We used Matt to train our little guy in some obedience. It was amazing, hes a completely different dog now. People stop me on the street and ask why our dog is so good! Would highly recommend it. Matt is extremely knowledgeable and anytime we had confusion he was prompt to see what I was doing wrong. 6 Week course changed our boy!

They were very attentive to our dog, sent videos/picture each day. Were always quick to respond to a text/question and were fabulous in having the dog checked by the vet and paperwork needed for international travel, and texted when arriving at the airport -- our son let us know when he safely reached them at Frankfurt airport. I highly recommend Bess at VIP!!

VIPs should get more than 5 stars! My dog loves this place because the people at VIPs are so gentle and kind with her. She is people shy but has really taken to everyone at the facility. VIPs does pick-up/drop-off for overnight stays, they have heated floors and a special HVAC system for the animals as well as communal play; I just pack her food and a toy, they take care of the rest. The videos they send of her during communal play time are fun to receive; its always nice to see her socialize with other dogs and play. She has been going to VIPs since they opened. The facility is fantastic and I am pretty sure she is smiling in this pic from one of her stays!

I cant say enough good things about our FAVORITE boarding place! Abel has been going here for 5 years. He is a 5 year old pitty and it was hard finding a place in the beginning that could handle his energy and breed. During this time of quarantine and shutdowns, VIP has saved us more than a few times already when weve needed to go out of state to check on family. He absolutely LOVES it there and has best friends! The staff is professional and so friendly, they are willing to work with your dog in every way, shape and form. I dont know what we would do without VIP Pet Hotels, honestly. Thanks for always being there for Abel

We have been sending our 4 year old pit bull mix Auggie to VIP for over 2 years now. We were so nervous that he would not get along with people and other dogs due to his intense fearfulness and anxiety. When we toured the facility with Matt we were assured that Auggie would do just fine based on his temperament during the tour. He goes three days a week and has been boarded a few times as well and seems to be a favorite amongst staff. We always find ourselves apologizing for Auggies stubborn behavior and we never hear anything but good reports he is the best so sweet playgroup rockstar. We so appreciate the entire staff at VIP and miss some of our favorite staff who have since moved on. They have all been incredibly understanding of Auggies many quirks. We are especially thankful for the pick-up and drop-off services provided. A huge shout out to Sheila for handling services with professionalism during this COVID-19 pandemic. Highly reccomend VIP for all your daycare and boarding needs!

Dave and Jackie and the rest of the staff are incredible...whenever I have to leave town, this is where I take my dog. He loves it here, a great place to play with his friends and I feel comfortable leaving him here over a long period of time. Not to mention the price is very reasonable. Great place for dogs.

Just in awe at the continued service. Some context: my cutie cute pitbull Abel used to attend VIPs Pet Hotel back in 2015-16, and unfortunately we moved due to work to Michigan. So naturally in our planning on moving back to Chicago, I really wanted to send him back, but was unsure of whether he would be remembered/would do well, etc. But OH MY GOSH, he was there for two days of boarding while we got settled into our new apartment, he had also just been in the car for 5 hours, and I was told that he did so well. They will send videos of your pup straight to your phone via text and you can ask whatever questions you need, as well as updates of other services they may be having. I can honestly say that the service has never once faltered in this now 4 year span of being a customer. So so happy and cant wait to send him back.

Please DO NOT use this facility. I arranged for my pet to be picked up and kenneled at this facility while I was out of town. I called the day prior to leaving and confirmed pick-up and drop-off with the owner of the facility. I was assured that my pet was in good hands and would be taken care of. Long story short my dog was never picked up. The owner of the business claimed that my dog was picked up and dropped off as a daycare visit the first day as a mistake. After being alerted by his staff (on day two) that I called looking for a dog that they could not find he came to the building, picked up my dog, took it to his facility, and was in the process of sending me a video of my dog to assure me that everything was OK when he finally answered my call. (While this was happening I was calling both the staff and the owner and no one answered my call.) I considered that this might have been the case and I asked if he could, with certainty, confirm that my dog had been taken care of during the first day and he could not. I asked again if he could confirm that my dog was at his facility the day prior and he said that he could not. I arranged for other accommodations immediately. My pet was brought back to my apartment and I have not heard from the facility since then. I believe that my dog was never picked up. Upon returning home I have discovered that his bed had been peed on multiple times and I believe he was either bathed or deodorizer was sprayed on him prior to being brought back home (as a cover-up) as he smells like powder. I am lucky that my situation ended with a live dog. Had I not called, or had the employee at the kennel just said Oh yes, hes fine my dog could have died in his kennel at home due to their recklessness. I believe he lied to me telling me that my dog was at the daycare for day one, that he lied to me trying to cover it up and stating Weve never had something like this happen before, and offering a pet suite, grooming, and free boarding to make up for the mistake. I reserved the dates two or three weeks prior, paid a deposit, and confirmed the day prior to my departure that he was on their schedule. There are other reasons that I believe my dog was at home that I am not going to dive into in an online review. If this happened, and I discovered it, I worry about what other things are happening that pet owners dont know about at this facility. Please, do not use this facility.

