BEWARE: THIS CREDIT UNION IN UNSECURE AND THEY THEMSELVES WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!!!!  IM A 30 year customer, soon to be ex-customerEarlier this year they stopped my access to my money without notice. When I called to find out what was happening they told me my card was compromised. I asked them if they could rush me a new card and I was told that I have to go to the branch. Unfortunately I live in Wildomar so the closest location is 45 miles away.  But I wanted to be able to access my money so I made a trip and got a new card. Once I had the card I was told to try it out in their ATM just outside the branch. I did so and it worked fine. I went all the way home and the very next day the new card didnt work. Once again they stopped my card, this time because their own ATM machine had been compromised. So I had to make a second trip to get yet another card. Most retailers check their payment devices daily for skimming devices that steal information. Here is a credit union thats supposed to keep your money safe and they dont check theirs.I moved the bulk of my money out of that place to a secure credit union Altura. Now recently, because I moved 99% of my money out only using My Point for my online stuff.  I forgot about one bill and it was covered by my overdraft for a fee of $35.00. Which I take full responsibility for.  However when I went to print 13 postage labels at $3.19 a piece they decided to charge me $35.00 fee for each one. Thats right a $35.00 fee to cover $3.19. Needless to say the fees added up to over $420.00. After complaining the acted like they did me a favor giving me a littleover half back.FLAT OUT THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY AND DONT KEEP IT SECURE. Point Loma Credit was an awesome institution for many years. But it has become very corrupt as My Point Credit Union.

Great customer service in general and convenient location off of El Camino Real and Aviara. Ive been a member a long time and in general Point Loma CU has good financing options. I deposit my checks into their security deposit box, and my funds show up in my account next day, avoiding the long hold times using an ATM.

Worst service Ive ever had from a bank.Would never recommend and will be sure to file a complaint with bbb.I paid my $5 membership fee and deposited money. Was going to get a car loan but didnt make sense. I left my funds in the account and later than week went online to start setting things up so I could direct deposit funds to that account, well their website is useless and so I never ended up doing it. Their hours are horrible... why would a bank close at 5pm every business day... most people work till 5pm.Anyways, fast forward a few years and I remembered I had money in that account, went in to withdraw the funds and close the account. The branch manager said, that account was closed out. there was no activity so we closed it. So you charge me a fee to become a member, then I give you money to put in your bank and you say pound sand, that money is gone. it costs us money for you to keep your money in here ???? They should fire that branch manager, his name was Jeff.

This review is less for the branch, but more for the PLCU Loan Department. People at the branch were very nice.Recently my wife and I decided to get a HELOC. I wanted to give a local entity business so we chose PLCU. We both have outstanding credit which includes numerous paid off mortgagesand we have significant assets, lots of equity etc.First, when dealing with the PLCU Loan Department they make it clear there will be a 72 hour delay in response. This is true even if they ask you a question. Example, when we applied the loan department told me to bring certain documents to the branch to start the application. The person at the La Costa who was very nice and efficient told me I needed additional docs not specified in the Loan Department email. I sent an email and called the Loan Department asking what was correct. I did not get a response so I finally digitized and forwarded part of what the branch person said was needed. Eventually the Loan Department told me what I sent was sufficient. The same miscommunication happened when they asked us to contact our homeowners insurance provided. We followed the instructions to the letter only to have the Loan Officer ask us to call the provider back to add more information. The communication disjoint was particularly difficult when trying to set up appointments. The Loan officer insisted on asking us by email what was a good appointment date would be and then she would set up the appointment with the branch. We would respond promptly and then not get a response...one time for over a week. For any person a lot can change in a week. My wife works large international projects for a tech firm so for her schedules are twice as hard to nail down. So, by the time the Loan Department offered an appointment my wifes calendar was full that day. I finally told the Loan Department to get the papers to the branch and give us a call and we would deal directly with the branch, because it is less than two miles from my wifes office. In the end I felt like we were working for PLCU not that they were working for us. We were approved for a $100,000 loan and were supposed to sign this week. Based on the performance of the PLCU Loan Department even though we were approved, my wife and I withdrew our application and will take our business elsewhere. I want nothing else to do with them. I am 57 years old and in forty years of dealing with banks and credit unions including multiple mortgages and HELOCS this is the worst service I have ever had.

If I could give this place a zero stars I would. This place is so worthless... every time I come it’s something different with them and they are so rude.
