Ive been a patient for 17 years and I refuse to go anywhere else. The doctors are caring. The technicians are fabulous and are so helpful! They have an awesome selection of eyeglass frames! I am a Tom Ford fan.

I’ve been going to Village Eye Care for a long time, like 15 years. All staff members have always been great and of course Dr. Sarai. Everyone gives the best care and service, as well as being personable.

Thanks for allowing me remember what real customer service looks and feel like during a time when people are treated so haphazardly. Village Eyecare is an excellent operation with a caring staff and Doctor Sarai is awesome. Your establishment is over the top and represents the model of services, that needs to be duplicated throughout the industry.

Village Eyecare provided excellent service from beginning to end. They made sure everything was cleaned, even the chairs in the lobby area. All my questions were answered and eveyone helped me. I was totally comfortable which is a huge concern of mine because of my eye condition. The doctor was fabulous, her bedside manner was A+. I highly definitely recommend Village Eyecare.

I could not have been happier with the service, the staff, nor the facility. Other than parking which was a bit tricky, my experience was perfect. I was extremely leery after having little success with contacts in the past. Based on complications from a botched Lasik procedure (at another facility), I have been struggling with my vision for 15+ years. My new Sclera contacts will arrive in 2-3 weeks. The difference alone after putting in just the diagnostic lenses was life-changing. I cannot thank this wonderful, experienced team enough for changing how I will look at life moving forward.

The staff are phenomenal. This place really gave what it was supposed to gave. The patience, the thoroughness is astounding. They really go above and beyond. Villiage Eye Care on Taylor Street has been the best eye doctor I’ve ever had. Although a bit on the expensive side, you get what you pay for. The quality of service is excellent. I secured three promotions since I began to utilize their service. I’m an analyst, therefore my quality of sight is of the utmost importance.I’ve been wearing glasses since kindergarten, so I know what I’m talking about. I get compliments on all my glasses I have gotten from Villiage eye care. I have computer lenses, sunglasses and progressive lenses. Lori is my favorite assistant. She knows how to touch the glasses to form any of the frames perfectly to ensure they fit and sit on my face just right. Her touch is like magic. The glasses feel so good I never take them off! The receptionist and staff are so helpful. Called today for an emergency to be seen and the receptionist Brenna was top notch. She right away got me in to see the doctor. When I got to the place, the staff gets a 10. Doctor was amazing and did an amazing exam. They will be my to go place for all exams going forward. Excellent care by everyone. I appreciated the fact that I was given trial pairs of contact lenses before opening a box of lenses that I purchased.

Doctors are the best. Very thorough and efficient, but also very personable.Office staff is not great. I’ve gone here annually for the last 4 years and every single year, getting my order has been atrocious. One year they ordered the wrong contacts 3 separate times. One year they kept ordering trials that I didn’t need/want. This year, I placed my order and was told 3-5 days. 10 days later I called to check and “Oops! We forgot to order them! AND our server is down so we don’t have your prescription.”I think this will be my last time ordering from them. I’ll have my appointment and take my prescriptions with me. It’s just not worth the hassle.

Great Doctors and Staff, Amazing Experience & Very Comfortable Atmosphere.

I had a very good experience here for my contact lens exam and fitting. I was a little anxious before my appointment mainly because I didn’t know what to expect as it was my first contact lens exam but everyone was extremely professional and friendly, which really calmed me down quickly. Dr. Sarai was very helpful in explaining a lot of things to me about my eyes that I didn’t know before. He is very friendly and just the easiest person to talk to. I found the staff to be very kind, helpful and patient too in answering all my questions. I would give this place six stars if I could!

I cannot express enough how amazing Dr Sarai is! I first met him in 2018....at that time I felt like I had no hope. I had worked with a different doctor for months who tried to fit me for scleral lenses, and after taking a lot of my time and a huge amount of my money this doctor said he couldnt help me. I was so upset, but decided to reach out to a couple of more doctors. I was shocked when just minutes after sending my email I received a call from Dr Sarai (he actually called me from his car). He assured me he would do everything he could to help me if I would give him a chance. A few days later I drove 1 hr and 45 minutes to his office with little hope, but was so impressed. From the moment I walked into his office the entire experience was so welcoming and warm. I was greeted by amazing staff, and Dr Sarai ended up being that light at the end of the tunnel for me. He was kind, caring, and actually heard me. He fit me with sclerals, and my world felt hopeful again. It took a few tries, but was so worth it in the end. I am so grateful that he brought sight back into my life.....I can see my husband, my kids, and my beautiful grandson. None of that would have been possible without him. If you have keratoconus he is completely worth it. I would drives hours and hours to see him!!!

