Unfortunately I was not able To receive services here. I have never heard of a salon that requires a deposit to book an appointment but I made one and paid anyways. I had my appointment scheduled at the end of the day and I got a call earlier in the day to see if I could come in early and unfortunately I couldn’t due to my work schedule. They said no big deal, just come as scheduled. 2 hours before my appointment they called to cancel. 2 hours. I bet if I would have canceled two hours before my appointment I would have lost my deposit. I almost would have understood the cancellation had they not already called to see if I could come early. Maybe the stylist had an open time slot and didn’t want to wait around. Who knows. Maybe they should be offering their clients a deposit to book services with them.

I could not be happier with my experiences with Taylor at Hairbenders. I have wild curly hair and she not only knows how to take care of it but educates me so I can better care for my hair and understand exactly what she is doing, I wish every hair dresser did this! She is talented, knowledgable and incredibly kind. Would highly recommend!! This salon is very clean, organized and professional. I dont ever want to go anywhere else! I always feel comfortable and welcome when I arrive and leave feelings beautiful and happy. Thank you Taylor and Hair Benders!

Oh my goodness this place is amazing. And not to mention very reasonable in price. I had never had my hair colored before told the girl Brittany what I was thinking she turned a hot mess into a piece of gold. I was so impressed. This place is highly recommended A+++++

Taylor at Hairbenders did the most amazing job on my hair even though she was super busy with her appointments and running behind. Her recommendations had me ending up with the most beautiful haircut I have ever had! I will absolutely be going back for my next haircut. I especially loved how my long hair didn’t throw her off at all which has happened so many times isn’t the past with other people.

I took an 8 year old girl to see Voula at Hairbender’s who had removed from a home where she had been neglected. This little girls long hair had not been brushed in heavens knows how long and it was SEVERELY matted. It was the consistency of one huge dread on the back of her head that was about 8” wide x 6” long x 2” deep, and they were up against her scalp. We were told that we would have to cut it all off but this sweet little girl was horrified at the thought of losing her hair. She had already been through so much. For legal reasons, I cannot say more about the little girl.Voula spent hours untangling that rats nest and saved most of that little girls hair. She was so kind and so sweet to her and knew exactly what to do when her tears started. Her hair turned out more beautiful than anyone ever imagined that it could and Voula, you are our hero!!! I highly recommend Hairbenders and Voula and I wish I could give you 1,000 stars!!!

Yesterday i went to hair benders and had preety bad experience. I showed pictures how I want my haircut to Voila she cut my hair within 5 mins and asked someone else to take care of styling without asking me whether I am convinced or not, I called her again and showed a picture again that I need more layers she cut my hair again but most of the time she is intrested in whats going on in salon and not on my haircut after styling as she curled my hair I didnt understand my look much but when I wash my hair my natural hair looks like disaster. After paying so much I got far different look what I asked for.

Dont go to hair benders expecting quality, sound advice from professionals to decide the hue/color depth and contrast of your hair. I know there are different hues that match individual skin tones but I cant tell exactly what those hues are. They couldnt tell either resulting in my taking up too much of their time and telling me I needed to decide right then what color to choose. The hairdresser Brittany was trying to hide her annoyance with me consuming her time but did a terrible job, which by the way I was sitting in the hairdressing chair earlier than my scheduled appointment. So she rushed over to Kia, who was actually very friendly and seemed to grasp the concept of what I was after. Kia said to trust Brittany, which I was willing to do...but then a bald man came to me (he was quite rude) asking me what I wanted, we talked for about 2 minutes when he then told me I needed to decide right that minute what I wanted because they were running out of time (in total I spoke with all three hairdressers combined for 30 minutes) so I left..I was willing to give them thousands of dollars from my future business and Im actually a very good tipper too! Im so disappointed in the way that Brittany and the bald man handled the situation!

Semi overpriced than other salons. However, the worst thing about my recent experience was waiting 15-20 minutes for the front desk young lady to get off her cellphone while she hid in the closet behind desk. She seen I was waiting but having a non-emergency personal call was more important than letting my daughters and I go home after our haircut. Then she gave major attitude and a bogus reason for why a New Years eve email coupon/special couldnt be applied. Customer service and experience is EVERYTHING. Not sure Ill be back, nor my daughters.

