My mouth was an absolute wreck when I was first seen by LCDE. I had a lot of previous dental work done that had failed and wasn’t done to quality. Dr. Piper was incredibly patient helped me feel comfortable and completely free of judgement.Doc is full of knowledge, she took the time to explain the work I needed done on a level that no other dentist had.I have had my entire mouth almost completely reconstructed by Dr. Piper and couldn’t be happier. I haven’t smiled this big in years. The three docs in the office work amazingly well together and are constantly utilizing each other’s knowledge and years of expertise.No extraordinary pain and no issues they have had to go in and fix. Dental anxiety is real and crippling. Now that I’ve been seen here my anxiety doesn’t keep me out of the chair. I know the team will take amazing care of me every time.Absolutely love this practice and would highly recommend them to anyone needing a new dentist.

After a couple months of some really bad dental work from another company I found La Costa Dental Excellence. I was really worried about seeing another dentist but they immediately made me feel comfortable and welcome. As someone without insurance, they were so helpful with making payments manageable. I would first like to say how amazing the La Costa Dental Excellence team is from the second you step foot into the door until you leave you feel taken care of and you feel like you have been a patient for years.I am recently a new patient and I came in with a front cracked tooth, Dr. Stephen Dankworth explained there were more options than previous dental consultations, I was told I would have to walk around without my front tooth for weeks by other dental offices. In a matter of a few hours I left the office with my cracked tooth taken care of and a new smile I was absolutely happy with.I have had many dental visits over my lifespan and did not know you could get a shot to numb your mouth without the pain associated with it but Dr. Stephen Dankworth knows how to do this, I felt nothing, I was amazed and could not believe it.I highly recommend the La Costa Dental Excellence Team, you will not be disappointed.

I had the best experience with Dr. Dankworth and his staff today. I had major discoloration on one of my front teeth due to some old bonding. I saw another dentist earlier this year who could not fix the discoloration and in fact made it worse. Dr. Dankworth did an incredible job of matching my bonding to the surrounding teeth and reshaping the tooth so it looks completely natural. I can’t stop smiling!

Dr. Kimber Corrigan-Dankworth Is an exceptional Dentist. She is very knowledgeable in her craft, easy to speak with and I just felt completely at ease from the second I met her. I lost a front tooth many years ago and had a bridge. After a while I found myself super-gluing it back in monthly. I finally had enough. Praise God I found La Costa Dental Excellence! Dr. Stephen Dankworth has changed my life in a profound way because of his experience in dealing with what Ill call dental POWs who have experienced dental torture from past dentists. Dr. Dankworth is a MASTER at giving local anesthesia (shots in your mouth)... I felt almost nothing and he was able to get me numb where a number of other dentist could not or would not. One dentist got so upset that he couldnt get me numb he just drilled into my nerve with no local anesthetic! So I was extremely nervous about getting 5 crowns! It only takes one bad dentist to destroy the confidence in all dentists and it takes only one (Dr. Dankworth) to restore that confidence. I will forever be changed because of his excellence and his true care for his patients. I have no words to convey the relief and sense of peace I now have of visiting the dentists. THANK YOU Dr. Dankworth! I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I couldn’t recommend La Costa Dental Excellence more. From the staff at the front desk, to the hygienist, dental assistants, and Dr. Corrigan herself, everyone is so friendly, helpful, and most of all really puts you at ease! I recently went in for a cleaning and some fillings and they are doing a great job taking all the percussions necessary with Covid and then some! I had the absolute best experience with Dr Dankworth!!! I avoid going to dentist at all cost but I was referred by someone I trusted to see Dr. Dankworth. I had to have my front tooth replaced with a porcelain tooth. That meant getting multiple shots under the roof of my mouth and above my front tooth, which was incredibly scary and was incredibly painful by the last dentist I went to. I can honestly, unequivocally say that I didnt even feel the shots! I cant even believe thats the case but its 100% true. I will never go to another dentist again only to see Dr Dankworth!!!! Such a great experience! I came in for a general cleaning and X-rays and have found my new dentist office! The entire staff greeted me with warm smiles and kindness, and the whole time they all helped me out the whole time. During the x-rays (which are never a comfortable experience) the dental assistant performing them made sure that I wasnt in pain or in any discomfort. They explained everything in detail so that I was able to understand what was going on with my teeth. Overall such a great experience and I would totally suggest this place to anyone who needs a dentist!