Be very careful with the sales pitch for contacts and glasses. They will push and if the contacts are not covered by insurance (weeks later) bill you for the additional amount. It would be better to go through somewhere cheaper like Walgreens or 1-800 Contacts and then try to hash it out with your vision insurance (if its available).

Ive been dealing with Keratoconus for the past 35 years. Ive had 4 major surgeries (transplants) & seen countless doctors & specialists in 3 different countries. After all of this I had pretty much given up on seeing normally again. Shadowing, blurring, discomfort, & limited wear time was the norm for me. Then I stumbled across Dr. Sarai, who fitted me for a new set of scleral lenses, which I had been wearing for years but the doctors fitting them before could never get it quite right. The first time he set the lenses on my eyes I could not believe the difference... Now, at 55 years old, I see better than I ever have. It is the first time I have seen clearly since I discovered I had corneal issues in my late teens. If I could give 6 stars I would.

They are always so accommodating and thorough. In the past, with other clinics and doctors, I felt that the details were never explained and I would have to walk out wondering what was really said and done. Here, I leave feeling confident that my money was well spent and that I know what is going on with my eye health.

He has been an excellent optometrist for myself and my husband. Even after moving away from the city, we still prefer to make the trek in to see him. Its worth it to us. This was the first eye exam Ive ever been to (a little late I know), but they made everything super easy! The intake, actual visit and exam, as well as ordering glasses was made very easy by the staff and they are all very helpful and knowledgeable about the products and services offered!

Weve been coming here for the last 3 years. I absolutely love it here. The place is so clean and has a modern appeal. The staff are all very friendly and they are really good with kids. I have even been to their South Loop location and same atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Great visit - it was my first visit to the eye doctor in a long time! Everyone was wonderful and helpful. When told I had a stigma, the time was taken to explain what that was (again, many years since I had my eyes checked). Entire staff was friendly and helpful in choosing my glasses (big decision)! Glasses were ordered and ready extremely fast as well. Glad I chose this as my practice.

I found this place through google. It was close and they offered late appointment times which was perfect because its down the street from my job. Office was very neat, clean and up to date on all technology. Staff were very friendly and helped me choose the best/most stylish frames for my face :). I was in and out within an hour, having had an eye exam and sorting through potential frames. The Doctor was also great. Id highly recommend.

Always a great visit! Ive been coming to this location for 10 years. Everyone here, from the people in front to the technicians assisting with exams to the physicians are all extremely nice and pleasant. The office is also very pretty, clean and smells really nice! They have water or coffee if you need a drink and a small but convenient parking spot in the back.

Great staff and service! The optometrist was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and the location was well organized and superbly clean. The staff gave me tons of help picking out new frames and advising me on while contacts I should use. They even gave a 30% discount for buying their contacts and frames together from them. Will happily go there again! Cant wait till my new glasses are ready (they have an in-house technician who makes the glasses!).

The doctor and staff were really kind and helpful. The appointment was fast, and the receptionists helped pick out glasses for my boyfriend and me. The glasses themselves were far more expensive than I expected, but Ive never bought any before-- Im guessing that would be the case, regardless of where I bought them. Overall, Im really happy I came here.

VE is so consistent in their care and superior customer service. I have been raving about them to friends and family. Some of my friends who wear contacts will probably be making their way over soon. I’ve appreciated being able to be one of Dr. Sarai’s patients. He’s so kind and professional. I had a lot of trauma, due to my history. He has helped my fears to gradually subside. The price point for certain eyewear packages is s a plus if you are between insurance plans. I was waiting on my insurance to become active at a my new job. I ended up getting a COMPLETE pair of glasses for less than $200. Packages can vary based on prescription and brand of frame, but if you don’t have vision benefits available for glasses, VE has some packages that START AT $175 (conservatively).

