I recently gave birth to my son at this hospital and the doctors were very professional, caring, and amazing people! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the nurses were very attentive, my son was delivered with no issues and well taken care of, and the food was actually good. They accomodated my husband well as he stayed with me almost the entire time and to top off the great stay we were given a very nice car seat that the hospital provides to all the new moms. I can go on and on but all in all I had a wonderful birthing experience at Jackson Park Hospital 🤗

Dont do it, run straight for the border! Worst hospital, that I have every been to. My mother was at Jackson Park for 3 weeks and not once, until the day of her release,was she cleaned, and I help with that process. Her skin was so messed up, do to this, it reminded me of a reptile shedding. She was covered in dead skin! Not only that, my mom was to week, while there, to feed herself, therefore, she didnt eat. The food trays were just left beside her bed. (IF YOU HATE YOUR LOVE ONE, TAKE THEM THERE!!!)

Awful! One star is to many, this hospital should be TOTALLY CLOSED ! from the operator not knowing how to speak professionally, ex. When I asked to be transferred to the psychiatrist ward 4th fl ( I’m ask is it a lady or man?) instead of addressing male or female or to be told wait wait, spell their name I don’t know how slower am I supposed to spell a name to be ask 4 times to repeat myself, This is after I’ve called numerous times afterwards, to be transferred to a voice mail of a Mr. Anthony, really?! And to be placed or placed on hold over 10 minutes afterwards to have someone on the other end at the 4th fl saying, HOLD ON! , or like today, I called 3 times to have the phone hung on me after ringing 22x put placed on hold then 2nd time put on hold after ringing 15 more times, which someone picked up the phone & hung up. I come to find out pt haven’t gotten any personals for basic showering n teeth cleaning on top of it all employees ruined. I don’t know where you hired these employees but these employees need proper professional training, It could be their love onein a hospital and these people would like to be addressed with kindness & courtesy. I do hope this get to a caring administrator of this hospital. This has not been the first, second or third time trying to get through sad to say that the great hard & caring workers has to pay for the lazy and unkind workers.

Overall the staff is friendly, once you establish that you know what you are doing, theyre more responsive, willing to communicate with family, hard to reach Social Workers department for staff and outside companies needing information. Kudos to ICU Team.

Ive been trying to get in touch with , a Nurse or Drs no one gave me a call back and they are unprofessional! No hospital that I know , does not leave u in the cold about ur love one!

This review is long overdue! I had my son here in 2005, and it was the most traumatic experience experience of my life. All the nurses and staff were extremely rude, and unprofessional. I was forced to have a completely natural childbirth, because the staff stated no one was available to administer an epidural. After enduring a 26 hour painful childbirth, I finally gave birth to my son. I literally woke up a little after an hour of giving birth on the table I gave birth on, still covered in the blood and other fluids from giving birth. I could have gotten an infection, and possibly died from the unsanitary conditions the medical staff left me in. This entire experience left me with life long mental health issues, and made me not have anymore children after this horrible experience. Please do not go here! Black people deserve professional and healthy medical treatment as well.

Why is this horrible place open. Security was called because 2 nurses were about fight. My family member is a senior citizen and asked the staff to get his cell phone that they took from him in the ER.He wanted to call family to let us know he was in the hospital because he had a minor car accident an was there just to get checked out. They refused to give him his cell phone and they never contacted contacted any familyfamily members Told him nurses wrote my dads medical information on pieces of paper. tlove one was there in put in a room with a mental health patient who was cussing out the staff.

If you want to die on your spare time you can come here, I have dropped patients off here at there request and feared for their health and well-being I have taken patients out from here barley alive and transferring them to a better hospital if you prefer to live dont come here

Most rude and unhelpful staff I have ever encountered in many hospitalizations of my son and daughter, who both have mental health issues. There motto must be Treat and Street with an emphasis on Street. They sure dont treat.

