else goes on there.... Red flag for me.

I miss the hard-working employees, the friendly, welcoming, and fun management, and especially the exquisite meals I had too many of... ;) I wouldnt trade those two years for any other employment anywhere else. I learned, grew, and enjoyed every minute of my experience there. Chancellor gardens does a killer job as much with employees as they do with their residents. My grandmother who lived there in the assisted living side and later moved to the CFL part of chancellor had the most amazing care and she passed recently... Chancellor Gardens is one of the best assisted living communities that I have been involved with. Having worked in the senior industry for nearly 20 years, 13 of them being in Assisted Living, I have had the opportunity to work with and around a lot of industry professionals. The management as well as the staff are some of the most caring individuals that Ive ever worked with.In a recent visit with my husband (who does not work with seniors) he commented when we walked into the lobby that their community was so full of life. The residents are well taken care of, theyre happy and they are so busy living!Chancellor Gardens is a great example of what senior housing should be, the building is beautifully maintained, the kitchen provides excellent choices for diet needs as well as preferences, the recreation department keeps the calendar full and the residents active, and the staff make sure the needs, and often times just the wants, of their residents are a priority. Thanks to all those that make working with and for seniors their priority! We had both of our parents living at Chancellor Gardens for seven months. They were happy here and made several friends. During their stay they spent time on both the Assisted Living side and then moved to Memory Care. Most of the staff were great. It is so comforting to see so many who are there because they love the job and what they do. It is hard to find in CNAs and I was grateful to find most of the staff were happy to be there. I would like to give a shout out to Quincy (CNA) and Amy (Med Tech) on the AL side for going above and beyond. They truly love the residence and become a friend as well as a caretaker. Chancellor Gardens has a full calander of activities, field trips and programs with lots of happy residents. The only down falls is their billing processes. It is very difficult to understand the billing especially if you have two people. The levels of care are on a point system so in our circumstances we were always confused on what care should be included with the amount we were paying on the AL side. It is more defined in Memory Care. Thank you to all the staff in the memory care unit as well. They do a great job and our parents were happy here.

I guess I am rating the evaluation experience more than anything else. I was looking for a place for my 70 year old father and thought I had found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow when I found Chancellor Gardens. My father is still very physically independent but has dementia so he doesnt qualify for skilled nursing facilities. I spoke at length with Abby Neville and was assured that CG took patients ranging from those with symptoms like my dad to those with end stage Alzheimer disease. So I was then turned over to a woman named Tammy. I told her I definitely wanted an apartment and was driving down that night, I live in 2 hours north of Salt Lake, to put down the deposit and an evaluation was scheduled. As soon as my son arrived home from school at 3:15 we hopped in the car and headed out. Just as we were about to arrive I received a phone call from my representative from A Place for Mom, which is amazing by the way, saying that Chancellor Gardens had been trying to reach me and could not take my father. Funny thing my phone had not rung the entire time we had been driving, So we turned around and came home, another hour and a half drive. When I got home I check my phone log, no calls from Chancellor Gardens, only a text from Abby at 3:50 saying to call them before I left because Tammy had some questions. I had made it clear to Tammy when I talked to her earlier that I in order to make there before 5 I had to leave shortly after 5. So these women ha lied to my Place for Mom Rep, they hadnt tried to reach me, they just didnt want to tel me themselves so they dumped on him and had him dump on me. Now for the best part. My husband called Tammy the next morning to find out why they couldnt take my father. Her answer...because he needed Memory Care and they werent set up for Memory Care. Gee unless I read the ad wrong that is what their ad is all about and after spending hours on the phone with Abby who assured me their Memory Care Unit was one of top in the state and how proud they were of their Memory Care Unit boy do I feel dumb for mis understanding that they dont have a Memory Care Unit. So as a result the hospital in which my father was staying released him to homeless shelter WITHOUT telling us. Luckily a he thought to have a case worker at the shelter call us using his cell phone once the hospital dumped him. I realize business is business but dont fall for the we care about loved and you, garbage spouts. They dont care about anything except where they can get their next buck. I have an issue with people who lie and cowards and Tammy and Abby are apparently both. Dont trust these people and apparently dont believe their ad, they dont have Memory Care or so they say if you have the less than perfect patient.

My 59-year-old husband passed away in April 2017 of Dementia, and I dont know how I would have done it without Jess, Caitlyn, Sally, Olivia and a team of others to help Cody on his way home. My heart is full as I think of ALL the steps Chancellor helped me take: when I first met with Tammy and Carli, I felt hopeful and supported for the first time in YEARS. I knew I didnt have to face this journey alone, as they already have in place a team of palliative care doctors and nurses, on-site Hospice representatives, on-site prescription management specialists--not to mention the WONDERFUL CNAs who bathed, fed, dressed and cared about Cody until the end. I love (I still go visit!) the Welcome Home sign in the front entrance, the yummy smells, the baking cookies and homemade bread. Theres always the same group of ladies playing bridge; someone singing or playing the piano; therapy dogs or yoga instructors walking around. And in the Memory Care unit, I love the wide open hallways, the large skylights which let in sunlight, and the Frank Sinatra movies playing. The night Cody was dying, even though some night shift workers were not working, they made the drive at 11:00 at night to say good-bye and kiss him on the forehead. My husband was able to die in peace and quiet, his body cared for by Christina and Cali, as they bathed him, combed his hair, kept his lips moistened, and gently rubbed his dry skin with oil to keep him comfortable. As I watched their tender ministrations to him, I felt their love for their work and their respect for each person they care for. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Chancellor Gardens, and pray Gods choicest blessings upon everyone who works there.

