Great experience! Going to the dentist or having dental procedures causes most (including me) some (or more than some) anxiety but South Loop Dental were professional and patient. The office was very clean and they followed COVID protocols very well, cleaning before and after everything. Angie, my dental hygienist,  was kind, had good energy, and answered all of my questions. Dr. Flowers was amazing - he immediately made me feel at ease by introducing himself, making eye contact, and explaining the procedure in full before even looking in my mouth. I didnt feel rushed or like I was asking too many questions with him and that was much appreciated. During the procedure, I was allowed to wear headphones to listen to a book/music to block out the sound and you are given a hand signal if you or they need something. I hope to not have to go back soon but if I do, at least I know its a trusted place!

I was pleasantly surprised by the level of communication and care demonstrated by Dr. Flowers and the South Loop Dental Specialists staff. Root canals aren’t typically walks in the park, but Dr. Flowers and the dental assistant made the experience pain-free and bearable. Also, as a Black woman, it was nice to have a health professional who is knowledgeable of racial/ethnic differences in the presentation of certain dental characteristics.

The staff is friendly and professional. I felt as though they all understood my psychological discomfort. Dr. Flowers is warm, caring, honest and hes very good at his job. He does have that great bedside manner that you want in a doctor. I am not someone who is comfortable with dentistry - however, this office is exceptional. He listens, analyzes and then performs the work that is needed. I was so happy to have this as an option for root canals and other needed services. Yes, I do recommend them.

Just finished up my visit at South Loop Dental Specialist with Dr.Ash. I was referred by my general dentist for a root canal. I called at 7:30 this morning for an emergency appointment because I was experiencing a ton of pain, and I was seen at 11:30. Rachel was amazing in assisting me. The office staff and assistants were very pleasant and welcoming. Leslie kept me informed throughout the entire process. I had anxiety going in but Dr.Ash was amazing during my entire procedure. My procedure went so fast and smooth it was almost unbelievable. I would highly recommend this practice for your dental needs!

South Loop Dental is top of line. Excellent customer service coupled with a top tier level of expertise. Dr. Olguin and his staff are professional yet personable, making what can typically be an unpleasant experience, really quite comforting.

Dr. Flowers doesnt have magic powers, but he is an expert in his field, hes transparent, and has a great bedside manner.Dr. Flowers performed a root canal for me in 2020. I had pain off and on for a couple months and my practice didnt find any issues. Fast forward a few months and I was back in Dr. Flowers office in excruciating pain. Turns out I had an infection below my crown. Dr. Flowers talked me through the options and ultimately cleaned the infection, at no cost, and sent me home. Sadly there were issues with the pain killers he prescribed but I got them 48 hours later and was already on my way to healing. I had residual pain for a few months as it healed and the doctor was there when I needed him. Fast forward almost 1 year later and yet again, the doctors in my practice missed it but Dr. Flowers found that I had a fracture under the crown. Sucks, right? Thats teeth for ya. Dr. Flowers was transparent, honest and like always, had a great bedside manner.Like I told him this morning, thank you Dr. Flowers for helping my post-root canal infection heal, for your patience and your expertise.

The office was nice and clean. Staff were polite and handled everything professionally. The dentist was was very polite and informative. His assistant was as well. Only thing i didn’t agree with was the waiting area being closed due to covid but i can wait in the lobby or downstairs. Another thing i didn’t agree with was the doctors note policy. I asked for one because one of my instructions were to not spit, brush my teeth or drink through a straw for 24hrs. I had work the next day starting at 8am and my 24hrs wouldn’t be up until 12pm. I would recommend seeing them but try doing it when you don’t have work the next day if you’re getting serious work. Other then that, great service and i look forward to going back in the future.

South Loop Dental Specialists are absolutely AMAZING!! Of all the dental offices I’ve gone to over the years between the Midwest and West Coast, my experience with South Loop was more exceptional than all the others combined. I mean this genuinely! They are so professional in all of their patient interactions, and the level of customer service is highly personable. They really go out of their way to explain things, to help you, and most importantly, are the kindest group of specialists I’ve ever met. I rarely write reviews, but I can’t recommend this entire group highly enough!

