Dr. Burgess is very thorough and friendly. She answered all my questions and brought up aspects of my hair care routine that I didnt even think about it. My condition is much better now!

Seems like the response of this offices review is faster than the office calling back on patient. I was a new patient here, and I felt the staffs were unfriendly and although the doctor was nice during consultation, she seemed rushed to get out. After the appointment, they needed to update my prescription for my acne but the update was never sent to the pharmacy. I tried to reach out to the office several times, but it always went to a voice mail and no one has gotten back to me. I will be cancelling my future visits and go elsewhere.

I am a new patient to Pinnacle dermatology, having only been to a dermatologist one other time in my life, I felt I needed to get a check up.My first appointment was brief. During the mole check the nurse/assistant was checking instagram on the work computer. Dr. Burgess checked all my skin marks and found one that was questionable. We scheduled a biopsy appointment two weeks later.During this appointment the same nurse ushers me back to a room that wasn’t prepped. She is prepping the room as I am in there, and having not experienced a biopsy before I was very nervous. There was no conversation between us, and would leave me in the room with the door open to continue to prep the room. I overheard another employee talking to her that they need to order more pillows because one should be in each room - there was no pillow in my room and she went to grab one from another room.Dr Burgess arrives in my room for what I assume is the biopsy. She asks again to see the mole. She then asks if I’d rather have the whole thing taken off and be left with a 1/2 in scar or they can perform the biopsy to get the mole tested, then find out if the whole thing needs to be removed. It was unsettling that this decision was up to me, as I shared I was under the impression that this appointment was a biopsy, and they were to just merely scrape the mole and learn whether or not my moles are something to pay attention to in the future. They said okay, and went ahead with that procedure. Yet during the procedure, Dr. Burgess told the nurse that she had grabbed the wrong thread to stitch me up. Two things: I did not know I was needing stitches for this scrape procedure, and it was wildly unsettling that I was left on the table with the Dr. holding my open wound, waiting for the nurse to find the right thread to stitch me up.This last appointment did not give me confidence to continue seeing Pinnacle.

I highly recommend Pinnacle Dermatology. The office people were professional and friendly and Dr Nick was informative and very thorough. Unfortunately it was his last day at that location on Michigan Ave. A new Dr will be taking his place but I have faith she will be just as great. Dr Nick is moving to the Oak Lawn location if anyone wants to see him.

Chicago location is very unprofessional. I made a telemedicine appointment which was rescheduled for a different time same day (no problem), but I had to follow-up and call 4 times the day of my appointment to ask for an email confirmation link for my virtual appointment. I called 3 minutes before my appointment to ask again for a link to which I was told there was an emergency at the clinic and they would call me soon as they were running behind. I received no communication all day and had hoped as an existing patient at their clinic that they would have communicated more efficiently as soon as there way a delay. Some people have work obligations and arent flexible with appointment times which they should be considerate of. Will not be a returning patient.

The doctor is great but getting in contact with anyone at this office after your appointment is impossible. They’ve bungled my prescription location and when I got that sorted, I find out they did not provide updated info so that they could be contacted by my local pharmacy. I tried calling the office several times but I’ve gotten no call back after weeks of leaving messages though they say they’ll call back in 24-48 hrs. It’s been over a month and I still haven’t received my full prescription. Left a message canceling my future appointment there.

Pinnacle Dermatology office is closed more than it is open.I called Monday morning and was told by an operator the office is not open until 11am. I tried back at 345pm the same day and the office was closed. I called again on Tuesday, no answer and I decided to leave a message. No one returned my call from Tuesday so, I called back on Thursday and now the operator says they are closed until Monday. Unbelievable!

I enjoyed meeting Dr. Beck and am happy to have a regular dermatologist in Chicago. She was mostly on schedule, clear, concise and took the time to answer questions. The intake with her P.A. was thorough and the whole experience was rather relaxed.Ive had a few appointments since that first review above. Dr. Blickenstaff is knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Andi, his PA, is also relaxed and very informative. I recommend Pinnacle at 30 N. Michigan Ave to anyone looking for a dermatologist in the loop.

I rarely take the time out to write reviews but I wanted to do my part in making sure people know what to expect before coming to this place. I saw a dermatologist 2 years ago who was very knowledgeable, affordable and did a really great job addressing my concerns. Through her treatment my issues were resolved so I stopped seeing her regularly. Fast forward to about 2 months ago when I decided I needed to see a dermatologist again. I called the number for that office, the scheduler confirmed they had me in the system but the dermatologist I was seeing had moved to a different location that was far from my home. They asked if I wanted to go to a different location that was closer and somehow I was scheduled at this place Pinnacle Dermatology. I came to the office for my appointment and was handed new patient paperwork and I was confused as I had already confirmed with the scheduler on the phone I was in their system. The lady at the front desk let me know this company had no affiliation with the company I was referencing and they did not have me in their system. At this point I had came all the way out to their office during a worldwide pandemic so I asked if my insurance was covered at this place, the lady told me yes and I proceeded on with the appointment. At no point was I called beforehand or told what the cost of my visit would be. I saw doctor Blickenstaff and his assistant for approximately 15 minutes, total he prescribed me a few medications similar to what I told him Id had before and sent me on me way. Very quick for a new patient visit but I didnt think much of it considering I didnt want to be out in public long with the crisis going on anyways. After leaving the office, I went to my pharmacy only to find that one of the prescriptions he prescribed was never even sent in. I tried calling the office the next day to let them know and they were closed due to limited hours, so I left a voicemail explaining they hadnt sent my prescription in and I never received a call back. Fast forward to a few weeks later I get a bill in the mail itemized for a $345 service (without my insurance). THREE HUNDRED AND FORTY FIVE DOLLARS for a 15 minute visit. I spoke to people in billing and they let me know everything was coded and billed accordingly. Even though I explained this entire situation of mis-scheduling, I was never informed of what my visit would cost beforehand and I saw the provider for 15 minutes. As I mentioned before, Id previously been to a dermatologist so its not as if I am not privy to how much visits should be. Even a simple Google search will let you know what the typical cost for a new patient dermatology visit is and this exceeds that. Needless to say I will NEVER be returning to this office again and my issues were not fully resolved as all of my prescriptions were not even sent to my pharmacy. I DO NOT recommend this place at all.

