I have never been so disappointed. They have a sign in the lobby offering help and kindness. My family sitting outside in front waiting for news of our loved one in critical condition and was told to wait in your car.! Seriously!! With all the rooms in the hospital they couldnt spare one small room to wait for family members. The family ended up moving her to another facility were OMG, they cleaned her up and made her presentable for her small children to see her. Their was such a difference in care that it was amazing to me. I will not do any of my health care there ever. i had to give a star to post but actually its minus -10

Seems like the people who work their is not updated with their current visiting policy published on their website, spent so much time inquiring visiting policy got a no answer yet their website says otherwise. There is a CDC guidelines that all hospitals are following now except Eden Hospital, no update from doctors and yet we can not visit. I work in an acute care setting and we follow CDC guidelines, please educate and update your facility

My wife delivered at Eden Medical a couple of days back. The facility, the doctors, and the nursing/support staff were all incredible and made our experience very comfortable. The nurses in the labor/delivery/post-partum department were wonderful, incredibly caring and empathetic. We called them a number of times for seemingly trivial questions/requests and were greeted by the unassuming support staff. Laura, Peggy, Cindy and Bernie - thank you for the great care you provided. Dr. Sonia and Dr. Cynthia - you’re the best. Thank you

I was injured and brought here i couldnt move at all. The person that stuck out the most was an RN named Tatiana you can tell her job helping people is her purpose in life. I cant thank her enough i noticed what she did it was short handed part of the time plus she has a beautiful ora. I think the people at the Eden are wonderful people but shout out to Tatiana shes beautiful in every way possible plus very serious about her job. Also my nurse Isfihad a great Ora you can tell he does enjoy heelping others in my eyes 5 stars all around. I hope our higher power blesses all the hands that work there! Do NOT GO Here! If could give negative stars, that would be given! Been here and as in patient yet Dr. Kevin Gardner and his secondary nurse at 11pm shift treated my loved one like a disease and threatened to call security after hours of doing nothing. Rudest Doctor. He doesn’t not deserve to be a doctor. He is ruining your facility!They kick out guardians and loved ones and you feel so helpless and cannot advocate. Their ekg was a joke and the room was dirty and my loved one sat there for less than 1 minute (that included getting hooked up) and not even laying down. They left the nodes on them. We saw Elderly and many people crying for help. If we had known they would not have done the X-ray as promised and they needed an ultrasound, we would have left. They made an IV after hours of waiting and put nothing in it. Over a month of pain, already tried medications and over the counter. They were weak, dizzy, nauseous, bleeding, pain all over, migraine and the dr visits for a couple seconds each time and was pompous and lacked understanding or emotion or empathy. The “Dr” then offers a medication they are allergic to. My loved one had to go to the bathroom in dream-like state so sick. They didn’t hook their patient back up to monitoring system. Tried to make them take Tylenol and Motrin and antibiotic, orally! They finally gave a shot for nausea but that can be put in an IV, which they already had. Why make them wait for hours for help? Their arms a few days later is still swollen and was red for over 24 hours and still hurts. We are livid! They have post head trauma and this is the only nausea medication that works and IV works fine. Nothing here during this visit, made sense. When asking for ultrasound they denied and said they were busy and the doctor was cruel and his horrible bedside manners along with his second nurse that comes in last minute claiming he knows “everything “ they are sorry the “patient feels that way”. What a sad and pathetic situation. You know how hard it is to go in and wait for hours being sick and in pain and then told to do it, again? Guess what that is what they told our loved one to do! They kept us away from our severally sick loved one and treated themLike a Port-a- potty and once done billing insurance then, they kept threatening to call security over not doing tests! How low can you go? The new nurse said they were busy and that our loved one could come back later if things were the same or got worse! Who does this in humane treatment to people? Besides, they said they were BUSY, Right? Not sending my poor precious one back there alone to the Wolf of “Dr Gardner” and his robotics stepford secondary shift nurse to just use health insurance and cause trauma in my family and threatening tone on them! That calling card of security over and over, again, is childish and not doing effective and efficient care for help. Wonder how they would react if they were in reverse roles? The AUDACITY!

