I had the best-ever manicure from Base! Karla is a manicure genius, and Im still trying to figure out how the manicures last so long! My first manicure was in July, and it lasted through early September. The only thing that looked off was simply that my nails grew: the actual polish & shine was flawless. This manicure lasted through a two week international trip too. I was blown away and have been again beyond satisfied with my October manicure too. Ill now always schedule a manicure with my cuts. No more walk-in nail salons!

Absolutely love this place!!! I always leave feeling so confident and my hair has never looked better!! I go to Alexis for coloring, Brazilian blowouts and extensions. She always reaches out after each appointment to make sure I am happy and satisfied. They all work together really well and care about their clients experience. Plus, they have curly hair extensions that match my natural curls!! Definitely will always be a client:)

Base is the BEST! Have been going to Base Salon since they opened in 2017 and have always had the best experience. Krysta, who is also the owner, is professional, fun and very talented. I always leave the salon feeling great about my hair and always look forward to coming back. The salon is so clean, the environment is fun & they always play the best music. Heres one thing you dont want to hear from your stylist 2 minutes into the haircut: Oops, I didnt understand that you said you wanted only an inch shorter. Dont worry, it will grow back soon..I used to go to the salon with a stylist, Jessica, for a while. When Jessica left I was contacted by the company and was told: Dont worry. Youll get the same service. with our new stylist.So... I came back. 5 minutes into the apologies for mistakes began... When I complained - I was told that I should come back tomorrow and then a new stylist will correct things. When I called to come back again I was told that this will not happen and that I can book another regular appointment. Needless to say I did not (and will not) go there again.I am ok with mistakes (could happen to anyone). But good services need to have accountability, and corrective actions. None of those happened here.

Ive been going to Jess for a handful of months now and she never disappoints! For the guys out there looking for a great cut, I highly recommend giving Jess a try. Not only will she get your hair looking phenomenal, but shes fun to talk and hang with as well. All around fantastic haircut and Jess rocks. 5 Stars.

Every time I come to Base I always have a great experience! They are always so accommodating and helpful when it comes to my scheduling and hair needs. I see Danielle and does she work wonders. I can’t believe how good my hair looks after she styles it. She knows exactly what color I’m looking for and makes sure that it works with my skin tone, etc. I’ve also been getting extensions with Danielle and you can’t even tell I have any in she does such a good job. I first began going to Base when salons were allowed to reopen last summer. After months of being at home, I received a much needed confidence boost when I got a haircut by Jessica and my eyebrows done by Adriana. Since then, Jessica has helped me healthily achieve the perfect bronde and I question why I ever let anyone besides Adriana do my brows before. These ladies are so friendly, talented, knowledgeable and very diligent when it comes to following covid regulations. I have sent several referrals to Base and will continue to do so. 10/10 experience every visit.

Base Salon is my absolute FAV! Everyone is so friendly, it is a very warm and welcoming environment. I have never been to a salon where I had full confidence in my stylist until booking with Alexis at Base. My stylist, Alexis, excels at giving me my dream hair every single time I see her. After a long, damaging history with my hair, Alexis has helped me every step of the way in my hair recovery, and always achieves my hair goals (and knocks it out of the park every single time!). Saying I have become obsessed with my hair after handing the reigns to Alexis would be an understatement! She has taught me so much about my hair, like the products I need to be using, how to maintain health and color as a blonde, and how to create the looks we create in the salon at my own home. Extremely talented colorist and stylist who always goes above and beyond!

I decided to post this because the reason I went to this salon was for the reviews. So many five stars, I figured it was foul-proof for myself, considering I hadn’t been to a salon in 10 years and was looking for a quality place in the loop. I believe the reviews are so glowing because they push it on you from the moment you sit down. If you review, it’s a discount on the products in the store and a chance to win something, I believe. How could I post a review before they even touch my hair...I wanted a long bob and a bronde balayage. My brunette hair hasn’t been colored in many years, it was virtually virgin again (meaning I was back to my natural color). I also know it can be lifted much lighter than my color, because I was blonde many years ago. I made it clear that I did not want anything close to caramel, I wanted the color to be much ashier. We landed on the word “sandy” after I showed her reference pictures and I was excited.The cut was nice. I had no complaints. The color... is incredibly brassy. I wish I would have said something but my stylist was so incredibly lovely and I didn’t know what to say; which is definitely my fault.The unfortunate part was I was quoted $315, I paid $505 before tip. I was in a rush out and just paid it knowing I would never come back. The employees seem incredibly sweet and kindhearted. The color was just not what we discussed, the asks for reviews, and the price change at the very end were all red flags for me. I will not return.

