Let me start by stating the staff was friendly, which was nice. But holy cow, $530 for an initiate basic visit, cleaning. The person advising us recommended the full set of treatments including fluoride and x-rays, not mentioning anything about additional costs. They knew we did not have insurance but advised us of a full work up anyway. In the end, what I would have expected to be at most a $300 visit was nearly double. -- Very over priced. Felt very much like a money grab, less about the patients or family. -- Well be taking our business elsewhere.

Loved our first visit with Dr. Hardin and Faith. As a new mother, I had concerns about the use of fluoride, and Dr. Hardin did her own review of updated studies and printed out academic papers supporting her recommendation for fluoride. I was very impressed and thankful! Looking forward to our next visit.

The office staff was friendly, and all of my questions and concerns were taken care of. They are very clean. I loved every visit. They are well-organized. Keep up the good work!!

I just took my daughter for her first dentist appointment and they made us feel so special! Everyone was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. We had the pleasure of having Faith as our dental assistant. She was full of knowledge and was so gentle with my busy two year old. I literally could not ask for a better experience.

Great first experience! Becky at the front desk was super welcoming and helpful and very conscientious about COVID protocols. Jasmine was great at helping my slightly nervous 5 year old feel comfortable, and Dr. Hardin was excellent with both me and my son as she explained the procedure he will have at our next visit.

They are great. My kids came out so excited and ready to tell me about how they suppose to take care of there teeth. They gave detail instructions on how to care for there teeth and prevention care. The front desk and staff was so welcoming. This is my new dentist family.

My daughter had her first dental visit today. Faith was so patient and kind with us. My 5 year old son always looks forward to going to the dentist thanks to Southern Village Pediatric Dentistry.

I cannot say enough good things about this amazing practice. The endless patience and gentle manner of the staff and practitioners made it possible for even my most nervous, sensory sensitive, and easily overwhelmed child to have a successful cleaning.

Such a wonderful dentist office! My 2 yo son had to have an ER dental checkup for his front teeth. They were so kind AND got us in immediately. We went back 4 weeks later for an X-ray and that appointment was even more impressive. The hygienist somehow got my 2 yo to sit long enough without totally melting down to get an X-ray. It was really neat to witness someone so good with kids. The dentists are also wonderful. So good at explaining everything and helping everyone feel comfortable. The front desk staff are so kind and helpful and really know about what dental insurance will/will not cover and are so upfront and patient. Highly recommend!

The front desk staff always greets you as you walk in the door with a hello and a smile. The games upfront are great to keep kids busy while waiting to be called. The technician and dentist take a great deal of care in working with the kids. They make sure that the parent is well informed and understands what is going on with their childs dental health. The front desk staff always makes sure that appointments are scheduled. Placing leaves on the tree and going to the gumball type machines is very encouraging to kids. My daughter loves this place.

I am quite impressed with this practice. I appreciate Dr Hardin and Dr Shauna. I had been taking my daughter to a different practice, however she had a small issue and I disagreed with their treatment plan, so I found SVPD as a second opinion, and I am glad I did! I hope to bring my LO for years to come.

My daughter had issues with our old dentist and this was our first visit. Staff was excellent and the environment was very kid-friendly. Really appreciated how they put my daughter at ease and how thorough the cleaning was. Well definitely keep going to SV Pediatric Dentistry.

I love coming here to get my teeth done. The office lady’s are very friendly and so our the people who do my teeth. They always try to make you feel comfortable and that’s a plus.

Without fail every time we visit we are warmly welcomed and made to feel like they have been waiting all day, just to see us...and yet you sit in the waiting room and see that they somehow make everyone that way too. Such an inviting space as well. My daughter was nervous about getting a tooth pulled, but the flow and energy around the process from minute one was calming and affirming. She left the office feeling proud of herself, and I left feeling like I would turn my kids over to Dr. Hardin’s care without hesitation, in any situation. Nice work!

The office sells the idea that, with insurance, your cost is only $6 for the initial visit. Once you go in and they develop an “assessment plan” for your child, you will be paying a lot more than that. Given they are not in-network with any insurance, they can and will charge whatever they want. Now, you can try asking for that information upfront so you have an idea of cost, but you’ll be met with an “I’m sorry but we do not disclose any service fees”. Just because of their location it does not mean they are good at what they do, does it?! Do a favor to your child and look for a good and open, honest dentist clinic. One that has nothing to hide.

