Not the largest museum that youll visit, but extremely well curated with interesting exhibits. Nice combination of media and artifacts to bring the topics alive. Free with a $3 requested donation, so definitely worth the price of admission.

This place is a little gem and we had an amazing experience here! Alan was an exceptionally knowledgeable guide and took special interest in pointing out items of historical significance. He even spent a great deal of time answering all the millions of questions posed by our seven year old!!Thankyou Alan!

An excellent museum with very high quality displays produced by volunteers. Walking through the museum and looking at the displays you would think the entire place was laid out, designed and produced by professional museum designers. Well worth a visit. Especially if you live in Champaign County and havent ever been there.

This place is a wealth of history! Between an old cattle scale, a grocery mart thats from the 1800s (inactive ) and a two story museum I am really surprised more people dont go here. A hidden gem right in front of everyone!

Nothing expansive or fancy here ... just a couple of rooms of exhibits. But whats there is very well-presented, and gives a nice overview of the history of the county. One room is dedicated to how WWII affected Champaign County, especially at the (now-defunct) Chanute Air Base in Rantoul. That was very interesting. The people that work/volunteer there are friendly and clearly knowledgeable. You could see it for free, but its more than worth the $3 suggested donation.A very pleasant way to pass an hour.