Be carefull ! This hospital is full of Cdiff. If you take the antibiotic in Eden hospital, you are asking to get this debilitating disease . After you get it they will then take precautions but no warning before. Also, i have been in third world countries with a better emergency care!! Also, the coordination between the team of doctors and nurses sucks!!

Saturday night after being assaulted I was treated here, the RN in the emergency room named Kathy was very rude and mean. If a nurse lacks empathy they are in the wrong field. However the other nurses were sweet and patient with me.

My wife delivered here last week and Its our first baby. We knew that it will be a memorable experience and they never ruin it! In fact, they added some spark and smile on our faces even before we leave the hospital. We love the foods, it is pretty decent and menus are not dry. The room is spacious, clean and it is almost looks like a hotel room! The most thing that we like is the care they gave to my wife. All nurses who took care of my wife and our baby is so helpful, sweet, and hardworking! Never in my life to notice how hard the nurses job is. Besides their years spent learning of all bunch of medical things, they also knew how to take care of people out of the book like they take care of you and the baby like one of their family. Were sad because we cannot remember some of the other names who took care of my wife and baby that time but some of them are Solmaz, Evelyn, Bernie, Kirsten, Delilah, Olivia, Alicia, and Deborah. Olivia walk us through our car to make sure we put the baby car seat properly. Thats one of many things that we are talking about extra care that they gave.Our babys Pediatrician that time, Dr. Gaw knows what shes doing. In fact, you can tell how she really care to our baby like she really loves her job. Imagine how many babies she work with before ours and still never gets out of the energy she gave to our baby. We love her!And my wifes, Dr. Sylla. Definitely an OB/GYN you want to be taking care of you the rest of your life. She is really friendly and makes you very comfortable. She has a jolly personality and always smile even that their job is like a sleepless working hours.Besides all of it, some major turn off to one of the nurse that we will not name. She put IV meds on my wife with some air in it and good thing wife knows about it that it is dangerous. We know that nurse knew about the bubbles on the hose but she will not doing anything about it until my wife pointing on it. Nurse call her co-duty for some help and got solved. We understand that everyone makes mistakes but please next time be more cautious about it and dont just let it happen when you know it is dangerous.But still, everything is absolutely great! This is the only hospital we want to go to for delivery even if we didnt try the other hospital. We are already contented with everything Eden Hospital Birth Center have. THANK YOU!

The Emergency and Trauma department are terrible. They just want your insurance. They have 0 sympathy for relatives that are waiting to here about their condition. They just dont care. My husband was brought there and I dont understand exactly why, when we have Kaiser and there is a Kaiser close by. The Emergency room staff is the worst and really need training on how to speak to peope and be more compasionate. They see trauma everyday and one trauma is the same as other, but to a relative this is 1 trauma and it is the people we love. Avoid this place please.

I have been trying to get a referral for more than a month now. They first denied me service to a specialist, claiming they don’t treat patients with my diagnosis. When endocrinologist specialist are listed on the website. I have filed a complaint with their member services, and they have not been able to assist me. No one seems to take ownership on the lack of communication between the endocrinologist and OBGYN departments. They’re so quick to say “ that is not my department “ and push you to the side. This hospital staff has no empathy nor they care if you have received all the information. I have been a patient for many years, and have been happy with the care until I had to see a specialist. I’m still waiting to get this referral, and this is unacceptable.

Eden Hospital in Castro Valley is a top notch hospital. The ER is the best there is a 10 Staff and ER docters so very nice they are very smart, caring and considerat.They go out of their way to help someone.If someone needs to go to an ER Eden Hospital is the place to go they are the best

The worst hospital Ive ever been to. Im currently here and the 2 trauma nurses (Barbara and Rhodora) lack the empathy and sensitivity to work this unit. They should be working in O.R. or E.R. where the patients arent coherent or aware because they have rude personalities and dont respect patients boundaries.

