I walked in for my 10am appointment. Didn’t check me in for 10 min. Then took me back only to be leapfrogged by someone who came in after me. By 10:30 I’m still waiting with no one in sight of seeing me. I talked with the manager who rudely told me they’d be with me when they get to me!!! What?? What’s the point of making appointments if your staff isn’t going to abide by them or even me considerate of my time! And don’t get me started on the mask mandate in chesterfield!!

I was on hold on the phone with Americas Best for 15 minutes waiting to hear if my glasses had arrived. I had to hang up and call again, only to ask the same person the same question. Turns out that my glasses were waiting there and I never received a call to notify me. This is the second time I have not been called about my glasses arriving. I don’t understand. I paid for my glasses weeks ago. If I have to depend on horrendous customer service, maybe I shouldn’t have to pay for them until I’m called to be notified that they have arrived. Seriously, I have been a customer for years and this will be the last time I deal with this location.

I saw the price of two pairs including the exam for 69 dollars. I wondered what the catch was. I figured the Dr won’t be great and the quality wouldn’t. Well, it was just the opposite. The Dr was so very detail oriented. I did pay 20 more dollars to have more detailed testing. Just for this exam alone is less then other places and here you get two pairs of the entry level glasses. They were not high pressure. They were so helpful. I will use them again and again. They couldn’t of been nicer. My only advise it to call with an appointment as they got very very busy. A great place with a great selection of frames. Great staff with great pricing. Five star all the way!

Celeste H. was great to work with! She gave me tips on getting my contacts in & she was a great cheerleader. Celeste not only helped me pick out a great pair of glasses, but she was patient while I chose the final pair. While this location was busy & Celeste was called away several times, she was upbeat & pleasant which allowed me the patience needed to complete the lengthy check out. Dr. Voss was also very patient & kind. I would highly recommend this location.

Heather was absolutely amazing! She took the time to make sure I was using all the allowances of visual insurance, as well as being extremely friendly! I will most certainly be coming back, Dr. Tang is the best.

Horrible. Saw doc for contacts on April 4th, 2021. First time customer. Called three weeks later: They never ordered my trial pair, so they told me they would order them. Called three weeks later: “Oops, they never got ordered. We’ll order them now”. Called three weeks later: “So sorry, they never got ordered. I will definitely order them this time.” On June 25th, I get a call that they’re in. They tell me I can pick them up next week because that’s when the doc is available. This place is a joke of a business. I gave up at this point. I’ll stick to glasses until contact lens regulation changes or online takes away the brick and mortar monopoly. I’ll be contacting BBB. Ridiculous. I’ll stick to glasses for now. I can order glasses online and have them arrive at my door in less than a week.

The place was an unorganized mess, the staff was rude and they weren’t taking people in the order of their appointment times. During the 45 minutes that I sat there, the optometrist spent 8 minutes with a patient. There were several patients waiting to be seen and there is no reason for the long wait times, other than the fact that both the tech and the Dr had zero interest in seeing patients or following the schedule. I ended up walking out without being seen…and my eyes are probably better off. I would never trust these people with my vision care.

My son and I both had an eye exam today the eye exam went very well the dr. was great it wasn’t until we went out to pick out our frames that we experienced a very rude woman by the name of Catherine who worked there. The first thing she did was hand us a plastic container and instead of nicely explaining to us their procedure for handling frames now due to Covid she says very bluntly your going to use this rather you like it or not which wasn’t called for. all while repeatedly saying to my son that he need to pull his mask up over his nose. Mind you not once did he pull his mask down. I literally had to leave the store to keep from going off on her. While I was outside my husband and son said while she was explaining them the insurance coverage she was very rude and disrespectful and there was no call for it. I nor my husband or son was rude to her at an time. I was going to schedule an appointment in the future but due to this employee I won’t be going back.

The initial phone call was so off putting I’mNot sure if I’ll try another location. Customer service is really not that hard. I had checked the website for appointment and they were scheduling pretty far out, so I decided to call the store. It was clear Curtis was not interested in helping me as he pushed me repeatedly to the website after I explained I was looking to see if they had anything sooner. He told me I’d be waiting a while. Time and demeanor was really not friendly.