I came into this salon with dark hair that had been dyed in the past, and I left this salon with the most BEAUTIFUL blonde I’ve ever been. All of the women were extremely accommodating and all got along like sisters, and the owner is very engaged with the clients and stylists. Overall would not recommend any other salon than hair benders. 11/10

I made an appointment at 5:30 on Friday because I work til 5. They called me and left a voicemail that they had a cancellation if I wanted to come earlier to call them. I couldn’t because I was at work so then they call and say the girl had to leave they needed to reschedule. Look everyone wants to leave work early on Friday some of us can’t. Either you want my business or you don’t. Guess they don’t.

I continue to receive excellent service from Hairbenders. The staff members are helpful to each other which really stands out to me.

I made an appointment at Hairbenders online to get my hair lightened at 2:30. After waiting 30 minutes past my appointment time the stylist I booked with (I won’t say her name, because I work retail and I don’t wanna call anyone out like that) told me that because I had some remaining faded purple in my hair, what I was asking for (to just remove the purple, and lighten as much as possible) was impossible. She also told me that I had not booked a long enough appointment, it was for 3 hours. She looked over my hair and made me feel like she was almost irritated with me. I had lightened my hair previously and put in a semi permanent direct dye that I had previously been able to remove without issue on my own. She asked me how much I was expecting to spend and I said no more than 250. She made a face, and walked off because she said she was unsure how to remove fantasy colors from hair. When she returned she told me that I was looking at 350+ and had no idea how expensive it would get. She said my best choice was to dye it dark at that price. I told her I needed to think about it and she said good luck getting it done somewhere else for that price. I made an appointment at a salon downtown later that day and got it done for 210 with tip in just 3 hours. I’m very stunned at this experience as I have had my hair done at several nice salons all over Chattanooga and have never had such a poor experience.

I came in with my hair completely messed up and leaving i looked like a 🌟 this place is full of miracle workers I absolutely love the outcome and the whole family thing that they have going on such a pleasure to be a new client of theirs and a piece of their families!

I have been getting my hair done here for about 7 years!! They are the best in chattanooga by far, and have so much respect for their clients. They all work together as a team and it shows when you are in the salon, doesn’t matter if you are upstairs or downstairs!

It was okay. I arrived and was quickly ushered to the basement. Everyone upstairs seemed like upper class, and, well, Im not upper class. I just wanted a trim and some bangs. Which I got. Was very pricey for such a simple cut. My stylist talked A LOT. Im just not one of those people who likes to talk all the time. Also, I told her my hair wouldnt curl (its super straight natually), but she kept trying and trying and trying. It was a huge waste of time and it was annoying. I probably wont go back to get my hair done here again.

This is an upscale salon. Though Im not one to spend a lot, my hair needs special attention. I have curly hair, so I dont have to go in more than every 10 weeks. Curtis is an amazing stylist. He listens and adapts as my hair and needs charge.

Before I went I read reviews on here and to be honest they scared me. From my personal experience at this salon these reviews seem to just be picky unsatisfied customers. I have never had better service at a salon, I was asked by multiple staff members if I needed refreshments or if I was comfortable. I was given a robe to put on over my clothes under the cape to insure my clothes were not damaged. My stylist was very gentle with me and explained everything she was doing to my hair to make sure I was okay with it. I did not leave with what I asked for, and I think that this is where some bad reviews come from. However, the reason I didnt get what I came in for is because my hair was very damaged and my stylist explained to me that it would be very bad for my hair health to bleach it in its state. I left with something better than I had asked for in the first place. My hair hasnt looked this healthy in years, and I will definitely be going back. I will say that this salon is pricey I paid $115 for a cut and color, but you get what you pay for!

Alisha Day is my favorite stylist. She listens! Then she creates a hair style I can manage myself. I LOVE her color expertise.

I have a really crazy haircut that Ive had a hard time finding hairstylist that are able to understand what I want. I have always been happy with the 5+ haircuts Ive gotten here. Everyone I have had cut my hair has always been asking questions about what I want and really tries to understand what I want. However, Alicia (sp?) in particular was amazing. She took the first five minutes to hear me talk about my haircut and even asked a colleague advice on what/how to do my cut. I appreciated this about her a lot because asking for help doesnt shop incompetency, it shows that youre professional enough to ask someone how to do something right so your client has what they want. 10/10 service. Ive never had my hair color done here, only cuts. Theyre $40 +tip (tax already included) which is an extremely reasonable price for a salon cut!

