She is by far the best gynecologist, very thorough and informative. She is professional and understanding. I had a procedure done in her office and she explained everything step by step and guided me through it all, I would totally recommend her as your MD for sure!

Both the mom and the daughter are excellent doctors. They are caring attentive. I had a c-section and healed rapidly with no complications. I am seeing her again for my third pregnancy.

Terrible! Terrible! Terrible!!!Since we recently moved to the Chicago area, we selected this Office as a recommendation from our health insurance office. They are listed as Tier One preferred provider. We made the appointment through this doctors website for Friday morning at 9am. On their website they offer their clients the chance to fill out the forms, which we did, and gave them our insurance information. On Thursday, the day before the appointment, the receptionist from their office called us to confirm the appointment and take the insurance information, again, over the Phone. We arrived at the office at 8:30am for our 9:00am appointment. The security guard in the lobby guided us to the waiting area, but no one showed up at the office until exactly 9:00am. When they finally arrived, it took them a while to get settled and asked us to fill out the forms again. We told the receptionist that we already filled them out online on their website and we have electronic confirmation as well as PDF proof of them. She had to search for it on her computer and was able to find it after all. She directed us to wait. After a while she told us that she was not able to get in touch with our insurance company and that we either had to wait until she could get verification, which could take hours, or if we wanted to be seen then, we had to pay for the visit with cash out of pocket. I asked her why she waited until the last minute to contact the insurance company, although she had the information for days. She said that she did not know the information was on their website, and that, when she got the information over the phone from us the day before, she didnt get to it as she only works until 4pm and she had to leave before she could call and get verification. I requested to speak to the doctor. The doctor (Swathi Arekapudi) promptly jumped to defend her receptionist and say that it is always time consuming to get verification from insurance companies and that we cant expect the receptionist to sit on the phone all day as it takes up to an hour waiting on hold to get one verification and for her to do 8 patients that would be an 8 hour day just waiting on the phone. She too suggested that we either had to wait, which could take hours or pay out of pocket. At that point we were so disappointed in the lack of compassion and poor customer service that we decided to leave and find another doctor. The receptionist proceeded to say that we had to pay for the appointment out of pocket after all, even if we were not going to see the doctor. When I contacted our insurance company later, they confirmed that this doctor is still listed as IN NETWORK. as well as one of the Tier-1 preferred providers - Not sure, however, if that is going to be the case for much longer, given their poor customer service ethics. We found another Doctor and they were glad to contact our insurance company right away and call us back, within minutes, that they do accept our insurance and provided us with an expedient appointment.

Dr. Swathi Arekapudi is the BEST OB Ive ever been to- and Ive been to soo because I move all the time. She really cares about her patients and remembers you even tho she sees you once a year. I will NEVER go to another OB in Chicago. She is also a specialist which means she can do all the procedures you need to be under for- a lot of OBs would have to hand you over to a colleague.I highly recommend her!

I had an horrible experience with this doctor (the mother) she doesn’t know her patient we are just another’s number. She rushing all my appointments never checked me for dilation when close to due date. She asked every time I came where you delivering baby which shows she doesn’t know me and hasn’t read my chart. When it was time for my culture she swab my thighs not my inside and said everything was fine I went to the hospital and In fact I had a bad uti. She only gave me two ultrasounds one at 14 weeks and another at 20 weeks gave me the wrong gender after having a baby shower and the worse of them all. After delivering my baby he came out with an infection because I been lost all my fluid for a whole week or two and every time I came in to the doctor she would send me home or when I came to the hospital they would call her and she would say send me home. Never knowing what was wrong with me. Now my baby has an infection at 4 hours into the world

The short version: I got what I needed from my new patient appointment (new Rx, annual exam), but the inefficiency was very frustrating. The long version: I arrived 20 minutes early for a new patient appointment at 2pm. A stack of paperwork was given to me at 5 minutes before 2pm, which I handed back over to the receptionist 10 minutes later. In the waiting room, a daytime talkshow played that was advertising women’s make-up products in a “collaboration” segment with Ulta. A black woman who was the shows co-host urged her white male co-host to “Please touch my hair! I like it when you do!” (Me: I wonder if I can I ask them to mute this tv).It was past 2:30pm before I was called from the lobby to an exam room. The doctor came in 10 minutes later, conducted a brief interview lasting no more than 2 minutes before rushing back out. She asked me the same questions which I had already filled out the responses to on the clipboard of papers (date of birth, date of last menstrual period). As soon as I started to give my response, she waited about 3 seconds before starting to talk over me. She handed me a paper gown and left again.10 minutes after that (I could hear her consulting with a patient in the next room over; apparently this patient had more to say than I did), the doctor returned for the examination, which was routine. In addition to the 2 minutes from before (rounding up), she spent another ~7 minutes with me. It was now 3:08pm. I made a passing comment saying that they must be having a busy day, to which she replied, “Actually no, we’ve had a lot of cancellations today. It’s kind of a slow day.” Me, to myself: If this is what a slow day is like, I’d hate to see a day when you are actually inundated with appointments.

I have to say this is the worst doctor I have ever ever come acrossed with! She delivered my baby because I ended up going to the er and I guess she was the ob on call. She was cold and I just got a bad vibe from her. After I had the baby I went to my primary physician because I had a problem with my breast. He referred me to her. When I went I totally forgot to bring the referral and she was so rude and just screamed where do I left the referral. I had to go get another one. Once I got back and they finally put me in a room with her. She didnt let me talk and explain the problem I had, instead she shut me up and told me to let her talk and gave me her own diagnosis without letting me explain, then I explained another reason why my primary doctor wanted me to see her and she told me she couldnt see me for that because it wasnt on the referral ..Im sure she could of seen me and just bill me for it but you could tell she just wanted to be done with my visit...she didnt took the time nor showed any care for me..I felt like she treared me like if I was a dog and not a huma. I will advise for no one to go with her
