UHC is the least professional, least customer friendly healthcare service with which Ive ever had the misfortune to be associated. My family switched health insurance providers with a job switch in early 2020. Since then, UHC has denied every claim, including for COVID-19 testing, dental and medical care for my children, and more. Every time we file a claim, we are forced to call UHC after they deny the claim to update our information with the same information that has always been on the account. Then the billing is approved. UHC engages in bad faith denials of insurance claims and shouldnt be considered by anyone, employers included, for group benefits.

Do not use this insurance company. They will fight tooth and nail in order to avoid paying any and all claims. You could choose any other healthcare provider and most certainly be better off. You have been warned!

They get one star for the nice people who have the misfortune to work there. I’m sure they get nothing but irate calls since you have to call them for every freaking claim to get them to pay. They are such a pain to deal with that our employer dropped their contract. It’s eight months later and I am STILL trying to get something that should have been completely covered paid for.

UHC denied throat and voice therapy to a patient that had brain surgery with the resulting paralysis in the throat. UHC denied, ducked, weaved, ignored their own policies and acted like an insurer. After 11 months, endless phone calls and finally an angry letter from the surgeon they acquiesced. Just in time for the coverage to be nearly over. Never, never, never again with UHC.

My husband had.half his foot amputed and his prosthetics have.been ready for over a.month. unfortunately United health care is dragging its feet so he has to use a boot to get around. It is causing sores and if they get infected, it could cause him to lose his leg. Then what United health.care? I will blame you for his loss because you will not let him get his prosthetic he.so badly needs. I feel it was the doctors neglect in their network that led to his foot being amputated. Saw him for.2.5 weeks and kept telling him the foot was getting better until he.wound up with blood poisoning and septic in ER. The doctor never did a culture on his oozing wound, or even bothered to take his temperature. Almost cost him his life and no ow United Healthcare is holding his so desperately needed.prosthetics hostage! How horrible. I hope the delay doesnt cause more disfigurement

Apparently being a giant corporation doesnt mean that you are very competent. I had them before for years and had no problems, but it seems for whatever reason they are on the decline. Service was horrible and the insurance I kept getting was worse and worse. Never doing major medical with them again. Reconsidering my other insurance packages as well. Hopefully there are companies out there that treat their customers better and are more competent.

These people are much better at customer service than some of their subsidiaries or whatever they call the companies that do business through them. I tried to resolve a problem with UMR for three days, to no avail. One phone call to United Healthcare, thirty minutes later, problem solved. Great job but you should be more aware of the level of service provided by your providers.

United Healthcare made me fight ALL of my medical bills to get them covered. They always told me my doctor hadnt submitted enough information to justify something. They even tried to deny a blood test that my in-network doctor sent to an out of network lab, which is illegal. Im pretty happy with Cigna now. I dont need to spend hours fighting hours fighting my bills now.

My wife is a type one diabetic. At the drop of a hat, United has decided they are no longer covering her novolog insulin, instead saying they are on only covering humalog, which is not effective on my wife and only causes her blood sugars to get worse. Now were have to have her primary care physician send in clinical notes showing that the humalog is ineffective, just to wait for an undetermined amount of time to see if authorizing department will approve further coverage. Its absolutely monstrous that they would do this to someone who needs insulin to live. Not just function, but to live. To add insult to injury, Im paying over $500 a month (with employer assistance) for these monsters to not work with me. The blood will be on your hands, should any harm come to my wife, and I will let the world know.

I didnt know that health insurance was so adamant about keeping me unhealthy until I experienced what it was like to be a client of United Healthcare.1) Lets start with my rheumatoid arthritis:My doctors office, through many failed trials of drugs and a biologic, finally found a biologic that worked: Enbrel. My arthritis is so bad that, when untreated, I can hardly walk without feeling like Im walking in stilts with extreme pain, stumbling to walk fifteen feet to the bathroom. I cant reach into the pockets of my pants because of the joints in my hands and wrists that are stiff from extreme pain due to the slightest movement. I cannot elevate my arm past twenty degrees from my body without feeling pain in my shoulder joints.United Healthcare, knowing that I found a biologic that knocked out (95%) of the major symptoms, repeatedly denied my requests to obtain Enbrel, stating that they wanted me to experiment with other drugs (that didnt work) before they would support my Enbrel medication. They sent me a letter, denying my appeal, which caused me to suffer the above listed symptoms, so that they could experiment with my health like some animal for testing.2) If that wasnt bad enough, I am now needing a CT scan to investigate a horrible cough that Ive had for three weeks. My doctors office submitted a request for authorization on Tuesday, and on Wednesday the United Healthcare denied receiving the request, stating that it usually takes two-three days to process. After suffering enough I decided to follow up and call today (Friday) to see where I was in the process. I wasnt shocked when United Healthcare stated that THEY DIDNT EVEN START THE PROCESS because they didnt receive it, which my doctors office again confirmed that the sent it on Tuesday.United Healthcare must have me on a list to be screwed with before entertaining any thought or concern toward my health. In conclusion, my current healthcare company doesnt care about my health, and really does not care whether or not I suffer. If you are in NEED of healthcare, dont use United Healthcare, your health may suffer like mine, unnecessarily. I dont trust them, and I have to jump all the obstacles they present so that I could obtain necessary treatment. Save yourself and dont use them for the sake of your health (physical, mental, etc.).

They will tell you they will cover something, then not cover it. Its one thing to not have something covered and have them be straightforward about it, but why lie about it and say you will cover it and then deny? If I had any other option for insurance Id switch.

WHY would you not continue a contract with University of Colorado Health - especially those with Medicare Advantage? They are the largest network in Colorado and NOW, after many years of working with Doctors there - you and the University are essentially leaving your patients out in the cold. University of Colorado has even refused to see patients with a PPO plan (which means the insurance will pay for anyone who accepts Medicare) are being denied service. University of Colorado should loose all Federal Funding.