The whole staff here is awesome, and every time I bring my dog here she is well taken care of!After a couple experiences (both long stays: 18 days/8 days) I’m really satisfied with the work they put into this place. I’ve only had my dog stay for boarding, but the location has a series of other services (some I still need to inquire about); boarding facility entails communal play time for boarded dogs, heated floors for the run/Kennel, and an air system that pulls in fresh air/expels the old, etc...These people deserve trophies, hugs, and praise for the work they do, and my ol’ gal seems to enjoy them/the facility a lot.Check them out, they’re far from just a boarding facility!

The best - we have been taking our shy dog here for boarding since she was a puppy. The entire staff has bonded with her, which is a real fear, since she is wary of other people. She gets to play with other dogs all day and be around her friends. As soon as she knows where we are headed, she is super excited. Its a great feeling for us knowing how well taken care of she is when we are apart. Thanks, VIPs!!

I have brought my 2 larger dogs here 3 times since I moved here last December. They definitely know their stuff about dogs, and they are really getting their business smarts together (I believe they only opened a little over a year ago). The first two times I dropped them off for long weekends. This last trip I left them for 9 days.I used to board them in New Orleans, and they couldnt socialize there and were only let out by themselves. That facility said they just got too stressed out in the large group of dogs: one dog became aggressive and the other terribly anxious. I told Dave this, and actually selected his facility because they allow for private play time when necessary. He asked me if I would trust them to try letting them socialize and then switch to private play if that seemed better for the dogs. He had told me so many wonderful anecdotes on our extensive tour that I decided to go for it.My dogs have never come back from boarding so well balanced. They would always come back from a long stay somewhat hyper, or so wiped out that I suspect they hardly slept. This time, after an extended stay, they seemed happy and relaxed, just like their normal selves. The woman at the desk and Dave (who is literally always there) were telling me about different dogs mine had made friends with and describing perfectly the way theyve always played in the dog park when I take them. I know they were truly paying attention and giving an appropriate level of supervision while still letting dogs be dogs and play together. I feel totally comfortable letting my dogs socialize there, and Im thrilled that theyre able to because I know it makes for a much more pleasant stay for them. This was the longest time Ive left them at VIPs Dog Hotel for boarding, and I would not have any qualms doing it again. They really care about the dogs and have the knowledge and experience to take care of them as well (if not better!) than I do.

Dave (owner) is amazing with dogs. My dog pulled on the leash and jumped over barriers at other centers. Dave is helping me train my dog (Leroy) and he cant jump any barriers at VIPs. He also comes home clean and tired, he would smell after being at couple of other centers. You can trust Dave and his team with your pet, they take the time to make sure dogs get a safe clean experience.

Please do not board your pet here.I boarded my dog here for four days and had him groomed for a total cost of $350. The grooming work was excellent. The room stank from urine when I picked my dog up, leaving me highly doubtful that my poor dog did not receive the promised bi-hourly walks. I also found that they left him in solitude and silence, having never provided the radio that I paid for. They didnt even feed him according to his normal schedule with the food that I provided them. That all said, he does not sjow any evidence of neglect and he does seem happy.