I have been a patient of Dr. Serai for over a decade and have only experienced the highest level of expertise and professionalism. He keeps up to date with the latest science and is an expert in chronic dry eye.

I had my first checkup in a long time at Village Eyecare a few weeks ago. It was so relieving to experience clean spaces, a very friendly staff, a quick appointment, and, of course, the waiting room Keurig. I am very thankful to the employees in the front who were so patient while I took forever to decide on my first pair of glasses. While nobody really wants to go to a doctors appointment, Im definitely not dreading my next visit to Village Eyecare.

Taylor Street location is my choice. Ive been going there since they opened their doors. It is so well lit and is convenient for me since I live nearby. Parking in the area has improved. Dr. Sariai is a great Dr., and has the latest equipment. The staff is friendly and professional, always greeting you when you walk through the doors.

Very friendly staff - I especially love the quirky, Hello Kitty-loving gal at the front. Everyone always takes the time to listen to any questions or concerns. Theres sometimes a bit of a wait if theyre especially busy, but its never been egregious and Ive never had a problem with it. I would absolutely recommend this place.

The first time we went was for our 6 yr old daughter who desperately wanted glasses. They did several tests. And in the end recommended we wait Im getting her glasses because the prescription was just slight. They didnt try and talk us into them. They were all very friendly and no one lost it while she was trying in glasses. It was so positive I returned for myself. I received the same kind informative treatment. And they really took the time to explain what my insurance covered so I could get the most out of my visit. I am very happy and now I will send my husband too. Would definitely recommend!

This is a great office and a very skilled doctor. Dr. Sarai did an outstanding job fitting my eyes with scleral and Kerasoft lenses. I was impressed with how much time Dr. Sarai always spent with me - this is unlike most other offices. They advised me what insurance to buy and then we tried couple of different lens types to best fit my eyes. I feel like this is a top notch place considering all kinds of equipment they have and the fitting work they did for me. Also, since I was advised what insurance plan to buy, I paid only for insurance and some small extra money for saline solution, etc. I highly recommend Dr. Sarai to all, but especially to those with astigmatism or keratoconus.

This is the best optometrist I have visited. I am nearsighted and have needed glasses since I was about 9 years old, so I’ve had to see my fair share of optometrists throughout my life. The doctors and technology here are the most advanced I have seen in any office. I didn’t even know I had been living with astigmatism until Dr. Sarai informed me, that’s something all my past doctors failed to fill me in on. Great staff here, everyone is courteous, professional and very helpful.

I went to the Village Eyecare just 2 days ago, and I thought it was one of the best eye exams Ive had. The doctor was great, and answered all of my questions. The people are really friendly and helped me pick out the perfect pair of glasses :) I would definitely recommend this place!

The doctors here helped me after a very painful eye injury. They were prompt, professional, and informative. If youve never had an eye injury then you should thank your lucky stars! It is frighening and confusing. Im grateful that Village Eyecare was able to assist me at midnight (!) over the phone and then first thing the following morning. Appointments were easy and on time. The doctors visits (Ive had three so far) were amiable and directions were very clear. As a side note, I Love how fashionable everyone on staff is. That may seem superficial, but its just the type of superficiality that I find righteous at a doctors office! I visited both the Hyde Park and University Village locations, and I was quite pleased, even inside of my discomfort caused by a painful eye. I plan on spending some hard-earned money on a new pair of glasses from them as soon as Im fully healed. Go see these folks!

My eye exam started promptly and I did not have to wait at all. Dr. Heisler was courteous and professional. She even noticed a mole in my eye that no one has ever noticed! It was a really great experience! It was an incredibly clean, modern office with friendly staff, and they even offer you coffee or water while you wait for the doctor. Dr. Sood was courteous, friendly, and made me feel like a human being. I highly recommend and will undoubtedly be returning in the future.

The office is clean and modern, and I loved the coffee & water station setup. I really didnt like the long wait time (I was waiting for a total of an hour, and spent 2 hours at the office). They also tried to overcharge me $45 because they didnt do their math right or didnt know what my insurance covered. Luckily I had brought in my insurance paper that listed coverage amounts, because otherwise I wouldnt have been able to challenge them on it. They need to train their outgoing receptionist staff better. They do get three stars because the eye doctor was very helpful and listened to my eye history to make the appointment go faster.

