I have always been really anxious at the dentist, but this was a totally different experience! Dr. Alkass was very thorough and gentle. He really took time to explain things, show me what was going on, and come up with a reasonable treatment plan. The practice has some great technology and the space is nice. Dora, the dental hygienist was also very thorough and did a great job giving me strategies. I really appreciated that the team communicated so well with one another. Very professional and welcoming!

Everyone there was super nice, very professional, and incredibly pleasant. I’ve never had a more enjoyable experience at a dentist in my life. Insurance was taken care of completely and used to the fullest extent without my involvement, I was given a really gentle cleaning, and the hygienist and dentist were both really awesome in explaining everything they were doing as they were working on me.

I never expected to be leaving a rave review for a dentist after having so many bad experiences in my life, but am so glad to be writing this! My husband had a great experience at Smiles on Elston as a new patient so I decided to try them as well. We scheduled appointments for ourselves and our son for his first ever dental visit at 15 months old. The staff were immediately welcoming and kind, and everyone was so good with our son! As much as I usually fear dental appointments, I was never uncomfortable and felt very well taken care of. I’m so relieved to finally have a dental practice that I will be happy to come back to!

Very friendly staff from the front door to the doctor’s chair. I find them very caring about the patient. I’ve been to other dentists in the past where they seem more interested in laying out a plan that maximizes how much money they get from your health plan than your oral health, and Smiles on Elston was not like that in the least. I’m very glad I found them.

This practice is absolutely amazing. From the front desk, the people in between to the doctor wonderful experience we had. Called 945am asking if my husband can be seen for excruciating pain. The lady at the front desk was very nice and answered all my questions. Made a 11am appointment same day. Once we arrived we were welcomed and attended to right away. Paperwork was filled out and they took us right in. Examined by the doctor fairly quickly, Went over treatment plan in detail. Financial aid explained pricing and let me tell you they are very low prices for patients with no insurance. They really try to work with their patients as best as possible while still making sure the patient gets the right help. My husband was in horrible pain for 2 days, but now hes totally different. Still has a little bit of pain and discomfort, but its nothing like it was this morning. I really want to thank you all who took care of us today. We couldnt find a better dentist and staff. You guys rock!

Smiles On Elston is a great dental office in Jefferson Park. It is a very clean and well kept office. The receptionist are very helpful. I went in for a check up and it went great. I had one filling done a few days later with Dr. Alkass that was pain free! I will be telling my friends about Smiles On Elston!

After many years of not seeing a dentist I had an emergency. Doing a Yelp review I found Smiles on Elston. From the first call I felt comforted, then walking in everyone was welcoming and friendly. The receptionists are very sweet and the office is very clean, as it should be. My check up was fine, they walked me through my dental history. They also were very efficient, I was in and out within an hour. I went to Dr Alkass with an ongoing crown issue that my previous dentist was not capable of fixing. I had an appt. today as a new patient and was informed that my appt. will not happen because dentist had a procedure. I informed the receptionist that I drove an hour for this appt. and even received text message to confirm appt. Dentist did not even care to try to solve issue except receptionist said sorry. So unprofessional! Assuming dentist does not care about new patients and has enough since this situation should have never happened.

After shamefully not taking care of our teeth (myself & wife) for more than a decade, we finally decided to put a stop to it, and landing on Smiles on Elston only helped us stay consistent with our commitment. Dr. Alkass, Danielle, Stella, and the whole team were extremely understanding, welcoming, professional, and flexible with appointments and last minute cancellations. They function well together effortlessly, and the positive environment they create puts everyone who fears visiting the dentist at ease. I also would like to highlight their high ethical practices when it comes to billing. They really break everything down for you and take the time to explain every question you have. We wish there was more than just six stars because they are really a stand-out in the Chicago area.

Really wanted to like this practice, gave them multiple chances to do right by me, but they are just much too disorganized. Twice he failed to send through prescriptions after our families procedures, leaving us in immense pain. Twice he failed to give me a care plan, even after calling his practice to re-request it. dr. alkass has good bedside manners, but outside of that this entire practice is a sh*t show, including his failure to follow through on his word.At the end of the day, I felt taken advantage of and found an honest, organized practice to complete my care with. Don’t spend your money with a physician who doesn’t care enough to follow through. Shame on you.

I love Smiles on Elston, Dr Alkass and all of his staff! I had several very bad experiences with my previous dental office (Lawrence Plaza Dental/Dr Parker & Associates) and was so happy to find Dr Alkass! I have been going to Smiles on Elston for about 2 years and have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr Alkass and his wonderful staff. In that time, Dr Alkass has redone or fixed several dental problems I had due to inferior work performed by Dr Parker and Dr Chappell at Lawrence Plaza Dental (major stuff, like crowns and fillings not done properly). Unlike Dr Parker and his staff, Dr Alkass is friendly, kind, gentle and explains everything he is doing - and why it needs to be done. I cannot recommend Dr Alkass enough!
