I brought my 14 month old in for a possible stitch on his head from a fall. The receptionist was kind enough to check with the doctor if this was something they could handle (stitch on this age) before checking me in. The doctor graciously came out into the waiting area and assessed my child’s cut. Fortunately no stitch needed, and we were so impressed to have received that kindness. We were very happy that the receptionist did not just check us in, to wait a lengthy amount of time with the off chance it was something they couldn’t do on location. Very impressed with the patient centered care we received. Thank you!

I went in on Monday (Labor Day) and my entire wait was less than 30 mins. They weren’t very busy, only one other person in front of me. Once I was called back, the whole visit went smooth and efficient. Both the nurse and the PA (wish I could remember their names) were very professional. They were caring and kind. They made me feel comfortable during my visit.

Place is a joke. Saw a PA named Bryan for abdominal trauma and he was so blah about it. Said there was nothing he could do and sent me to the hospital for an ultrasound. No bedside manner at all. He totally acted like I was a burden to him. Said he would give me a call AS SOON as the results were in. Its been 6 hours and still no call. I called them and the terrible receptionist said youll just have to wait. Hes too busy to talk to you. Too busy? Hes had 6 hours! Unless all hospitals in the world are closed, I will not go here again.

I am a physician myself at UNC. Today I went to this location as a patient because I have been sick myself. May I suggest that the front desk staff undergo basic courtesy training. I called earlier during the day to ask about wait times, and was very rudely and inaccurately told “we cannot tell you wait times, you just come here and find out.” Then I went to the location, and was told that the wait time is 2 hours (why couldn’t they say that over the phone??). Haven’t had good interactions with the front desk employees previously either. Thoroughly disappointed.

I got there a hour before closing. The 1st thing the lady at the desk said was we close at 8 its going to be a 2 to 3 hour wait and you will have to wait in the car. I asked well does that mean I wont be seen. Then when she realized I still wanted to stay I was able to sit on the inside. Waut time was less than she stated. Then when I get to the back Dr Bryan Edward asks whats wrong..I tell him first thing he says is its 8 oclock. He gave me every reason on why he could help me. When I shut down his reasons he was like well we just cant do it. The only thing that staff cared about was getting out on time.. I see why they have 3 stars

I suggest to close this place and let your employees find another jobs because they didn’t care about nothing… and UNC urgent care is a big joke human not they’re first priority but his money, his insurance is the top priority for them. 😡 WF

Horrible place. Two ladies at the front desk have no manners. While trying to check in they kept gasping and tapping on their desk like we were bothering them. Then started talking among themselves about whether or not they could see us. We were not there for any COVID symptoms. Very unprofessional. We just decided to go to the emergency room across the street.

Went two weeks in a row, and both times was not seen until an hour after my appointment time. Paid fees upfront, then was billed for more than the original fees cost 3 weeks later... with no explanation, after asking the PAs whether I would get further bills and them telling me that I would not. While they were kind enough and mostly professional, they strongly suggested I go to a surgical consult (for something which almost certainly would not warrant this -- and did not after all -- based upon what I know as a medical professional myself). I told them that I would speak to a surgeon if absolutely needed, but that I did not wish to do so at the time. I explicitly stated this, but received multiple phone calls from a surgery department regardless. Soliciting my contact information after hearing my wishes not to do so, and billing me without description as to why, despite telling me they wouldnt and without my knowledge nor consent of the services rendered for the bill... Both questionably illegal, and undoubtedly immoral. Will not return.

BEWARE. This Urgent Care should not be considered if you are a poor sad self pay patient like me. Trust me they are unethical in their billing practices. UNC Urgent Care charges an up front fee to self pay patients calling it an office visit at the time of service. I was seen for a sore throat. They checked my blood pressure, temperature, weighed me and looked in my ears and throat. God I got fat! Oh, and swabbed my throat for strep. My visit was under 30 minutes. Two months later I received a large bill from UNC. Wt? On the bill it called my office visit a “copay” Uh oh!!! Not good! I contacted the billing department and office manager very wary confused by the additional charges. It seems that UNC Urgent Care can and will bill self pay patients for any little ol thing the deem appropriate. They come up with some pretty creative stuff. The office manager called my bill a bill for “extra allotted time”and charged me a little more for the strep because,…. because they could! UNC Urgent Care you are not billing an insurance company you are billing an individual. A SELF PAY patient has a legal right to be informed upfront of any and all charges. A patient has the right to be told that the initial amount paid for the visit does not cover the visit in it’s entirety. How do you expect a patient to make an informed decision about weather or not to be seen in your office if you are withholding information about your billing practices for self pay patients? I could have and WOULD have said “oh no I can’t afford a bunch of extra money billed to me after I leave . I”ll get some throat spray from Walgreens and see how I feel in a day or two.”

