I am so thankful for Brightview and the excellent care my mother-in-law is receiving. She likes the food, the activities and the attentiveness of staff. The staff is loving and nurturing and cherish each resident. The facility is beautiful. The property has a walking trail through the woods. I am welcomed whenever I come to visit.

Awesome place. Staff are incredibly friendly (everyone seems to know my mom!). Her physical needs are well attended to (regular medication), and she is also noticed and encouraged to do activities she might not remember without support. My mom loves the food, and feels great about all the activities (especially the numerous musical events and nightly movies). I am pleased with how responsive staff (especially the assisted living staff under the supervision of Shanice Rodrigues) are to my questions and concerns.Brightview Canton is a happy and safe place. My mom is so pleased to be there.

More important than the impeccable health, wellness and safe environment delivered to residents, the genuine interest, energy, and engagement provided by the staff is what sets Brightview Canton, MA apart. From Rosie the first person we met when considering Brightview to Sharon who manages the front desk and lobby to Ron and Marco who assist residents and manage the facility - these people not only address residents by their first name, but make a point to know families and guests names and preferences. They understand the concern and worries families have and never tire of one last phone call or check in or question - they exceed expectations daily - and ensure that not only residents but families have the peace of mind so elusive in situations like these. There are no words that capture the importance and compassion of the teams/aides that see to the day to day needs and happiness - they are focused and efficient - but so kind and caring and friendly. The culture is driven by the team leader in Assisted Living - Shanice Roderigues - whose optimism and energy and attention to detail - are the model. No issue is too large or too small for Shanice to handle personally - thoroughly - professionally - with my Mothers health and happiness as the goal. My mother loves her. Its difficult to create an environment in which safety, wellness, engagement and, ultimately, happiness of the residents is delivered - but the people at Brightview Canton work hard every day to do just that.

I cannot give enough praise to BrightView. My mom was very reluctant to move there. The kindness and patience of the staff has won her over. Shanice and the Assisted Living staff, Elaine and the Medical staff, and Rosie, our mentor, all have made my mom feel welcome and cared for. They patiently answer a sont questions and concerns, and get a fiesty edler woman to do, well, most of, what she should do. The place is clean and well cared for, the activities inviting and the food is very good. They could not be more helpful. I can rest easy knowing my mom is there.

I truly feel my mom is not only getting good quality care at BV Canton; but she is also part of a warm and loving vibrant community. The assisted living director Shanice Rodrigues has followed through with everything my mom has needed from the moment she moved in. She is always there with a smile making sure my mom and the other residents are happy. There are so many wonderful employees including Devon Powers, Rosie Sampson, Elaine, Ketsia, Ron, Lisa Marie and Chuck to name a few. My mom has truly made BV Canton her home. Thank you!

My mother has been a resident of Brightview Canton for just over 2 years and it is, without doubt, the best option we could have selected for her care and well being after moving her out of her home. She first moved into Independent Living and is now in the Wellspring Village facility. While many of the features and amenities - the food, the beauty salon, the activity areas - are of high quality, they pale in comparison to the staff with whom my mother has interacted. Above and beyond the day to day care, we often receive short videos, pictures and texts letting us know how my mother is doing and how she is being engaged. Those touch points are a great source of comfort and joy to her friends and family. While there are many people who deserve recognition, Ronnie Moura has been a constant source of inspiration to our family. Despite her many responsibilities and demands on her time, she is always responsive, empathetic, and customer focused. I have also observed her in a meeting with her team, reading out acknowledgements from residents families - how well she understands the importance of acknowledgment and recognition! I would also add that during this pandemic, we have been kept well informed, on a regular basis, of the current state of affairs at Brightview, what protocols are being observed, and what ongoing precautions are being taken to ensure the safety and security of both residents and staff. Under the stewardship of Fred Kelly, and now Jenna Smith, we have the great fortune to have leaders in place who understand the myriad of complexities in running Brightview. Thank you. - Posted on behalf of Stephen M.

