We had the most wonderful experience at Halsted Eye Boutique, everyone is so friendly, professional, and clean! My son, who is 5yrs old, had his first ever eye doctors appointment/exam here. Technician Gloria was great! She made my son feel comfortable and made the whole process fun for him, even though he was a bit scared at first, she made it all better. Dr. Katz is wonderful, she explained everything in detail in terms I understood. She is so kind, she also had the time to send me a detailed email explaining the results of the exam. Definitely 10/10 recommend Halsted Eye Boutique!

This place was great! From the time you walk in and are greeted, through the eye exam and glasses fitting everyone was very accommodating and professional. I appreciated the flexibility in scheduling my appointment as I had site meetings prior to my appointment, and was a few minutes later than expected. Dr Slusky was patient and exceeded expectations by taking the time to properly diagnose my vision needs where I believe others failed. Highly recommend!

Place came highly recommended by a friend so I was even more disappointed when I received poor service. The doctor berated me for sleeping on my contacts when other doctors have said its fine. They sent me texts constantly cut off after 120 characters and didnt modified when I asked them too. They also gave me a rebate for contacts that are not the ones I buy.

Dr. Katz and the team at Halsted Eye have changed my life! When I showed up for my first appointment, I was in pain from my dry eyes and confused about what was happening to me. Dr. Katz took so much time to explain everything in simple terms so that I really understood the root causes of my dry eyes. She takes a holistic approach to treating dry eye that has improved my symptoms to the extent that I am no longer in pain. This was all done without a single prescription medication.I have been treated by several optometrists and ophthalmologists and Dr. Katz is by far my favorite for both her clinical expertise and the dedication that I feel from her to me as a patient. She has worked with me to adapt several lifestyle factors to benefit the long-term health of my eyes. I trust her implicitly.Another thing that I love about Halsted Eye is how accessible they are. As a busy working professional, all I have to do is send a quick text message or email to them and will have a response right away. I recently visited this Eye boutique & was very satisfied with the nice warm reception being a new customer... the ambience is very clean, very comfortable sofas, but mostly what mattered to me was the great customer service I received from optician Nancy. She was very professional showing me various eyeglasses styles, very patient with time I was taking to decide what I would choose. I’m definitely going back next time I need my annual vision exam & possibly even buy another new style of eyewear.

First time patient and I was impressed. Moment I walked in I was greeted. Took covid very seriously with laminated paper work to fill out. The place reminded me of a spa and was offered snacks by a little stand they had. The eye exam area was cleaned and the staff was very friendly. I wish I remembered all their names. Dr. Kumar was informative and cared for all of my eye concerns. Definitely will be coming for my annual eye exams. Currently waiting for my eye wear to arrive at their facility.

This was my very first experience here and Dr. Slusky and her team were amazing. Everything was super clean and comfortable despite being in the middle of a pandemic. As to the examination experience, I was really impressed with the attention to detail and personalized care (given 3 different types of lenses to take home and try for several days each, follow-up communications, adjustments based on feedback). Outstanding! I highly recommend them!

I read all the other great reviews and decided to travel a bit to try this place out. 100% would recommend to everyone. Every single person that I interacted with was personable and took the time to explain everything that was going to happen and why. They took Covid precautions seriously and were still able to be time efficient and thorough. They helped me find my perfect pair of glasses (I hadn’t gotten new glasses in like 8 years so not an easy feat). Will most definitely be making this my permanent eye clinic.

I had an awful experience with this place. Consistently had to wait 20-30min for my appointments, and once it was almost an hour. Doctors were rude, and they messed up the order on my contacts prescription multiple times. Will not be going back.

Excellent care and Service. We worked with Amanda and Jeimy who where a delight. They where very patient with my picky 10 year old when it came to picking out frames. The environment was also very safe and constantly being cleaned and sanitized. We where treated so well, we ended up getting sun glasses, and came back for a second pair of sports glasses for my 10 year old. I highly recommend them.

I am a new patient with this office and had such a lovely experience! The team was proactive in getting my insurance information in advance so the paperwork didn’t take forever, their paperwork was environmentally friendly as it was laminated so that dry erase markers could be used and then the form could be reused, and the staff was so friendly and nice that I felt fully comfortable in their care! I have struggled with dry eyes for years now and have seen multiple doctors to attempt to find a remedy. The team at Halsted Eye Boutique didn’t try to sell me on services that I didn’t need, products that wouldn’t help me but were expensive, and they also didn’t try to get me to come in weekly so that they could charge my insurance as well as charging me. They also were very Covid conscious and clean while also being hospitable! I couldn’t recommend this beautiful, clean, Covid friendly office more to anyone looking for help with dry eyes or eye care in general!

