I greatly appreciate the well mannered staff, the concern and quick responses. I appreciate the help most places and people not trying to give without digging deep in your pockets. But far as psychiatric help the wait to is alittle distance / too long.

Monarch was quick to do an assessment however for psychiatric care it has been less than desirable. NP that I had never met filled out paperwork for my employer which caused delays monetarily. They can’t seem to get a Rx right to save their life.This has not been a good experience whatsoever.

My experience with Monarch, over the seven or so years I’ve been treated there, has been outstanding. From the phone operators, to the front desk, to the intake nurses, to Desiree Matthews, everyone is kind, professional, helpful, and thorough.I couldn’t be happier with my care.Monarch should be very proud of their people.

Ever Since Ive been going through Monarch and receiving their services I first started out with Dr Rau in which I was very pleased with him he always took the time to listen never rush any of my sessions always show compassion empathy and sympathy. Then I started seeing Dr Shane and I must admit I was a little skeptical because I didnt know this doctor but as Ive grown to known Dr Shane I am just as pleased as I was with Dr Rau due to the fact that Dr Shane possesses the same qualifications that I was already receiving. Dr Shane takes his time with his patients he communicates with us always on a professional basis and makes us feel comfortable to speak freely over any given circumstances that concerns us. I will definitely say even though Dr Rau is surely Miss I am very pleased and satisfied with the professionalism and care of Dr Shane and I would recommend Dr Shane to anyone that I know that is in need of his care. I also must add that the staff are all professional and not one time have I gone there and have seen any other behavior from this place and I must say whoever is in charge of the training of the staff and the upkeep of the building in that office its definitely Hands-On. The building is always clean as well as monarch office space as well the rooms. I am truly pleased grateful and glad that I found this place I would recommend this place to anyone who needs the help that I received from them God bless.

I have had nothing but bad experiences with Monarch. Im actually currently sitting here waiting for my 11 am appointment happen. Its now 1 pm. Ive been waiting this entire time. You play constant phone tag with them and its ridiculous trying to get and attend an appointment.

They have always strived to help me. I know that I have some issues to say the least but even through this pandemic they have seemed to care. My doctor desiree has been incredibly thoughtful and caring to my situation and I truly believe wants the best for me.

Dr Pak is a GOD send and I really Appreciate HIS Professionalism..He always know just from 1 LOOK at Me rather my psychosis has returned.. I always feel SAFE when I visit the site..Hes VERY concerned by MY wellness care.. Ive been living comfortable with THIS MENTAL illness issues for about 30 years but with ALL the Stressful situations due to the Virus..life showed up.. Got assessed by an md, said i might be diagnosed with ptsd, bi polar disorder, major depressive disorder, and adhd. I end up having to wait a whole month to get help. As someone who goes through pain every single day that is such a long time, i dont even know if Ill be alive in a month.

I do like the phone appointments since I have terrible memories of the rude staff in the past.The appointment reminders help me since my memory is getting worse. Everything goes more smoothly with the phone apts and helps those who cannot drive or afford gas or a bus to make their appointments .

I just moved to Charlotte I’m currently been diagnosed with ptsd marjor depression and bipolar I done been through so much pain after I loss my babies etc... it goes on and on like another chapter in the book I’m currently also homeless due to a old landlord because of disability discrimination and it’s like no help very slow of helping peoples that’s going through so much right now it sucks yo 😢🤦🏽‍♀️Hope monarch gets the ball running quickly as possible

I was referred to Monarch. The staff is very helpful. The wait is horrible. However it’s not bad once you’re actually a patient. I was a walk-in. I was there for 6 1/2 hours. I didn’t wanna leave because I was afraid of my name being called and not being present ! I spoke with a “doctor” through a video call I didn’t like that because I feel I need intense one on one, hands-on, help. I have no insurance , so I’m prescribed medications I can’t afford to pay for. However I HAVE to get the medications, it’s court appointed. No one told there was a pharmacy there. I found out once I left and I live on the other side of town. I don’t like the fact that they refer you to a therapists. They don’t do therapy on site. The onlyGood thing is that there isn’t a wait period to get an assessment. However be prepared to wait all day for it. If you wanna know something, ASK, they won’t tell you. Their goal is to get you IN and OUT. if anyone is looking for a mental clinic with no wait period that’s easy to access. Try Amara Wellness.

As a walk in I did wait a long time but recently I had 2 virtual appointments. Not a long wait at all. I prefer the virtual appointments since I dont have reliable transportation.

It’s great that there is a place that assist those in need financially. My daughter was referred to this clinic for assessment after being released from the hospital! I received no help. Sat in the waiting rooms for hours to be told she could not be seen. Staff does not seem to know anything everyone told me different stories both times I’ve gone. From my personal experience I do not recommend this place!

