Absolutely loved my experience with Taylor! She is such a fun person. They helped me donate the hair and i felt comfortable going for a big chop! Everything i wanted!

Have gotten my hair cut by Taylor 3 times now. As a guy thats been trying to let his hair grow while not letting it become a mess, I highly recommend her. She took everything I said and made it happen with seemingly simpleness that can only come from a lot of experience.Id been going to barbershops, even ones that charged $40-50, and they all messed up my hair. Setting me back months. Taylor knows what you want and what will look good

Felt so uncomfortable walking in without an appt. Felt like I was an inconvenience. They were not sure how to use the system to see if any openings and I just offered to set up appointment online but I wont be doing that.

My pay day is today, and Im in desperate need of new clothes and shoes. When I visited this store, I discovered that the products are of high quality.When they gave coupons if you bought a large quantity of their products, I saved a lot of money. Highly recommended to anyone!

I started to going to Chicago Ave Salon three months ago, having Taylor as my stylist. I randomly chose her from the salons website. So far Ive had her cut my hair once and color it 3 times (single color process and a few highlights). When I brought in pictures of cuts and colors I like, she asked questions to make sure she understood what I wanted. When I ask her opinion about what Im thinking about, shes honest and will explain the why behind her opinion. I have pretty high standards for any service provider I use, and Im very loyal when I find someone good. I like Taylor because shes very nice and easy going while being very professional; I highly recommend her!

I love Chicago Avenue Salon! Cheryl always takes great care of me...I love my cut and color! She is amazing at what she does! Her staff is great and the vibe is fun and relaxing. They also carry great products! Always an all around great experience!

Took my 2.5 year old daughter for her first haircut and we had a great experience. They were super patient and friendly and my daughter hasn’t stopped talking about her haircut and can’t wait to go back.

Ive been going to Chicago Avenue Salon (specifically for haircuts from Megan) for more than 5 years, and theyre great - friendly, talented, professional. Even when I moved out of state for a while, Id schedule appointments for during my time back in Chicago.

Everyone was so friendly and Michelle did such a great job with my cut and color. I will definitely be returning.

In an area that appears to have too many hair salons, Chicago Ave Salon is one of the best: excellent service, clean/comfortable environment, and skilled stylists. One bonus: tasty cookies in the reception area. Not the cheapest but delivers value!

This shop is wonderful! The staff is super friendly! The space is very inviting from the moment you walk in the door. They offer you a cookie and check you in. I had my hair bleach, dyed, washed, cut and styled. My stylist Stephony did an amazing job transforming my multi color black, pink (and later discovered blue hair) into a stunning multi layered purple! This was a lovely experience and I look forward to seeing them all again in the future!!!! 10/10

Ummm... I need more stars 5 is definitely not enough! I moved from another state and of course bringing in some quarantine hair looking to get my hair back to life in the looks to find a new Salon. I don’t even know where to start !! The receptionist Gianna literally offered and walked outside with me to help pay for parking since I was unfamiliar with the system to pay! Supper sweet and definitely helpful! She made sure Covid precautions are being met which made me feel comfortable! THEN! ...Michelle who colored my hair has made this experience amazing! It’s so nice to talk to someone who listens and relates with feedback! She appeared very knowledgeable, she was fast but payed close attention to detail and insured I knew exactly what she was doing or what her plans were! I told her what I wanted but also gave her the ball and told her to take over and fix me up and she did exactly just that and more ! Chicago Avenue Salon will be seeing more of me in this beautiful , chill vibe of a salon ! Thank you all bunches !!!!! This is a kickass spot!

Megan was amazing with my 4 year old. I had both my toddlers with me and the ladies at the salon were so accommodating and sweet. The salon also donates for locks or love. Great atmosphere and artwork as well!

Love this place and Aaron is a miracle worker. Best color I have ever gotten hands down, and so much attention to detail. I went in a brassy mess and came out a cool blonde. Amazing all around!!!

Everyone who works here loves what they do. They are also engaged if you want to talk. The place is nice and clean. You are given either a glass of wine or water so thats nice while you wait. If after you are done you want to purchase any of the products available they can provide it but I like that they dont force it on you. Great place.

Phenomenal experience as Chicago opens for phase 4 in covid recovery. After going three months slowly developing a mullet, I knew a hair cut was not a matter of if, but when. After doing some investigation, I reached out to the salon to ask their covid policy. They advised they require guests to wear a mask and to call when outside to get in. Great start I thought, having zero idea how haircuts work post-pandemic. Worst case, I could walk by see how it looks and cancel if I felt uncomfortable. However, Chicago Ave Salon clearly knows Lori isnt playing around, and their prevention policy was on point. You not only call to get in, but you are immediately asked to fill out a questionnaire AND get your temperature taken. Awesome. You get your hands sprayed with some disinfectant before you are seated. Every is wearing a mask (staff and guests) and everyone is cool with it. Is it tricky to cut hair with a mask on? Probably, but the quality of my hair cut was phenomenal. Megan (who is just awesome) turned this soon to be sasquatch into an actual human with arguably the best hair cut I have ever had. In many ways, sad I didnt find them pre-covid, but can 100% be assured I will be back again as long as social distancing and masks are part of our collective lexicon.

Cant say enough good things about Chicago Ave Salon!! My two kids (10, 7) and I went for the first time last week and had fantastic haircuts and service. Jaleesa cut both kids hair and was simply the sweetest with them! Kids look GREAT! Megan was my stylist and was extremely knowledgeable, offered up some great suggestions, while still making sure I was in my comfort zone! We will happily be going back!

Aarons the best. My wife and I both keep coming even though we live nowhere near West Town. He even fixed my Wifes color job when it was slightly different than what she was looking for even though he did a perfect job. Cant recommend enough.

TERRIBLE. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. Took my little brother here to cut his hair and they cut it so poorly I had to take him to another salon to get his hair fixed! I brought my brother here to get a mens undercut hair cut and his hair stylist was Stephanie. I stepped out and once his haircut was finished I met up with my brother again and was horrified by what they left him with. In that entire hour Stephanie was only able to shave a 3x5 piece on the side of his head and did it very poorly. The shave was so poor there were hairs sticking up on the side of his head. I asked my little brother what she told him because the haircut he wanted required her to shave both sides of his head and only one small piece was shaved. He said that Stephanie said she couldnt cut his hair because his natural part didnt allow her to....Stephanie could not take responsibility for not knowing how to cut my brothers hair and was even blaming him for it. We took him to a near by salon right after the haircut to fix his hair and the hairstylist from the salon even laughed at his hair and was in awe at what Chicago avenue salon left my brother with. Chicago avenue salon still charged my mom 35 dollars for his haircut. Im not sure how this place has 4.9 stars because I also heard the lady before my brother (hairstylist Stephanie again) saying she had to return the next day because she wasnt given the haircut she wanted. I felt terrible because my little brother was excited to cut his hair and he looked very dissapointed with what Stephanie left him with.

Cool salon with very talented and friendly staff. Scheduling is not difficult, they offer cookies and drinks while you wait. Aaron is great.