As the daughter of a current Independent Living resident, I would like to add my comments to my and my mother’s satisfaction with Brightview, Canton. From our initial visit following Thanksgiving Day, we were treated with respect and warmth, taken under Theresa Campbell’s wing. She engaged my mother in conversation (as opposed to addressing questions to me), showed her units of interest and answered questions. When a unit became available, Theresa and the Executive Director Fred Kelly worked with her to enable a move mid-January. The total time elapse was 7 weeks.Recently, my mother and I were speaking about her living experience at Brightview, both before and now during COVID-19. I thought this might be of interest to people considering Brightview as a viable living alternative:At her move in, features of the community included fine dining (with a diverse menu each day that the residents could choose their dining options); morning brunch; movie theater; Happy Hour each afternoon with complementary beer/wine; visitor dining room and social/recreation room with kitchen; libraries with online computers; hair salon; housekeeping; exercise room with equipment and a full range of engaging activities. Brightview also offered transportation to local venues and doctor appointments. Their Welcome Committee ensured that from the first day, my mother was introduced to fellow residents and interests that brought her into the heart of many new friendships. Then, COVID-19 came in March, and a “new normal” ensued. Residents were asked to remain in their apartments, food was brought to them and a form of isolation began w their which ensured their well-being. Because no one knew the full risk of the illness, Brightview erred on the side of extreme caution, keeping residents safe by limiting exposure. Yes, I visited Mom from the parking lot, calling up to her on her 3rd floor balcony, but she was healthy and safe albeit a bit lonely. It is here that I want to especially praise the Brightview staff—they engaged as best they could, using resources available. Closed circuit TV was established featuring exercise and the ever-popular Chair Yoga for all; Talk shows; movie airings, religious services. Weekly a “singing troubador” would circle to facility outside with his powerful PA system, hosting a sing along for folks looking out from their balconies. Brightview staff went so far as to set up a “store” in the lobby for small necessities such as toothpaste, shampoo and snacks for folks to purchase at a nominal charge. No, it wasn’t what they signed up for, but Mom was healthy, safe and engaged, minimizing the risk of cognitive loss that so many of the elderly faced being isolated. Only a handful of residents contracted COVID-19, and they quarantined appropriately so that 99% of their neighbors were and are COVID free. This review is getting very long, so let me finish by saying that my mother made a comment a few weeks ago, that “ I probably wouldn’t be alive if I was still living on my own and not in an environment like this”. Considering that she was existing on tiny food portions, knitting all day and watching TV while telling me “she was fine”, I have to agree. Not everything is perfect at Brightview—the food during the quarantine needed to be improved, portions were small because of availability and many personal services were suspended, but looking at the improvements being made now that the drastic quarantine has lifted, I give them a 5 star kudo and solid recommendation for all efforts made on behalf of residents.

Brightview Canton is a warm, welcoming senior community with many amenities and a vibrant, active buzz. One walk through their front door and you are greeted with smiles and a smattering of welcomes. The residents are often gathered in and around the warm setting of the lobby and its cozy surrounding rooms, either socializing, reading or engaged in some type of activity. Such vibrance is also found in the wonderful staff of this community. They are always visible and often engaged with a resident or group of residents. This Brightview staff is special and truly what makes this community a special place to be. From the top down, the the staff is friendly, inviting and courteous, not just to residents, but to all visitors to their community. It is something to see. I am always welcomed when I arrive, regardless of who I run into or the time of day. This is a community that shares a happy vibe, a warm community environment and a quality of life that rubs off on all who visit.

Outstanding facility with a caring and professional staff. The facility is brand new and does not have an institutional feel to it. The three levels of care and living arrangements have been ideal for our family situation. I cannot sing the praises of this place enough and hope others will check it out.

So we visited with my mom and family a few weeks ago and met with Rosie. I have to admit it is exceptional albeit very costly. But if compared to others in the field is about average. We had a warm feel when we were there but feel this may be above our pay scale. But intend on seeing if we can fit there in some capacity in the future. Even if to visit for a time.Oh Rosie is a natural salesperson and very sweet, further informative.Ask her for help in any area and she is quick to help or find it for you. Thanks Rosie!!

Somehow my 92 year old grandfather escaped from here. Literally, he somehow got out of their highly supervised section and wound up walking down. I woukd say the staff is ill equipped to do the job. But when rent is around $10,000 a month families shoukd expect a highly equipped staff is taking care of their loved ones.Brightview in Canton however seems to be just another one of deaths miserable waiting rooms.