I was excited all week to go to Hair Benders on Gunbarrel Rd in Chattanooga, Tn and get a new hairdo. I made my appointment by phone and was only asked my name and phone number and what I wanted done (this will be important later.) I told the person on the phone that I wanted a very loose perm. When the day finally came to get my hair done, I came into the salon about 15 minutes early. I only waited about 10 minutes for them to take me back. I was with Jana. She immediately looked bored and asked me what I wanted. I told her I wanted a loose perm. She touched my hair for literally 5 seconds. She then informed me that she couldnt perm my hair. She said it was because I had highlights in my hair. That was fine. I understand that I may sometimes asked for something that cant be done, but under no circumstance should she cop an attitude and treat me like I am a moron. She continued to be a complete snob to me as she told me all she could do was a cut and color. She told me that she would love to take my money but that if I wanted a perm, I would have to go down the street and get one. Well guess what? I did go down the street and got EXACTLY what I wanted. When I told them about the incident, they were shocked. They said that they get Hair Benders customers all the time because they are so rude.By the way, this was my first Hair Benders experience. It will most certainly be my last.

First of all, one of the women had the smell of liquor on her breath. Secondly, they wanted and outrageous amount of time and money for what should have been a simple service for my girlfriend. They probably wouldnt cut us a deal because we arent free masons. Dont go here if you value your time and your wallet.

I started to Hair Benders within the last year. I can honestly say that I enjoy going to get my hair cut now. The environment is relaxing and everyone from the first impressions individual to the check-out process is very welcoming. My personal hairstylist Keya is AMAZING! Love her and my haircut! Highly recommend her and Hair Benders!

My experience here was okay. Most of the staff were polite, although it being my first time there ever, I didnt realize there were three different levels to the building. I parked at the front door entrance when my stylist was actually on the second floor and had to walk half way around the building to get to my car when I was finished! Luckily it wasnt raining that morning! Maybe they could tell customers ahead of time which level their stylist will be on, so they can make plans to park closer.

I absolutely LOVE HBI - all of the staff is very friendly and professional. Jamie does a fabulous job cutting and coloring my hair. He takes his time and gives a lot of thought into how to best treat my hair. Unfortunately my hair was a little damaged when I first started coming, and he has taken excellent care to ensure that my hair stays healthy and looks its best. I wouldnt go anywhere else - they truly know what they are doing! Im definitely not surprised that they continue to be voted Best of the Best.

Jamie is my stylist, and I wont go anywhere else. I have baby fine, color-treated hair. He is a perfectionist with his work. I trust him completely.

Would have rated lower if I could. I got a simple layer cut with bangs. It was not possible to distinguish much after they blow dried my hair but a single shampoo wash showed that there were barely any layers to my hair. Waste of money and time - and hair! Thank God that I didnt go too short so I can fix this soon at a hair salon back home in India :-@ please learn to cut hair properly before displaying boards that youre the best of the best - that fooled me.

Went in for a cut and half high lights half low lights. She did two treatments without telling me. Im accustomed to paying $180, but when she was completely done and walking me to pay she told me she was charging me $500. Single mom in college with a newborn. I think they should ask you if you want the treatment, and at the very least tell you the prices before doing it. Will not be going back.

Curtis worked some major magic on my hair! He is very creative and has an eye for what works on the right person. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I will definitely return!

It was worth the drive to Chattanooga for a truly professional cut. Curtis took the time to listen and understood my concerns and gave a great style. Very pleased with the salon and staff...I will be back!

I came here to get extensions because of their reputation. I was happy with the results but only because I was uneducated. After paying thousands of dollars I couldn’t put my hair in a ponytail or style it at all. I thought this was typical until I decided to try another smaller salon. I was charged not even a quarter of what Hairbenders charged me and I left with my hair in a ponytail which I hadn’t been able to do in months. Not to mention it didn’t come out nearly as much which meant I was spending less on touch-ups. I went from paying $3,000 yearly then $500 every 4-6 weeks for my tape-ins to spending $300 every 6 months and then $160 every 8 weeks in between. Plus I can style my hair more easily and they’re more sturdy so I no longer have to worry chunks of my hair randomly falling out. At least in my case they ridiculous prices for mediocre results.

Best salon for cut, and any type of color service in Chattanooga. Love this place, although it can be hectic on the main floor on Saturday. They educate their stylists and require internships. My stylist Christy, knew what she was doing

Absolutely loved this place. It was my first time coming and as soon as I came in the door, everything felt so welcoming. I was with my stylist within five minutes of being there. I had a cut and a balayage color done and I am so pleased with the results. Will definitely be returning!