Long story short, if weeks in you still don’t have glasses don’t be surprised. Pretty sure the entire team at the Americas Best in Chesterfield give zero cares about the customer or the customer experience. We have give. Our business a total of one time, and that was too many. We will NEVER be returning to this horrible business to get glasses.

Walked in with not 1 but 2 bandana on over my mouth and nose but was told I was not allowed in I had to wear a surgical mask. I was asked to walk outside to change the mask. If I didnt need glasses because mine broke I would have walked out. I will never come back to Americas Best Ever I walked out

I was 7 minutes late to my appointment. Yup, I was late... The receptionist - Liz- was very rude. I was obviously an inconvenience to her. I walked in with my mask in hand getting ready to put it on and she kept saying and indicating to put it on. I was trying to. I realize that masks are an inconvenience for everyone, but when someone tells you they cannot hear, make the effort to communicate. I am hard of hearing, I read lips, she was not speaking clearly and there was a lot of noise in the background. She said something about paperwork, I have no idea what she was talking about. After walking away and walking around the office she came back to say I was 10 minutes late and did not call - I didnt call, I was on the phone with another call. I also was NOT 10 minutes late, I was 7 minutes late. I was just 10 minutes late when I got back to my car. I can find nothing that says if you are late they will not see you. I had to reschedule to this appointment because the Dr had an emergency. They said they tried to call, I had no missed calls and no messages. I was more than half way to the office and it was only when I called and was more than halfway there that they said they had to reschedule. I will NOT be returning to the Clarkson Rd location that I have been going to for nearly 10 years. Everyone is under a lot of stress, make the effort to be kind.

The original visit went great the I was told I had to schedule a follow up if I also wanted contacts and to not buy my glasses before contacts for insurance reasons. We went ahead and built the order and was told I would be in and out in 10 minutes for my follow up.The day of the follow up I was in and out to see the dr in 10 minutes. Then it took another 5 to check out. Then when i went to check out the were unaware of my previous built eyeglasses but somehow still had records of the 2 pairs I was looking at.Then another 20 minutes went by while she was messing with the computer before she even told me there was no order in the system. 45 minutes into my 10 minute follow up to be sure my contacts fit was true. Everything else was them just saying what they wanted me to her so they could get to the next customer.

I have used the Chesterfield location before with no issues. This time I show up for my appt on a Thursday and I was never put on the books. First mistake I called instead of making my appt on line and the girl making my appt kept apologizing for placing me on hold so many times because they were so busy. Today I go and pick up my eyeglasses and they put the wrong prescription in them. With only a sorry, which means something but not enough. Now I will have to wait another 2 weeks to get my glasses probably longer because of Xmas holiday. I dont know what has happened to this location or is it all their locations. I guess next year Ill try elsewhere.

More like Americas worst. I spent a full 2 hours for a simple eye exam. I have insurance that gives me an exam for a $10 copay. Then I get a bill in the mail saying I owe them another $40. They charge extra if you are getting an eye exam for the purpose of getting contacts... Im guessing for the trial lenses they give you. I can buy 6 months supply of contacts for $40. Go next door to Clarkson eye care. The only reason I walked into Americas best is because its because I thought thats where I went last time. Clarkson is much better. Dont waste your time here.

Need to have system of take a number. My first trip to do a simple return the place was so busy. I waited about 10 min decided to come back during the week. On my second return I was also told to take a seat (need manager for return) several people came in after me, they took a seat, but began being helped before me. I stepped up to desk and she realized the manager had taken another person who came in after me. Never had issue with appts, just front of store.

All I wanted was to get reflective lenses in my current prescription so that I could keep my current frames. They said they wouldnt do it without doing an eye exam (which is fine). So I do that, and they give me glasses that are harder to see out of, and make me instantly nauseous. I tell them the issue, and they say that theyll fix it (which is good).I come back when I get the call saying that theyre done, and Im given glasses that dont have reflective lenses, and still have the worse prescription. They say they can give me a refund on the reflective lenses, or if I want, just a refund on the glasses, and theyll put the old lenses back in. So I tell them I want them old lenses, to which they wouldnt do without a doctors note. The situation was just getting too complicated for just wanting my money back, so I took the refund on the reflective lenses and left.Overall, just a bad experience for just wanting reflective lenses. I will not go back there.

