I recently moved and decided to try a new vet. I took my mini dachshund to Sherlock Bones and was not disappointed! I didnt think I could love a vet clinic more than the one I have used for both of my pets for years, but I was blessed by the staff at Sherlock Bones! Not only was it easy to schedule an appointment, everyone was amazing and they even followed up on Vienna the following day. Love it!

The vet techs and doctor at Sherlock Bones are awesome!!!! My kitty is doing so much better after just one appointment, when her previous vet gave us no treatment and very little information about her condition and how to help her. They were kind and loving on her the whole appointment, and Dr explained every detail to me. I will be scheduling checkups for my other two cats here as well!! Scheduling is easy, they are very responsive to emails, and the price compared to my old vet is great!

I just moved to Carmel and gave this place a try with my two cats. Sherlock Bones definitely exceeded my expectations! The check-in process was very efficient and I hardly had to wait for the vet tech or the vet, which was wonderful for my anxious cats! It’s very obvious staff genuinely loves cats and this isn’t just a job for them! Many vet places try to “nickel and dime” you for tests and services that your pet may not necessarily need, so I greatly appreciate the transparency and honesty with Sherlock Bones. Additionally, they send out text messages checking up on your pet after the visit! Highly recommend!!!

Sherlock Bones takes great care of our 3 year old yellow lab. They are gentle with her, fit us in right away if our need is urgent, and are reasonably priced. I am confident we get the best care possible at Sherlock Bones for this important, furry family member.

My poor pup, Kylo, had a pretty bad cough and no other vets in the Carmel area could see him. Luckily, Sherlock Bones had availability and were able to see him within a few hours of me calling. Both the vet tech and Dr. Nix were WONDERFUL with Ky. They made sure he was comfortable before trying anything with him. I really appreciated their responsiveness and caring attitude!

Another vet refused to anesthetize a dog as old as mine. They also said if they did remove the cyst from his eyelid, he would lose part of the lid. Dr. Nix examined the boy, did blood work, and determined he was healthy enough for surgery. Now the cyst is gone, the eyelid whole if a bit snug, and the teeth clean. Were also using Dr. Nixs formula for aging joints. Its early days, but he is seeming more confident on walks. This is going to be our vet.

I have taken my dogs here for 8 years. My first dog a pug was treated like a queen there and the tradition has continued. They are friendly, professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable! Highly recommend Sherlock Animal Hospital.

We have been going to Sherlock Bones for the past few months. My dog was given so much attention and love when she went. After my dog got spayed they sent messages checking in on her and answered all of my questions with patience and a smile. We cannot recommend Sherlock Bones enough and will be customers for years to come!

Sherlock Bones has been taking care of our pups for over 5 years now and we’ve continued to be impressed with their honesty, transparency, and diligence to ensure our pups stay happy and healthy. We recently lost one of our pups and I was so impressed how they took our concerns to heart, completed a thorough analysis, and were there to cry with us when we had to put him down. Following his death they sent us flowers which was the sweetest gesture and something I have not seen from other vets. They have several methods to help provide a comprehensive health plan at an affordable cost for pups of any age which we’ve been very satisfied with. We haven’t thought twice about taking our boys to Sherlock Bones and I’m certain we’ll be bringing any new family members to them as well. We’ve also enjoyed having grooming services on site which allows us to get the boys cleaned up but also up to date on their vaccinations or be seen for any concerns at the same time. As both of us work, the team makes it simple for us to get so much accomplished during one visit.

Tried several places before finding Sherlock Bones. We went because of proximity and reviews, but stayed because the are so good with our little pups. We have since moved a good bit away but still make the drive to see all the folks here. Great vets, great staff!!

The entire staff made Fanny feel very comfortable right from the start. This is pretty impressive because Fanny has been kindly asked to leave several grooming appointments throughout her life.She is very aggressive when getting groomed, so sedation is necessary. However, even in the lobby talking to the receptionists, Fanny is much calmer than she was at her previous groomer. One plus is that the groomer actually speaks to you and thoroughly determines what you want. Added to that is the fact that they are about $90 less expensive than the previous groomer!Ive only used the grooming services, so I cant speak for clinical side of it, but I have had nothing but good experiences so far.

This place is amazing! The staff is so kind, and I were happy to get me in quickly when my other vet cancelled an appointment for my diabetic kitty. They made me feel at ease, and Im officially switching to Sherlock Bones.

The staff here are amazing! My 6 month old Australian Labradoodle, Cheese, LOVES going to the vet and groomer, and loves the staff! Rachel made Cheese feel comfy with the grooming process, which is a big deal when you are starting out with your fur baby. I also left Cheese with Sherlock Bones for boarding for two nights, and he was a happy puppy when I picked him back up. Not anxious, just happy to see his people, and happy to have been there! Highly recommend.

