My husband has been to this dr 3 or 4 times, and every time hes gone Dr. KESSLER was always in a rush to get in and get out of there and kept giving my husband laxatives and this has been going on for 2 years. My husband has been real sick everyday and cant go to the bathroom at all even with the laxatives and the last time he went, Dr. KESSLER kept interrupting him when he was trying to explain his symptoms and kept telling him he was going to give my husband more laxatives after my husband told him they werent working. My husband has now lost ALOT of weight and is nothing but bones due to taking so many laxatives AS THAT DOCTOR HAS TOLD HIM TO DO and it has now hurt him more than helped! My husband is scared everyday something is poisoning his body and cant get this doctor to listen to him. If you have severe stomach or GI problems and value a good doctor, this is NOT the doctor to see. DR. KESSLER needs to have his license oulled and be put under review for malpractice. We dont have the money or insurance for another GI doctor and this was my husbands only hope and this man has crushed it everytime we have been. Please reconsider going to Dr. KESSLER he is NOT a polite and caring doctor, it seems to me he only became a doctor for the money and not for helping people! DO NOT GO TO DR STEVEN KESSLER IF YOU WANT TO FIX YOUR STOMACH PROBLEMS!-ROBYN SHEFFEY-

I highly recommend Dr. Kessler. He is very attentive and diligent. He understands laymans terms and knows exactly whats going on and whats needed. I am high risk for a rare, aggressive, recurrent cancer and he has taken all measures to ensure he is on top of any issue no matter how minor. I have seen many Doctors in a short 2 years and Dr. Kessler is definitely at the top!

I have GERD, and Diabetic Gastroparesis and moved here from NY 2 years ago. In the past 6 months Ive been having more issues than normal so i requested to see a Gastroenterologist. Dr Kessler was thorough and helpful and we determined after both a colonoscopy and an upper gi that my medications were probably causing the problems and we made some changes that seem to be working so far. I feel comfortable to ask any questions and get a thorough easy to understand answer. I would absolutely recommend Dr Kessler to friends and family.I

Truly didnt want to give one star, but was the only way to post review. My daughter is slowly dieing and after 4 months of sever esphogitist and 5 endoscopies by Drs Kessler and Kahloon her condition has still not resolved. Waiting hours after each procedure have yet to speak directly except once with a doctor. When asking politely for a consult was accused of Dr shopping. The staff refused to return my calls and were very unprofessional. Being an elderly mother my daughter is all that I have left. Please read all reviews before you see any GI doctor in this Erlanger group. It seems many others have had the same experience.

Please take the time and Steven Kessler previous reviews before going to see him. I knew the reviews were bad but I chose to overlook them because I know people can leave these reviews without merit, or because of knee jerk reactions. Throughout my 4.5 month journey with Dr Kessler I saw glimpses of his poor reviews but I combatted it with charm persistence and charisma. I encountered poor staffing challenges and I personally shrugged it off to make it work. After being admitted to the hospital for the 4th time for my second emergency colonoscopy I realized Steven Kessler may be in over his head.Right after a colonoscopy while I was still sedated he communicated to me my colon was pretty beat up and we needed to change my medication and try something new. He communicated to me he would be up later to go over the results. This meeting never happened so I just figured he got busy and we would meet before I was released. I called his office the next day to find out if he was going to come by and I heard nothing back. I made this call again with the same results Nothing. After being released I called Steven Kesslers office to set a follow up appointment and it was set for the next day at 430. On the day of my appointment at 340 I received a call from Steven Kesslers office to tell me he told me not to come in. I communicated to the nurse or receptionist I was 5 minutes away and he wanted to change everything up per his own words. The young lady put me on hold and she was relaying to me his comments yo her about me. I was put back by this and I said are you for certain and reminded her I probably needed to see him after having a colonoscopy that came back much more severe spots than the previous colonoscopy four months earlier. I was calm during the conversation did not raise my voice all although I did let her know I was very very very concerned. When I ran into him in the hallway he was very surprised and add some sort of gift bag with him which I dont care and he told me that he just had to go home and couldnt see me I communicated to him my health is very important and I dont think youre helping me by leaving early your reviews are self-explanatory is what I communicated to him. Before calling him I had luckily gotten second opinion before talking to him and he is the only one that would not listen and he tried to keep me on the same medications that have not had any positive results very very scary be careful

The worse! Followed pre-surgery prep to the T just to be told afterwards by Kessler he could not see and we would have to schedule another colonoscopy ($$$$$). Called office manager to discuss my frustration and NEVER got a call back.Youd be better off going to a horse doctor and having him check your backside!

After a 3 night hospital stay, and an experience that left me with absolutely zero confidence in my care. I checked myself out. The pain got so bad again, that I called and asked to see the Doctor who had been assigned my care in the hospital, instead they set me up with his CNP. While I was there waiting in the exam room, Dr. Kessler walked in.I essentially wound up seeing him by accident. But within 2 minutes I finally felt like someone was listening to me. We scheduled an endo, and he found the issue. A simple prescription, and all of my problems have gone away.I would definitely recommend him to any of my friends and family. The main lesson I learned, go to the hospital for emergency care....not to get better. Get the situation under control, and then schedule an appointment with a specialist.

This doctor and his staff, especially Lauren, are the worst! I make it a point to read reviews, especially visiting a place for the first time. This was not the case for Dr. Kesslers office. I should have read the reviews before taking my daughter to him. Trust me, dont waste your time with this crew, unprofessional!

I am very unhappy with Dr. Kessler and his office staff, and his nurse. My son has a life threating blood disease and needed his medicine. It took over a year to get his medicine approved and never did. From the very first, I shouldve seen how unprofessional the staff was. A woman that worked there got my sons phone number from his records, and text him! Apparently she had an interest in him. He immediately called the office and told them. After that crazy experience, time after time the nurse couldnt seem to get him approved for his prescription. Apparently the nurse didnt know how to call the approval number and get it pre-approved before she turned in his prescription, so it was denied over and over. My insurance company was finally fed up with it and called the nurse and told her what she needed to do and it was urgent that she get it done. The very last time she actually called to get the approval, but didnt have everything turned in on time, for it is time sensitive and will get denied if its not done within a short amount of time. So it was denied again after over a year. The nurse never had time to talk to us and neither did Dr. Kessler. After time after time of denials, we have decided to go somewhere else that knows how to take care of their patients and knows the procedures in getting pre-approvals for medicines. So my advise to you is, if you or your loved one has a need for medicine that has to get a pre-approval. Go somewhere else. For my son and me, this was an on-going nightmare.