I have been seeing Dr Sarai since he opened his practice at University Village. Dr Sarai and his staff are very professional and always respectful to patients. I have full confidence in Dr Sarais assessments and I always recommend them, I think they are the best optometrists in the city.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sarais for over ten years. This past year I have had some issues with my regular soft contacts correcting my astigmatism. Dr. Sarai suggested hybrid contacts and I couldnt be more pleased with the results. I am seeing better than I have in a long time.

In the past two years, Ive been there twice for annual checkups. Both times were great. Dr. Sarai is friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The only constructive feedback I can give is the wait time because I waited a long time both times--an hour at the most recent checkup.

My wife goes here yearly, we chose this place as its close to the library and other shopping places. The neighborhood is very friendly and there is usually parking available on the street. They do have a few spots in the back of their office so if you cant find a spot stop in and ask. They are really good at preventive care and diagnosing symptoms. My wife has had eye problems for years and she is always hesitant to go to a new place but after experiencing this place many years ago, she now goes yearly and I do every couple of years. The staff is awesome and the eye doctor know his stuff.

It was a good experience and the Optometrist was informative. Everyone was professional and very quick, but imo a lil too quick---and that means more space for errors, so I felt rushed, maybe because it was end of day too. It is very difficult to find a good Optometrist these days, I have been searching for a long time! This Optometrist is the most decent one I have found and thoroughly checked my eyes. They are also technologically advanced. They forgot to give me a hand copy of my glasses prescription, but they emailed it to me right away, which was nice.

I generally go to their Wabash location but Ive been to their Taylor Street location a few times as well. The doctors are excellent and really take the time to do a thorough exam, taking care and time to fully explain everything instead of rushing through each appointment. I cant say enough good things about this place!

Ive been using glasses and contacts since I was a child and this is by far the best optometrist I have ever gone to. The most complete exam Ive had covered by insurance in very nice office. They are prompt and efficient and Ive never been happier or more confident with recommendations.

UPDATE: 11/13/2017 - I absolutely love Village Eyecare. Everything in my original review still stands, but I increased my rating because they were much more timely this time around. I dont know if its because there was only one other patient in the waiting room or if they improved their process, but my husband and I were examined right away. Also, we were examined about 10 minutes apart from each other (even though our appointments were 30 minutes apart), and there really wasnt much waiting around. Dr. Sarai and everyone else are so knowledgeable, friendly, and professional.My husband and I chose to go to Village Eyecare because of the excellent reviews it has as well as how close it is to our home. We really love the University Village location. Theres plenty of street parking around, and they have a small lot in the back. Everyone is friendly and accommodating. The only reason I wouldnt give a 5/5 is because we waited so long during the two times we went (annuals). On our most recent visit, my husband and I were there for over an hour. The actual eye exams took about 10-15 minutes each, but I found myself waiting around in the exam room. Overall, though, we love the staff and Dr. Sarai, who is always so knowledgeable and friendly.

They have a lot of new equipment that Ive never seen before for eye exams--I didnt have to get my eyes dilated! Really cool to see that data on my eye shape and dryness. Doctor led me through and taught me a lot. Prices on contacts were lower than costco and come in the next day.

I’ve been going to Village Eyecare for two years now and it’s amazing year over year how many new tools and devices Dr. Pepsi Sarai invests in; they do very thorough examinations with the latest technology, so they’ll have the right tools for proper diagnosis/prognosis. There are a lot of optometrists to choose from in the Chicagoland area but the courteous staff and technology encompassed in the facility will make you want to come back.

The front office staff are very friendly and have a good sense of humor. The doctor is also friendly and answered all of my questions. I and my kids go there and have been very happy with the services.

I had an appointment with Dr. Mathson at the Taylor St. location last week. I was very impressed with all of the staff. I had some trouble with my insurance but they were very patient in contacting my provider to get the answers they needed. I have been coming to Village Eye Care for over a decade. I am consistently met with professionalism, timeliness, and courtesy. I never feel like I am made to wait of that I am being charged for unnecessary things.I have continued coming here even after moving up to Lakeview (which is full of eye places) because I dont believe anyone can touch their office.Thank you!