The psychiatrist, Dr. Mehta, was cold, awful and mean Charged me more when I have medicaid, it should be free. Got bought in at 9pm and didn’t leave until 3am because I was waiting on a cat scan. This is the dirtiest, slowest, most unsanitary, sloppiness, and unprofessional hospital I’ve ever been to. I saw employees about to fight, employees talking about patients as they left and their turn around time is slow. The only thing positive was the person who transported me. She was professional and made light of why I was there. Definitely wouldn’t recommend going here. I thought it was better than South Shore, but they both suck. Avoid.

This hospital needs to be shut down!! Staff and doctors are unprofessional, nurses laughing and name calling patients while on their phones and complaining about being there. No return phone calls from upper management. No hot water on N MAIN, they definitely DO NOT know what theyre doing with meds.I will continue to go up the chain of command, Springfield, Illinois department of professional and filing complaints thats for sure.

My mama is a patient at this hospital right now and honestly I have never seen hospital staff so friendly. You can tell they love their job. This is her second day here and me seeing new staff and they are literally as friendly as the ones from yesterday. I have never seen nothing like it. They treated my mom as if she was their mom. I love it.

This hospital is totally inept and incompetent. Rude staff for the most part. The place is a disgrace and needs to be overhauled in every aspect.

Very disappointed about my recent stay. I had to be admitted for two nights. My first day here they had no coffee or bread for patients. My second day here they were out of milk and jello. I dont understand how this is acceptable patient care. It makes the entire hospital look bad. Staff said this often happens ever since the department went through management changes. I dont expect gourmet food service but this is just pathetic. Will not be returning here again. Doctors, nurses and aides were all very nice.

I love Jackson park er ms sparkle peaches and Mrs Juanita every time I come there when Im off my medication they treat me with up most respect they never judge me and when I have to go there I look for them because I trust them with my life and they make me feel safe and they never lie to me and there actually are cocern with me getting better making sure I get the best treatment they never let anyone hurt me or they make sure I dont hurt myself .its other staff from there as well but I dont know everyone name but I would tell my family and friends to come here for whatever needs that needs to be taken care of Jackson park hospital is based on trust and the people of this commuinty and trust is 2 way street they are living and hands on and they treat you like family .so shout out to my Jackson park family .the place is clean food is school and place family friendly because I know sometimes I can be handful with Im around New people but they always make sure if I come there they go above beyond so thank you for helping me stay on my meds .

If I could give a negative score I would. I was transferred to the ER from another hospital. The ER was crowded, chaotic, and dirty. Nurses were yelling at other nurses in front of the patients. It took hours to get even the most basic tasks done. Totally unprofessional and not up to 21st Century medical standards. The entire process was a complete waste of time. Avoid this facility at all costs.

Workers there break the HIPPA laws in ER talking bad about the patients many workers in ER have very low self esteem ghetto get on disputes with their co workers I see why not to many people don’t come to there ER

The worst hospital ever

Went to the facility for a interview, there was an elderly lady that was extremely rude to me in Human Resources. Left me in a lobby to go to lunch, i came back with additional documents and she closed the office for the day. Someone else tried to assist me but that got me nowhere, i called back to see if documents were received and they were lost.

Am not going to lie jackson park is a good, hospitali some people just go out they mind because they dont have one.Thank you Doctor Allen Andrew pac will never forget you

I recent had my first panic attack I was scared out my mind. My whole experience was awful, first the ambulance did not care. I felt like I was going to die my heart felt like it stop on several occasions I even passed out. I was shaking uncontrollably and all they can say is “calm down” . The worst part was the hospital it was so crowded I didn’t even get a room like me and 4 others was just laying in beds in the hallway. They have the worst attitudes ever no one seem to care. I didn’t even get a chance to see a doctor they sent me home without being seen because I guess they assumed that I didn’t need help and that I will calm down eventually. They did denied me water and didn’t let my boyfriend come back to try to calm me down. I rather die than let them “serve” me again

The nurses are unprofessional.I cant even call to make an appointment,i have to actually go up there to talk to someone.Everyone who works here just doesnt care anymore,they are also rude. What the hell is going on here?