This is a good place to get a quick in/out prescription however not the place if you are looking for a long term doctor with good customer service. I called to schedule an appointment with one of the employees named Holly, confirmed an appointment for 7: 15 am (that I even received a text confirmation for) when I arrived the office did not open until 9 am, I called afterhours twice and they passed on the message. I understand Mistakes happen, however there was no owning up to their mistake. I had to call back to reschedule and they couldnt even fit me in until a few days later for an appointment that didnt last more than 20 minutes. Will no be going back.

They have canceled my appointment 3 times. As it is, it can take months to even get an appointment scheduled (I am not a new patient) and when the appointment comes around, they cancel it?! It’s been 3 times!!! I understand that they have changed some things (I miss Dr. Barbosa!), and they blame scheduling with the new doctors, but get it together guys. I’ve grown frustrated and am looking for a new dermatologist.

The downtown location is a bit dingy / no one seems super happy to be there. I had a total body scan - comparing to my last dermatologist, Chicago Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology (had to change due to insurance), Pinnacle was less detail-oriented, decisions on which moles to remove / how may have not been well thought out, never gave care plans, etc. I plan to find a new place moving forward.

My on-time visit with Dr Blinkenstaff, MD was very impressive and professional. I’d seen 2 other dermatologist in two months seeking relief from skin itch, rash, dry itchy spots. Their previous topicals were not curing the problem.Dr B’s diagnosis was quick as he dictated to his assistant what he was finding and prescribed an ointment and sleeping aids because getting to sleep while itching or using an ice pack had been difficult. No other doctor thought of that.I was very impressed and relieved to now have a top notch dermatologist to take care when care is what I need.

Lets start with the fact that Ive been on Yelp for many years and have NEVER written a review. I dont have time to be writing reviews. It has never been my thing. This should tell you how horrible my experience was with this place. If I could give this place double negative stars I would. First of all, I was a customer of Millennium Dermatology and apparently they were bought out or sold to this horrible place. I never received a card informing me of the change or anything. I called to make an appointment to get a prescription renewed and learned of the change. My appointment was ok, but the follow-up to get my prescription filled was awful. First, they didnt make it clear where my prescription was being filled and when I went to my regular Walgreens, Walgreens did not have my prescription. I tried calling the office to get information on where my prescription was sent and after 5-7 attempts, I couldnt reach anyone who could help me, in most cases, I didnt reach anyone at all - I was sent to a mailbox that was full or the line would simply disconnect. So, I went calling every pharmacy I had every gotten a prescription filled... nothing. A few days later, I tried calling again... several times... being transferred to a line that disconnects each time. A few days after that, I received a call from someone in the office re-reading a note to me about one of my prescriptions that she didnt understand herself because she couldnt answer any of my basic questions - like where is my prescription filled? Is this particular prescription being filled or do I need to try another brand? She then told me to go to my pharmacy to find out... what?!? You want me to waste MORE of my time on a scavenger hunt for my prescriptions. I finally get confirmation of what Walgreens the prescription has been sent to. I give it a few days to make sure it is there. I call Walgreens just today and they have nothing for me. I called the Pinnacle office - the first time, no one answers (per usual) I get a voice mail box that says its full. The second time, I push a different button hoping someone will answer and the line just disconnects. The third time, again, nothing. Finally, someone answers on the fourth ring. Im livid at this point. The original person cant answer any questions, and the second person tells me, well we tried calling you and couldnt get through. Hello, you called me from a totally different number/office, that I dont recognize. Do you know how many telemarketing calls people get today and that the norm is to not answer unrecognized numbers?! And, Im not even going to mention how your call was two weeks after my prescription was supposed to be filled. Then the person proceeds to tell me that shes going to have to have someone call me back to explain whats going on with my prescriptions. Im done. Seeking dermatology recommendations!

Dermatitis, heavy flaking itching scalp. Tried everything and went to some of the the other Top rated dermatology only to have the symptoms to come back again. Ladies you know I’m talking about right in front of your forehead, in the back and on the top feels like something crawling because it itches so damn bad. Today 10/7/18. I am free from the itching filling redness and balding. What sold me is that because she specializes in Afro American skin and knows that it is impossible for us to shampoo our hair everyday like some of the top rated one suggested to suppress the symptoms. She is worth the drive or train ride 1/2 block from milenium station and the pink, red, green, purple and orange line train stops.
