Appointment for a Field Test today. Apparently the field test broke down earlier. Did I get a call to tell me to reschedule? No. Arrived on time, waited nearly half an hour then was taken for some 5 minute test that could have waited. So now I have to schedule another visit. Arent these medical people the ones who hound you to make sure you dont miss your appointment? A little more consideration for your patients would be appreciated.

The front desk staff were professional. However, the appointment with Dr. Haas was less than ideal. Dr. Haas did not take the time to explain any of his findings upon examining my eye and did not explain all of the potential options for treatments. He also didnt take time to listen to my questions. I will not be returning.

Ive been an eye care patient of Dr. John Wood and his staff since we moved here to NC 13 years ago. Unfortunately, at 78 years, I have several age related eye issues; glaucoma, macular degeneration, occluded arterial branch, and floaters. Having all these issues, I am grateful I can still see fairly well and am quite certain had I not been treated by Dr. Wood over the years, Id likely be nearly blind. The staff behind the desk has always been perfectly courteous and efficient. Dr. Woods assistants are equally as pleasant and they are well practiced in their knowledge and duties. If I have one complaint, it would be the length of waiting times I sometimes endure, but Chapel Hill Ophthalmology is a very busy practice because they are the best at what they do.

I have gone here for several years and seen all of the doctors (I think). My favorite left to start her own practice, which was sad. But on our last visit, my daughter had to see Dr. Haas for some eye pain that turned out to be a stye. Simple and easy, but he made all the difference in a nervous kids visit. His bedside manner was excellent for kids, he made it more of a learning experience. My son, who was with us, got to check my daughters eyes, which he thought was great, and my daughter was at ease with his engaging personality, and I felt he was thorough, explained the process well, and didnt jump to antibiotics. I will purposely make my next appointment with Dr. Haas.

I give them a 4 star based on their caring staff and professionalism, but I waited over an hour and a half before actually seeing doctor. Even told assistant I needed to get out of here so preferred to not be dilated if I didnt have to. That would be my only complaint.

As a new patient, they were very responsive to a painful chronic eye issue that needed attention immediately. They worked me into their schedule when I arrived without an appointment. Dr. John Wood identified the issue quickly and explained how to resolve. Follow up was excellent as well. I have found a new ophthalmologist I can trust!

The staff is always nice and friendly, very professional and greets you with a smile! They do a fantastic job of checking in on you even if your waiting for the doctor. Dr Wood is one of the best when it comes to patient care and finding a solution to an issue. Dr Wood does a thorough job with checking in on the patient, whether it for a appointment or after surgery. He takes the time to explain things to you so you understand the process. He even will take time out on the weekends to come into the office to make sure your doing OK after a procedure! Hands Down a fantastic Doctor! I would recommend him and his staff to anyone needing eye help! Thank you for doing a fantastic job! I wish all doctors offices had such a wonderful caring staff!

Im no genius, but Im sure you are not supposed to dilate someones eyes prior to checking to see if they can see from their new prescription contact lenses. I couldnt see anything almost the entire visit. It took them a little over 1 month to get my contact prescription correct for both eyes. I could say much more about this place, but why waste anymore of my time on them. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!!!!

Mr. Lane really values customer satisfaction and provides excellent service ! 2 weeks after purchasing a pair of glasses, I realized that they were sliding down my nose and causing headaches. I went in to talk with David about it and referenced these curly q earpieces I wore for years and loved because they kept the frames snug on my head. He remembered the product and, though they have been discontinued, offered an aftermarket fix (at NO charge!) that has worked beautifully for several months!

Optician (Marsha) did an AMAZING job fixing my kids glasses. I walked in desperate with two pairs of childrens frames that were almost unsalvageable. The temples were extremely bent and the screws almost impossible to fit into the tiny holes. She not only completely fixed both pairs of glasses but made it seem like they had never been stepped on in the first place. I was truly grateful for her wonderful service!!!

I am new to the Chapel Hill area, and was needing glasses. I found this office via Google, and went in a bit skeptical. But, the office is very clean and well managed. The practice was voted best-of in Chapel Hill, and Dr. Wood was extremely professional. I would recommend the practice to anyone looking for a professional and well maintained optometrists office.

I haven’t had a better, more rewarding experience than my time spent with Chapel Hill Opthamology- the doctors and the optics specialists are truly the very best and I have been through the ringer with online sellers and it’s an awful experience I don’t wish on anyone. I have changed my tune 100% after the -second to none- service I have received, and my frames and lenses exceeded my expectations thoroughly. I can not recommend them enough! Settle for none other than the lasting choice with your local best in the business ophthalmologist/optometrists at Chapel Hill Opthamology!

I had a fantastic experience with LASIK with Dr. Wood and his team! The results have been fantastic, with very minimal minor side effects after the surgery, which disappeared within weeks. I now have 20/20 vision for the first time in 20 years, and it has been well-worth every penny! Dr. Wood’s team is fantastic, and were incredibly friendly, helpful, and informative during every step of the process, from pre-consultation to post-surgery followup. I highly recommend LASIK with Dr. Wood.