50 min wait for lab. 3 people in lobby waiting. One person being called in 50 min. 3 lab techs in the back. They could care less if you wait.This is health care in America

I came here when I was in labor just last week but had visited the hospital a few times due to doctors order. Everyone was great!Every nurse is very knowledgeable and patient.I gave birth and Beverly from delivery and labor nurse who was assisting me was awesome, she made me feel like I am a family with thorough care, the anesthesiologist was great too! Upon delivery I had an older nurse who was very forgetful however she still knowledgeable and very caring. After giving birth all the nurses that catered to me Delia, Merle, Mallory and Lakeysha were the best. The inhouse pediatrician was also great! Amazing experience!

Social workers there to make discharge smooth stress free. PT helpful. Highly recommend. I was there for knee replacement surgery.

My husband was in a car accident and they were very helpful and understanding. I dont know about the billing but just hearing his VOICE and knowing he was ALIVE was more than enough for me. The nurses were very UNDERSTANDING and didnt get UPSET even though I was calling OFTEN. I believe his nurses name was BRETT and he was very polite and let me speak with my husband as soon as they were done running tests. I am very GRATEFUL for their services.

If you will not die from waiting times, the charges and the bill might kill you. Somehow Sutter Health manages to make medical care worse than a disease. Im glad I have an insurance, from my workspace.

I am always treated with respect and professionalism. Good medical teams from the food service workers to the cleaners, nurses, doctors X-ray tech all the technicians. I was well taken care of when my life was in the balance. I appreciate everything that hospital has done for me and my family. God bless them all!

Had both my kids here. The place was very clean & the staff was amazing. Every nurse asked can I get you anything like they truly meant it. They all seemed to love their jobs & it comes out in their work.Im so sad I cant have my 3rd baby here because they do not do VBACs.

I wish I could give no stars. This is the worst ER Ive ever been too. I literally had to leave and go to another ER. I have a migraine condition from rape and have to get medicine to deal with the pain from my fractures in my skull. My nurse Mandy called me a drug addict and I received no help what so ever. I checked out and went to another ER so I could get help. Go anywhere but here! It is a dirty place with crocked employees. These workers shouldnt be in the medical field, because they have no understanding of the Hippocratic oath.

I had an excellent experience with Eden Medical Center. Jennifer Simpson (no relation 2 Bart Simpson) and the TEAM at Eden Medical Center did a fantastic job addressing all my medical problems. My father had come of a coma, so he was feeling groggy. Because of that, he was a little more challenging to cooperate with his nurse. While we were watching TV, my father could hear her very clearly complaining about him. He called her in to apologize, but I made him not to. She said she needed to vent. While Im not angry she spoke about what was causing her stress, I am angry she did it right outside his room with his door wide open. I wish I remembered her name or filed a complaint. So, keep an ear out for these types of nurses.

Worse experience ever in this Emergency.I was refer here from an Urgent Care and the whole staff except the girl who draw blood from me was rude (not to me but to other people).These was more patients here then they can take in and I was kept waiting for above 3 hours and wasnt seen by a doctor and when I complain and asked when will I be seen I was told that I only have been here for 2:40 hours there is patient how have been waiting for over 4 hours (like its a contest or a good thing to say!)I had a heart attack symptoms and was refer to them from an Urgent Care that means I need help and they kept telling me you look good as you can stand so we always going to priorities other patients over you.The place smells very bad I am not sure if the facility wasnt clean or some of the patients smells really bad.Overall I am not going to this place again and dont recommended it for anyone just continue driving for 10min in any direction and you will found another ER hopefully its better.

Its a regular normal hospital, like one might expect. Ive also taken my mom to their new urgent care, and was happy. Mostly good experiences and outcomes with people I took there. (I myself go to Kaiser)

As we were escorted to a room for a family member, I could hear a Caucasian female nurse talking to a colleague making a racist remark. Because of our last name, I could hear her say, Gutierrez? I hope they speak English. That is an exact quote. There werent any other Hispanic patients at that moment, so the odds of her speaking about someone else is extremely thin. It doesnt matter if she was speaking of someone else, in a hospital environment, it shouldnt have been said. As a nurse, racism needs to be kept to oneself.

