After moving to a chicago I put off finding a new dentist for a long time, but I’m so glad I finally ended up getting around to it and picking this place! I was a little nervous or hesitant the staff, high tech equipment, and overall atmosphere made it a great experience. I ended up needing cavities filled, and they were super efficient and quick. The dentist walked me through everything and made everything he was doing clear.

I really enjoyed my experience. First off, their equipment is the best I’ve personally seen. From the standing mouth X-rays that play classical music while they scan, to the plastic guard that prevents you from choking on tooth particles mid-drilling, they have tech that makes visiting a dentist much more bearable. After a quick prep, I got in the chair promptly and had 4 cavities taken care of in the time I’ve had 1 done by other dentists. My new bite feels great on the first pass, and I feel no pain the next day after my procedure which included more than one filling that was very deep, almost to the nerve.Precise and quick. Really great work. Couldn’t recommend more.

Everyone there was very nice, but the dental hygienist was extremely rough. He didn’t seem able to get to the back of my mouth so he used his hands to push and pull my lips. I was also sprayed in the eye and ear multiple times with the water tool. I’ve never had a painful cleaning before this.

BEST DENTIST EVER! The staff is so kind and it never hurts when I go to get my teeth cleaned unlike my past dentist whom I felt was yanking my teeth out when cleaning them!:) also extremely affordable compared to my last dentist by half. Always an easy visit to come here I’m glad I found it!

I was here today to get my wisdom teeth removed. Usually I don’t like visiting doctors , but this place is amazing, everything is so clean n high tech, doctor and his assistant were friendly, polite, they let me put some show on Netflix and were keeping me calm, cause I was scared. They really took good care of me. They done really good job. After I got home, couple hours later dr. Jin called me to make sure if I’m feeling okay, this is so nice of them, checking up on patients:) ☺️🥰🥰🥰🥰

I scheduled an initial cleaning and preventive visit here after a lapse in dental care due to being uninsured and I was very pleased with my experience.The office is very clean with a minimalistic style and I appreciated the air purifier in the waiting room. The dental hygienist charged with my care was excellent and the whole intake process was very smooth. Dr. Maeng was an excellent provider that explained all of the X-Ray findings and management decisions clearly and thoroughly. As a healthcare provider myself I was impressed by his bedside manner and steady hand that made a few years of deferred dental maintenance as smooth and painless of an ordeal as possible.I wholeheartedly recommend receiving dental services at Urban Smiles Dental.

I’ve had 2 cleanings here and a cavity filling that was on my front tooth!! So it was a little risky but you can not see anything. It’s perfect. This place is trendy, cute, friendly and very professional. I will continue to come here for all my dental needs.

All the office staff members were friendly and Dr. Maeng was super kind, gentle, and professional. I’ve been yelled at and judged by staff/clinicians before, but there was none of that here and I really appreciated that, especially as a very anxious person. Dr. Maeng’s assistant (I’m sorry I forgot your name!) was good at explaining things and was gentle but efficient as well. Like others stated, the equipment and office space in general is modern and clean. I really hope they don’t change, except for the better, because I had a great first impression and I usually struggle to find dentists I trust. I highly recommend Urban Smiles Dental :)

I had the best dental experience in my life with Dr. Maeng. I initially came in for my wisdom tooth extraction, however, with his on-site thorough x-ray machine, he identified another serious issue with my other tooth as well. I ended up having to pull out two teeth, however, he provided me with very detailed explanation as well as expectations and a healing process. He even turned on my fav show on Netflix to calm my nerves. I highly recommend this clinic to everyone. Everyone is nice, attentive and most importantly considerate of your time and feelings!

It is a very professional dentist practice operation. The waiting area is very comfortable and spacious, minimal paperwork and very little waiting time. The dentists are very patient listeners, professional with latest equipment. I was extremely satisfied and will visit again.

