Amazing place, love the atmosphere and the teachers are so good. My son is reserved and a bit shy, but he is slowly coming out of his shell thanks to Richard and Kevins patience and thoughtfulness when interacting with him. Cant wait to sign up my second one when he turns 4!

Professor Richard kindly invited me to drop in for classes while visiting family in San Jose. I attended morning classes with professor Kevin, and received top notch instruction by him and a few others who teach at the academy. The atmosphere was clean, friendly, and very welcoming. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Great school! My 12 year old son started going about 2 months ago, and he really enjoys it! He goes about three times per week! The instructors are great and theres a lot of class options and times available daily. I highly recommend this school!

Great atmosphere. Great instruction. Great students. My experience here has been, well, great. Im a fan of Genes instruction—good warm ups and basic fundamentals leading into sparring toward the end of class.

Dropped in and trained with Kevin on a Thurs night and Friday morning, both classes nogi. Great detailed instruction in a casual setting. The guys here are skilled, the vibe is pretty chill and friendly, and the facility is well-appointed and clean. Structure was drilling, positional rolling, and then free rolling. Great experience all around and I’ll be back in a future visit to town.

My 7 year old son has been going here for several months and really enjoys it. One flat rate gives you top notch instruction, clean/modern facilities along with unlimited classes. What more could you ask for? Highly recommended!

My son has been going here for close to 3 years. Rich and Kevin are so good with the kids. I am so glad we found this place. My son loves each lesson, even if he doesnt show it at the time. He learns something each day, whether its using his mind or a move on the mat. I really cant imagine going anywhere else.

Loving it so far! I go primarily in the mornings, and Kevins a great teacher. The adult fundamentals class is also really helpful.

If you want to train no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu this is the place to be! The instructors are very knowledgeable and know how to teach well. We practice both ground work and take downs which is lacking at most BJJ schools I have trained at previous to this. The kids program is great too!

Samurai BJJ was a welcoming and knowledgeable atmosphere with a clean gym tucked away on a busy road. I came home on leave for a few weeks and found Samurai BJJ and knew I’d have a good experience from speaking to the owner on the phone prior to coming and training under Kevin in the early morning classes. Rich, Gene and Kevin are awesome instructors very passionate about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The Fun Jitsu program is ideal from very young ages. My kids and I felt very welcome and supported by them. The facility is well located and brand new.

Every time I show I up, a small piece of my own weakness dies and ends up as a puddle of sweat.

On my third week here and i gotta say this place is awesome. The people are cool and your always learning something new. The variety of teachers keeps things fresh and they all have theyre own methods of making sure your getting the most out of your experience. Its also a pretty fun way to workout for those that dont enjoy regular cardio training and is a great way to keep workouts fun.

Rich, Kevin and other instructors are beyond amazing. Their jiu jitsu speaks for itself, but on top of that they are friendly, professional, and have developed a gym culture that shirks off the sensei worship, and authoritative atmosphere that normally come along with martial arts. Instead the atmosphere is fun, friendly, and intense.The facilities are brand new, and more than you could expect or ask for in a Dojo.Their is a wide range in types of people and attendance so there is always someone your size and skill to train with.Come check it out!

My 6-year-old daughter was hesitant about starting a martial arts. I wanted to find a place that eased her into martial arts while teaching her some positive lifelong skills to boost confidence. Rich is an extremely patient, kind instructor and after a 2 week trial, my daughter requested to go to her fun-jitsu class as much as possible! The dojo is very clean and well-kept, the membership pricing is affordable and more importantly, the kid is learning and having fun at once. Come check it out and youll be impressed. I like that it has no long-term commitment contracts, etc. No pressure - just a supportive environment in which to learn Jiu Jitsu!
