Doctor Jennifer Jothen shoud be reviewed by a board. She has got to be the most arrogant overbearing person I have ever met. She came to the ICU to speak to us about the delicate condition of a dying relative and when we asked her about the current condition of our loved one she said that was a vague question that we should ask a smarter question. Then she left the room without letting us know anything about the issue nor the health of her patient. The nurse said she would not be coming back because she thought we were recording her diagnostics. I dont believe she is even competent. If you can avoid her do so. We got stuck with her at Sharp Hospital..

I recently went in for Emergency stent in my Carotid artery due to the effects of Radiation in the 70s as a kid. Dr Jothen was awsome she showed up to the room everyday listening to my requests to stay awake during the proceedure . She communicated witht he right Dr to do it and everything went smoith because of her guidence I would recomend her to anyone . Thankyou.

I honestly do not understand how anyone could give this doctor more than one star unless its a personal friend. I had three, very negative experiences with her when I took my mother with Parkinsons to see her. She was always late, and would arrive in the patient room texting on her phone. She was rude and demaning, and when I asked a question her response in front of my mom was why do you care? Your mom will never remember this conversation. Sadly, my mom did understand, and she left in tears and was so embarrassed about her illness. This doctor lacks empathy, and has zero concern for her patients or her patients feelings. Eventually someone will report her to the Medical Board, because theres no way she can continue her practice in this way. My mother passed away last April, but the affects this doctor had on me have stayed with me and I dont want others to go through what my mom and I went through.

Dr. Jothen and her staff have been nothing short of wonderful. She and her nurse practitioner really take the time to go through your medical history, asking questions, taking notes, and frequently asking if you have questions. They were great at helping me find the best way forward in treating my, A-typical Migraines. These migraines have plagued most of my adult life, and were so frequent my quality of life, was terrible. They happened so frequently, it really impacted my life, my work, and my family. We tried a few different medications, none of which worked. Then she suggested Botox injections. I was hesitant, but after a few months I decided to give it a try, and let me tell ya.... That was a game changer! I went from carrying bundles of Ibuprofen, Maxalt, and other migraine meds to rarely even thinking about meds at all. The follow up they gave, the continual care, and concern they show is incredible. If you or someone you know suffers from Migraines, I highly recommend seeing her in either Coronado, or her Chula Vista office. The staff is amazing, considerate and super helpful when working with insurance, etc. I truly can’t say enough nice things about them, and I’m truly grateful for her and her team!