Urban Smiles Dental was so easy to make an appointment with, and so easy to check in, they even texted before my arrival to get all of my insurance information so they were ready for me when I got there. The staff was all very friendly and welcoming, the x-rays were fast and efficient. Dr. Maeng and his assistant were great at explaining the x-rays and course of treatment. I had 4 small cavities and 1 deeper one and it took about 20 minutes for everything to be cleaned and filled. I appreciated the lack of small talk during the procedure as well. The technology and Dr. Maengs skills made everything more comfortable than any dentist Ive been to before.

Good dentist. Appointment was on time and cleaning was thorough. They don’t seem drill happy, which is hard to find in the city.

I was in pain, needed an emergency. I had a root canal and Dr. Jin was able to do it right away and in less then an hour, even being my first consult with him ever. I was super happy and amazed with the equipment that he has that made the process less painful and how fast and smooth the procedure went, besides the place has a nice and cozy interior design with friendly staff. Will be back for sure for everything that I need, including aesthetic treatments. Highly recommended.

I was able to book an appt for the same day through Zocdoc. The office is beautiful, everything looks super clean and new. I ended up needing to get five fillings. Dr. Maeng and his dental assistant were both great! They very clearly explained everything they were doing, worked quickly and the procedure was nearly painless. Definitely recommend!

The entire staff is accommodating and genuine. Dentist is kind, actually cares and wants to help you. Everyone tells you the truth and takes the time to get to know you. Office is clean, stylish and comfortable. Sitting in the chair and watching your favorite show on Netflix is a nice touch. I went in for a tooth extraction. I was weary because I dont have dental insurance but needed an emergency tooth extraction. The whole experience was amazing. From the front desk to Chris to Dr. Maeng, everyone was great. The extraction took about 20 mins. I would definitely recommend!

Dr. Jin Young Maeng treated me for my first dental appointment in years. I had a chipped tooth with some discoloration that’d been there since I was about 11 years old. It’s always been such a massive insecurity of mine, and he fixed it in 20 minutes. It’s like it was never there. He absolutely changed my life. The atmosphere was very comfortable and I wasn’t as anxious as I thought I’d be going into it. The staff was also very kind and professional. They’re very good at their jobs. 10/10!

The staff at this office are all very professional. They take proper Covid precautions and the office is very clean. The dentist himself exams and cleans your teeth so you know he is doing a great job. He explains any concerns he has and listens to yours. They let you watch Netflix while you’re sitting in the chair but you’re in and out anyway!

Genuinely the nicest and most helpful dental office I have ever been to. They explained everything, they were so quick, there was a little discomfort from the extraction the next day, as expected, but during the visit it was absolutely painless. 10/10 would recommend. I want to thank Dr. Jin and his team. I was received immediately with a appointment, when most surgeons wanted 4-6 weeks wait time. I feel very appreciated that Dr. Jin squeezed me in his schedule. Love this place, they have always been very friendly and professional. You never have to wait, they call you right in at the time of the appointment, the dentist takes the time to explain every procedure that he is doing without rushing. Would highly recommend.

I went to Dr. Jin for the first time and I had to have an emergency procedure and he was the best dentist I have been to. I have some health issues and he was super gentle and made sure I was doing okay throughout the entire procedure. Hadn’t been to the dentist in 2 years and decided on Urban Smiles mostly because of location. Friendliest staff and they let you choose what you want to watch on Netflix while you’re in there. Had my first cavity filled here - two actually - and was in an out within about 20 minutes. They also keep the front door locked to ensure only one patient in waiting room at a time as a Covid precaution. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a dentist.

Went to Urban Smiles Dental in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. I was in so much pain, and they accepted to see me the next day which was a huge relief. From there, I received outstanding care from the whole team in a clean and thoughtful environment. Dental care is not cheap in the US, and I don’t have insurance so I was a little scared of the cost but they did their best to accommodate me, and provided excellent follow-up. Recommend warmly !

