I had my initial visit with Dr. Murphy today. He was thorough, efficient, and he was also professional. He asked specific questions of me and provided detailed answers to all questions I posed in a clear and concise manner. My assessment and potential treatment plan were laid out, and subsequent procedures were able to be scheduled prior to leaving the office. I look forward to continuing under Dr. Murphy’s care.

My experience here has been wonderful. Every single time I have called the ladies at the front desk make sure all my questions are answered and every need met. They have helped me figure out billing, lab reports, medications and they even tracked down my doctor to get a prescription sent to a different pharmacy. I really like Dr. Parsa, and every single staff member Ive talked to there. They have been kind and have even taken extra time to explain things to me.

Where do I start? I havent even seen a Doctor yet. My appointment was with Dr. Labaise at 8am this morning and when I went to got in the car at 7am to leave for my appointment I saw that I couldnt see two feet in front of me for the fog. i live in Jasper and when I got on the exit where the Tennessee river bridge is on the interstate I knew I would need to get off and wait for the fog to lift a bit, so I did and parked. I called the Doctors office they werent open yet, but a answering service picked up and I told them I might be late because of the fog AND THEY RELAYED THE MESSAGE. I walked in the office thirty six minutes late and they would not see me said I would need to reschedule. I asked if they got the message? Yes. I am sick and with COVID you take a chance every time one goes out even when one does what your supposed too, and I do. They rescheduled my appointment to tomorrow at 2;15 if I wasnt so sick Id tell them to stick it where the sun doesnt shine... The receptionist is the most uncaring person I have ever encountered she looks right through you as if you dont exist and are bothering her. Unbelievable THAT A 63 YEAR OLD WOMAN WOULD BE TREATED WITH SUCH INDIFFERENCE BY A THIRTY YEAR OLD ROBOT. Sorry my capital letters are on but I am not going back to correct...I am sick, and will try again tomorrow. I will let you know how this appointment goes.

This is one of the worst doctor’s offices I’ve ever been a patient of. The nursing and front desk staff are inconsiderate, unconcerned, and unhelpful. Every request that I’ve made is made to seem like a burden or something not included in his/her job description. I never receive call backs without having to follow up 2 to 3 times and I was told today that the office does not provide doctor-to doctor referrals because nurse Nancy “[doesn’t] know how to do it” and she would prefer I make the request in writing or in person. Ridiculous and unheard of. Until patient care and costumer service becomes the priority, I would not recommend Erlanger Gastroenterology as a first, or even second healthcare option.

Had an appointment for colonoscopy just no time when I have to arrive. They never called me 1 or 2 days before my colonoscopy. Finally I called a day before ,still no time set. Called that day several times. All they said we call you back. Never did. Now its days after my appointment still not heard from them. Going to find me someone else.

Nice doctor, not aggressive enough when it comes to a treatment plan, or care. No brochures, no pamphlet to hand out to patients for better understanding. Internet is not for everyone, something i think lots of doctors miss these days.

Have had been having severe liver problems (NASH) was refereed to Dr. Parsa by ER. I have to say I have never been more impressed with a doctor, ever. Took his time answering all my questions and was very honest with me upfront. I have never been treated with such patience by a doctor. I left with a eased mind and less afraid than when I walked in the door. Am having to have lots of labs and tests. Im glad hes checking all the boxes and taking his time with a treatment plan.

Dr. Phillips seems to be very knowledgeable, and my husband trusts him. However when Dr. Phillips orders tests, it can take a month or longer before his office to schedule them. Even after multiple calls a week to the office, they do not seem to care about scheduling these in a timely manner. Getting a diagnosis takes a very long time due to the slow process of these tests. Great doctor...poor support staff.

They kept putting off endoscope that my wife needed bad. The night before we was to get it done they called and cancel it. I told them how bad she was they said I could go to the ER which we already did that’s how we needed up there. She had cancer in her pancreas ended up at Emory and in two days she had relief. Never will recommend them.