This is my third time calling in two weeks. The first time, I was put on hold for over 20 minutes, and asked if I could leave a message for them to call me back. I gave them my information and said I needed to know if my contacts were in stock. They never called me back. The second time I called, I waited on hold after the phone rang about 20 times, and was disconnected. Ive now been waiting for almost 10 minutes on hold, again. I leave for a trip in a week and I need to be able to see. If I go in and tell them I need to pick up contacts without calling, they get huffy and say you shouldve called WELL GUESS WHAT. Ive called 3 times. THREE.**EDIT** The woman working the desk was the one I spoke with on the phone the final time, and she was very nice. She had already gotten my contacts for me so they were at the desk with my name taped to them when I came in, which I appreciated. They are still obviously understaffed, as the 3 people working were helping people and the phone kept ringing. I think if the staffing issue was addressed at this location, things would improve immensely there.

This place is awesome everyone was amazingly polite and very knowledgeable and I even brought the wrong pairs and was supposed to get something else they handled the issue for me the same day and were so polite about the whole thing and I was the one who messed up. I highly recommend this place to anyone they really stick by what they say and make you fee like family. This goes out to every single person on the staff of 11/38/17 thank you guys you really helped me out.

This place was amazing to say the least! From the moment I walked in I was treated like family till I left! And for a new patient it was so fast! With the eye exam and pick frames I was in and out in about 30 mins - 45 mins! Loved this place and would recommend to anyone needing glasses! Also very nice on the wallet as well! 😉😉

I had a very positive experience here! The eye exam was quick and painless and everyone I talked to from the front desk to the woman who did the eye measurements to the doctor was very kind and helpful. I almost left as an angry customer because of a miscommunication between myself and a new employee about pricing. However, the problem was fixed immediately, and the staff member Celeste who fixed it made me feel like my business was important. I am looking forward to getting my new contacts. Ive had many eye exams over the last 20 years, and will definitely be returning to this location for my next exam. Thank you for putting your customers first!

I’m not sure where to even begin. Wishing there was an option for a zero...the wait time was long even with an appointment- had to listen to the employees complain about another employee calling off work that day- there was misinformation given about the type of contacts available, the prices were inflated since my last visit, the “club” prices were misleading due to lack of explanation and the receptionist was walking around the store in dirty grey socks with no shoes. I have been to this store in Chesterfield before and it was an acceptable experience but the store has lost my trust and business.I would say I’d never go back but do not have a choice because I have to wait 2 weeks for them to order a pair of trial contacts...that I already paid for...before they will give me my script to go elsewhere. Very dissatisfied.

I have always had a positive experience at the Chesterfield location. Friendly and positive staff, whether busy or not. Was told 2 weeks before my glasses would arrive and already got the call they are there on the 5th business day, and before the holidays. Appointment went fairly well, on time and finished in a little over an hour for both of us. It wasnt until 10 days later when I went to pick up my glasses that I even knew there was a problem. I will agree with the other person who said the staff is very unorganized.They ordered the wrong frames; Im now another 10 days into waiting and theyre still in the lab.Save your time, and your money; I guarantee unless your over the age of 50 you wont want their 2 for $70 frames and their contact lenses are at least $20 more than 1800-CONTACTS even with the Membership.** Update**I wanna say that Nancy and the District Manager did a wonderful job at promptly responding to and correcting the mistake.- I have updated the review to reflect this.

Came in to pick up my glasses the first time. I ordered two frames. One arrived damaged, and neither had the correct prescription. Came back a week later for a second eye exam and new scrip. The second doctor took her time in the exam, unlike the first (which lasted maybe 5 minutes). Came back again to pick up my glasses. Only one of them had arrived, and the vision was much much worse than before. Very disappointing outcome, but the staff were very courteous and gave me no hassle when I asked for a refund.