To make a long story short, when I needed to see a specialist in an emergency the staff at South Loop Dental gave me an appointment within 1 hour. I have had work done before and Dr. Olguin. This time I saw Dr. Graves. They both rate many more stars than used in this rating system. If youre (a) chicken I recommend South Loop. I used to be and they even fixed that too!

Saw Dr Carmen Graves. She did not make me feel confident that she was offering the best treatment plan (was definitely the most costly). I’m getting a second opinion for sure.. maybe a third. I will say that the office staff was very nice.

Staff is very warm and friendly. Making sure I was comfortable, did I have any questions or concerns. I met Dr. Flowers, very nice man, soft spoken, explained everything to me. My reason for my appt was an evaluation with the possibility of a root canal. My evaluation indicated that I didnt need a R.C. I was relieved. By if in the future I do need any endodontial work done Im going back to Dr Flowers. He cares about his patients anxiety and puts them totally at ease. FYI my husband had a root canal done by Dr. Flowers a couple of months ago, he highly recommends Dr. Flowers!

Very upsetting, waste of time my and $245.00 of my money!!!!!!! The referring dentist did not do her diligence…recommending I see a specialist…if she had only reviewed my history of X-rays she would know know what would cause the tooth sensitivity. I feel cheated and hijacked all at once. Needless,to say I will be switching dentists.

Dr. Olguin took my mother as an emergency patient for oral surgery. He explained the procedure and expected outcomes. My mom was treated promptly and most importantly she was out of pain. Additionally, the office staff is courteous and professional from start to finish. Dr. Olguin also checks in on his patients once they leave the office to ensure they are not having any problems. I have never had a dentist to do this before. I am impressed!

I would give lower if I could!Professionalism is questionable.Health of patient comes as a second over “ standard office procedure”and bottom line or cash in their pockets.I have X-rays taken less than 48 hours ago from my dentist. The dentist said she would send them. At least it is a starting point in the analysis of where we were and where we are today. Baseline data.The lab tech lied and said she never got them, then when I pressed, ( because I had called SLD and my dentist to arrange records/ insurance/ Xrays sent prior to coming in). she said it wasn’t in right format, ( jpeg=jpeg) not too difficult there), then Lied again saying it was “ standard office procedure “ to take new ones. So which is it??? Lab technician? Which story am I to believe??This was all “ fishy “ soI called my dentist while I’m in the room at this place and she told me what format.Pretty normal procedure to be able to send X-rays electronically so patients don’t have to be exposed to more radiation than necessary. SLD is on referral list at my dentist. SLD ‘s paperwork is what my dentist wrote a referral on. My dentist said she had a working relationship with you. Proof in have your referrals printed by you in her office. This should not be “ an issue “. Your printed referrals were in her office. That’s what she wrote the referral in.I get it if you examine the x-rays and then decide if you need a new angle or something, but to lie to me multiple times by some tech to boost your bottom line is inexcusable.At least look at the jpeg which if you have any computer- which your office had- you could have done this. At least try to look at a Jpeg. To save patients from unnecessary radiation!!!! Instead your bottom line was more important than exposing patients to unnecessary radiation!!!I walked out.They lie.They are willing for you to be exposed to more radiation than you need because they are more concerned about money over your health!!

It’s always a pleasant experience with Dr. Ash! Who could say that about someone who’s done your root canal? He first reworked on a bad root canal job that was done by another doctor many years ago and I was extremely happy. No pain at all. He also checked the other tooth that the same doctor also hacked sure enough it was also already infected. So I went back in for another root canal correction. I highly recommend this clinic. Everyone is friendly and made me feel at ease from making the appointment all the way to the end Of the visit.