The staff was helpful, polite, and my appointment was on time.

DVM was very personal as was the staff. We’ve had other pets there and were very happy with the service we received. The thing that surprised us was the $5.00 a paw to clip our 13 week old kittens claws. We use to get that complimentary.

My 6 month old Australian Labradoodle, Cheese, loves going to Sherlock Bones! The front desk staff are amazing, and the staff are terrific, too. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is grooming. Cheese had a full cut the last time he went in, and he has a nice cut with the exception of his neck and around his mouth, which really needed it. I was able to trim his “beard” at home. But for $95 (I didn’t know it would be this expensive for Cheese, which doesn’t include the tip), I would have appreciated having his “beard” trimmed. Would still highly recommend!!!!

Ive been taking my dog to Sherlock Bones for since 2015 when she was a puppy and after todays experience, I would not recommend them. Sherlock Bojes offers a program called PetCare Plus, not insurance but helps offset the cost of exams, vaccines and other things. I knew our PetCare plus was set to expire at the end of the the month and I decided not to renew it because Im moving 2 hours north and will find a local vet. In todays visit for a flu shot booster, the assistant informed me my dog was due for her annual vaccines soon and if I wanted to take care of them today. I said sure, I have the PetCare, but its set to expire at the end of the month. Is it still covered. I was told yet. Upon checkout, I was presented with a bill. Apparently the PetCare plus has annual limits for services and Id have to renew it to be covered. Now if I knew that up front, I wouldnt have accepted the vaccines shots. Julie,, the clinic manager stepped in and said the assistant was new and probably didnt understand what I was asking. Explain to me how this is my fault that she wasnt trained properly. Julie offered no help to the situation and left the blame on me. I look forward to hearing from Dr. Nix who will hopefully make this right.

Excellent attention to detail.

Our 9 year old Bichon Frise recently started having a lot of trouble and pain with his back right leg. We made an appointment with another veterinarian who told us that his problem was caused by Luxating patella and that a $3000-$5000 surgery would be our only option to fix it. After doing some internet research and feeling really defeated about not being able to afford the cost of surgery, I emailed Sherlock Bones to get a second opinion. They quickly set me up with an appointment with Dr. Kacocha. She gave him a thorough exam and determined that an x-ray should be done in order to see the extent of the injury. She was very upfront about the cost of an x-ray and was able to get it done during the same visit. She explained that the pain he was experiencing was from arthritis from an old ligament tear. She confirmed that he did also have Luxating patella, but that the pain that he was experiencing was most likely the ligament tear and not as much from the Luxating Patella. She then prescribed some pain medicine and a vitamin mixture to help with the arthritis. She said that currently we didnt need to worry about the surgery unless his condition got a lot worse! I cannot recommend this vet office enough! It was well worth my money and time! She made us feel like we had options if we couldnt afford the cost of surgery (which he didnt even end up needing). I recommend this vet office to anyone who feels like they might have limited options for their pets treatment!

The staff at Sherlock Bones are sweet and always so welcoming and happy to see our dogs. They were very compassionate during the loss of our previous dog as well. Our pups are well cared-for and several of the staff are very aware of the specific issues whippets can experience.

I took Gretchen, a 12 year old Rat Terrier for a check up and to have her assessed for teeth cleaning. Gretchen has lots of digestive issues- picky eater, intermittent diarrhea, licking the floor, etc. We had a very thorough assessment with a plan of care that sounds like it may help her- with Dr. Carolyn Kokocha. She did some blood work and found some abnormal labs and is going to address those issues also. If we can get her diet and her labs improved, I’ll be very pleased with the results of the visit. I really dont mind trips to the vet. Everyone is so nice and they greet and love on my puppy like he was their own. That speaks volumes!

The staff is always very responsive and friendly. I needed to get updated meds for my dog prior to taking him somewhere for grooming and they always got me in same day at a moments notice.

These people do not care about animals, they only care about how much money they get. Charged me for a lot for an issue that only stared after i had my cat spayed with them. Not an honest company.

It was just annual shots this time, but they have always been available when I needed them.

My pet gets great care from everyone at Sherlock Bones. We moved out of the Carmel area and found a new vet closer to our home. We were not satisfied and came back to Sherlock Bones. I took my cat to Allison, the groomer, for the first time. Not only the first time at SB - but to a groomer period. I was extremely nervous about anyone messing with my cat at all. Allison was truly amazing!! Her personality even calmed me down! My cat came home with a beautifully groomed coat and didn’t seem traumatized at all! Thank you, Allison! And, thank you to the wonderful staff that helped me at the front desk! I will definitely be going back as a client with my three cats.

