I have been going to Clarksville VA clinic since my retirement in 2009. I do not remember having a bad experience at this clinic. I have been approached with nothing but respect. My nurse Rita Johnson is the best. She goes over and beyond for me and provides insight on services the VA clinic offers vets.

Took my dad in for his yearly check up and also brought up other things that were going on with him due to recent life events. They answered prayers and got the help he needed. They did not waste time getting the help either we had 100% resolution by Thursday and his appointment was on Tuesday. Thank you all so much .

Went hear on a Monday morning as a walk-in to get my picture taken for my VHIC. I waited for 10 mins, got called in and got it done. The nice lady said I’ll get in the mail in the next week or so.I needed an appointment for a primary care provider— I went up the front desk and the nice gentleman got me on the list to be seen, he said I can call back in a day or two to see where I’m at in the line to get seen. He went ahead and gave me this packet about Urgent Cares in Clarksville that the VA covers for 3 visits, and anything after will be $30 copay. It put me at ease that if anything happens, emergency wise, I can go to an Urgent Care while I wait to get seen by a primary care provider.I think it’s important to understand that there are ALOT of veterans who needs care, and not to mention, this is one of the only VA clinics out here— hence the long wait for appointments. Yes, it’s not convenient, but I don’t think it’s the staff’s fault.I liked my visit here. Thanks for the help!

Im far from a fan of the overall VA but the staff here are absolutely amazing from the entry way people checking Temps and helping guide people where to go, to the receptionists and then my primary care provider along with the lady who just taught me new things about knees and how it all works and finally the lovely young lady scheduling my follow up.I was having a terrible time yesterday trying to contact VA in Nashville to no success and then clarksville VA stepped up and the most amazing gentleman called me and handled everything while I was being well lets say rude! Got an appointment the next day! I love everyone here SIMPLY THE BEST PEOPLE!

Now I understand why it has 2.9 star reviews. Actually this place does not deserve even that. Rude! Unprofessional front receptionist working here... bad start!! “Veterans first” are all nice propaganda. Disappointing and confusing that if they are there to provide or we go there to provide their job security.

Ive been with this facility since 2016 and the professionalism at the front desk is decreasing. While some reviews point out people working there are prior military so their attitudes may come of as hostile, that makes absolutely no sense. The job requirement is to provide upstanding care to veterans and that includes courteousness when booking appointments. If those requirements cannot be meet, than best to find employment elsewhere. I personally know a few people on the staff. Didnt care for those individuals when I was in the military and dont care for them now, but I do expect them to be professional and cordial because this is where many others and I receive care. No one should have to put up with subpar care from staff members, whether they are veterans or not! The plus side to this facility are the medical care providers. This care has not changed, regardless of how many providers come and go. Its shocking to see how the providers remain professional and caring. The providers and nurses will go out of their way to help in any way they can.

This doctor (pavuluri) has NO EMPATHY for her patient!!! After EVERY appointment, my son was in tears and felt WORSE than he did before speaking with her. If she does care...she has a hell of a way showing it!!! No mental patient should feel worse AFTER speaking with their doctor because of the way the Dr spoke to them. My son is a young disabled veteran who has mental issues and she made him feel worse every time he spoke with her. Find help elsewhere because SHE IS NOT IT!!!

So, let me say this first, Great clinic and it does have its issues, but hands down one of the best I have been to. I have been in the VA system for four years, I do use BACH/ Eagle Clinic near TENNOVA too.I feel a lot of the negative reviews are uncalled for. If you wonder why people are rude, most of the people who work here are former members of the military themselves...so, just saying. A bunch of grouchy Vets on both sides of the desk I guess. I have not had an issue with any of them.I have called and had to leave messages, but they have always responded, Unlike many of the other Va clinics I have been to in other states. So, I do not know what these others are talking about. There have been times, I have had to wait a month or two for an appointment, but you do have the option to go to other places, there is a system within the VA to do that instead of going here. You just need to dig a little.I did have ONE and only one bad experience with a blood draw, the gentleman didnt disinfect the site where he was going to draw my blood. I asked him if he was going to after he uncapped the needle...he looked like I had just asked him to stab himself. I was a little terse and asked him, did they change how you are suppose to draw blood or what? Anyway, I told the Dr when I saw him, I have not seen that person on my last few visits. All that said, I have gotten decent response for medical care and when I have seen the Dr or a nurse, it has always been a pleasant experience. The facility is fantastic. The fellow Vets that I see go in there, I feel some havent done their own due diligence to get the care they need.( I do overhear them complaining and the staff trying to explain ). Some want to be spoon fed.My Advice to fellow Vets: Do not sit at home waiting, people do get busy and you are not the only person in the system. Take responsibility for your care is all I am saying. Do some research and actually read the information that is available to you. You have better care than most Americans and its freaking free to you. These people will work as hard as you do. They are all good and hard working men and women and I appreciate their hard work and efforts. I dont think I could work here and put up with I have seen some of them put up with.Thank you, I do appreciate you all there.

Im not sure why there are so many negative reviews here. I went yesterday to get some X-Rays done, received clear instruction from the front desk, without any negative attention from the staff, quite the opposite actually.. I was in and out in 10-15 minutes. The older gentleman whom volunteered to help direct me to radiology was kind and humorous. The radiologist was amazing as well, nice and quick with her work. This is a great clinic, and a reasonable distance from me over here in Stewart County.