The first time I was introduced to Dr. Slusky was by a friend via text when I had a medical emergency. It was very early in the morning, and Dr. Slusky sent me a return text asking me what was going on, and then her office made an emergency appointment for me to get in to see them that morning. She then provided an excellent reference for a retina specialist. I was impressed with her genuine concern, the speed at which she responded (and I wasnt even her patient yet), and the persistent follow-up. After all that, I knew she was the right doctor to continue with for my eye care.Fast forward almost two years, and the level of care I am receiving from Dr. Joanna Slusky, OD, is still outstanding. I appreciate how she is genuinely concerned about me and the health of my eyes. Dr. Slusky is articulate and spends the right amount of time explaining the details so that I understand everything about the health of my eyes and the proper treatments moving forward. She is very kind and connects with me on a personal level, for which I am thankful. Dr. Slusky is my doctor, but I also consider her a friend.

My contacts that I used were always making me get infections and the eye glasses I purchased from the last place were too tight and causing me headaches. Very nice place! Great service—professional and prompt doctors and staff. They are so nice and more importantly, on time for my appointment and knowledgeable. Dr. Kumar was patient and thorough. Sydney was awesome to work with to choose and order frames. Ask for Sydney! She was patient with me trying on all sorts of frames for prescription sunglasses and gave great advice on what color lenses vs the frames. She also actually found the perfect frames for me that also worked great with my insurance coverage. Pricier frames in general but great selection of luxury frames. Don’t miss their complimentary beer/Truly/White Claws... and of course sparkling waters and tea and whatnot. Also you can schedule your exam appointment online!

When she looked at my scans and noticed that something might be a little off, she broke down exactly what she was seeing in very easy to understand, customer friendly language. I’ve met several optometrists before. I’ve been struggling to find the right contact lenses brand. I can’t even count how many times i have to switch brands. It was frustrating. Those doctors i met before were nice but none of their recommendations work for my picky dry eyes. Until i met Dr. Angela Kumar from Halsted, who was referred by my former supervisor. Dr. Kumar went from minor issues to major issues. She was very detailed! After couple of exams/tests, she recommended me this specific contact lenses brand which i am very surprised and impressed how perfect it is for my dry eyes!! I am so happy. No more trial and error! Staff are very accommodating too! Very friendly especially Amanda :) I have been coming here for almost 2 years now, i highly recommend!

Ive been coming in for years and the Halsted Eye Boutique team just keeps getting better and better. Over the years Ive worked with Dr. Slusky, Dr. Kumar, Dr. Katz and most recently had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Govan when I woke up with pink eye. Helga picked up my call, got me scheduled for a same day visit. Gloria was super sweet and accommodating, making sure I was comfortable and putting me in a dark area since I was light sensitive. Dr. Govan saw me and prescribed meds that worked way better than when the ones I got at the Urgent Care center few blocks away (never again! I will always see my eye doctor if I have an eye problem!!) And then Dr. Kumar and Dr. Katz checked up on me in the following days, making sure I was improving, since I couldnt come in for a follow-up. Once this resolved, I saw Dr. Kumar for my prescription (comfy and accurate! And I like that they have new technology instead of the old equipment Ive seen at other offices I used to go to) Then I worked with Amanda to pick out new glasses (they have a lot of awesome styles by the way, that feel /look great, unlike the Warby glasses I had in the past). Jeimy looked into my insurance and got everything squared away and Sydney was super sweet and attentive when I was picking them up! Overall, awesome place. Great team. Great Eyecare!! Thank you!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Slusky! I’ve seen many medical professionals in my life, but I’ve never seen someone that I truly trusted with my care until I went to her. She is so knowledgeable and has helped me more than I can say. The wait is never more than 15 minutes and I’ve had positive experiences with the other employees as well. Halsted Eye Boutuque is such as amazing place! Everyone there is so friendly and caring. The doctors and staff go above and beyond to help. I have always struggled with finding frames that are able to fit my face shape, and at first I was offered a few options, but nothing that both I or the staff (Jamie) where happy with so they offered to order a few bigger pairs so that I’d be able to have more options....OPTIONS!!! I’ve never really had those! They are also extremely helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to dry eyes care.

