My mom was here for a year and 3 months, her care depended on who was working in her area.There were a few good caregivers but just as in any senior care home many were mediocre.I was grateful to have my parents under hospice care and a wonderful competent nurse visiting every week and sometimes more often.I have heard that the quality of care has gone down hill and many employees have left in the last 2 years. There have also been several Directors come and go. I would not recommend anyone to come to this facility.

Sunrise Senior Loving is one of the best facilities in San Diego County. This is a small caring community staffed with kind, compassionate, professionals dedicated to seeing your loved ones not just live comfortably but THRIVE. The facility has been meticulously maintained and updated. It looks brand new. Staff & caregivers are the most professional you will meet. They are engaged with residents & guests. A loving, family community.

I have had a wonderful experience with my parents at Sunrise. Initially, my father was in memory care, but my mother had her own apartment in assisted living. That way, she could visit whenever she wished, but also had her own retreat. The staff was extremely helpful and responsive and empathetic when my father passed away - and my mother didnt have to make any moves at that time, which was good for her. She continues to thrive, and I am pleased to see so many of the same faces working there for the past 5 years. I am very familiar with other residences (because of other family members), and I highly recommend Sunrise.

My uncle has been at Sunrise for the past 9 months and we are very happy with the staff, the overall environment and the care that he is receiving. The social work staff has been especially helpful and kind. The staff know and interact with the residents in a respectful way. The physical environment is elegant, light and comfortable. There are many activities from music to trivia to crafts, to movie nights. Recently my uncle was moved to the memory care unit and we found the staff to be supportive and attentive to his needs as he transitioned to a higher level of care.

A close family friend moved to Sunrise last year and had a wonderful experience there. The staff was so caring and always greeted us by name when we came to visit. The excellent food, excursions and other activities helped Charlie feel right at home. Would not hesitate to recommend Sunrise at La Costa to anyone seeking a warm, homelike atmosphere and gentle, professional care.

My mother has lived here for a year, since the new Director took over there has been a decline in care and services because of staff leaving. Some very competent employees that have worked there for a number of years have left because the Director made it clear her agenda was all about money and not the quality of care. Residents are leaving because of the caregivers filling in for positions that are now empty so that when they push the button on their pendant to alert caregivers they need assistance either no one shows up until maybe an hour or more later. I have arranged to move my mother into a safer and more caring environment. This will be my 5th move, there is a real need for keeping senior care home corporations and their staff honest and keeping their commitment to caring for their residents.

Sunrise in the Memory Care group has been great in taking care of my mother over the last year. Their caregivers go above and beyond and are very dedicated. I could not be more pleased. !!

Whats not to love about Sunrise? The staff is caring and thoughtful both for the resident and the family. Morning, Noon and Night there is someone looking after mom who is compassionate attending to her just as I would.

This is a great retirement home! The staff are friendly and really nice with the residents. There are a lot of volunteering opportunities. I recommend this place if you are looking for a retirement home, or to hang out with some of our wiser citizens!

I have had a very bad experience with this facility. This review is based upon on the business side and I cannot comment on the nursing or caretaking side. I had arranged for my grandma to move here and left a deposit with the facility, and placed my grandma on the wait list for a studio. My grandma changed her mind about moving there, so less than 2 days after leaving a deposit to be placed on the wait list, I went back to cancel and get a refund. I was told my check had already been cashed and corporate would have to mail me a refund in a few weeks. This seemed ridiculous that the facility manager could not refund me on the spot and nobody could give me an exact time I should expect a refund. Fast forward over a month and I still have not received it. I received a statement showing a refund but no actual check. And of course nobody at the facility has any answers. And I have not received a call from anyone at corporate with an explanation or apology that its taking so long. The whole situation has been handled extremely unprofessionally.At this point Im very glad my grandma chose not to move there. With how unorganized and unprofessional things are handled on the business side, I cant imagine the care giving side being handled any better.
