I met Ray when I decided that I needed to lose weight and get in shape. So far, I’ve lost 37 lbs and my blood pressure is 103/65. Ray has been very instrumental in my success. He has been motivational -There have been so many time when I just didn’t want to be at the heath club and forced myself to go because I had an appointment with him. When I arrive, he always greets me with a smile and questions about my day, work, life, progress etc. By the end of our session, I feel great inside and out (physically and emotionally).Inspirational -Through his training, I have reached many of my goals. His personal clean and healthy living and positive attitude toward his clients and his own life make it easy for me to stay on track.Knowledgeable -Not only is he a good coach, he is very knowledgeable about nutrition and dietary supplements. He also sends very helpful texts on nutrition once or twice a week.I always look forward to our sessions and, I don’t think I could have gotten this far without his help.

My experience was super dope!!!! Ray Rich really knows his stuff. He helps you reach your weight loss goals, and gives you a meal plan that absolutely works. Ive seen results since working with Ray and they are amazing. I would recommend Ray to anyone.

Entry to the building was weird but other than I had a good experience with Ray. He is firm and challenges me with the workouts.Personally, I have seen results as I reach my goal. Even though my Groupon has ended, I am content what I have learned in regards to different methods to exercise and nutrition.

I found Ray through Groupon. Things started out fine (but ended terribly). I should have noticed from the start that things werent going to be great. Although its personal training, he gives very little attention to your goals and creating a plan around you specifically. He works off of this old sheet for all his clients and just wings it. When you tell him about injuries or things you cannot do he immediately forgets the following week. I cant even recall how many times I had to repeat myself, and he laughed it off as having a bad memory. Good trainers log everything! Its concerning because your trainer is suppose to be your teammate in working towards a goal. I ignored the things that were red flags because quite frankly hes super cheap and I just needed a little extra motivation to get going so it was an easy and affordable way to do it. I went to him on the weekends due to my schedule being tough and his only free weeknights were after 8/9pm which did not work for me.Fast forward 4 months, he started to randomly miss a session here or there or cancel part of it. Giving me sometimes only 15-20 minutes notice and Id already be in the car on the way. So unprofessional. I continued to let that stuff slide and just chalked it up to everyone having bad days. He has people buy in packages so when youre in, youre kind of stuck until its over. There were a few instances where he was inappropriate, one that was really very inappropriate that made me uncomfortable. After one class I was walking out and he started to walk behind me to walk me out, which hes never done at this new location and he asked me for a sweaty hug. That is so beyond inappropriate and creepy. Hes also made jokes about going on dates or hanging out outside of the gym. I repeatedly said that was inappropriate and tried to just ignore it. Fast forward 2 more months to my final straw which was 6 months into working out with him. As I was walking out of a Saturday session, he said hey you have to come at 9:30 tomorrow instead of 8:30 (I worked out 8:30-10:30 Sundays). I asked why and he said he was opening his space up to memberships so he could make more money. So he was cancelling half of my two hour session which was part of the agreement so he could make more money. First of all, what professional ever says that or admits that to a client. He gave me no notice that he was going to be adjusting my schedule so he could make money. When I told him that doesnt work and I want my schedule he said it was too bad. He then messaged me later and I told him I had only 5 sessions left so I just wanted a refund since he was beyond inappropriate to change my schedule that we agreed upon and I paid for so he could make more money. He literally is all about churn and burn. He could care less about his clients he just want to be the cheapest out there so he can get volume and make money. When I tried to talk through this with him he was rude and said he would not refund and then said I can workout during the week. Ive told him at least 5+ times that I cannot do during the week. Its just a frustrating situation and I refuse to go back there with his creepy advances and unprofessionalism. Unfortunately Im losing out on like $200 but there is nothing I can do but warn others to stay away.

Addendum: If the viewing public feels my review is in anyway unlikely, simply read the unprofessional response from this guy. By the way, Im 52, attractive by most standards (although no Beyonce!) and I do not have a PhD. If you did an initial profile on your customers and maintained a filing system (or even had a computer?!), then you would know this, Ray. Do you know any of your clients at all? Please note other clients made similar accusations. Were not all liars. Also note that his rebuttals are focused on defaming the individual. A true sign of a professional, right? For the record, I PREPAID for my sessions and Ray Rich owes me for three unused training sessions -- thats according to my basic 5th grade math skills....no doctorate required. I have logged a complaint with the BBB and with Thumbtack. Beware! Since this business is closed, it may spring up under another name.****************If no stars were possible, I would provide that rating. Ive been working with personal trainers for over 10 years but Ray was by far the worst trainer Ive ever had the displeasure of paying good money too. During my workouts he was either on his phone the whole time or making inappropriate sexual comments. I pre-paid for a block of sessions so I was stuck with him for 8 sessions. I never got to finish them because it was impossible to keep a current schedule with him or to reschedule with even a full week notice. His location is sketchy and you have to be buzzed in. If you train at night, the area is poorly lit and frankly dangerous for his female clients. If you arrive early or on time he wont let you in or gets agitated. Please read the other negative reviews here as their experiences mirror mine...It was good to see I was not alone. All the craziness had me thinking I was unreasonable. The final straw was a grammatically flawed text message he sent in a group text to all his clients stating...he was changing the payment terms of his contract. If you dont like it, dont train with him Ridiculously unprofessional. Now working with an awesome trainer at The Space gym and loving it!