A+ for being able to be seen for no co-pay with no income at the time. Thanks to the staff here I finally got diagnosed with bipolar depression and was told this is why after being put on some many different pills nothing worked, I couldnt work or stay in a relationship long. Monarch changed my life and thank you to Jude, Ms. Matthews, and Ruth for helping me these years. Completely changed my life.

It is good to get the attention you need

Monarchs staff was very helpful in navigating my insurance benefits. My family doctor recommend Monarch due to my anxiety getting worse. I have seen therapist and a nurse practitioner and they are professional and kind. I was able to get medication I needed and they made sure I could afford it. I know many might complain about long wait times, but they have very knowledgeable staff and it is well worth the wait to see them. Thank you caroline , Rebecca and Desiree for being truly kind human beings in my time of need.

Everyone was very nice and professional. For a place that charges pennies on the dollar for health care I dont see how so many could give this place a bad rating. Every time Ive been there Ive been treated very fairly.

Short staffed, new computer system that no one was trained on. Went 1st day for an appointment then was told it was walk-in clinic. Was told fill out paperwork then computer crashed at 2:00. Went back 2nd day at 8am and waited 9 hours!! No food and snack machine broken. Still not seen by doctor was told to come back on the 3rd day which is today...results remain to be seen.

It may be a bit of a long day if you see the therapist and the doctor in the same visit so be prepared with some water and snacks. I ended up seeing a therapist then was scheduled to see the someone for medication the next day. It was pretty hassle free for how many people need help, it was not that long of a wait and beat going to the psych hospital for days. Saw Ms. Matthews for evaluation and went smooth. Got back on the meds that have helped and hope people give this clinic a chance. They all are hard working people and really want to help.

I gave them two stars because they help people in need. I didnt give them more because theyve let their practice become overwhelmed. A 48 hour period for a nurse call back about meds and only sleeping 4 hours a night is a bit ridiculous. They need to stop taking more patients until they can manage the ones they already have. Staff is nice. Be prepared to wait about 4-6 hours for a first appointment.

This is a great place. You are able to do a walk in as a new patient. I think a lot of the complaints is that the wait is long. Youre going to have to wait your turn to be seen for the first time just like if you went to the ER. It is great you can walk in if you need mental health care without having to wait weeks for an appointment. Once you get in as a patient it is pretty easy to call and schedule an appointment. The pharmacy in the building as good prices, better than walmart on most. The clinic also has therapists as well as psychiatrists for kids and adults.

If i could leave zero stars, be sure i will!!! This place is awful!!! Monarch changed A LOT in the past 2 years. I used to like them. I been there with them for almost 5 years but they services went down hill pretty quick. Now is a whole mess. The reception doesnt have a freaking clue what they are doing. They give you an appointment but you have to arrive 15min early and if you dont make it in those 15min, they dont take you. Even when the actual appointment has a different time. That happened to me not too long ago. I came couple min early before my actual appointment and they still didnt took me in. I told them i had withdraws from the medication and they didnt care. The whole skype situation is just plain ridiculous. Thats been happen quite often to me recently. Very unprofessional. They dont have therapist there anymore. Now, you have to be referral to a different place. Are you freaking serious?!? Is just ridiculous!!!Warning: if they sent you to get a blood test, dont do it! They said is part of the program but they will send you a bill for the whole thing after you get the results. Some places do the same test for free (like your primary doctor or even other organizations). They also did a drug test without my consent. I dont have nothing to hide but the fact that, when i got the blood test done, they explained me everything they wanted to check. Except that they forgot to tell me a drug test was also included. I just came for my appointment and guess what? The psychiatrist wasnt there!! They didnt even call me to tell me that the psychiatrist wasnt coming today. They even told me That she took the day off. They dont care about the people anymore. That place is a disgrace!!! If you want a good service, this place doesnt offer any of that. I have the feeling they change management and is not good. No good.

So lucky to find this place, even with insurance impossible to get seen by anyone in Charlotte without a waiting list. I saw a nurse practitioner named Desiree Matthews and she was very thorough for the first visit and made sure my past diagnosis were correct. Only down side is that they dont prescribed klonopin or controlled substances here. I think a lot of complaints have to do with that. I was put on different sleep and anxiety medication and it is actually working better and I dont have to worry about being hooked on xanax anymore so it was a blessing in disguise taking me off.

Could not find anywhere that didnt have a month or two wait for my childs ADHD assessment. I was able to walk in and although I had to wait two hours, it was a much better alternative to waiting two months to seek care. The doctor was very professional and helpful.