Each and every team member has a heart for the residents they serve and they go out of their way to show it!Rodney Washburn is the director and cares immensely for the staff and residents. I have observed the interactions between both staff and residents. This is not just a place to live, it feels like home. I don’t hesitate in referring my clients to Chancellor if they choose to move from their own home. I know without a doubt they’ll get the love and care they deserve.Sometimes it’s the smallest details that matter…The holding of a hand, the reassurance, knowing the basic sign language to communicate effectively with a resident, surprising a resident with their favorite treat to say, I’m thinking about you…whatever it is, the deed is never too big or too small. From the director, to admissions, social work, director of sales, nursing, activities, cna’s, memory care staff, receptionist, and their AMAZING chef, Johnny….this team is bound to deliver the best care for your loved one. It’s an A team! I’m very proud to know and work with each one of them.If my mother lived in state, I would want to see her at Chancellor. Chancellor Gardens is one of the finest assisted living communities around!- Wendy SpradleyVisiting Angels

I wanted to take the time to publicly thank and praise the staff of Chancellor Gardens Assisted Living. When I was first looking for a place to move my mother we toured many facilities. There was just something about Chancellor Gardens when you walk in the door that makes it feel like home! Even better they have a big sign in their lobby that says Welcome Home, I knew this was the place for my mom. The staff are always running around, smiling and selflessly helping the residents of their communities. The staff know each and every single residents by name and are so attentive to their needs. My mom isnt the most patient lady youll ever meet, and the staff showed up with a smile to assist her no matter the situation. You can clearly tell that MBK senior living cares for their employees and staff and treats them well. The management team works so closely together and communicate so well, they would all know and have the situation solved before I even got a chance to complain. Rodney Washburn is a true example of what a leader should be. You can tell he is about the residents and their rights and needs as well as caring for his staff. Were so grateful for the nursing staff that cared for our mother in her last days. They were constantly in checking on her, rotating her, making sure she was dry and comfortable. One CNA even took time to massage her hands and her feet when she was in her last hours of life. The dining staff brought us a beautiful tray of goodies and drinks for our family to have as we said our goodbyes. I want to thank you all for the bottom of my heart. I would highly encourage all who are looking to place their loved ones in a beautiful environment to go to Chancellor Gardens.

I was very, very unhappy with this place. My 91yo uncle was there for about half a year. I spent the better part of 3 weeks there with him daily, about 8 hours/day. I was outraged at the experience he suffered there. There are so many problems I could write a book about this. First, they had real problems keeping his meds straight. Theyd get it right one day, but not the next, or from one shift to anther. There were several changes to his meds and it typically took a long time (i.e. 2 weeks) to get it straight even with me hounding them on it daily. There was quite a lack of follow through on the meds and other issues. One time upon doctors orders we were supposed to get him on a dietary supplement. I bought it and brought it to the facility. After I realized they werent giving it to him I talked to the nursing director. I was then told that they had to have it in writing from the Doctor. Why wasnt I told that when I first requested it? Got the doctor to fax over a prescription for it even though it was over the counter. He said to give it according to instructions on the package. Days went by and it still hadnt come online. When I checked with the nursing director she said that it was because it didnt give the exact dosing instructions. Again, why didnt she come to me or another family member rather than just shelving it? Finally, after about 2 weeks FINALLY they started doing it. Also, he was on a medication that was causing problems. Asked them to remove it. Next time they didnt give it to him. Time after that they did, and so it went for quite some time before they finally got it right. And this was with me complaining about it daily! As he declined we realized we needed a higher level of care and requested that (at additional cost). This was to include checking on him every 2 hours, assistance with showering in the morning, etc. Again, I would come in and find that none of it was being done. It was at least 2 weeks after requested before it was all finally happening. And I believe we were being charged for the higher level of care in the meantime! There seems to be a systemic communication problem where the left hand does not know what the right is doing. Finally, the meals there are the worst I have ever experienced! Throughout my life I have eaten in a lot of facilities including institutional cafeterias (military, schools, etc) and even the dining car on the Trans-Siberian express during the Soviet Union era. I have never had such consistently bad food. My uncle complained about it bitterly and he was loosing weight because all he would eat was a couple of bites and the ice cream for desert. We had to get him Boost and Ensure as meal replacements. I ate 2 meals a day with him for almost 3 weeks and I can assure you it was not just him. I had to choke it down myself and everyone else I spoke to there complained bitterly about the food. Eat one meal there and youll immediately understand!I was so busy filling in the gaps on a daily basis for almost 3 weeks that I was exhausted daily. And this on top of what was already being paid for.About the only positive thing I can say is that when he pushed the call button for assistance usually the aids showed up typically within 5 minutes and they were very caring and conscientious in providing care for him. I got the feeling that the aids really cared about the residents and wanted to do the best they could for them, but were understaffed. Also, evidently they had a high turnover rate. One of the aids confided in me that the longest aid had only been there about 9 months.I had another family member call me because they knew we had my uncle there and they are looking for a place for their mother. Just talking about it again prompted me to write this review. I was disgusted and outraged. Certainly would not recommend this place for anyones love one.Unless someone can be there daily to oversee their care I dont think your loved one would get what they are paying for unless something dramatic has changed recently!

What poor service!!! We had a patient come in today and he had to have an ingrown toenail procedure done. I called to see if the nurse at the facility could change his bandage for him because he has a hard time putting his shoes on let alone putting on a bandage and she said no they didnt do that. They patient now has to drive back to the office tomorrow just to change a bandage.