I came in as a new patient today (September 4, 2018). I arrived 30 minutes early, as requested, to get the insurance and paperwork done. I was disappointed that another doctor recommended this group to me and made my appointment yet I was to see the Nurse Practitioner and not a doctor. When I asked the receptionist who my doctor was going to be she pointed to all their business cards on the counter and told me to just pick one. I was taken back promptly but yet another disappointment occurred when I was left for over an hour in the exam room. No one checked on me or took time to stick their head in and tell me if she was running late or behind with seeing others, just nothing!! So, I finally just got up and left. I told the receptionist I would call to reschedule and with that she said I would be next but I told her it had been way too long already. You know, I was so upset when I left I just dont know if I actually will go back at all and Im sure they wont miss me. Feeling insignificant wasnt what I expected but thats what I got.

Dr. Phillips is the worst GI Dr. in Chattanooga and I stress how unprofessional, unconcerned and uneducated he is. His staff has no sense of urgency and it took over 2 months to get my colonoscopy scheduled after numerous calls, a trip to the ER and internal bleeding so bad and in so much pain I was missing more work than not. After colonoscopy I found out while being discharged that he did not do as he said and did not have the surgeon who was on hand to stop the bleeding as I was promised, Dr Phillips chose not to do as he told me as he said he was in a hurry. The excuse was that he was in a hurry to be downtown. He did not speak to me after procedure and rushed through giving my family any information, after calling the office on Monday was told there werent really any notes and they assumed all was fine. I shared the extent of the bleeding and pain and was told they would call me back. After many continued calls and speaking with office manager they sent me to a surgeon but couldnt tell me why because from what the nurses were seeing the notes in charts said I was fine. Visited surgeon at 1pm and he scheduled me for immediate surgery the next moring at 8am. Had to have 6 procedures and was off work for months......Dr Phillips and his staff never showed professionalism or an inch of care for their patients. As a single mom of three his unethical and unprofessional behavior and lack of care or attention caused my children and I loads of medical bills along with days unable to work, all making for a very hard year. I am still dealing with issues of this being left untreated for so long. When I went to change GI Drs it was a huge stress and I was refused by most to change. I now see Dr Michael Goodman and he is absolutely amazing.

Had my first appt today and I have to say I am very happy with Dr Swaby. Very caring, punctual and relatable. Had a huge scare which is what sent me here and they got me in very quickly to help alleviate my fears. Scheduled for a colonoscopy in 2 days! That is phenomenal! I pray for a clean reading but I cant find anything negative to say about this Dr! She explained everything she was doing and took the time to really talk with me and put my mind at ease, as much as it can be with this scare!

Cancer Scare, and in remission. Need a colonoscopy to resolve PET/CT. Now Mid-May. Waited two weeks for an appointment, an appointment to make an appointment for the actual test. Took two hours to get in for 15 minute exam that the doctors at Erlanger VW had already done. So 2.5 hours later, earliest they can see me is mid-July.Revenue enhancement + any lack of urgency reflects a total disregard for patient care. Can not recommend in any way or fashion.

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. Trust me its a waste of money and you will not get any answers. Your better off trusting answers just from googling your symptoms over these so called doctors. Ive been to two appointments here and it was Dejavu! Same questions, same pain for me, same medicines, still no answers. Nothing done to move forward.

Friendly but a 4 month wait for a colonoscopy seems a bit much when I had a friend pass from colon cancer 4 years ago and another friend had stage 1, I have been waiting to be able to be tested.

The doctor already has his mind made up about what was going on with me before he even entered the room. Did not listen. Seemed in a hurry. I am not interested in ever going back there. I may not be a doctor, but Im not an idiot and these doctors need to learn how to listen to their patients.

My husband was referred to this office due to chronic nausea, daily vomiting and loss of appetite. The doctor ordered an endoscopy and HIDA scan. We were told at check out the office would schedule these procedures and call him to let us know when. We were seen on a Wednesday, so by the following Monday with no call I went to the office but no one was available to speak with me. I left my name and number and still no calls. My husband is miserable and I am becoming very impatient with this office and lack of care.