Incredible staff, kind and friendly. Everyone makes us feel like our pup is the most important thing in the world to them. Our pup actually enjoys going to the vet because of how well they treat him. We will continue to go to Sherlock Bones as long as we live in Indianapolis.

Rachel the groomer was marvelous!! My dog looked great and was not stressed at all.

Rosie and Izzy seemed very happy there! Rosie is always good, but Izzy not so much! I think we will like it here-we were with our other vet for 20 years, but they just got too expensive.

The appointment was scheduled quickly and at a convenient time. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating and they were very gentle with our dog. And the treatment they provided has helped him. He feels a lot better.Great place!

Our dog required an emergency treatment at the time of closing. Upon calling their office on 116 street, the doctor and her staff immediately told us to come and they stayed until her problem solved.We have been with them for the past 18 years and we never had any issues.Thank you for all your wonderful work.

Since moving here from Minnesota, I was concerned finding a place that is compassionate with managing a large dog who barks extensively and is very anxious going to a vet. All the staff are extremely kind and try to make him feel as comfortable as possible. They do a great job at following up with any needed services and check up to see how my dog is doing. I highly recommend this clinic.

Always a great experience. Everyone genuinely cares about you and your pet. Exams are thorough and the explanations for things to monitor help me take better care of my dog. All the doctors are great and staff/assistants are friendly and thoughtful.

An amazing experience with our pug, Bondi! They take great care of her and us. They call and check in the next day which is such a nice touch. We highly recommend this vet!

The staff are incredibly kind and caring. It is quick and easy to make an appointment and they are almost always on time. I don’t ask for a specific vet per appointment because they have all been great and know everything about my dog.

Today was the day that made me say “I’m done with this place”. My pet needed shots back in March and I held it off due to the pandemic because I have a son who was born with a respiratory disease so for his safety I held off going to public places. Fast forward to today (June 20th 2020) I got shots for my dog. I had called a week prior to ask if I could do curbside because I do not want to be around any people and I was told that I could. When I came to the parking lot I called like I was told to but I was not able to do curbside I was told i had to come inside. So I came inside and explained to the receptionist how my son is high risk and I really don’t want to be around anybody and I don’t want to touch anything which she was understanding and she wore a face mask when she was around me (thank you for that). As I waited for the tech to grab my dog for shots I asked if I could pay and wait in my car and have them bring my dog out - she said yes. So they took my dog and I went to the receptionist to pay but was told I couldn’t bc she didn’t get the invoice to do so. As I waited (in the corner of the facility) The reception asked me questions about my high-risk son and I explain to her precautions that we’ve been taking during this pandemic. The receptionist look to another girl in the same room and asked her if she could put her mask on and the girl said “I only put my mask on when I’m talking to people”. It was the most ignorant thing to me... Here I am talking about how covid would be death to my 8 month old child and you could careless to wear the mask that is literally around your chin for the 5-10 min I waited for my dog... it’s not the first time I’ve dealt with rude staff here. Another woman had said my dog was ugly in front of me (your profession is working with animals... how do you even say that in front of a client..?) I Solely go to this establishment because of the convenience it is for me to drive from my house to there but I will no longer be coming here.

Great first visit! Everyone was super friendly and worked well with the dogs to try and ease their fears of being at a vet. The Dr. was very personable and did a great job working with two big dogs. His advice on treatment options for (heart-worms and fleas/ticks) and also toys best to help clean their teeth was very helpful. Am glad I switched to Sherlock Bones.

Took my granddog to Sherlock Bones No. 29th; she had received a deep puncture wound the night before and we needed to have it checked. They got us in at the last minute and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The facility was super clean and the employees were so friendly and kind; Dr. Mark was very helpful. We left with detailed care instructions and peace of mind.

Beginning with the front office staff - Kris and Cookie - and on to the veterinarians and assistants - Drs Carolyn, Graves and Nix and Megan and Kathy - and including the surgical staff and others I haven’t met or mentioned - I’ve been so satisfied and so grateful for the care they’ve provided to my pets. Their genuine care and concern combined with their skill has recently meant so much to me and my Goldens!

We love this veterinary office! We have three small dogs and I always feel like the doctors and staff are completely welcoming and patient with all of them. We use the PetCare plans so that we can budget out their regular care and its so nice to have that option. Thankfully, weve had very few emergencies, but the one time I had a concern, they fit us in right away!

Dr Nix and the staff are very friendly, took time to listen to our concerns, and they were great with our German Shepherd. They made him feel comfortable and loved and our dog trusted them, (which takes a lot because he does not trust just antone). So a great thanx to the staff and Dr Nix. We have found a vet.

