Visited this weekend on a last minute Chattanooga trip and this place is great. You do have to buy tickets at set times so planning ahead is super important. So kid friendly! They thoroughly get to touch and play with everything! I think the dinosaur exhibit is the favorite, who doesn’t want to dig for dinosaur bones?! Spent hours here and I think the adults have as much fun as the kids do!

So much to do here! Every area had in depth activities. We loved the make it section the most, the kids can sew or woodwork, use a die cutter, and they even printed out objects to help us cut fabric. Could make an entire day out of your visit and even leave for lunch and come back for more. Parking was easy, we parked behind the museum for $7 for a 24 hour spot.

Loved this museum! I’ve been to many and this one was all about trying to get the kids to move around and explore…from the instruments to the different job aspects they can run around and learn from, I really enjoyed how overall it was very educational. I would love to come back and be able to read everything on the walls, the physics and water area were a hit! Also loved the costumes they can wear from the archeologists to the dinosaur costume!

I’ve been to the Creative Discovery Museum a few times and really enjoyed taking my children and grandchildren there. Was planning to go today but face masks are required for adults and children 5 and up. Won’t be back until they practice freedom of face. Kids are there putting their hands on everything. Face masks will make no difference.

2nd floor is a little sad though the bee exhibit was neat. Downstairs had a lot of cool rooms for kids. I give it a 4 because some of the water exhibit areas levers need grease and only an adult could turn the bucket and some of the parts were non functional. Also unlike other bigger childrens museums, this one had no storage lockers for non member families to put coats or bags. This would have been nice as the day we came it was raining. Also the dinning area prices were good but the straws the use were like paper and fell apart easy, kinda gross. I hope they switch vendors or invest in some washable straws...

Unorganized and messy, but kids wouldn’t mind it. They are low on supplies in certain areas like the drawing and arts areas, there’s no one attending those spots like in the past, no staff to be seen around, only one lady inside the art studio. It’s a fun museum with a lot of things to discover, clean bathrooms, nice little museum gift shop, and snack and drinks available.

We spent six days in Chattanooga on the aquarium/rock city/ruby falls/railway, sadly we didn’t get to this place until the last day. Wish we came here first to be truthful. I took my family here for my daughter’s birthday. She was turning 4. When I listen to the announcement welcoming another child and their birthday. I went to the front desk and asked the employee named Chandler if I could have my child’s birthday announcement made, and I was told, “No, but I can give her a sticker” this statement was made after the young lady already nodded her head that she could do it. I have 30 employees myself and understand that you can not control all employees actions but this is a design for children. What was the harm is saying we have another birthday girl on-site turning 4 years old.Good establishment with a lazy employee

This place is absolutely amazing. I remember going to this place when I was a 10yr old kid and it was amazing then and honestly, as an adult with kids aged 1-9yrs old.....🤯 mind blown. Honestly, this place is so cool that I probably would have had a blast even if I had gone alone as an adult😂. I love that you can climb through everything with your kids and that absolutely everything is hands on.My one and only complaint (if you can call it that) about this place is that the tickets are timed so they were only from 10-1pm... thats not nearly enough time to see & do everything you can or want to. My oldest was never bored for a minute and they have an area just for 4yr and under (with a special area for 18mo and under). I appreciate that they have family rooms with doors, chairs, and books set up throughout the museum for anyone who needs a private quiet area to settle their child (or nurse in private). This is also one of the childrens museums that offers discounted tickets for families on food stamps(with snap/ebt card...from any state) which is awesome.10/10 HIGHLY recommend. We will be returning soon!☆fyi DONT MISS THE PARKING KIOSK...you have to get out and pay for a ticket to park from an unmanned kiosk that is somehow both easy to miss and hard to miss once you get a $31 ticket and do see it.☆Bring snacks, drinks, etc...snack bar/cafe was closed (assuming due to covid), h2o fountains are all shut off (obviously) and the vending machine only takes $1 bills.

Awesome place to pique childrens curiosity and watch them learn science informally. From unearthing dinosaurs, seeing and learning about different insects, to learning how to change the direction of a stream. It will help give them a solid foundation in learning and enjoying learning

My family and I enjoyed our time at the discovery museum. It was both fun and educational with many different areas to serve all different learning levels. We will absolutely be back and will bring family and friends with us!!!... I was impressed to see a nursing station for mothers. However, the restroom near the gift shop definitely needs a diaper changing station….. I wish there was a way to monitor the type of “characters” that are allowed to roam around freely with the children there. One such character would include a man wearing very skimpy women’s attire. It was extremely inappropriate (for anyone to wear honestly) and led to an unnecessary conversation that I hoped to not have to have until my children were older. Having employees stationed on the different floors in “easy to hide” areas would be a good idea to help watch for children whose parents/guardians are not keeping a careful eye on them.

Second visit here. Loved it! Brought three out of four grandkids along. Youngest is only 10 months so we did not have her along this trip. We enjoyed it this time even more than the previous visit. Clean, spacious, wonderful and fun family environment. A lady at the Hilton next door gave us her free all day parking pass out of the blue. Saved us the parking fee of $7 for all day which is still a bargain. We were able to walk to all other things we needed to do for the day such as leave to go eat lunch. Staff was professional, friendly and courteous. Fellow visitors were all fun and sweet people. I enjoyed conversing with them. Met a lady and her family who were refugees from Hurricane Ida. Had an opportunity to visit with her and hug her and pray with her. I did not want to leave this day. I am a big kid at age 57 and got lost in there. Time went by like a flash. Love that they provide places for privacy for nursing mothers. The only bad things? 1. I did not want to leave and felt dragged away. 2. I got so caught up in making things downstairs and visiting with other families that I did not even make it to the upstairs today! Just means I need to go back.

A favorite for my kids from ages 3-7. We became members and love the perks that come with it. From the interactive water tables, to the music room, to the rotating exhibits upstairs, my kids always find something new to explore and learn about. Like I said, we are members and have been many, many times. The kids are never disappointed to hear we are going here. The best parking is across the street with access off broad street. Parking rates fluctuate depending on the day. You are also VERY close to some other big attractions in Chattanooga.

This museum is a family favorite. I almost never do memberships, but this one is worth it if you live anywhere near. I love to let my children stop and immerse themselves in whatever they are struck by on a particular visit. Most visits we only do two or three sections of the Musuem. This is because it is truly designed for children to discover. This visit my children and nephews spent over an hour in the workshop space creating and problem solving.Even though some parts are under construction at the moment, there is still so much for the children to do.I love the simplicity of the Musuem and how the focus is on exploration and discovery by the child rather than exhibits that need explanation by an adult.I have been to a few children museums, but this one genuinely offers the chance for child discovery and creation. I really love it. My only suggestion is to add adult seating to make waiting on the creative process more comfortable for parents.

Our autistic child could not get enough of all the science stuff and loved the water play area, especially the climbing structure where one could use a fan to fly kites. We left to go eat and returned to see even more of the museum, and there was still plenty to keep us busy. We loved the music area (2 in our group are professional musicians). The dinosaur/bug area sparks creativity, as does the rooftop area. We loved the Daniel Tiger traveling exhibit, but I was sad to see that the museum didnt get the Mister Rogers Neighborhood puppets that I know are part of this exhibit.