Our family member has been attended to 24 /7 since 2-01-13 by the absolute best teams in any hospital I have ever been in! From ER to ICU. Our family has prayed for everyone who had anything to do with Eden Medical Center from construction to CEO and everyone in between to be blessed to help our loved one recover as best he can .We have had no complaints from ER to ICU and surgery!

My mother is 80 yrs old u would never think so she had a very bad cough we got to eden hospital around 8:30 or maybe 9:00 pm on friday nite on june 21 didnot get his name but he was kinda maybe short well not to short kinda stocky Caucasian man well nurse i suppose he treated my mother so nice and should so much care for her.her name is juliette acosts and im her daughter victoria acosta i just would like to give credit where credit is earned he took her in asap and helped us to have a very good visit and made me feel comterble in fact all the nurses and the DR.treated us like they really cared and thats wat matters THANKYOU ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Im surprised to see such poor reviews. My mom was flown here back in 2011 from a valley hospital. They took such good care of my mom.. she did pass away but no fault of the hospital.. the staff was great. Now I have been waiting almost 8 years for my moms medical records.. have familiar disease we need for my cousin to do a pulmonary fibrosis study since my mom and all her siblings died from this disease. Gave up calling a few years back..

Eden medical center does nothing but waste your time and its sad that they cannot help you relieve your pain all they do is admit you to bill your insurance. I am 8 months pregnant they told me I have the flu but yet sent me home within an hour because they needed to room another patient. They nurses was very unaware of me and never really checked on me for anything. My iv was jammed into my arm it was so painful. Im leaving still in pain they have me tylenol my cousin. Came here and they told her the same but she ended up losing her baby because they couldnt help her. Im so nervous I am however going to alta bates they services are much better. I would recommend to go elsewhere

Beautiful hotel, sub par staff. Dont trust your loved ones alone with them. Night crew especially bad. I stayed the night and was very comfortable, glad I did because their patient care is brutal.

Im not gone say all rn nurses dont care about the patients on the 5th. floor remember you have mothers and grandmothers also so what you put out will be the same you will get back understand your job need staff meetings on customer service, respect to patients that are on there death beds.

We called over the phone for results for a child. They were very rude even though a childs health was at stake. The actual visit was great but our experience over the phone was not so great.

My sister has been here since October 1st admitted with pneumonia. She is only here now because we cant find a long term facility.Here are my concerns, since her stay she has developed not one, but two stage two pressure sores, she has loss 42 lbs, she will not gain this back, she has ALS. She has orders to be fed thru her feeding tube 3x a day, the nurses have missed her feeding at 9 am every time! She gets her formula twice a day. Last night they brought her pureed food in at 6pm and said a CNA would be in to feed her, at 9pm her nurse came in, seen the food sitting there and offered to feed her. My sister declined due to it sitting for 3 hours. My sister is completely immobile. No use of hands or legs, she communicates with her tablet. Ive personally have spoken to Sarah, the lady in charge of the floor when my sister felt they gave her too much pain relief medication, concern of pressure sores, and merely using wipes to clean my sister, never given a real sponge bath. Since Friday, they left my sister in feces over night and Sunday the nurse forgot to reconnect her catheter and she urinated all over herself. How humiliating, what about the patients dignity. I am not saying all the nurses are incompetent, have no compassion for their patients, or just plain dont care. It seems to happen during the evening shift when family isnt there . I hope by writing this someone will investigate and give my sister the care they are responsible for giving. No patient should be stripped of their respect and dignity.