Great eye exam location, knowledgeable, friendly and quick. I called for an eye exam and Dr. Kumar was able to fit me in the same day. They had the latest equipment which doesnt require your eyes to be dilated, and doesnt require the air puff which used to bother me. They also offered me a drink while I waited.

Today I brought my two children in for their first eye exams (ages 3 and 5) and the experience was incredible. Not only do they have toys, books and healthy snacks available, but the staff was incredibly patient, conscientious and engaging. HEB is the absolute bomb! I use to be scared to go to the doctors office to get routine checkups, but now Im practically a regular. I needed an annual eye exam and Doctor Katz was recommended to me. I have some special concerns because I am diabetic. She was exceptionally thorough, took plenty of time with me, made me feel good about my eyesight, and changed my contact lense prescription which definitely sharpened up my vision. I am overwhelmed by the amazing level of service Dr. Katz provided to me today. I made a last-minute appointment after hearing that my eyes were abnormally dry following my annual, and she spent a ton of time with me, patiently answering all of my questions from contact lenses to safe makeup ingredients to preservative-free eyedrops. She recommended a few daily contact brands, but also other treatments that Ill now try out.Im so very happy I chose Halsted Eye Boutique, because Im not sure another optometrist would have caught the gland dysfunction Dr. Katz did -- and now I have an action plan to make it better. Love Dr. Slusky! I was in for my regular check up and we talked about how dry my eyes can be. She recommended LipiFlow Dry Eye Treatment. The procedure itself was so easy and she did a wonderful job of explaining what was happening. She also gave at home things for me to do to keep improving my eyes. Halstead Eye Boutique was AMAZING! I saw Dr. Katz, and honestly I have never had a better, more thorough eye exam than with her! I wasnt just a patient, she made me feel comfortable and talked me through all of my symptoms and issues and found solutions to problems I didnt even know I had! I have pretty bad vision, and always thought my dry eyes was due to how thick my contact lenses had to be, but she did a test that showed actually my eyes dont produce the amount of tears needed to keep my eyes from drying out! Also, I have never had this done before, she was able to make me test glasses, and had me walk around the store to make sure my new prescription wasnt too much for me to handle. She actually went out of her way to reach out to ME to follow up when I was having a problem out of town. (Side note: If she says to buy preservative-free eyedrops, buy the preservative-free kind! The cheaper kind with preservatives can hurt if youre taking them multiple times a day for dry eyes...)I cant recommend Halsted Eye enough.

Excellent service. Dr Slusky is awesome and extremely knowledgeable. Excellent ambient and staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. Totally recommend this office.

They do a good job but charge you too much. While I did have insurance their pricing still seemed high for what I got. It is an independent shop and do give good one on one attention but its one of those places where you can tell the doctor is pulling in just a bit too much revenue for what is typical. The frames/glasses were over priced and did not have a good selection. Definitely attempts to be a priced and catered towards the Lincoln Park crowd, overpriced for what you get.

I was usually told to use eye drops with the hope it would feel better. Being an expert in dry eyes, not only did she give me the latest in eye drops, but also a supplement specifically for dry, irritated eyes, and the practical advice of increasing the amount of water intake per day. Had a very good experience here. The doctor was quite a lot better I thought than doctors I have seen at the big chains. Very informative and seemed genuinely to care about my vision health. She took much longer than typical to make sure my prescription was the best possible for me. It was not just a numbers game for her, get them in and get them out ASAP like I have experienced other places. The staff were also friendly and caring. I also really liked that everyone would stop after a few statements and say Do you have any questions? They are technology friendly with the latest equipment, including a new device to replace the dreaded puff tester. Give them a try if you arent happy where you are going now.

Ive been to this place two times and each time it was bad. Besides not showing me the glasses in my price range until i was about to leave they also gave me the wrong prescription and im stuck with glasses that are incorrect for my eyes. Never again and u shouldnt either.

Great service, was having an emergency due to discomfort in my eyes and was able to schedule an appointment that same afternoon. One year later and Im feeling great. Definitely recommend.

Great facility, great staff, low wait times, overall great place!

Even though I provided my insurance ID at the time of booking the appointment, they did not let me know until the appointment that my insurance did not cover my check-up. They told me cancelling at this point would result in a fee of $30, giving me no choice but to proceed with it. The doctor was cold and distant and made me feel uncomfortable. Will not return again