We have been taking our dog to Sherlock Bones since 2005. We took a 5 year sabbatical because we moved, but we were excited to return. The staff provides great care and knows us by name. We have boarded our dog, use the groomer on a regular basis (Allison is great), and have had surgery at Sherlock Bones. The staff always calls to check up after we visit. I really appreciate the care and love they show my pet.

Best in Carmel! Highly recommended! Dr. Ealing is very knowledgeable and takes the time to fully exam pets without rushing through and he explains things clearly. Emily is efficiently amazing and really makes you and your dog feel welcome. They are upfront about costs and completely understand being on a budget. Rather than trying to sell products or plans, they actually focus on the issue at hand. Their prices are competitive and affordable and wait times are nonexistent. If youre looking for a new vet, this is the one! Your dog will thank you!

We moved here from out of state and our 17 year old cat got very ill. The staff and vets here are great, and took good care of US, and our baby. He had to stay overnight a few nights and the facilities here are clean and caring. They even sent a pic of Bucky while he was there because I missed him!.... Highly recommend

We absolutely love and trust Dr. Nix and Amber! We have four dogs ; two Pits and two Shitzu’s. Sadly, we have had to do surgery on two of our guys, but the good news is, we leave them in knowledgeable, compassionate, trusted hands! When I have a question or concern about one of the guys, Amber goes out of her way to get me the answer and advise before having to bring them in. Always seems to do the right thing for the pups without price gouging and unnecessary tests and procedures! Love this veterinarian and staff! Especially Amber and Dr. Nix! So I went here for a check-up for my rabbit, the vet and assistants were very helpful and answered all of my questions. The reason I am giving 3 stars is because they quoted me over 300 dollars to spay my rabbit, which is ridiculous and I cancelled the appointment. I found a place in Evansville called the Vanderburgh Humane Society that does it for 75 dollars for males and females! This hospital needs to lower their prices, its unfair to owners who care about their animals health but have to spend an arm and a leg for it.

We switched over from another Vet, and very happy we did. Great staff, reasonable prices, highly recommend.

Very happy with Sherlock. Dr Paul is very thorough and pleasant to talk with. Very caring and thoughtful. Emily and Rebecca are very knowledgeable and so very considerate. They help me get my aging arthritic dog in the car for me since it is quite difficult for me due to her size and my back problems, sometimes coming out to meet me when I arrive!

The staff here is really caring and they always take extra care of my dogs and always follow up to make sure they are okay after the visit.

I tried this vet clinic as my current vet was 30 minutes away and I wanted to find another place closer to home. Initially, I was very happy with the service. They get you in the door with a free exam but I have found that after that, it really felt like a money grab.This place is overpriced. The ran extra and unauthorized tests to run up the bill. I had exams where the doctor didnt note what we talked about then forgot. I sent previous veterinary records the vet didnt even review. Although customer service was good during my initial visits, the last year the front office staff was rude and not helpful. Nobody ever called with lab results, I had to call them.When I see inconsistencies, I am suspicious and this place is real good with marketing and putting on a front but I saw red flags.....Like including the lack of attention to detail such as no notes about the meds my dog was on during the January exam-no calls about results of blood work-and lack of helpfulness that make me not trust this place. Where there is smoke,there is fire and with the lack of attention to detail on record keeping and dishonesty, no way would I trust my dog there-they simply dont put the dogs first and are in it for the money.

I have been going to Sherlock Bones since 2013 when we got our first cat. When I got a puppy in 2015 I started bringing him here as well.The staff is absolutely wonderful, especially Dr. Paul. My dog has had severe allergies in the past week that were progressively getting worse and worse. I called right before closing on Wednesday very concerned and Dr. Paul stayed after closing and waited for me to drive the 30 minutes to the office to treat Kingston.The medicine he put him on has cleared everything up very quickly and hes doing much better. I cant say enough great things about the wonderful staff and will continue to drive out of the way to go to Sherlock Bones.

We visited Sherlock Bones with our Irish Setter for the first time and met Dr. Mark Graves. He was very patient with the dog and took time to get to know the dog. Dr. Graves fully explained the diagnosis and following treatment. We highly recommend Dr.Graves and the clinic.

Have seen and Dr Paul and Dr Nix and received professional consultation from both. Both (and Emily and Megan) are patient and take time to explain to my daughter (the pack leader!) whats happening and why. Thank you all.

Very few places groom cats, and got lucky to get referred by petco. I loved that I could come in early before I went to work to dropp my cat off. They asked me in detail services I wanted for my cat and really cared. I also got a welcome card in the mail from the office staff that was a nice gesture and goes a long way in my book. My cat looks great very impressed with how he looks and smells good too. Thanks again for doing a great job from office to groomer both.

AWESOME! They are more like family than just vets. From our ancient cats to our kittens, they have cared for all with kindness and compassion every step along the way. Dr. Paul obviously cares very much about each and every one of his patients.