Thought I was buying 2 pairs of glasses. Came in to pick them up after spending $250. With insurance and my frames were tagged $69 & $79. So I was already thinking my rear 2 pairs of glasses for $79. This is so not true. But when I went in to get them they said I only ordered 1 pair! So I of course wanted my money back. My vision isn’t even that bad. The guy said I had the most expensive lenses. I just can’t believe it cost that much for 1 pair of glasses. So I asked for my prescription and then I left. I then went over to JCPenney‘s and got glasses. When I went to pick them up they were the wrong prescription. So now I’m fighting with America’s best to give me back my money to from my insurance company so I can get another I exam. The old prescription from my old eye Dr was still good. I only wanted glasses because my old ones were scratched. So I asked penny’s to compare the 2 prescriptions and they gave me some crazy prescription with a stigmatism. So then I had to go back in America’s best and try and get another I exam. And they didn’t want to deal anything with me. So they said they would refund my money to my insurance company. That I have yet to see. Do not use these people they’re awful !!!! Customer service is terrible and you don’t get 2 pairs of glasses for $79. Or whatever the commercial says. Fraud!

I went on on March 10, 2014 for routine eye exam and new glasses. I was told that my glasses would be back in approximately 2 weeks. 3 weeks later I hadnt heard from anyone so I called them. I was told my glasses werent in yet and they didnt know how long it would take. A week later I called again. I was told that 1 pair of my glasses were there but the other one wasnt. Again, they didnt know how long it would take for them to come. On April 23, 2014 I called AGAIN. My second pair of glasses were in but they had no idea why no one called to tell me they were in.Poor service. I wont go back again.

They always are super professional. I didnt get insurance the first time I got my glasses and eye exam the first time I went. Screws were broken in my glasses and they fixed them and fixed them for free. Always will visit this location everyone is friendly and helpful.

Waited over 2 hours for a basic eye exam and glasses. This was on a Monday morning. Staff was friendly but were very unorganized. Avoid.Just came back a week and half later with my wife (1/28). Another disaster, still waiting an hour later after getting here at 10:45. Plan at least 2 hours for each of your visits; 5 minutes of actually getting helped and 115 minutes of waiting.

They pretend to be your friend, but they just want your money. Every time i have dealt with them has been a hassle. I have never been so frustrated in my entire life. I get eye exams very frequently and every time i come back home from college i have to always get another one to get more contacts because they never have me under file (which is bs). And now they cant fill me into a appointment so i have to go back to my college house and miss thanksgiving so i can see. Thank you guys for letting me see my family. You see what i did there. The doctor that works here needs to find a job with the DMV since they like dealing with bs so much. Never buying contacts from them again. From one angry college student who has to miss thanksgiving because i cant get an appointment to get the same contacts i always get. Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart.

They had a bit of trouble pulling up my prescription on file from another location, but one of the opticions worked with me on looking for the perfect frame while they had someone at the front desk keep working on get the prescription to pull up in their system. I had multiple glasses that I saved in my favorites on their website & the opticion grabbed every frame that i wanted to try. She took note of what works on my previous frames & what doesnt & she found a pair that I didnt even have saved as a favorite! I ended up purchasing the 1st pair that she selected & nixing all my favorites! Once I selected my frames the prescription issue was fixed! So I technically didnt have to wait! I did have an appointment and I do take my time trying on glasses, but she worked with me the entire time & I didnt feel rushed! I walked in thinking I was going to buy one of my favorites & then i walked out excited about a completey different pair! I told her my buget & w my ins plan she said that i could try every frame in the store & be w/in my buget! She was right!

No one at the Chesterfield store could repair my new glasses, which they had broken trying to reinsert a new screw. My wife was told I would have to take them somewhere else to have them repaired!I returned to the Chesterfield store myself on 5-2 and was assisted by Asyntha Sandberg, who was visiting from the St. Peters store. Asyntha not only was very sympathetic but also was able to repair the glasses by using a self tapping screw. Her heads up thinking and great customer service not only fixed my glasses but also made me a repeat customer for sure.She deserves a raise for her above and beyond service.J. Williams

Rude, rude, rude. One of the girl there asked if I was having my exam for glasses or contacts, I told them I just need the exam so I can buy glasses elsewhere. She cut me off before I could finish and say I didnt ask you where youre getting glasses. Employees whispers and giggles in groups. Makes you feel very unwelcome. Overall, Im never going back.

I made an order of contact lenses on June 15, I was given a maximum of two weeks to be ready. I came to pick up on June 29, its not ready, I came back to pick up July 9, its NOT ready. And the attendants give no explanation. Payment was made in advance. They are irresponsible, do not value the customer.