Sandra bleached my teeth, and she makes you SO comfortable during the entire process. They will do everything in their power to ensure you are happy with your results. My experience at La Costa Dental Excellence has been by far the best I’ve ever had and has exceeded my expectations! I was someone who was afraid to go to the dentist and put it off for some time. Being someone who needed a lot of work done I am so thankful that they offer a sedation option. It made all the work I needed done so much more easy and Dr. Dankworth has done an amazing job. I have a tremendous fear of dentistry, dating back 45 years when I tripped and broke my front teeth up to the nerve. Years and years of treatment to repair those teeth, the bone and and the gums have been excruciatingly painful. I cannot get numb; regardless of how many shots I get. For that reason, Ive had very limited dental work over the years, and what I have had done has been very painful. Recently, my 20+ year old bridge gave out. I searched and searched for a dentist. Ive read dozens of reviews looking specifically for compassionate dental staff and excellence in dental work. I am so grateful to say I found both with La Costa Dental Excellence. They are so patient, so compassionate and understanding. Sandra Lopez, my dental assistant is an angel. She talks with me, not to me. She cares about how I feel, continuously checking to make sure Im comfortable and not feeling pain. She explains everything thats going to happen and walks through my questions, no matter how many times I ask the same question. Dr. Kim Corrigan is the same. Not only is she really just genuinely kind, but she believes me and understands my fear of dentistry and related pain. I can see it in her eyes. She doesnt rush in or rush out, she spends time assessing her case . She is gentle and focused. She has even come in on her day off to help me post-operatively. Lets face it, nobody loves going to the dentist, right? Well, I was so averse to the dentist that I didnt go for 11 years. I was afraid (based on my past experiences) of the pain, the scraping the sounds and smells even that go with a visit to the dentist. Finally I had a toothache and I had to go. Based on research online and a referral from a friend I chose La Costa Dental Excellence.MIND BLOWN! Dr Kim Corrigan & Dr. Steven Dankworth specialize in Pain Free Sedation dentistry. I will attest that Pain Free was exactly what they delivered. My case was not a pretty one...I had 6 hours of work done including periodontal therapy. I took a pill 45 mins beforehand re my appointment to relax me and then after I arrived I was given additional medicine to sedate me. I also was given gas. I had some heavy duty stuff done and let me tell you, not only do I not remember a thing due to the amnesia effect of the drugs... But after my procedure I was 100% pain-free. Not bad for 6 hours worth of dental work.From the moment I walked in, this place was different. None of the weird smells or drilling sounds that go along with the dentist or present. Everything was so high-tech and 1st class. Impressive to say the least. Everyone was friendly on my first consultation and they explained all the costs, accepted my insurance and even had financing available. I have to give a special shout out to Sandra who made sure I was relaxed and comfortable the entire time. Shes a real asset to the team over there. Dr. Corrigan is obviously an industry veteran with decades of excellent experience.Bottom line, Dont be Afraid of the Dentist anymore. I promise its not necessary. I am new to the San Diego, Carlsbad area. I have had some experiences with highly rated Dentists that turned out to be very expensive, with sub standard results. Not the case with La Costal Dental Excellence! I was very impressed by their management of COVID 19 issues and felt very safe. The owners are not only kind, highly competent professionals, their support staff showed tremendous skil and professionalism handling a sticky issue, and resolving it very successfully! I had wonderful care, better results than expected, and the cost was far less than I had prepared for! I can not say enough wonderful things about this practice and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for solutions to even the most challenging dental issues. Ive been coming to La Costa Dental for more than 12 years. There are no better doctors or staff in all of San Diego! Everyone is very polite and professional. As a working parent, I most appreciate that everyone is always on time. Ive never had to wait for an appointment and the customer service is outstanding. Steven provided a highly complex and massive amount of work in working with my sons under-bite which required interfacing with our orthodontist at the early stage, with our implant surgeon specialists dentist/MD, and then provided the overall analysis, strategy, execution, and follow up. Dr Dankworth created the ability for my son to have a normal bite at 24 years old that he never before experienced and also gave him an amazing smile. This process involved 22 teeth and ended with great success. We love Dr D!