I have 28 years in healthcare with two degrees in healthcare management. Let me ask you, why was I SUPER FEARFUL TO COME IN TO CHECK ON A TOOTH THAT HAS BEEN GIVING ME TROUBLE SINCE DECEMBER of 2020? I had it treated and it was in need of being restored by my dentist. However, since the tooth restored was so deep, the nerve died over the course of time and eventually causing an abscess to develop and literally did so overnight. I usually hate the dentist, most of the time it’s so routine then out the way you go... but today I had an emergency tooth extraction, I called in at 8am and had an appointment by 9am. Doctor De’Avlin V. Olguin and Yardi assisted me through the whole process. They were very detailed and yet didn’t make me feel like I was just another patient with a routine appointment. My insurance didn’t cover the process and still I was offered multiple payments methods. Dr De’Avlin even provided me with a primary care referral he trusts. Front desk was also amazing, I called a week prior but due to me being 26 weeks at the time I wasn’t able to be seen without a medical clearance, she not only advices me on how to get one but even remembered my name, how many weeks I am and what I called for just by me telling her the day i called in prior. I’ll give them 5 starts across the boardClean, friendly, knowledgeable, great time management, diverse and easy to find

Their customer service is extremely rude. I asked for the price range of wisdom teeth extraction, which is a pretty standard procedure. They said, you have to do clinical consultation before anything which they will charge money for. I asked for a general price range. They said, depending on what your insurance covers, we will charge random amount to maximize payment. I asked to talk to the doctor, customer service said, no I can’t do that. This seems to be a clinic that takes every opportunity to maximize on money they can make and they fail to provide patient simple answers to a standard question. How is wisdom teeth extraction price not transparent? Why do I need to pay extra so that they can take a look for such a standard procedure.

I had my first visit at South Loop Dental with Dr. Olguin. The entire staff that I encounter during my visiting was very professional, friendly and welcoming. I honestly felt like I was hanging out with some old friends.The office is easily accessible, clean and comfortable. Dr. Olguin bedside manner was the best! It doesnt even feel like your at the dentist lol He was very professional, funny and he explained the process of the procedure with ease and in layman terms. I have gone to a few Dentist in different states and this was the first time it was explained to me in which I completely understood. Thanks again for my initial appointment it was great!

I had an amazing experience. I have been one who has embodied a deeply embedded fear of going to the dentist. I was scheduled rather far out, but I valued my initial interaction so I was happy to commit. Dr. Olguin is amazing. I am having my wisdom removed and he explained they whys and hows, the clinics procedures and post op instructions. He also detailed their COVID air handling policies so I would feel safe. I needed to have a root canal done. They walked me through every last detail and made absolutely sure I was comfortable the whole time. I appreciated how pain free they made my procedure and how quickly they had me out of there.

I went in for a crown lengthening, nervous because Id watched a YouTube video of the procedure prior to my appointment. Within minutes, after meeting and speaking with my dentist and assistant, I was reassured and relaxed. The procedure was mostly painless and even though I filled my prescription for the stronger meds (just in case I needed them), I never did need them. Definitely would go come back for needed dental work.

Long wait time (was told procedure would be less than 1 hour so I went on lunch break, ended up waiting an hour before even seeing someone) and hidden fees after paying over $1500 in dental work. Would avoid.

Saw Dr. Olguin as an emergency patient due to swelling and infection in my jaw. Although I was very sad to be told the tooth that Id just spent $ to have crowned needed to be extracted, he was quick and kind and the procedure couldnt have gone any better. I feel so lucky - thanks so much SLDS!

I wish I hadnt put this off! Great staff and Dr. Flowers was so gentle! I had sensitivity after a deep cavity. I was thinking the nerve might calm down but it never really did. After about a year, I finally went in for the root canal. I was nervous but I shouldnt have been because it didnt hurt at all and now I have no more sensitivity! Im so happy I can drink very cold water and eat soup with no problems. Im very happy :) Thank you!

Requested antibiotics for my tooth. Paid Visit should require something other than telling me a required treatment. They wanted me to go in 2 weeks while waiting in pain and tooth infection. They didn’t offer anything for the paid either. Definitely not the kind of dentist I would recommend going if you ever needed anything done as an emergency.