Visited UNC Urgent Care on January 15, 2021 due to COVID.. Visit with my Dr was not rushed, and, my COVID questions were addressed. I previously had been turned away from a couple of other urgent care facilities due to having Covid. I was very sick, and scared, and this urgent care facility eased my anxiety. UNC Urgent Care provided excellent care for me, and, I also received an infusion of a new drug to boost my immune system. I felt the results of the infusion the next day, and I am finally beyond Covid. Thank you UNC Urgent Care for evaluating me, and, taking care of me, when other facilities would not see me. My Dr was awesome, as well as the other staff members.. Thanks again!!!!

The staff was nice enough, but the overall visit felt rushed. I felt that all they cared about was insurance (which I have) and getting me to sign various papers. The tech that helped was nice but the provider who ended up seeing me didn’t seem very comfortable with giving any sort of helpful information. Ultimately I was referred to a specialist, which I now feel I could have gone directly to instead of wasting my time there. The doctor didn’t say anything regarding what to do while I waited for the specialist to call me. The information given around the referral was also not specific enough for me to be able to know where I was going. The X-ray tech was nice, but the doctor definitely has areas of opportunity to focus on. I know this is coming from someone with no medical experience, but at the end of the day I only have how I was made to feel to base my visit on, and the visit felt impersonal and not helpful.

Not happy with the experience at all. I went in because I was having a very bad reaction to some poison ivy. The doctor didnt seem to know what to do. He said he wanted to send me to the ER but I asked him what they would do that he couldnt do. Finally he gave me a steroid shot and prescribed some steroids for me to continue taking. He put some marks on my arm where there was some swelling and told me to go the ER if it got worse. I asked him how long I should wait to see the effects and he said that if it got any worse to go to the ER. I once again asked if I should wait 24 hours or something because the the effects probably wouldnt be immediate. He disagreed so I thought this must be way worse than I thought. About 8 hours later I noticed that the swelling had gotten a little worse so I went to the ER, per his instructions. The doctor in the ER saw me and I explained everything. His response was that medicine and steroids dont take effect immediately but I should wait 24 to 48 hours after taking them to allow them to work. Now that its been 48 hours since seeing the doctor at the Urgent Care, everything is fine, but now, on top of wasting time going and sitting in the ER, Im sure Ill get a bill from the ER because the doctor at the Urgent Care didnt know that medicine doesnt take effect immediately but you should wait 24 hours to allow it to work.

We have been here about 15 times since they opened. They always get us in and out quickly, and effectively diagnose us. They are limited in xray tech and you must call ahead so they can warm up the machine, otherwise, you go across the street to ER.

Dont bother using the appointment app because they didnt see my wife until 45 minutes after the set appointment time. The only reason for the 2 star is because the staff is friendly, knowledgable, and will get you treated eventually. They need to work on the time management portion of their service.

Terrible experience! The rude robotic young girl in reception that couldn’t be bothered to be personable and the tech that was forced to do a throat swab she wasn’t comfortable were bad enough. Then, after the exam and diagnosis, the doctor decided my overall chart wasn’t complete enough for her and it was her place to come back in the room to pry into my personal medical history. Information that had absolutely nothing at all to do with why I came in and was absolutely not necessary for her to know in order to treat me today. She could clearly see I have a regular provider, my upcoming appointment is on page one of my after care instructions. All I wanted was to avoid driving to Raleigh for a strep test. I’ll stick with FastMed.

Don’t waste your time here. I got called back pretty fast but the nurse didn’t even take my vitals or ask why I was there she just said I can’t help you here head across the rd to the er. I got to the unc er and they took me in did exactly what an urgent care can do. I told the nurse at the er I was sorry I went to the urgent care across the street but she just sent me here and the nurse replies with they always do that.

I was very disappointed in my short visit. I arrived 2 hours before their scheduled closing time and commented to my sick child that there were not many cars in the parking lot so we should not have to wait long. Once inside there were only 2 other people in the waiting room. I was told by a very rude and abrupt young lady at the front desk that they had met their quota for the day and were not seeing anymore patients. I was told they posted a note on the door but it was so small that I did not notice it as I entered the building. I will not be going back again.

Absolutely terrible customer service. You will never reach someone by phone but they require you to call and make an appointment. The building was completely empty but they told us the wait was two hours, in our car or outside, because their staff was on lunch. Mind you, I had a new baby in tow and tried multiple times to call ahead. I cannot believe this location is even operating.