I was rushed to EDEN of all days April 1st 2018. Im a 69 yr old disabled Lady that was in a coma, was dying, was put on Life Support almost given up for dead. BLESS THEIR HEARTS, THE WHOLE TEAM IN THE SPECIAL EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT SAVED MY LIFE. THE NURSES THAT TOOK CARE OF ME, THE PHYSICAL THERAPIST AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST THAT TOOK EXCEPTIONAL CARE OF ME, GOT ME UP WALKING ON NON WILLING LEGS. IM FOREVER GRATEFUL THERE ARE NO WORDS TO EXPRESS MY FEELINGS, GRATITUDE, AND HEARTFELT THANKS FOR THEM ALL. THEY DID NOT GIVE UP ON THIS SENIOR CITIZEN. Im still very scared by what happened and what could happen. To think I could not be here now WOW. I am BLESSED, a Christian with faith, even more now, and my Pastor Bob Reinhardt and the elders at Church and friends were there for me. GOD BLESS and a THANK YOU to them all. This hospital is the worst in the bay area. I came in back to back nights because i fell down because of nerve damage in my back from tailbone surgery I was also bleeding out from my balls. They brought me back didnt even give me a gown and let me bleed all night and sent me home with narcos. They didnt even clean up the blood. They all sit on their ass on the computer and dont help anybody. The female nurses flirt with the EMTs and chat about their weekends. If i was dying i would have died. Dont bring anybody here save yourself the hassle.BEWARE!!!THIS HOSPITAL DOESNT CARE ABOUT ANY OF THEIR PATIENTS OR PEOPLE THAT NEED HELP!!!!!!

Its A Newly Redone Hospital Its Beautiful Went There For A Seminar, And The Staff And My Surgeon Was Very Nice

Eden Medical Center is a hospital I took my father-in-law there for a surgical situation and they had to be broken up buy laser so I waited in the waiting room as he was being worked on and they were being surgically removed or broken up everything went well and Recovery went well had no problems with his recovery at all the doctor was very friendly kept me informed of what was going on and then I kept my mother-in-law informed I would recommend this place anybody with a medical problem

I went there a couple if years ago and was admitted for pnuemonia. They did take me right back, no waiting although they make you feel like cattle. They were so rough and aggressive when taking off my clothes they injured my right shoulder. Then at the end of my stay the doctor came in and proceeded to tell me my chest xrays were abnormal and that I needed to follow up with someone because it looks like I have cancer bye.Would NEVER recommend and will NEVER go back!!! I will always make the drive to Valley Care or Stanford so my regular doctors and specialists can check on me, as they always do love them.

Very rude, unprofessional ICU unit. Called to check on my brother was hung up 2x when finally got through to his nurse she was really rude asked her how my brother was doing and asked a few questions she didnt want to answer and told me why am I asking so many questions I told her that I myself is in the medical field after she shut up a few seconds then told me shes gotta go cause shift change. So disappointed after my last visit to the er. I’ve been going to eden since I was a little girl and I’ve trusted them for so long. I usually go during the night & All the staff are usually very sweet and caring. I got the flu a few months ago and had to go to the er very early one morning. The wait was around an hour and a half to two hours. I wasn’t complaining because they seemed to be super busy that day. The receptionist in the front was very nice but that was about it. I was taken into one the exam rooms and was taken care of by 2 of the nurses. They took my temperature again and just gave me tylanol. I asked if I could just take one first because I’m not a huge fan of acetometaphin since Ive been trying to be more healthy on my liver and she flat out just said no. She then brought in the flu test and without any warning, stuck the qtips so far up my nose it hit the very top. Usually nurses do this carefully and are at least talk you through it. I never use to get nose bleeds but now I do & the very inside of my nose has been hurting ever since. She was the meanest lady. After all the tests, both nurses just walked out of the room talking about me. I felt a lot of hate from them maybe because I tried to refuse to take both tylanol. I waited about an hour for my test results, waited for my prescription then left. Worse experience ever. Won’t be going back to Eden for a while.

Brought my son to ER because we thought something was still stuck in his eye after flushing them out at home. Went in on Memorial Day weekend and got in right away by surprise. But, once we got in our room, we were waiting over an hour. People kept telling us the doctor was coming. But, in the end, the Physician Assistant took care of us. He put dye drops in my sons eyes and then held an ultra violet light to check for scratches.

I called this office and what terrible experience. I do not think, I will ever refer this office to someone. They treat you like the lowest class person. Stay away.

