The only thing this clinic lacks is that they dont accept paper prescriptions -they only accept electronic prescriptions from select dental clinic or primary care clinics. πŸ™„ Otherwise theyll recommend you to visit Oceana or Norfolk to get your prescription.

This is by far the worst place for Tricare. Anyone who needs to get viewed by a doctor, look somewhere else. My wife set up an appointment 2 MONTHS out. She went today expecting to finally get mental health and other medical issues looked/checked on. When she arrived, she was told she didn’t have an appointment. She even had a confirmation call yesterday, and when showing proof of the call, she was told, β€œsomebody must’ve called you by mistake.” HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?? If they called by mistake, then why is her phone number in the system? This is disgusting and the only thing that’s going to be done is a reply to this post, that won’t go anywhere. Avoid this place at all costs. If I could give negative stars, they would be given.

I had an appointment a few months ago, got there about 10 min before my appointment and even then my primary didnt see me until an hour and a half after my appointment time. When I was discussing my concerns with my primary all she said was that everything I was telling her was the cause of my issues so I ended up having to go to the ER since she wouldnt run any labs or do anything for my problem. She did not address any of my concerns that I had about my health. When I call to leave a note it is over an hour wait until you are able to talk to someone and even then they are super rude. DO NOT recommend and am so upset that my primary is like this. If it was possible I would not even give them a one star because they dont even deserve that

My appointment I’ve had for a month was cancelled on less than a five hours notice. They can’t get me back in for another week, and were only offering morning times when I have to be at work. They do not care about your time or your job. If you cancel in less than 24 hours, you are penalized. However they can do it to you whenever they want. I went in awhile back with a few problems. They told me they would only address one. I asked for a refill on my emergency inhaler, as I’ve had asthma my entire life. I brought my inhaler in. I was asked if I had shortness of breath at the moment, which I did not because I do not live in a constant asthma attack. I did not get a refill on my emergency inhaler. I can’t wait to move. This place is horrid.

I had a problem last month, called scheduling at tricare prime and was told there were no appointments available with my pcm for almost 3 weeks. Always friendly and timely service. I feel like they are happy to see me every time I walk in the door. Like every healthcare facility, they are overworked and understaffed, but providers have always worked to get me in ASAP. I always remember to have a little grace when they’re running behind, as I know it has nothing to do with their time management skills. They’re running behind because they are trying to FULLY care for each patient in the best way they can. No one wants to feel rushed by their provider.

There are approximately 85-90,000 military personnel plus their family members, so bump that number up to about 100,000. So you expect a pharmacy to run super fast and not have a wait time? The pharmacy personnel are doing the best they can do. Plus why complain? You can go and pay for medicine out in town.Keep up the great work ladies and gentlemen. You never know what people are going through and a little act of kindness everyday could bring a lot more happiness into this world and he should definitely learn that. I smiled at the counter and I was picking up a refill my doctor called in and I accidentally chose the wrong button on the kiosk. Instead of him nicely explaining it to me he was extremely rude. I was shaking so bad when I got done talking to him because I work in customer service and never EVER would I treat a person like that. And as a reference, one time before I accidentally clicked the wrong button and the lady at the pharmacy said it was ok and just went through with it with no problem. I’ve gone to this clinic and the old location and both of them have been just awful. Every experience I have ever had has been terrible. I understand short staffing and long lines, but the attitude problem between employees is absolutely ridiculous. I had a miscarriage last summer and was treated with ZERO sympathy or respect. I was crying on the table and the doc said β€œwell, dodged a bullet on that one, huh?” So just because I’m young I should be relieved? What if I had been actively trying to have a child? More recently I’ve had some health issues and it’s the same thing, no sympathy, disbelief at continuing symptoms, and attitude problems when prescriptions aren’t working. The last time I was there I waited two hours to be seen and the doc was only in my room long enough to tell me she was giving me antibiotics so I could leave even though my cultures weren’t back yet. Wound up having to have my prescription transferred to Walgreens due to long pharmacy wait, paid $18 for the meds, only to get a call three days later saying I needed to stop taking those IMMEDIATELY because my culture came back and that form of meds would only make the problem worse. (Not to mention they told me they β€œforgot to call” to tell me as soon as they found out) Way to be thorough before sending me on my way, huh? All I saw was angry patients and rude employees who were more worried about online shopping and social media than getting people checked in.

See I told you, I said exactly the same thing about the pharmacy in NMC Portsmouth. Once the other Tricare clinic pharnacies implemented the same kind of system that the Naval Medical Centers has, the service has worsened. When I first came here, Tricare pharmacies or the NMCP pharmacy for that matter, were never this slow. You get a number and you are called and that is it. Then there is also a separated faster line for those who actually called in for a refill (in uniform or not in uniform). Now you literally are in line just for check in, too! Then you are in line again once you are checked in. Well, it becomes a case of too many cooks spoil the broth. If you get too many people involved in between just to fill up medications (not controlled is the amount of time each person does his/her job), then all these contributes of the slowing down of just one task (which in this case is the filling up of prescription). I get the idea they had behind the process which is good in an ideal and controlled setting. But then as I said, too many uncontrolled variables involved (like the time each person in the process actually does their job) and too many movements just to get on task of filling up a persons prescription done. What gives? The system before wasnt broke, you just needed to tweak it a little.

Also there was a computer error with my last refill date, not their error at all, but they took the time to assist me with the issue so that I could get my refills. I am a nurse and have worked at an MTF in family practice and trust me, the reviews here sound great compared to where I worked. There is far worse care out there, most of which ONLY happens during the hours of 0730-1600 so appreciate being able to not miss work to get the care that you and your family needs. With the exception of active duty members, you have the option to be covered under Tricare Standard and receive care at private physicians offices that will charge you for the same care you are receiving there, if you can find one to take Tricare or file you Tricare for you.
