Hygienist was very thorough and gentle. Personable and informative staff. Reasonable fees. Dr. Powell was, also, quick to explain any recommended procedures or dental issues while not being overly aggressive or pushy about what should be done. Appears to be a very honest and ethical dentist.

Went here Monday for emergency they got me in quick. After meeting Dr.Powell and finding my issues they had me back 3 days later after starting antibiotics to have my issues fixed. Not only were they attentive to my emergency needs Dr.Powell has an excellent chair side manner professional and informative. I felt completely confident trusting him with my needs (fyi root canal ). I have never felt comfortable about going to a dentist but I definitely do now. Excellent team and seriously best dentist I have ever met in Dr.Powell will not go anywhere else. I gave Fairview Dental one star, because of the poor/horrible customer service of the front desk staff. I scheduled appointments for my 14 year old son and I at this new dentist at 8 am in the morning. The front desk staff didnt put it in the system correctly and when the office manger called to confirm the appointments for the wrong time, she was very rude and because I declined to take the wrong appointment time, due to the fact it would make me late for work, she rudely suggested I go to another dentist then.Then when we were checking out for our appt the front desk staff demanded we pay up front, before insurance was billed. No problem, as we were new and I get its their policy, but they wanted me to pay more than our portion of the bill/part that the insurance would pay. I tried to discuss it with them and come to a compromise, they were rude and demanded payment at the amount they wanted me to pay and said theyd pay me back the overage. We ended up just telling them to bill it all, because they were unworkable. They immediately started sending me bills every couple weeks without billing insurance, demanding I pay the higher amount.The bill that came yesterday was still damading the higher amount to be paid. I called today to see why they hadnt billed the insurance yet. They had, but were still sending demand letters at the higher amount. I requested the accurate total after insurance and paid it in full via phone.My old dentist would have never allowed the front desk staff to treat a patient so poorly.Dr Powell,Thank you for responding. Im sorry to say you werent present at either of these rude interactions, so wouldnt have known how they went. After the fact I have read through other reviews and sadly Im not the first one to submit a review about the front desk staffs rudeness and lack of customer service.I was requested or told that I should find a new dentist, before I even came for my appt, when I refused to take the wrong appt that they scheduled and yes prior to my first visit there, so I was very taken back by this.As I have gone to various different types of doctors across the valley I have only ever been requested to pay my co-pay up front. So this was an unusual situation, but I told them they were misreading my insurance and the amount I should pay was thus. I was more than willing to pay the correct amount. However, they refused and demanded me to overpay. In the end we ended up paying the correct amount, not the inflated amount, which Im glad we waited for.After this horrible experience we determined that although clear in Boise, sticking with our old dentist of long term, was the way to go. My 14 year old son felt the same way and was the one who actually requested we go back to him.I wish you the best in finding suitable Front Desk Staff, so they dont continue to cost you new patients.Jennifer

I had a terrible toothache and turned out it was infected. I got an appointment, but woke up day before with so much pain . I called and they let me come right in within 30 minutes. I felt their care and concern. Dr. Powell worked up a plan, I got on antibiotics, and later that day pain was subsiding. I was scheduled to come back Saturday for extraction. I got in there, and when he pulled the tooth, I didnt even know it. I am very pleased with Dr. Powells expertise. He is My dentist now, as long as I live in this area. Thank you, thank you! Went to this dental office about a year ago and they claimed I had multiple cavities when I’ve never had one in the 34 years of my life. Since then I’ve been to another dentist twice for cleanings and have been told I am still cavity free!!! Hmm!? Shady dental should be the name of this insurance scamming office! Stay clear of this office! Also front desk lady is very rude and when asked to be taken off of the mailing list and out of their system she refused to do so with a very demeaning attitude!

I was in for a cleaning last week and I have to say I was really impressed with not only Doctor Powell but with his Hygienist! She did a much better job than I had experienced before at other Dentists in the area, and my teeth looked much better. She was very knowledgeable also

We are new patients at Fairview Dental. So far we have been pleased with our experience. We like their team because they are very thorough. DDS Powell was dedicated to helping us with our needs. The hygienist really worked hard to instruct my kids about flossing and brushing techniques. The staff is friendly and we have never had to wait long.

I went to Fairview Dental today on a recommendation from a co-worker. I have an extreme amount of dental anxiety, but when I walked into this dentist office I felt welcomed. Dr. Powell made sure everything was explained to me and that I understood everything that was going on.The staff there was incredible, and they made every other piece of this visit awesome, as well! Ive been going to see Dr. Powell at Fairview Dental for a little less than 1 year. I had new fillings and old fillings replaced. I have been postponing to get a tooth implant and I finally did it.I watched some videos on you tube to get an idea what it was going to be like and even though it was scary to watch how a hole is drilled into the gum I had to get it done, because I was chewing on one side only and when that side was hurting I knew it was now or never so I had to get it done sooner.Dr. Powell did a great job

A few years ago, I had a bad experience with a different dentist in another part of the state and so I had not gone back to a dental office for a few years. (yikes!) The staff at Fairview Dental helped me enjoy going to the dentist again. They are super nice and easy to work with. I was able to get in and out fairly quickly and they made working with my insurance very easy. The receptionist even gave me a print out of my treatment plan and a detailed description of what I was paying for. Thank you Fairview!