I wait almost 2 hour in Emergency room and doctor came just for 5 minutes and didn’t check properly. I spend more than 4 hours over there.

On a search for a primary care physician, I tried calling the phone number listed on UHCs website. I made 3 attempts and on all 3, I got Sorry, Eden Hospitalist Group is not available. For a medical facility to not have a live person receiving calls, I looked at this as a very bad sign. I will continue my search for another facility.

They were worse than useless on something extremely serious. I went in a week after getting bit by a tick. They stopped treatment after two weeks even though I was developing symptoms. As soon as the antibiotics stopped my life ground to a halt. Just two and a half weeks later, I started falling asleep in public, getting shooting pains, and my brain started to go (I misspell words, forget where Im going.) I could barely eat and lost 5.6 lbs in one week. I just wanted to rest and drink fluids. Theres also a cough that started 10 days after being bit, from lymph draining into my throat.Lyme can attack any part of the body and can be fatal.Im going to need more aggressive treatment than I would have and will probably have to take IV antibiotics because Sutter Eden dropped the ball. Theres also the chance now that I wont be able to get rid of it. My new doctor says I may not be able to drive for awhile . Thanks, Sutter Eden!The followup doctor at Sutter Eden had not listened when I told her I had been developing symptoms. She boasted about having been at an Ivy League School when Lyme was discovered but she was ignorant. She said it was not lyme because the rash was not big. She said Ive never seen anything like it, its nothing to worry about. Not that shed ever seen a case before! (She was no good as a Faith Healer either.) I felt so helpless, was so angry! My bug bite had looked like an online picture of an infected bite. The doctors at Sutter shrugged off my persistant cough, aches and mild headaches and refused to test my blood for infection. I asked for a different doctor but they refused. They were hoping to give me patent thyroid pills instead. You know, something I would have to take for the rest of my life, for a fictitious problem, without ever getting healthy. Like a crooked mechanic only worse.My new doctor, a naturopath, says it looks like a textbook case of lyme. Some people get the big rash but some get a little mark like me and most never notice getting bitten.Naturopaths got licensed in 2005 but are not yet covered by insurance. If you are sick and have been unable to find help, look into herbal antibiotics. You can probably find an excellent book at the library about using them to treat lyme.Herbal antibiotics are a drug of choice when drug resistance is an issue or for extended use. You can buy them without a prescription. We are using a combination of antibiotics at once, both prescription and non-prescription. Chronic cases need more help, including anti-inflammatory herbs for one. Its a tough bug to kill, but dont give up!Another time there was a bug that just wouldnt go away, we just kept coughing on each other. Finally a Jesuit Priest visited and did a healing mass and after that it was gone.I was Pre-med and graduated with Honors but was advised to be an engineer instead because I was too smart to be a Doctor. I ended up managing huge software projects. I feel that Sutter Eden dropped the ball again by not calling me after I posted my bad review. They apparently have no quality control. This review has been updated so the date is later than when I first posted.Stopping treatment and letting the bug get an edge on the antibiotics like they did helps the bacteria develop drug-resistance and might have made it more aggressive. Im refusing payment to Sutter Eden and have asked my insurance to pay them only $30 since the only service provided was the initial prescription and I had to do all the thinking.

This ER charges over $4,000 for a 30 minute visit with a urine test and a prescription of basic over the counter pain medication.If you have an emergency, look elsewhere, there is no transparency in their billing, and the wait times are as long as a county hospital.

Last November 2014 my mother was admitted to ICU for 1 - 2 weeks she had excellent care and just 4 days ago I went to the emergency for kidney stones and again had wonderful treatment/service, since its become Sutter the care has been great.

This is worst place to go. They changing your appointment as they wish. They cancelled my appts three times. And every time I take time off from work it gets wasted coming here.

Dont have a florist deliver flowers to this hospital. The employees will steal them before they get to the patients room. Youve been warned. $135 down the drain. It happened to me!

Directions to this place is wrong. Maps tells you to go from Stanton, but thats wrong, you have to enter from Lake Chabot Rd side.