Went to go visit my brother during visiting hours 2 to 5. Got there 430 they would not let me see him. Why because they were distributing dinner. What does dinner have to do with visiting a loved one. Now i cant see him til thursday. Wow.

I rate them a negative 5:I didnt know any better at the time, but I went here for care during my pregnancy. It was all fine as long as I remained in the clinic part with a very nice doctor, but one day, I was told that my blood pressure was high and that I needed to go up to the hospital for some tests, because my child could be in serious jeopardy. So, my fiance and I went up to what looked like a scene out of Nightmare on Elm Street--the hospital is so dated and unkept--it was scary. They began with a urine test, and the cups had no label on them to identify whose sample belongs to who, just a red or blue top, and then they told me to place the cup in this metal bin, which had someone elses urine there, with no label, and some dirty clothes (Im not kidding). I asked again, to be sure, that this is where I should place my urine sample, and was instructed to do so. I went back to the room followed by a nurse who said she needed to collect some blood. She stuck me, no lie, 6 times, with the same needle, because she did not know what she was doing; blood was everywhere! Not too long after she left, she came back to tell me that my urine was positive for codeine. I asked her what that was, and she began to explain. I and my fiance told her that she has the wrong patient, because I dont do ANY drugs! Not once in my life. I have not once tested positive for drugs, and that was my second urine sample of the day. She left, and when she came back, she told me to just tell the truth because if they test me again, I can go to jail for endangering my unborn child. It was hilarious to me, because the experience was so surreal. I had had enough at that point, and told them that I was leaving, and they locked us in! You can not get out unless they buzz you out. I am very serious. I called my parents, who live in Wisconsin, where I am from, and they had a fit. Needless to say, I never returned. Dont EVER go there!

I was alone in the ER for nearly 10 HOURS before they sent me up to see the doctor. The actual doctor was pretty good, but the staff is so incompetent and communication between departments is terrible. I knew this hospital had a bad reputation, but I had an emergency and NEVER expected it to be this bad.

I had the worst experience with this hospital for a school paper. The board of director Tanisha Bonner should be spoken to. A while ago I had a meeting with her.She was late for our meeting, then she had this fishy questionable smell to her and she had bad breath. She thought I was an intern working at the hospital. I wanted to interview her for my school paper but due to her hygiene. I couldn’t do it so I just left the hospital.

When my daughter was admitted to the emergency room, she received excellent attention. Although the wait was long as heck and some unprofessionalism, very caring staff! Very thorough treatment.

Just terrible. No other word to describe it. Bad customer service. Dont try calling. The line will just ring and ring. Was told about lazy co-workers from one of the employees. That is very true. Lady behind glass at ER was playing on her cell phone. Irritated that I needed assistance. Lady behind other desk didnt want to help me either. Only one lady helped me and she didnt even work in ER. Security was very good. Answered all my questions and were very professional.

It takes 3 in a half days to get a medication to a patient once it is prescribed by the doctor. Doctor doesnt even come see you everyday and Im saying most staff is soooo improffesional, nasty, sarcastic rude behaviors. This place should be shut down they should have a (-0 rating) instead of 1 because this facility dont even deserve a 1 star. Food is terrible showers are cold residents them selves are rude. I was in the mental health unit my 4 days it was a tough one to be at for 4 days. I got transferred from another facility so I shouldnt have been there at all in the first place but my hometown hospital didnt have any beds available so they sent me up there Im the dungeon where no body ever belongs or should be at. This place should be SHUT DOWN AS WELL AS THORNTON HEIGHTS TERRACE. It was like the hospital of Thorton heights terrace nursing home. Same neck of the woods. Its a shame that both of those places are still up and because of that. State it self is not doing their job properly. So I blame state and the hospital it self they dont do anything to help the situation when there are complaints because staff does not think they do anything wrong and they probably conside with their bosses like pshh you didnt do anything wrong. But yes again no question About it SHUT down JACKSON HOSPITAL DOWN TAKE AWAY MOST OF THEIR LICENSE. Just had my baby here, stayed 3 days and I have 0 complaints. Yes there are alot of student doctors which means they give people a chance. The staff in the labor & delivery were exceptional. The areas were clean, they were very nice and professional. Gave me lots of free things for my infant including a brand new car seat. Filled my prescriptions before I was discharged. And nurse Sinee and Isidore reminded me so much of my late granny who I miss so much. Almost a year now since she passed. Thank you for your great service Jackson Park.