Best Dentist in the area. I’ve been to multiple dentist to find the best fit, and Urban Smiles was the best.They make you comfortable first and foremost. First time seeing a Dentist after so many years. I was greeted with such kind staff and MD. MD Jin was great in explaining what I needed for personal oral care and the procedure that I needed while also minimizing pain. I am not a fan of dentists but I felt comfortable and safe, at this office. Definitely recommend. I am due for 2 more visits, and hopefully would still be able to see him next year, if my Insurance allows it.

Guys, to preface this I have gone to my share of dentists over the course of my brief yet cavity riddled life. The office is modern and comfortable. There is Netflix to distract you and all the things to ease the process of having your teeth worked on. You don’t leave with wet hair or an uncomfortable bite. I give this dentist five stars.

This is the BEST dental clinic I have ever been. Besides the best dentist in town their office is brand new which is very clean and neat. Also, there are plenty of parking space available! No need to worry about parking. Took my whole family for a checkup. The appoint went smoothly for all of us thanks to their accommodating and modern office, friendly staff, and super care from Dr. Jin. He discovered a couple of trouble areas and took care of it on the spot without having to make additional appointments! He was very professional. I have a deep fear of going to the dentist and recently came here for the first time to get a cleaning and to get my wisdom teeth taken out as it was causing discomfort. I’ve had one wisdom tooth taken out years ago from a dentist back in Michigan and it was not the best experience. So I was hesitant at first to get the other two taken out but the doctor at Urban Smiles helped me stay calm and honestly it was the best experience anyone could expect when going in to get your teeth extracted. He made sure the entire time I was doing okay and that I wasn’t in any pain or discomfort. Would definitely recommend to friends and family!

Ive been to see Dr. Maeng twice in the past 3 months and have had a fantastic experience both times. I went first in June 2020 for a general semi-annual cleaning, and both Dr. Maeng and his staff were excellent: cordial, congenial, patient, thoughtful, and willing to answer all of my questions (I usually have a lot). I had 3 cavities which Dr. Maeng filled and sealed - excellent job - have not had any issues in the past 3 months so far. After my cleaning, I emailed Dr. Maeng to ask him for a dental rinse / mouthwash recommendation and he replied quickly with a very comprehensive answer. Ive since followed his recommendation and am pleased with my new mouthwash. I went in to see Dr. Maeng for the second time in mid September 2020 because I had pain and swelling in my upper right gums / roof of mouth, likely due to hot and crunchy foods I had eaten the prior week. I wanted to make sure there wasnt anything serious or complicated. Dr. Maeng took me as a walk-in, inspected the site of injury, provided his diagnosis, and answered my questions about the implications, all at no charge. He instructed me to rinse with warm salt water and come back in 1+ week if it hadnt resolved or started to subside. Im fully recovered and very thankful to Dr. Maeng for his expert advice and willingness to help. This guy is spectacular: smart, knowledgeable and caring. Id recommend to all of my family and friends in a heartbeat.

Great staff and Dentist. He removed two wisdom teeth. Smooth procedure. Just wish he prescribed something for the pain besides take Tylenol 🤕 feeling it right now. Everyone was pretty surprised by that. He probably saw how tough I was 💪🏽 jk jk. Overall good experience!

I wanted whitening for a long time, but I couldnt because I was worried about my exposed tooth roots getting hurt. Last week, I went to the urban smile dental for whitening. This dentist was very careful and meticulously covered the gum area and performed teeth whitening without pain. I worried a lot, but in the end I got a very satisfying white tooth. Very pleasant and perfect work at urban smile. Clean and stylish facilities were also satisfactory.

Just went today and Im a huge fan! The staff is so friendly. Miriam greets you once you come in the door, Chris does a very thorough job as your tech with x-rays and cleaning (explaining every step!) And Dr. Jin is very personable and takes time to go through all the details of any issues with you. Very clean, brand new office. Super convenient location. I dont drive but if you do, theres a ton of parking. Highly recommend!
