The apartments are nice and so is the neighborhood but they are roach infested. I posted a picture below of your new neighbor if you decide to accept a unit here. I deliver to one of these buildings and there are even roaches in the hallway! There were dead roaches in the corners, live roaches crawling up the walls and apt. doors! I discontinued my contract after this week because when my client opened the hallway door (wearing a respirator and coughing) there were active roach bombs spraying out chemicals all over the steps. This was my last straw! No company or apartment staff should set off bug bombs in a common area in the middle of the day! I can only imagine how many are in the apartments. I guess if you like roaches and don’t have asthma this is the perfect place for you.

Hello! I have called the residence number listed about four or five times. I have left four messages. I also filled out the online application to require and request a callback for a tour as well as availability of a two bedroom. No one has reached out to me. The only thing I have received our two automated generated email stating that my email was received and that someone will be getting back to me and they have yet to do so. Today will be the sixth time that I have called and left a voicemail so let’s see what happens moving forward

My 86 year-old grandmother lives at Oakwood Shores. Its a beautiful property, in a wonderful location, the amenities are amazing. Oakwood Shores is everything that you want in a property in a neighborhood that is lively but safe. A rarity on the South Side of Chicago.

Very nice place. My first time there. Great place for small gatherings inside and outdoors, it has 3 grills and lots of outdoor seating.

Sooo this has been the worst experience I have ever dealt with when renting an apartment. Dont get me wrong the apartments and amenities are nice, however the staff and customer is HORRIBLE!! Long story short I applied in May 2021 was told there was a 6 month waitlist by Brenda(leasing manager) . She told me to come in fill out application and pay $55 for application fee which I did. June comes I called to check status, July come she finally assigned me to a unit( didnt see it) July comes she tell me she waiting for all my information to be cleared, background etc. August 2,2021 I called again find out she no longer work there so my paperwork work been on her desk almost a week now.. 3 months I been going thru this process and still no apartment ..... now Im calling still no a move in date , dont call back when they supposed tooo... ALL BAD!!!

They took my money, back in March of 2021 I gave them $110 for an application. I called back Me Ross was no longer there and they had no idea where my money and application was. I’m horrified that they are allowed to do that. I’m contacting Danny Davis office.

The service here is horrible they are very unprofessional and disrespectful. They do no response to work orders. I do not recommend anyone live here. If I could give them less then 1 star I would. It took them 3 months to fix my bathroom sink. When you call they will leave you on hold for and hour. The Receptionist is rude with a very poor vocabulary.

They dont answer the phone so you can find out about their apartment so to me thats a red flag🤔🤔🤔. So please dont move to a place like that I call them a long time again the staff was very unprofessional I never got a call back about the apartment and that was 2019. They never answer their phones very Ignorant

This is a very modern community center. Bright and modern platform. Good place for hosting events.

If I can give this place 0 stars I would. No privacy whatsoever!! Maintenance sucks bad! The lights keep going out & my heat doesnt work!! I called the city. Theres kids here with a broken furnace!! They so quick to give a notice but cant fix emergency problems!!!

I must say I am very displeased with the lack of communication they have. A couple months ago I was told that my name reached the top of the waitlist. I was told to come in for a screening of which everything cleared such as background drug test etc. approximately one month later I reached out and was told that it could take up to 12 weeks for everything to go through. 2 days later it was a Thursday I received a phone call stating and I quote will you be ready to move in tomorrow which was a Friday or the following Monday. Now mind you I haven’t even seen the unit or no idea of how much the rent would be. my response to the lady was I would be ready October if anything I need time and also I had just payed rent at my current residence. However the lady stated she would call me the following Tuesday however no one returned my call. I reached out to them and Im still and waiting as we speak.

I wouldn’t recommend oakwood shores to anyone looking to move do to the fact they do a lot of discriminating especially to people that has kids. They’ll move you out of your apartment that you’re comfortable in to please the next person because you have kids and the person on the first floor doesn’t want your kids to play. Your kids will never be able to play in their home where you pay rent. They’ll never call a mediation for you and the neighbors to meet to see what the problem is. They hold apartment for they friends to move in. They tell your personal business which no one in the apartment complex doesn’t suppose to know.If someone is fearing for their life then they should move that person instead of moving the person whose not doing anything and barely be home which my neighbors say they barely see’s me. But you got this guy that stays underneath me talking about he fear for his life. If he’s fearing for his life then he should’ve been moved.. CORRECT ME IF I’m wrong. The corporate office will know about this tomorrow morning November 20th 2019. I will be calling to Boston to the people who owns oakwood shores.