If I could rate this a negative 1,000 I could. I had my last child at that hospital. I started to bleed profusely and they said it was normal and refused to call my doctor. They left the room and upon telling them that my i.v ran out and having blood backing up into the tube, it took them am hour to come into the room and change it. Upon getting into the delivery room which had cracked and peeling paint, I started to deliver and they just stood there looking. Only person who helped at all was a very nice medical student. Avoid this place at all if possible.

Its nonsense at its finest 🤦1.its unsanitary I always see blood in the bathroom like thats a crying shame🤮🤮2. It takes 30 min to an hour for the doctor to see u.3. Some of the nurses and people at the front desk always got an additude4 . This hospital needs some serious adjustments 🤷🤦💯

My mother passed away at this hospital. She was there for three days before anyone contacted me.The facility is understaffed, lacks updated equipment in the hospital rooms and much more.For the past three years they keep sending bills to my deceased mother to my home address after Ive returned them with notes explaining that she passes away in October of 2015 AT THERE HOSPITAL. No one returned my calls or answers the phone.The list goes on.

Im a nurse casemanager and Ive had the unfortunate experience of having one of my patients placed at this hospital. This hospital is by far one of the worse in America. ALL the staff are just so unprofessional and the service is subpar. The communication is nonexistent. They just do things to patients without consents of their Guardians and POAs. When you call they put you on hold and never return to the call. Its ridiculous and they cant even tell you what they are keeping the patient for. This hospital need to be shut down!!!

I had a double ear infection and when I came they said they saw nothing wrong and put the ear instrument in my ear without the cover and jammed it in my ear. Then I came back 2 days later and they said I had swimmers ear and emitted me after waiting 5 hours. I stayed for 6 days and when I had bad ringing and a shooting pain in my ears I pressed the button for my nurse and they didnt come till around 30-60 mins since I pressed the button. This hospital sucks! And the nurse kept trying to put the IV needle in my arm more than 5 times after not getting blood in that spot and both of my hands swelled up and bruised. 😡😡😡

No, no and no! If you can survive it, go someplace else. I spoke with a patient advacant twice when I was there.Almost everyone has an attitude and its like they are doing you a favor.They should make a reality show with this hospital... Ghetto At The Park would be a good title.I had a baby sitter because I was suicidal when admitted. 7 or so ft from me, she called / ordered a pizza, left me to go down stairs to get it, ate it in my room and had friends coming in to get slices, I kid you not, and my nurse saw it and said nothing.I left w/o getting the prescribed meds they took from my bag and put someplace (hospitals prefer to administer prescriptions themselves)..Ive called twice, they dont understand what I mean.In ER, some woman got salty when I asked where my valueables were going. They dont even acknowledge you, they point at you, and refer to you as this one, her, etc. right in front of you. I asked the ER woman to stop talkibg like I wasnt there, and that I asked a question... she said Im talking to her (co-worker) right now.

They are very slow! You’ll be sitting there for hours. Best bet is to go else where.

Emergency room services are excellent when you go through the Fast track no long wait great staff of CNA Nurses, Register Nurses, Medical Reception, and doctors I highly recommend this place to Families and Friends.

Had a problem locating my brother. The staff went out of their way to help me find him even calling the center he was discharged to in order to confirm his admittance. Thank you to the two ladies who worked so hard to help me!