This place is a nightmare appts are so far out . Then they ask you to come in 30 mins early to only sit for hours to be told your child can not be seen. Had to come back the next day . They prescribed medication but I have yet been able to get then because the doctor have not called insurance company to authorize it . This place needs to be shut down!!!!!! Its a joke

On Thursday the 8 - 3- 17 . My nephew and I was referred by the mental health and court system to seek services.The desk clerk stated that we had to make an appointment to meet with a psychiatrist. My nephew, who was the patient and I ( aunt). Came to the office of executive center drive on the 8/ 4/ 17 8am for his appointment assignment. When the representative called him, I was told on 8/3/17 that I could come in with him, to sign off as one of his guarding, since I was not on the initial information form. He signed up for medical, court, and other permissions to have family members release to this information. The representative took my name and contact number. She also said that I could talk with the psychiatrist on the 8/4/17 at 8am about my nephews conditions and needs, because he had problem explaining them to the Representative. My nephew suffered from mental disorders, drug addiction, metal disease ( laughs uncontrollable ) , physical needs, memory lost, mentally challenged, and extreme social problems involving the law through out his life, even-through he is not violent unless he is forced and can not avoid confrontation with anyone. At the present time, he needed medical meditate attention , because of a bad tooth ache. He dont have money, or any means of supporting his self. He is homeless and living in the streets. He was given apartment and medical clinic listings after the incident and meeting with the doctor , that he can not comprehend or, have the ability to do. His SSI had stopped. We as his family have always suggested it with the mental health services and court system , that he would need a long term assistance housing facility.. After arriving to the appointment, the doctor called him and informed me that I could not attend the session. I when ask one of the desk clerk about this and she informed me that the doctor would talk with me after the session end. He came out after the session. I went up to the desk clerk to ask why I didnt get to talk with the doctor, and the desk clerk told me that the psychiatrist didnt want to talk with me, my nephew information was private. My nephew have problems comprehending everything thats said ,spoken. repeated, to him., making a complete sentence, or, what is right and wrong. I witness these employees rudeness , unprofessional, un - trusting, incompetence, way that they handle other peoples mental , physical lives and needs. They put their feeling first on the job, and attack you when they want too before helping the needy. I felt that I was marked and targeted, and attacked by the employees, against my rights to stand and support my family member.

The Nurse Practioner that we saw needs some type of mental health treatment herself! When she stepped out of her office as we were coming down the hallway, she was shaking like a leaf! Then, when my son started getting excited and cursing when we were talking about his meds (which shouldnt be unusual for someone who is working in a mental health facility), she asked us to leave & threatened to call security! She has absolutely no training on how to deescalate a situation, and instead, she made it worse! I was able to calm my son, and he was sitting quietly when she started in again suggesting that he leave the room so that we could talk privately because she wasnt going to let him talk to her disrespectfully! I asked her who she was going to have watch him while we spoke privately, and of course, she hadnt thought of that! I also made her aware that she just got him worked up again! In addition, she was just going to send us out the door, telling us to discontinue his current medication, without giving him something else to control his aggression. I had to insist that if she were going to take him off of a med., then she needed to replace it with something else. She is not mentally fit to work at a behavioral health facility where agitated individuals probably come in on a daily basis!

This is the worse place of treatment by far!!!! The staff is horrible and gives incorrect expectations. They do not discuss treatment and medications with you so that you can understand what you’re taking. Had to go through 4 appointments to get medication. Saw several nurses and clinicians but saw one dr for five minutes on a screen through Skype video??? I would rather just die or go mentally insane then ever set foot in this hell hold again.

If I could give zero stars I would. The front desk staff seemed like they were better than you. But I didnt let it upset me too much until I went back to speak with this blonde lady who introduced herself seemed like it was a rushed situation she was very careless and her attitude toward me answering questions and apparently I didnt answer quick enough and she tried to get smart. Wrong thing to do with a woman in my situation I told her I dont want to do this she immediately got agitated speaking to me as if I were beneath her and sarcasm is a trigger for me especially in a professional environment.Long story short I snapped and left. I read the reviews I should have took the advice I wasted my time these people do not care if you really really need the help please go elsewhere.

If you need to see a psychiatrist and cant wait for an appointment you can walk in without an appointment but expect to be there 4 hours plus waiting but is better than going to the hospital. They dont give out xanaxs here or adderall, but they really try to get you on the right medicine and can provide samples of drugs if you have no money.

My daughter had 2 appointments at this place never seen anyone. First time a couple minutes late due to traffic her therapist had left already, second visit Waited 39 minutes to be seen by screen tv no show when she was told it would be face to face. Very unprofessional experiences.

I attended the program for 2 yrs, I had a treatment team that helped me with my problems. My therapist was a joke and my case manager did not know about Charlotte Housing Authority. They need to understand how to apply for housing. I asked several times about therapy and was told I needed to attend group education programs such as Mindless Meditation and EBT classes. I really needed individual therapy. My Psychiatrist was Dr. Smith and was asked stupid questions every time I saw him... However I found out that once you understand his behavior can ask for assistance. He help me to get housing at Charlottetown terrace. I am grateful for his help..