I now trust all the staff, and this has changed me as a dental patient. And.. I was always given numbing or medication if I asked. No questions or persuasion not to from them. It was I, who started to feel braver as a result of their treatments.Back to Dr. Dankworth- He is top notch. Were lucky to have him here. He should be in Beverly Hills working with the stars. I am not a celebrity nor have a celebritys income and Dr. Dankworth has been more than fair. And I am not trying to encourage this.. and I am quite sure this is more than rare.. but I asked Dr. Dankworth to change a few of my crowns after they were in.. and he did!!! I might add, without additional charge.For the gals in the office - exceptionally lovely and wonderful people, each one of them. Always treated with the utmost professionalism, genuine friendliness and care. Often, because of my experience and the demands I have made on this office, I would almost feel embarrassed to walk in. Found Dr. Dankworth via google search. Amazing staff and great dentist. His chair side manor and listening to the patient is great. Working to fix my jaw alignment issues to help other health issues. Loved the approach to root cause treatment to better health refreshing.

My first cleaning with the hygienist, Stacey, was extremely thorough and gentle. I left feeling that Ive never had my teeth so clean. Stacey also provided a lot of education on dental health, suggested new products and didnt give me grief for not getting in every 6 months. You can tell the entire practice values health and staying up to date with the latest tests and cleaning practices. My previous dental practice was extremely condescending and I always left feeling irritated- hence why I didnt go every six months. Now, Ive already scheduled my next visit.

Ive never gone to a dentist who has a hygienist do the cleaning but it is SO MUCH BETTER!! Way more thorough and in depth. The doctors are so gentle when you need treatment done too. Im deathly afraid of needles and they were so patient with me and I honestly didnt even feel the numbing shots. Which isnt normally the case. Staff and doctors are phenomenal. I love it here!

At La Costa Dental Excellence I had a great experience. All of the assistants and doctors were wonderful and so accommodating, not too mention how sweet and welcoming everyone was. Will definitely continue to be coming to La Costa Dental Excellence for all of my dental needs. Overall, an amazing office that I would highly recommend.

I recently had to have a little procedure done on my back molar which required some numbing of the gum. I must admit I was a bit nervous as I have a fear of needles, but Dr. Stephen Dankworth has perfected a technique where you dont feel a thing! He is also a wealth of knowledge and I always feel confident with any recommendations he makes. If youve ever had a fear of visiting the dentist, this is your place. I actually look forward to all of my visits on a personal and professional level! 😃

This office is great! They fit me in during my visit from out of town to help me resolve a very frustrating issue. I was in and out in a speedy manner and the staff is wonderful. Everyone is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable which makes for a great overall experience.

This is a great office with the most professional staff and dentists. My teeth were a mess when I first came and now after getting them fixed up i could probably be a tooth model. Well, maybe not, but at least they are in a much healthier condition now. I recommend this office to anyone. I would come here even if I didnt have teeth.

Dr. Corrigan and her team are very passionate about what they do, and it shows in their work. I was so fearful going back to a dentist because of bad experiences, but when I came to La Costa, they took great care of me and made sure I was comfortable at all times. I had over 3 hours of work done and they gave me some good relaxing music to play while they worked on my fillings. I also was given a warm blanket and the nitrous really helped my anxiety. The receptionists were very accommodating to get me in right away. I recommend this dental office to anyone and everyone.

I’m really afraid of pain, needles, and drills but these dentists / hygienists make my visits as pain-free as possible. Jessica in particular is really nice and makes me feel at ease. I agree with the above reviewer who said “no pain, no deception”. Overall the whole staff is friendly. The waiting room and bathrooms are clean. I don’t speak “dentist”, but this staff clearly explains what I need to know before making costly decisions about my teeth.

The greeting I received was tremendous. It was enjoyable filling out paperwork with the friendly chatter of the women in the front office. I met with Dr. Dankworth and he answered all my questions and took away all the fear I had built up for the last 5 years. Im actually looking forward to having my smile back soon. Awesome office.

If you are okay with being name called and disrespected, this is the place for you! My experience with the office was horrible. I was called rude, twice, in the front waiting area, when I pressed for an accurate explanation of the charges for the day. What does it say about this dental practice when the staff is permitted to insult a client with no regard for common decency and professionalism? No person should ever have to go through what I experienced here, it was demeaning. Apparently just another day at the office as Dr. Dankworth was given a written detailed account of my experience and yet offered no apologies for the unwarranted and injurious comments. My family and I have been regular patients for over a decade but never again. Their fees for services come at a premium, but patience and allowance for questioning on the accuracy and details of charges are not met with tolerance or welcome here. Keep quiet, dont question and pay up!

If you told me four years ago that Id go to the dentists office to relax for a bit, Id have reported you to the mental authorities. These guys are awesome and can make even the most frightened feel at ease. My teeth are great and the staff is super friendly. Dont wait another minute...make your appointment before you have a mouth like a chupacapbras!
