My mother was here five years ago and I was there about a month ago. I like the way they are respectful, the way they greet you in the morning, they’re there to work and work hard and they always do it with a smile. If you need care for a family member, close friend, or anyone that needs care I would recommend this place to anyone. These people go out of their ways for you and make you feel like part of the family, I’ve been to other facilities but I picked this one because of how well they did with my 87 year old mother who is now doing very well. Based on my experience and the experiences with my mother I would rank this place number one in all of San Diego. There was one nurse that would bring me my snacks and always helped me with exercises and now my arm is at 90%.

My family and I will forever be thankful to this facility during these hard times of a nation wide pandemic. Thank you for the outstanding nurses and staff members that chose to take care of my grandfather rather then be at home. The team here are true heroes. I will recommend this facility to anyone seeking a successful rehab/nursing facility that truly cares for their patients. Thank you.

If I could rate South Bay Post Acute Care a minus i would! The receptionist is very rude and had actually hung the phone up on me!I hade a dinner delivery for my husband and the Uber had called me to let me know that a nurse had told him to deliver to the front gate. My instructions had been to deliver to the back of the building and give to receptionist. Well he called me back and stated that a nurse had told him to deliver to the front gate. So I called the receptionist what the nurse had told him. The receptionist then in turn and told me there was no way a nurse could have told him that. I stated that is what he was saying. I then asked her to please get my husbands dinner. Click she hung up!This was not the first time she had been rude to me.The first day of a visit i sign in and she turns her back to me and leaves. So i am just standing there saying to myself. Ok now where do i go for my visit. She comes back about five min later with the Activity Nurse who in turn takes me back to see my husband. This has happen twice. The wound care nurse was 4 days late on changing his bandages!WHATS NEXT!!!JUST PLAIN RUDE!!

If you care about your family members or friends please don’t bring them here. They’re not taking the proper measurements to deal with COVID-19. My uncle was diagnosed with COVID-19 while at this facility. They told us they were transferring him to a hospital. We kept calling the hospital and we were told he wasn’t there yet. They took a day in a half to transport him and the hospital is near the facility. The doctor at the hospital told us he got there unconscious because the nursing home took too long to transfer him and they don’t have the oxygen he needed at the nursing home. We asked the nursing home why they didn’t transfer him as soon as possible if he was having problems breathing and they couldn’t give us a proper answer. The pulmonologist said that because the nursing home had taken a while to transfer him he has severe lung damage and that they should have noticed something was wrong with him a few days before that.

Spent 6 weeks here. The staff was great. They all took very good care of me. I am an independent person and was there for a 6 week IV treatment. I thank all staff and want to recognize staff members Leila, Brandy, Cassie, Grace, Ruby, Eden and Angel for their care. I especially want to thank treatment nurses Genn and Lisa. These young ladies saw me everyday and took very good care of the wounds on my feet and I am forever grateful. Thanks again South Bay Post Acute!

If you are considering this place for a loved one please follow advice I wish I had had at the time and dont do it. This place was beyond horrible, I took my mom out of here after a horrible two and a half days. As soon you enter the facility the smell of urine and feces hits you. The place is very run down and not sanitary. The outside is very deceiving as it looks like a nice place. This facility is beyond horrible and negligent, I am shocked they have not been shut down but I believe that is coming soon. They left my mom sitting in her own urine for over an hour after they took out her catheter and did not clean her. They took very long to respond the times she called them and the staff is completely negligent and untrustworthy. I am filing a formal complaint with the city against them and I encourage anyone else who has been in this facility to do the same. Read the other reviews on here and you will see why this place needs to be shut down immediately. I wish I had paid more attention to the reviews this place has on here and also online before I put my mom through being here. She now has a rash in her crotch because they were not changing her diapers and has been through so much and this place was horrible to both her and myself. I am doing everything in my power to have this place closed down so nobody else has to go through what we have gone through this week.

Staff is very un-professional in ALL DEPARTMENTS!! My amputation site got infected 4 times before my surgeon requested I dont go back there. They setup transportation to/from hospital and doctors appointments and every single time it was made for a wrong time, different day or didnt even show up! I DO NOT RECOMMEND staying here or having your loved ones here. Please go anywhere else, but not here.

Simply inhumane. DO NOT take your loved one here. Take a walk in there. There is no security for starters anyone can walk in anytime. My aunt was in there for just a few days and we could not get her out of there fast enough. They have a comunal bathroom for the patients no AC. The place is filthy and smells of urine and feces. They are negligent they put a diaper on my aunt which she never needed and let her sit in her waste for hours before attending her. They fed her spoiled food and failed to give her, her medication on time. It appears that some patients there are in agony and they are simply ignored. The walls are filthy and their curtains in the rooms as well. There is absolutely no regard for the patients needs. I am surprised they are still open. If you’re loved one is there please rescue them. If you are considering taking your loved one there. Scratch it from your list. They are negligent and incompetent.

Horrible! Do not send a family member here. The nursing staff are incompetent with wound care that put my friend at serious risk of infection. It smells. The place is in serious need of repair and updating. showers are corroded, the beds are broken, and staff have poor knowledge of current nursing standards of care.

The nursing staff was friendly and did their job well. My sister, mother and I had a good rapport with several members on the staff. The facility is clean, but it is an old building and has a musty smell. However, BEWARE, the administrator, Angel, is very unprofessional. She lies and does not return calls. The Social Workers also have a difficult time remembering the truth and returning calls. Before Christmas 2013, my mother was in Respiratory Distress and Congestive Heart Failure and had 911 called by the staff at Collingwood. At this time, her designer Dior glasses mysteriously disappeared, along with Molly, the person who last handled them. This person made up a ridiculous story stating that my mom wanted her glasses on before she was rushed to the ER and placed on a ventilator for nine days. How ridiculous is that story!?! My mother was dying!!! That same person conveniently stopped working at Collingwood Manor a couple days later. We found this out through a staff member. The hospital records show my mom did not come in with any personal property. (My mother bought the designer glasses to celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary. The glasses meant even more to my mom because my father passed away in January 2013. She was heartbroken when she found out they were gone!)When trying to get this matter settled, my sister and I received the run-around from the social workers and the administrator for over a month. We were told we would be called back several times. The calls never came. When I tried to see Angel, I was told she was busy! On January 30, 2014, my moms final day at Collingwood, I FINALLY spoke to Angel, she guaranteed me that she would have the glasses replaced. She told me she knew they had sentimental value to my mother and wanted her happy. Angel was given the receipt and place of purchase. She said she would call the Eye Physicians Medical Center within a day or two and the glasses would be replaced with the same pair. THAT CALL WAS NEVER PLACED! I have called Angel and left messages; like before and to this day, February 26, 2014, I have not been called back! BEWARE!!! If you have any issues, GOOD LUCK!!!