Please AVOID GOING HERE ESPECIALLY IF YOUR PREGNANT OR EXPECTING. I HAD MY DAUGHTER AT 37WKS AND THEY TOOK FOREVER PREPPING FOR MY EMERGENCY C SECTION. NO ONE KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING,WHERE THEY WERE GOING ETC. MY DAUGHTER WAS BORN STILLBORN. I BELIEVE IF THEY HAD BETTER STAFF AND BETTER TRAINING MY DAUGHTER WOULD BE ALIVE. I hated myb3 day stay there because no nurse was informed of my daughters passing as if they dont read your file before they switch shifts.i kept having to repeat why I was there. Who wants to keep telling ppl that there daughter passed after just HAVING her...Im still devasted and its sad that these are the type of hospitals they put in these neighborhoods. Everyone needs better training or just all together QUIT there profession. If you are high risk I suggest talking to your provider about which hospital can correctly meet your needs. But black ppl do not settle for this hospital just because its convenient. I will travel far for good service. I need people on me that ACTUALLY GENUINELY CARE AND KNOWS HOW TO DO WHAT THEY SHOULDVE WENT TO SCHOOL FOR. THESE COLLEGES/TRADE SCHOOLS ARE REALLY GRADUATING ANYBODY I SEE!

I went to this hospital on 06/15/2018, my toddler had a fever of 103.4. Dr. Adab discharged her with only a prescription for motrin. They drew blood, and collected urine samples. He laughed and said we have a new lab, we wont be getting her results back at all. On her discharge papers it says her diagnosis was a viral infection, thats not true, he told me no such thing. I take my daughter to Comer hospital and found out she has pneumonia!!!! They kept her overnight! If this hospital would have did their damn job, I would have known my child was sick!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. They do not care about the patients. As much as we need hospitals in the community, this one should be closed down. My child had pneumonia for Christ sakes!!!! Dr. Adab should not be allowed to see patients, he did not say anything to me about a viral infection, but he doctored up her discharge paper. The nurses sat around and gossiped about other nurses. This place is so unprofessional, its ridiculous. Please shut this place down!!!!

Beautiful hospital. I had some kind of reaction to Something today and it triggered other things i go through. These doctors checked me gave me meds and i dont feel sick anymore. Beautiful hospital. And they didnt take all day and night. I feel lovely.im afraid to take my everyday meds now because i believe it has something to do with the reaction i had today. My mom had resigned from this job and was about to start a new job but this hospital called her new job and lied saying they had to fire her. My advice do not work here Jackson park has no one best interest but their own