Had an AMAZING experience with Alexis. Ive been to several different stylists in Chicago for my blonde hair, leaving very underwhelmed each time. Alexis truly listened to what I was looking for and she DELIVERED. I had goosebumps when she was done blowdrying my hair. It looked healthy and the color was perfect. Highly recommend!

Will definitely be using her and the salon for all my spa needs.The spa and all the employees were all welcoming and friendly from the phone and inside the salon. Kylee Explained of the facial, post op care and helped keep the environment relaxed and soothing. The salon it self is clean and takes the correct protocols for covid as well.

Adriana is the best waxer - Ive been seeing her for 3 years and shes always provided the most quality experience and in record time. Painless Brazilians which I didnt know was possible and eye brow sculpting that is seriously an art. Highly recommend!!

No online review can quite capture how thrilled I am to have found Base Salon. I had the BEST EXPERIENCE with Krysta. The cut/style is exactly what Ive been wanting for years and yet my other stylist - who cut my hair for the better part of 8 years - could never get it quite right. I instantly felt at ease with Krysta and generally the look & feel of Base. I had the best washing/deep conditioning/head massage, felt in expert hands the entire time, and really appreciated how knowledgable she was about the various products she used - even writing down the recommendations! Such a simple detail but one that Ive never experienced before. The experience & cut really did bring me to tears; I was that happy. It had been a big day for me, and this indulgence was more than what I needed. I left for vacation the day after the cut and felt like a million bucks the whole trip. Thank you, Krysta! Cant wait to come back for more :)

I went to Base salon about a month ago for a regular touch up with Jennifer B the “colorist” I had gone to her a couple times before (for silver hair, other times it would turn out OK but the color was never uniform) but this time she decided to try an experiment on my hair (which I had no idea she was doing) I came in (a little late which I apologized for) for my usual toner and she ended up giving me PURPLE HAIR IN FIFTEEN MINUTES! (she could have told me she didn’t have time for me and I would have happily rescheduled but she decided to rush) I absolutely hated it, I understand I came a little late but she did everything in 15 minutes NO PROFESSIONALISM, she apologized, not for giving me purple hair or for experimenting on my hair but she apologized because I didn’t like the outcome! I was already pissed and was ready to pay and leave and never come back, but she asked if I could stay so she could fix it as soon as she finish on her other client and I reluctantly agreed, she finally finished and sat me down and tried to fix her mistake, when she finished she was trying to convince me that the outcome of her fixing her mistake was great by telling me “it looks so nice and this is definitely in the silver family” when I finally got a good look at it I hated it! It was still purple, the sides of my hair were orange it was patchy as heck and worst of all she asked if I liked it! Of course I said no, paid, and I immediately went home to wash my hair but not before taking a picture of what I left with. I will never go back to this Salon ever again Jennifer is one of the most unqualified colorist, and to think I went in there for all the positive reviews! In my opinion I think that they are fake. I will insert a picture of what I wanted which was silver hair and what I left with which as a complete mess!

What a breath of fresh air! Base is beautiful. The decor and interior are done so tastefully. Other salons seem to try so hard to be trendy, that they lose the feeling of tranquility. Base manages to do both really well. Krysta is incredible. She is an artist when it comes to color and a perfectionist when it comes to cut. I never leave disappointed and finally have found a salon that has made me loyal. I am so happy to have a high end salon in the neighborhood!

Just recently got my eyebrows microbladed, and I absolutely love; best decision I’ve ever made! Besides the outcome of my service, Juanie was beyond professional and kind. Listened to what I wanted and delivered. She took her time and was very precise with every step of the process. I highly recommend her and this service to anyone who is thinking about it!!!

I just had my hair done by Jen at Base Salon. I really loved this salon and really loved my stylist. The location is great for me (right in the west loop) and the salon is beautiful. Jen did a great job on my color and cut. Its hard to get the perfect buttery blonde tone I love and she nailed it. I will definitely be going back.