We could not imagine a better dentist for our almost 4 year old daughter. She has been going to see Dr. Hardin since she was 2 1/2 and absolutely loves her. We always have a positive experience with Dr. Hardin, and her amazing staff make everything seem amazing and cool in the eyes of our toddler. She actually asks when she can go back to the dentist. If only Dr. Hardin would treat adults too! If you are looking for a dentist for your child, you will not be disappointed with Southern Village Pediatric Dentistry. They are the very best oral health care providers in the Triangle!

Great visit for my son today. We were greeted by the ladies at the front desks with professionalism, friendly smiles and great attitudes! I must also say that the waiting area and the examination rooms are kid and family friendly. After the dental exam, the doctor came out to introduce herself and to inform me about the exam. When my son came out, the hygienist accompanied him to present his dental report card and review what the doctor had as already told me.. She was very thorough, and patient to hear/answer my questions. Thank you, everyone, for being the Village that genuinely cares about and for my sons oral/dental health!

Just had another great experience here. We brought our three kids in for a routine checkup, including our youngest who was going to the dentist for the first time. All the kids had a good time and were very well taken care of. When we got home our youngest asked if we could go to the dentist again tomorrow :)

My son has an enamel condition and had to have 5 crowns and 3 sealants. He went to another dentist prior to finding Dr. Hardin, but I wanted a second opinion so I sought out the highest rated pediatric dentist in our area and SVP was it, and theres a reason. The staff is amazing. Angie at the front desk went above and beyond to help us on the day of his procedure, Dr. Hardin explained everything thoroughly to us and the anesthesiologist called before, and after the procedure to go over specifics and check on my son. Even though Dr. Hardins office is out of our network, I am willing to pay the additional cost in order to get the service and peace of mind that every parent wants and deserves. Truly amazing to find a place that is full of good people.

Dr. Hardin and her hygienists are AMAZING with our special-needs child. He actually looks forward to going because her office is so kid-friendly, beautiful and just plain fun! Our child has difficulties in social situations and with anxiety, and the entire staff are so well-versed and relaxed in their work with children with these issues, along with all other children. We would never want to go anywhere else! She is beyond five stars!!! She is the BEST IN THE WORLD! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER AND HER PRACTICE!

Great atmosphere for kids. Very friendly and helpful staff. Both of my kids (ages 6 and 10) have seen Dr. Hardin every 6 months for the last 3 years. Theyre never anxious to go, which is fantastic! Weve never had to wait more than 10 minutes for our appointment, and the exams and cleanings are very efficient. Highly recommend.

My daughter has never said any thing negative about the staff and dentist at Southern Village Pediatric Dentistry. I wanted to be able to take her to a dentist that didnt cause her pain and she assured me that they would make sure that Ashley would not hurt at all during the procedure. I may have to drive a distance but it SO worth it.

Yet again we had a WONDERFUL experience for all of our kids today at SVPD!!! There is not enough space for me to write all the things that I love about this dentist office! We have been coming here for about eight years (how time flies) and I continue to be amazed. And I do not say these things lightly. We had a wonderful experience for my daughters first dentist visit at 4 years old. She is now a huge fan of visiting the dentist after the smooth and relaxed time we had at SVPD. Wow!So we just had our 1st appointment at the Southern Village Pediatric Dentist. WOW. All I can say is WOW- what an amazing experience!!! The exam room is more like a playroom! Its full of toys and kids are encouraged to play while mom and the dental hygienist go over history, patient education, etc. Then parent & dental hygenist (DH) sit on cuboidal stools knee to knee and toddler sits on parents lap in a hug, then leans back onto a pillow on DHs lap and she examines the teeth. She (both toddler and DH) was soooooooooooo good!! Then DH goes to get the dentist and toddler is encouraged to play/read books with parent. The dentist comes in and is a repeat of earlier exam + cleaning as needed and more parent education (raisins are not great for teeth- sticky).She got a goodie bag with floss picks, toothbrush, and toothpaste. AND a free tee-shirt as a new patient (lime, fushia, or pretty panther blue), which she put on immediately. They electronically filed with our insurance for them to reinburse us, but I had to pay upfront (seems to be the way with pediatric dentists). It was $221 for the 40-minute new pt appointment, with $175 for follow-up appointments. Overall it was a GREAT experience and we will be back in August! My daughter is 20 months old with 10 teeth (and 2 about to erupt). All staff was extremely friendly and nice. OH! and they have a tree kids can hang their names on if they were cavity-free! So, so, so impressed and HIGHLY recommend!!As the kids get older they graduate to a open bay (as pictured on the website) with a gorgeous view of southern village (homes, not the public area). Everyone seemed very calm and awesome about everything. Im going to recommend them to every mom I know! I already did to everyone in her tumbling class afterwards! Great location!!