Waited Initial intake process 4+ hours!!!Assessment an additional hour of questions!!!If we want to actually see a doctor it will be another hour and a half to two hours.Grand total 6 hours...

My friend went as I waited outside. My overall semse of things was she was benefiting from her visits. Unfortunately, her malady is predictably unpredictable. I wish she wouldgo back. There in is the cundrum.

Probably one of the worst experiences Ive ever had, as someone suffering from Depression and General Anxiety this place did the exact opposite of help. The appointment with the doctor was held over a video call which was set up poorly, the doc gave a script for Latuda and a few others however it was recommended to try the samples for a month first.They had only 14 days worth, the nurse who was polite and courteous called their rep who said theyd have the remaining 14 days worth later that afternoon would hold them for me to pick up the following day. Things came up so we had to go in the day after.Upon returning to pick them up the nurse nor doctor that had been informed during the call of the shortage had not made a note of it and put it in my records. The receptionists were initially rude an treated me as if I was a disingenuous liar an talked to me in a condescending manner which caused a few patients to snicker an mock my frustration, after nearly a hour of waiting the situation was resolved an the woman who brought the samples out was courteous an apologized.However the damage is done an for a place thats supposed to be a environment fit for helping those suffering from anxiety an mental illness this felt like the complete opposite.I was already uncomfortable coming there because there had been people in front of the building attempting to solicit money from my girlfriend and I.If you need help for mental illness I would strongly advise against it at this location. I will be looking into going to another facility where hopefully this will not happen.

The therapist who assessed me laughed when I told her one of the ways I tried to kill myself. THEN, after emphasizing I wanted to see a female psychiatrist, and being told Id be seeing Desiree, they hand me over to a male. If I didnt need medication management, I would have gone somewhere else. I struggle with PTSD, so I have been suffering with flashbacks after being alone in a room with an older male.

The full of crap doctors. Messed people up. Say they are going to call prescriptions in and dont. This place is just ridiculous.if I could put 0 stars I would! Do not go here. Ever. I regret it.

This is the worst place for loved ones with mental illnesses. A lot of talk, no action or follow through and made the situation worse over the long haul.

I would give no stars but you have to put something to review. It took a week to see the idiot doctor who prescribed an antihistamine for anxiety. Ive been trying to get help, because obviously the meds arent working, for over a week now but Im bei g totally ignored. Worthless!

TERRIBLE. I came here for treatment of my Anxiety, Depression, Bi-Polar and PTSD. I need to get a psychiatrist right away and didnt like the fact that the other providers in the area have a 3-4 months wait for initial visit, so I chose this place. BIG MISTAKE. So I go in this morning at 8:00 am when they open. And I wait. And I wait. After my 2 1/2 hour wait (with appointment), I got the rudest, nastiest, meanest psychiatrist Ive ever met in my life. He must really hate the world, himself and his job or he gets off on treating people terribly. He was very dismissive of all my complaints, refused to allow me to go to their out-patient counseling either one-on-one or group (because he said I dont need it), refused to refill any of my medication (most important is klonopin 2mg which I take 3 times a day and have been doing so for 2 years; you can go into withdrawal seizures without this medication, especially at the highest dose and for as long as Ive been taking it. I told him about this and he laughed and giggled and made a huge grin and said not my problem.), he laughed at the amount of times Ive been to the E.R., out-patient and in-patient hospitalization, asked me and re-asked questions which were answered on the paperwork he was staring at, and basically did nothing but write me a prescription for Lamictal which I told him Ive taken before for 6+ months and it did nothing. He didnt even tell me his name. I got Dr. Smith from the front desk when I described what he looked like when I checked out. This place is truly horrible. I feel deeply for the people who use their sliding scale program (people without insurance).

It takes a lull while to be seen or get appointments,however it really worth it,Genoa pharmacy is exceptionally great also. 300$ scripts for like 30$etc.truly helpful to people without insurance and money

Best place in Mecklenburg - better than Novant/CMC - in caring for and healing....those that must live with the seriously dysfunctional. DBT training assists in identifying ones own failures in interpersonal relationships as well as what others do to us - skill by skill. Weekly, careful and kind oversight of the emotional work you must accomplish is the key. Highly recommended!

I wanted to see a consellerthe secretory said theres a long waitif you want to get some food and come back before 3pm that would be fine.there computers crashed. so i would have to come back tomarrow (sounds like it happens often) and could be a sign of constantcomputer hacker attack, i hope notbeware. of HIPAA violations .... Dont be the leak!!!