As in they drive around..Overall, there are positive aspects to share, but when you have real issues its very frustrating.Maintenance is a real issue. Leasing.. Be grateful if you ever get a copy of your lease..I dont know why its that bad.. But it really is. No fluff. They really really really are that difficult to deal with.IF something runs smoothly, just be aware that is likely a SUBCONTRACTOR, theyve hired which is why it went REALLY well.Happy Apartment Hunting!

They are thee worst! I would never recommend them to anyone! They nickel and dime their tenants, dont fix anything in a timely manner, and are very unprofessional. If I could give a negative star I would.

Im looking for a new apartment for me and my daughter I wonder is this place is affordable.

So, Ive moved in and been in my unit for about 6 weeks now. And I love it! Well,except when they turn the air conditioning off without notice. Being able to control my air conditioning year round was a must have on my list when looking for a unit. I was told I could control my air and heat, and its true, except its not year round. Ive gotten over that slight untruth, the building has been quite,clean 90% of the time, and secure. I did see a few review about the walls being too thin and being able to hear your neighbors. This is somewhat true, while in my bedroom, I can hear my neighbors entire conversation, I hear her coughing at night, etc...but while in the living room and other areas of the unit I dont hear anything. Ive learned to tune my neighbor out and so far its been an enjoyable experience. Management has been very helpful with any needs I have and I appreicate Nicole the receptionist, and Ms. Champion very much. I believe in writing honest reviews, and will update this one in another 6 months.

Just moved in last week and I’m already ready to leave. I don’t know what these floors and walls are made of, but I can hear every single conversation the people above me are having and I can hear every last footstep they make. This has to be a joke. Every morning I wake up to my upstairs neighbors yelling or dropping something which sounds like a stampede in my first floor unit. The hallway in my building smells like old cat litter. I thought I’d fix that by putting a plug-in in the hallway the day after I moved in. Well, the next morning I woke up and someone had stolen it. A $8 plug-in, stolen. Who does that?! I don’t know what type of tacky people live in this building but I do not see myself finishing out my lease. I’d started to unpack my things but I think I need to put a halt on those plans.I’m still waiting for the leasing agent to email me back about my second set of keys. I was supposed to get them the day I moved in but another agent told me she could only find one set. This was after she complained that she didn’t even want to have me sign my lease because part of the documents were missing. I truly don’t want to pay this expensive market rent rate when I feel like I have NO privacy and get woken up to jumanji’s footsteps every morning.Please keep looking!

There customer service absolutely sucks they should be ashamed of themselves. If you can’t do your job properly you should just get another one.

The community could have a lot of potential, however horrible management and even worse communication from its team hampers that -- (and when communication is disseminated, its riddled with errors and extremely poor grammar: highly, highly unprofessional). Property is not kept up to par: filthy, disgusting hallway carpets; lack of security measures community wide; SLOW maintenance resolutions -- also, expect to not have access to hot water SEVERAL times a year; rampant loitering in parking lots and in the hallways of some of the properties; marijuana parties in staircases in some of the properties; etc. I could go on. If youre looking for a premium Bronzeville experience -- keep looking. This is definitely, unequivocally not it.The one star is actually zero stars, but zero is not an option.

Went there on an event. The place is very nice ti hold events,meetings etc.

Nice facilities, good people, food, music, nice location .

I had an event scheduled at this center and the security staff locked us out stating and I qoute I got plans we were forced to switch venues in and hour. Their contact ignored texts and calls, the police was called and false allegations were made. The center never reached out to apologize or find out what happened and resolved the issue. My advice DO NOT use this venue I have been told thus has happened to other people.

My experience with Oakwood Shore has been a nightmare, for three months I’ve put in six services request for my refrigerator, It’s not working,I’ve sent them pictures of my spoiled food, No one will come and fix this refrigerator I’ve called management, I’ve called emergency management ,I’ve called maintenance, I’ve been in the office, and no one will fix this Refrigerator, Now it’s Thanksgiving and I don’t have a refrigerator to put my food in. I am completely fed up, I’m going to court.