I left my dog here for the first time for 8 days. He recently injured himself & is getting surgery so I was a paranoid mama. When I dropped him off they listened & wrote down all of the info making me relax a bit. They texted me pictures and video updates. He started off doing individual potty time cause of his injury then (with my approval) moved him to a low energy play group because he was doing better. I even asked if he could go to a normal play group cause I wanted him to be able to play & they responded that they wanted to wait to make sure he was doing ok before doing that. I really appreciated the care & concern they showed. Only mess up was he was supposed to be groomed and didn’t but that’s not a big deal at all to me especially because of how they went above & beyond to keep me informed and comfortable. It’s also very reasonably priced

Dave and Nick are part of our girls (an Old English Bulldog and a Chiweenie) family. VIPs is their home away from home and they are excited to go to doggy daycare every day (in fact they whine by the door on days we dont take them!). I know that my girls arent just thrown into playgroups with dogs that havent been properly integrated and socialized with the pack, so I dont worry about them getting injured or getting in fights. Our girls are happy, healthy and friendly dogs and we owe it all to Dave and Nick.

Two years later theyre still the best! HB always comes home from a long day of chasing girls & tails !I started taking my puppy to Dave & Jackie in November. I looked at several facilities not only for daycare, but boarding & training as well. Most others do not give tours ( I assume it is because they dont have the same standards or the areas the dogs live in or play in is drastically smaller than VIPs)VIPs goes above & beyond with all that they do- not only do they accomodate my inability to guess what time I will arrive (by having late pick ups/ drop offs), but they have also been a big help with showing me how to control little Chuck Berry so when my father & nieces are around my mother & sister dont have to worry. They also pick him up each morning & drop him off sleepy every afternoon that he goes to what we call school. He prances & jumps with excitement when he leaves with Dave or Natalie each morning when they come to pick him.I have been to VIPs just to play for a few hours in the puppy play area indoors when it was freezing out & stop by regularly ( if my schedule allows) just to say hello.I was uneasy about having my baby go to daycare as the news displays only the worst things, but since I have been going there I have seen nothing but happy healthy dogs having a great time in a clean & well maintained facility.I have recommended them to friends, family, and strangers as I am comfortable saying they are the best-None of the kennels can compare to the room, attention, and love they give each dog each day.

First, if you have a bully breed - I can not recommend Dave and this facility enough! He actually knows what he is doing! I have used Dave as a trainer for a rescued Italian Mastiff and am pleased to have a true dog expert explaining her behavior and using basic training methods so that I end up with a dog who recognizes that she is answerable to no one but me and is not the one in charge. Bully breeds (a name I hate because it goes against their natural disposition), require owners to take their training seriously because they are so strong and opinionated... and fiercely loyal/protective - to their detriment when their owners dont assume responsibility for the sheer size and strength of these breeds.Dave knows exactly what he is doing and as a result, you have a incredibly loyal dog who behaves - better than any multitude of the pocket dogs who bark at my dog incessantly. To be an owner of this breed and know that I have total faith in her listening to me, takes all the worry out and lets all the joy of owning such a great dog in.Additionally, to help her socialize and relax around other dogs, she goes in to Daves Doggie Day Care - I have to say without exaggeration, I dont worry for a second while she is there. That is a HUGE HUGE thing when most Doggie Day care facilities are not knowledgeable about dogs; do not recognize when things are getting out of hand (until it is too late); kennel the dogs that require the most attention all day instead of working with the dog to get past the issues and Do NOT understand the primordial behavior patterns present in ALL dogs.Vips Pet Hotels should specialize in training and taking care of the dogs everyone else wont take - but, if he did that, too many other dogs would lose out from the benefits of having an experienced dog handler caring for them and training their owners on common sense and time-tested successful training methods. (No, you wont be asking for the dog to do something and giving it a million treats... No.. this is not a situation where youre going to look cross and withhold love. This is where someone teaches you the basics; builds a foundation upon which more expected behavior patterns are built and where the dog respects you and loves you even more because the dog understands what you want. This is the dog training world where your praise is the best gift the dog can get - and, btw, Dave is very giving with his praise and affection both to the owner doing it right and to the dog who he probably cares about the most.)If you want someone who is not going to hold you accountable for the responsibility that comes with owning a dog and who is not going to tell you straight out what you have to do to be the owner of a truly well behaved dog - dont go here. Dont waste his time when other people and other dogs would love to find and benefit from someone of this quality and experience.So... if you want to have a well behaved dog, if you want to leave your dog in an environment that exercises them; plays with them and understands them while you work; if youre traveling and want to know your dog is safe... this is the ONLY place I would recommend without hesitation. Finally, he also offers grooming and an in-house vet clinic is coming - Dave is creating what will be one of Chicagos BEST dog facilities. I would highly recommend going here before he is so booked you cant.