I waited an hour for a VA ID and still didnt get one because I was never called. Why request veterans to get ids and they cant get them? Then I requested to be taken out of the queue because I refused to wait further but the receptionist couldnt understand what I saying. I just wanted to not hold up the line for those waiting after me since I knew I was leaving. Why is that a hard concept to understand. Complete waste of time and no consideration.

I have only been to the new location 3 times and each time I have been treated with respect and kindness. So my husband waits 2 months for an appointment. Now they said he needs physical therapy among other things. But he has to wait another 3 months to be able to schedule it?????oh and it was nice that the doctor told him, when I go home I want nothing to do with this job and it’s patients. So take Home the medical history you wrote down for me, because I don’t have time to read it. Makes a person feel real great. I thought doctors are supposed to care about their patients. Very disappointing experience. You serve your country. You are 100% disabled. And then??? You get treated like this. Update. 2 1/2 weeks later. Still waiting for medication. Was supposed be sent in the mail. Maybe next year. And the phone number they give you to check on it, all you get is a voicemail about their hours even if you call during their hours. They really care about the veterans. They show it every time you go there. NOT

I have been to numerous VA doctors around the country. This is the one place that infuriates me. The RN and staff for Dr. West are great and I dont want to shoot the messenger. Dr. West has been MIA for months now and there hasnt been a replacement for him. I have had my appointments rescheduled every month since February. I hopefully will have my appointment in September when it is scheduled now. The RN and staff are able to quickly and easily get my referrals out by going through other docs while mine has been missing. I now have just received an EOB from private insurance I dont use claiming I will owe $1800 for medical done in house and requested by them. How did they get insurance information I never gave them? Why are they sending out medical claims to a private insurance when my medical is supposed to be covered 100% by the VA?

Been with this VA for 3 years now. All I can say is Dr Cardenas saved my life. I had what I thought was minor chest pains but he proceeded to run EKG, then referred me to stress test. Finally did Heart Cath and they found a 99.5% blockage of the LAD (widow maker). If he had not gone above and beyond, I probably wouldnt have been around much longer. Also, never meet a bad person in this place. The staff always helpful and there is one in particular gentleman who works at the front desk who on 3 different occasions that I was there walked the waiting area to make sure we were ok and keep us updated on the status of our appointment.

First VA appointment. I now see what the fuss is about. Never in my life have I met a more arrogant, incompetent and rude staff and doctor. Every other doctor is doing it wrong according to them, but they dont have any new ways to fix things, just that we are seeking the wrong treatment and Im on the wrong medication. What we have in place, and solutions we have found over the last 3 years cat be right. He didnt offer any thing better, or different, only that what we have found to work is wrong. How does the VA hire a doctor with zero knowledge of the army. He asked how I got hurt and I had to explain what a deployment was.....Thank God I have Tricare for life. Ill be going to regular doctor. If you think Army doctors are clowns, wait till you meet these guys.

I have had good and bad experiences in the VA just like any other Vet. This new clinic is nice they are trying, the last I checked was about 5 months ago, to get a glasses prescription filling site on the grounds to save us driving 1+ hours away to be seen by a VA doc. Having that will be of great help. New radiology as well no more driving to Nashville for an x-ray. It is a big improvement over the old facility. From the clean new look to the improvement on tech there is much to be said about the expirences you will have. Just remember it is a VA so there are to be some sore spots. Keep a some what open mind.

The phone extension to the clinic does not work properly so it is quite difficult to speak with a human representative, let alone make an appointment. Also, based on my experiences, referrals often get lost in the system or are not communicated properly from the PCM and I have to call my PCM to resend them or make new appointments to ask for another referral for the same issue months later - when the phone system doesnt hang up on me and someone from the office can actually answer.I definitely understand that there are few administrative/clerical employees compared to the volume of patients, but there are almost always ways to improve. That all being said, I do think some of the professionals there work very hard to help patients.

I wish I could give this zero stars. First issue I had was getting things for my sleep apnea issue. I turned the last sleep study in, in March, it took them until September to get it even put in the system. Currently Ive been dealing with what a couple PAs have said is probably a turn rotator cuff, and an going on a 4+ month long circus with their staff on getting an MRI done. If you have the option to go somewhere else, I would highly suggest it.

1. Told me I needed to go to Nashville campus to apply for eligibility. Drive to Nashville, “You are at 90%. Any VA can process your eligibility”2. Went in at 1545 to authenticate MyhealthEvet account. Clerk looks at bottom corner of computer for time. Tells me volunteer services handle that and I will have to come back when volunteers are available. Not a true statement. After talking to A supervisor, this was excused as “we just hired a lot of new people”. Interpreted as “we have people up front that are new/so lazy, they cannot get off their 4th point of contact to ask a more experienced VA employee for correct answer.”3. Was told that I would receive a call from either the front desk supervisor or Mr. Andrew Richart, patient advocate, would “give me a call”. Wait...wait...call him myself... Left voicemails...still waiting to hear back.

After checking in 15 mins early at the front desk because the kiosks were down. I sat and patiently waited 30 mins to find out the “new” girl didn’t check me in properly and actually marked me as a no show. Then that gets resolved get to the back an hr after arrival and wait another 45 mins and still not seen by my doctor. Oh by this time I was pissed told them to reschedule and that if I need to I could go to Tenova medical center where at least patients aren’t forgotten. Then leaving we have to go out the emergency exits because the va campus police say the main doors are locked. After leaving the doors magically unlock for an elderly couple. The new Va in Clarksville TN is living up to expectations of the Va system. They should of stayed put where they were at at least their I got seen in a timely manner