First the front desk was considerate in finding me an appointment a month out, but somebody cancelled so I was called and they were able to get me in within 3 days. Dr. Olguin’s assistant, Yari, was extremely comforting in making me feel welcomed and at ease. Now Dr. Olguin, was beyond impressive in explaining what needed to be done and why. I was going out of town in 5 days and wasn’t sure if I needed to take care of it before or after. He gave me two scenarios I could take with getting it extracted. I decided to wait until I returned, but that night the infected tooth started hurting again.I called the next morning and his office staff, Kimberly, was able to get me in the same day or the following day early as an emergency. I came in the following morning early and Dr. Olguin performed a painless extraction. I’ve never experienced that before. This is the second day and still no pain and feeling great and thankful for Dr. Olguin and Yari. They took great care of me as an emergency patient. I’m spreading the word. My insurance didn’t pay a lot, but it was worth every out of pocket expense. You can’t buy a peace of mind!

I am extremely pleased with South Loop Dental Specialists. I needed a root canal and they were able to fit me in the same day. They didnt have any appointments available but said they would fit me in between their already full schedule. I was prepared to have to wait once I arrived but I was taken straight back and was in and out in just over an hour. I was nervous as this was first root canal but aside from the getting the anesthesia, the procedure itself was completely pain free. Honestly, I almost fell asleep during it, lol. Definitely recommed!

Dr. Flowers and his staff are very professional and polite. He is the best hands down. I cant say enough about him and staff. Highly recommended!! Oh and Angie his assistant was great too.

I am new to the city and was referred to Dr. Olguin. The staff is very professional, welcoming, and well-orchestrated. Dr. Olguin is simply the best there is when it comes to his skills! He is very patient and provides a genuine attitude in the care of his patients. I’m very glad to have been referred to his practice and will keep him as my dental specialist even if for some reason I relocate again.

My experience here was stellar. Everything was explained in a way that the average person can understand and their recommendations are driven by what is in the patient’s best interest. I went here for a periodontal consultation and wish I had gone here for my endodontal work, as well.

I have seen Dr. Flowers several times over the past 6 years for (unfortunate) dental emergencies since my teeth are prone to breaking. Dr. Flowers provides excellent explanations as to what needs to be done and why. He has also gently explained when a tooth could not be saved. I have always felt like Im in good hands and trust his professional assessment.

Dr Flowers and his Team are outstanding! My 9yr old son suffered trauma to his front adult teeth and we were referred to Dr Flowers by our dentist.1)The office team is extremely friendly and efficient. All of our appointments run exactly on time. The team explained our insurance benefits to us so we were not caught off guard with unexpected fees. They have been very accommodating with scheduling even when it has been for an emergency appointment.2)The office is extremely clean and well organized. They are very strict with following COVID safety protocols and it’s much appreciated.3)Last, but certainly not least Dr Flowers!! Not only is he an accomplished specialist, but his personality is the best- especially for a 9yr old boy and his anxious mom lol. Dr. Flowers takes the time to speak to both of us In ways we both understand addressing all of our questions and concerns. I trust him wholeheartedly. His care and compassion Is reassuring as we navigate through this injury. He made it point to check on my son while he was on vacation to make sure he was doing well.I highly recommend Dr Flowers!

The customer service is very rude (just like someone said). In the end they billed me 500 for X-ray and consultation (just for one time consultation for root canal or surgical procedure). Maybe this place is okay for simple treatment, but I would avoid this place at any cost for any major procedure.

South loop dental....may be good and I respect each persons review but Dr. Flowers is unjust he did a exam on my tooth for pain said.. I needed a fill in for the crown issue. I had more pain,A while later.Dr.Flower denies doing it,when he did.At least see your verified patients to see. Not good business and I dont write reviews,normally,but for unjust practice, Dr.Flowers I will, However, I support good work and people,just not my experience here!

Nobody likes going to the dentist but if you need serious work done ( like root canal), this is the place. Very professional from greeting, the exam, billing and ambiance of the waiting and exam room.

I will start off by saying I typically dont leave reviews. The staff was amazing smiling faces kind accommodating, Professional. I would definitely recommend them 😊