I just had my baby 7/19/2017My water broke so I went through the emergency side, when I got in there they immediately started to get my information,put me on a bed & took me up stairs.I constantly told them I did not want an epidural all though they KEPT insisting I get one.I got in my room around 9am & my contractions were already 4 minutes apart when I arrived & when they first checked my cervix (before giving me any medication I was 4/5cm dilated) I wasnt in too much pain at that time. Around 2 hours later they gave me pain medication.They wouldnt tell me what it was but I think it slowed down my labor because they gave it to me atleast 3 times I remember & one time was when I 8cm dilated which really slowed my labor after I had my baby I was moved to another room the one was clean but they kept changing the temperature from cold to hot/hot to cold,which gave me a fever & gave me headaches & when I asked for a Tylenol for the headache it took nurse isadore almost 2 hours to bring it by that time I couldnt open my eyes which were very sensitive to light & couldnt hold my baby because I had gotten weak I had to stay from the 19th to the 22nd & during that time they came and cleaned it maybe twice and by clean I mean changed the sheets & put one face towel & one dry towel. They didnt dump the garbage which was extremely full , they didnt take the food trays unless we hassled them about it. Also I complained about there being a bug crawling in my bed while I was holding my new born child & was supposed to be moved to another room which NEVER HAPPENED.Bad👎🏽:-The temperature-Needs to be cleaned better & more frequently-The staff takes forever-The staff doesnt check on you regularly-The nurse stuck the IV in my hand too hard which cause swelling & left a little bruising he which is still there 5 days later-You have to constantly ask them to bring you supplies, which they should already keep you stocked with-they serve breakfast at 6/7am, lunch 10/am, dinner 4/5pm & most of the times everythings cold when it gets to you and they dont reheat it for you.-some of the nurses have bad attitudes, seem very overworked & dont seem to want to tell you everything that theyre doing as far as giving you medicine, when you can eat, when you can see your doctor etc.-ran out of supplies (cups for ice, baby wipes, towels, footie socks, blankets for baby)-took too long to discharge-hard for visitors to try to find my room-a few of the nurses had thick accents so it was very hard to understand them-a few of the nurse that had to check on my baby would wake him up out of his sleep , leave him unwrapped while the room was very very cold & wouldnt wrap him back up properly-took forever for nurse isadore to show me how to properly do a sits bath-the buttons on my bed used to make it go up/down seem to jam sometimes & make it do the opposite of what i pressed-never came to clean the bathroom-nurse isadore changed my sheets & wrapped up my phone in the covers & took it out the room (even though my phone was on the top of the bed in plain sight which a BIG , BRIGHT PINK case on it & my phone is kind of heavy)Good👍🏽:-got me to a delivery room quickly-let 3 ppl stay in the delivery room-provided food for me and my quest-a few of the nurses seemed to actually care about making sure I was comfortable & knew what they were doing-the food was good most days (when it was served hot)-the celebration dinner(of my choosing) and the gifts(new car seat,fruit basket, champagne, diapers, milk, blanket, 2 onesies, a hat and baby book, breast pump) were very good and nice 👍🏽-the nurses will bring you a snack if you ask-the television worked & had a few good channels-would knock before entering the room-had a lot of chairs in the room-a few of the nurse gave me good advice & words of encouragement-good cell phone reception the days it didnt rain-had me fill out paperwork & explained them in detail-told me things to look out for when caring for the baby and nusrsing him

This hospital is garbage.. I feel bad for anyone who has to communicate with them for any reason.. The service is horrible.. all the faculty members think they are too highly of beings when they are really all bums.. I wish I could give less than 1 star.. The only way to save this hospital (Business) is to replace all the current staff with a legitimate team who isnt full of themselves.

I RATHER DIE BEFORE I GO BACK HERE I CAME IN AT 5PM AND WAS WAITING ON MY DOCTOR UNTIL 1AM AND MY DOCTOR WAS JUST WALKING AROUND TALKING WHILE I SIT AND WAIT IN PAIN AND I DIDNT EVEN LEAVE UNTIL 3AM ME AND MY GIRL MISSED WORK BECAUSE OF THIS

I worked in the Emergency Room one the wrost I have ever been in the United States should closed. The facility is to old, equipment dose not work. Staff untrained staff who dont speak English well, A management team who react rather than proactive. Police and fire Department staff openly verbally abusing patients, staff will not report anything. Fast track is under staffed and under used. They are very good with behavioral Health but that is it. A good group of nusrses but lacking the shift to shift surrport needed to Deliver good health care.if they build a new building for the Emergency Department foucus on what they are good at they will be world class. But for now it is a sad little place

This hospital is so slow and unpleasant the emergency room/fast track is slow they have a black female Doctor thats rude to the patients she acts like she would rather be a food critic instead break after break smh someone close this place

Director of Nursing Ms. Armstead is very unpleasant and unprofessional. She should be replaced immediately. I hope I never have to visit here again.

The entire staff is rude from the nurses to the doctors they my appointment was at 8:00am didn’t get seen tell 11:15am . This place is very unorganized and unprofessional I don’t suggest anyone go there unless they have absolutely no choice.

My experience was very scary.I spent a couple of days there when I looked up one night I had my friend looking down at me,after visiting hours was way over.he got in my room with out any one seeing him.

This is the worst hospital on the south side of Chicago I got strep throat no mask on they didnt take my vitals ingot a fever its so ghetto and been sitting her for hours never again this place needs improvement now and more professional people here

Never get sick and go here. It is like a hospital for prisoners. I have a relative who was here and I was shocked at the lack of general care for the facility. It worries me to think that people get sick and go to this place for care.
