I have had unilateral hearing loss for the past 22 years. Dr. Carroll has been with me through this journey. I got my third hearing aid (Phonak Paradise) in 1/2021. Dr. Carroll also suggested purchasing the TV connector, which has totally transformed how I experience watching TV. The bluetooth capability has been invaluable, especially this year when I have had so many zoom meetings with people who have questionable audio. I have been amazed at how Dr. Carroll takes something I say and adjusts my hearing aids accordingly (i.e., I will say it is jarring when people say words with a sh sound in them and she will program the hearing aid to eliminate that). She is kind and supportive and happy to help with adjustments whenever needed.

Hearing aids dont belong in a drawer, but that is where mine stayed until I connected with Dr. Anita Carroll. Thinking that I was saving thousands of dollars, I gladly accepted a nearly new pair from an elderly neighbor who passed away before he wore them. For several years I went to an audiologist at one of our major hospitals in the area, who adjusted them a bit, but they never fit and generally drove me crazy, thus they were in my drawer. Neighbors urged me to contact Dr.Carroll, and after an amazing consultation, she literally changed my life with targeted audio and cognitive assessments, caring, personal attention, and brand new hearing aids made just for ME! Walking out of her office after my first fitting, I felt safer driving, more aware of my surroundings, better able to participate in conversations, and more. A number of my friends have are asked for Dr. Carrolls contact information. I am confident that they will be as delighted as I am!

Sharing for My Dad - My dad had this to say about Dr. Anita Carrolls practice:I am so pleased with your thorough analysis of my hearing problem. You prescribed exactly the type of hearing device I needed. Your training and follow up visits have been very helpful. The fine tuning has resulted in much improved hearing. Now I rarely need to ask anyone to repeat their comments. When in a crowded restaurant or in church, I am much more confident and comfortable. Thank you so much for your competent and professional services.Denzil Thorn

Ill start by saying that Anita has been my audiologist since I was 5 (I am 35 now). All of my hearing aids except one pair came from her and Ive always been beyond pleased. As someone born with a hearing deficit, having hearing aids isnt a choice I made, but just simply a part of my life. As the years pass, technology gets more advanced and each time I get new hearing aids i am more and more amazed at what I can hear that I couldnt before. Now is the time! With each new pair, I cannot begin to tell you the wonderful sounds I missed with the pair prior - an advantage to the previously mentioned newer technologies. Who knew that the key card machine in the parking garage made a slight beep when I scanned my card? Or that doves cooing is the most relaxing sound? These are things I never even knew I was missing!I even perform better at work with my new hearing aids because my brain isnt having to work as hard to process what I am hearing. Trust me when I tell you that getting by is not good enough - youre missing out on so much!Any stigma about hearing aids that prevents you from correcting your hearing is such small beans in comparison to what you will gain. With my new pair from Anita, I had a conversation with her for the first time in my life where I wasnt looking directly at her - she was behind me and even walked down the hall and I could still hear her!Anita will take care of everything for you. We had to do multiple remakes for this last pair due to my complicated and small ear canal and she dealt with the manufacturer for me and took care of all behind the scenes details. And, she never once gace me a remake limit - she said we will remake them until they are right. I will take care of it. The testing process is comfortable and easy. She is the expert of experts in this field and I trust everything that she tells me. She will help you find solutions to fit your needs and lifestyle. The only thing you are missing out on by not correcting your hearing is this: everything.

I went to Anita Carrolls office in search for a solution to get a better nights sleep in a noisy environment. Anita provided me with a solution that improved my sleep. Not only did the custom earplugs improve my sleep, but also I can put them on if needs be during the day. Excellent audiologist!

After years of encouragement, shall we say, from my family, I had an audiology exam and got hearing aids from Anita Carroll at Hearing Solutions in the Triangle. I’m thrilled with results. My wife and children noticed that I’m more engaged in family conversations and I’ve noticed that I’m less stressed about trying to follow conversations. At checkout counters in restaurants and stores I don’t have to feel embarrassed about asking them to repeat themselves once or twice. The hearing aids are unobtrusive and my children didn’t notice them until I pointed them out. I’m a little sorry I waited so long to get them.

Extremely professional and caring. Dr. Carroll has clearly put a lot of thought into how to get people to overcome the things that keep them from getting or using hearing aids. She seems to have as great an understanding of behavior as audiology. My highest recommendation.

I have been working with Anita for 5 years and have always had her full attention and commitment to improving my hearing as much as possible. For 5 years I had the Starkey Made-for-iPhone aids, which were great, but I found using the app for volume and mode adjustments cumbersome. I recently got the Phonak Audeo M, which is much better in many regards. The amplification and clarity is much better. Sound quality is good enough that I will listen to music thru the aids rather than home or car speakers. Filtering out background noise in crowded settings is much better, and is done automatically (though still difficulty hearing passengers over the road noise when driving.) The volume control is on the hearing aid, which is a much bigger advantage than I anticipated. They stream sound from my TV directly to the hearing aids thru their supplied Bluetooth device (all I had to do was plug it into the digital audio port). I can answer phone calls and speak just by touching the hearing aid as long as the phone is within Bluetooth range). Slightly slimmer, plus rechargeable battery. Strong recommendation!

The Bragi Customs are by far the best fitting earbud/headphone I’ve worn to date, and that includes another pair of molded in-ear monitors. They’re perfect for my work environment where it helps to have a “quiet space” but also is necessary to interact with people intermittently - the “transparency” feature is SO useful because I don’t have to remove my custom molds each and every time I have to address a colleague’s questions. I’d recommend them to everyone for more than these reasons, but these specifically stood out to me.

What a difference. I have been having difficulty for years and finally broke down and got a hearing test. Mild hearing loss, but causing me lots of trouble in public where theres a lot of competing sound. Dr. Carroll knew just what I needed, and I am so pleased with my hearing aids.

TL;DR Experience here was great! Dr. Carroll is awesome, personal, and helped me get custom ear plugs to improve my focus and sleep quality. They work like a charm!25y/m recently diagnosed with ADHD. Through talking with my therapist and psychiatrist, I was informed that helping reduce noise / exposure to a lot of stimuli can improve focus at work AND help me fall asleep more easily since my mind wouldnt be trying to process everything. I.e, try ear plugs!!!The thing is, I have pretty small ears. Foam ear plugs worked okay but I had to readjust every couple minutes, and the reusable kind you get at stores hurt my ears after a while. Both were a nuisance when I was trying to sleep. I decided to look into getting a custom pair. I searched online and made an appointment with Dr. Carroll. I was able to schedule one within like 2 days and went in for a consultation.Dr. Carroll was super nice and helpful. She explained the benefits of custom plugs. Theyre a little expensive up front, BUT they essentially last forever and require little maintenance to clean. And theyre shaped to fit your specific ears so theyll be nice and snug. She took impressions of my ear canals, sent the info to get the plugs made, and they came just a couple weeks later. I couldnt be happier with them - they fit snug, make things very quiet, dont fall out at night, and dont hurt if I leave them in overnight or while Im working! If you or your child have ADHD I highly recommend looking into custom plugs or consulting with Dr. Carroll. Or if youd just like to protect your hearing or focus more at work! Investment is worth it.
