I had a massage with Anthony and it was great! My back already feels better and I think it’ll help with my headaches. Only downside is I could hear the karate place next door. I just pretended it was seagulls on the beach. πŸ˜‚

I tried to cancel an appointment as my son is in the hospital after experiencing a life threatening seizure. I was informed I would be charged 100% unless they filled it. On a side note, I tried calling while in the ER the day prior and there was no answer. I would appreciate follow up with a manager. I tried calling the day prior at 251pm, 402pm and 403pm. No answer.

I just wanted to write a review to counter all the bad reviews Ive been reading. I love this place. Everyone is kind and polite. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, and the rooms are clean. I would recommend this place to a friend (and have). Ive been a member for 6 months or so, and I have no complaints. I feel a lot of these complaints Ive read come from people who dont read the fine print when purchasing memberships and packages. Unless the staff straight lied to you about a service, the fault lies with you.

Terrible!! Booked a massage for my Mom and myself. Nothing but trouble! They overcharged and then said they would credit us for services. I do not want a service credit. I want my money back. Now, they just charged my credit card again. This has happened 3 times. I have called the owner with no response.

I have been getting massages here for the past 6 months and my pain has decreased noticeably! I am very active and began getting so much pain it was hard for me to stay that active with routine massages I have been able to relax my muscles to keep up with my schedule. I have had massages from KC and Joy and they were both awesome! I think it’s good to switch people from time to time to get at different areas and have different pressures. Everyone at the front desk has always been very kind and helpful in trying to figure out an appointment that works for me. Love the remodel they did everything looks great and is relaxing. If you get a room next to the west wall you might here the karate kids next door. Lol.

Ive had a massage Envy membership for several years; I used to be able to get an appointment at a time that was convenient and within a week or two. They have sold so many memberships that is is now taking 1-2 months to get an evening or weekend appointment at a time that works for me.

I had been trying to cancel my monthly subscription with Massage Envy due to my dissatisfaction with their service. Before i followed through on my intention, i got an email from them on 7/13/18, stating that my account had become inactive due to a change of my debit card info on file. The email also stated that to continue my subscription, i was to contact them to update my information. Unbeknownst to me, they were able to obtain my new debit card info and continued to charge me $64.28 every month for a service i wasnt getting, till i discovered their charges on 10/14/18. My 2 main grievances are: 1. How they were able to obtain my new debit card information without my authorization? 2. Why i wasnt informed of the resolution of the account suspension since i was informed initially that i would need to contact them to resolve it ?

What a horrible company. My wife has been a customer for over 5 years. She has been a model customer. Last month we learned I had cancer and needed to start treatment immediately. So I did. This past weekend my chemo knocked me to my butt and my wife literally saved my life taking care of me and arranging medical care for me. Unfortunately she noticed 5 mins before her appointment there was no way she was going to make it while taking care of me.She call in, no exceptions, she was charge her whole session fee and also told her therapist is booked weeks out.I sent two messages on Twitter and to the corporate email, no response. Take your business elsewhere. What a trash hole of customer service.4/2/2019 - Edited - Corporate and the franchise both did contact us and continued to spout their no exceptions policy. The franchise holder said it was corporate policy, corporate said it was the franchise holders policy. My wife will just take her 8 years of business elsewhere. Funny how bad customer service can cost your location thousands.

My massage started 10 minutes after my scheduled hour, and then ended 5 minutes before the scheduled hour was over. The receptionist was intent on up selling me regardless of the fact I said several times just the massage today. The check out process was irritating, especially when they attempted to charge me double the phone price when I called to make the appointment I left feeling annoyed more than relaxed.

Be careful of what you are told and what you sign with them. Bad business practice clearly a bait and switch. They probably will come back you should of read the membership. Situation we had a gift card and was TOLD by one of their employees that after the gift card is used up there will be no further charges. (they probably will say we dont have those..hey once again we were TOLD by me and my wife) My wife signed the paperwork and it turned out to be a 12 month membership (bait and switch hmmm) From a business stand point there should be some faith and morals. talked to manager and basically said your SOL. Not good business practice. will never get my business and I will make sure that other people know not to go to them for business. There is a lot better places like keep in touch 4.4 stars versus this 3 star place. All they had o do was say I get their might of been some miscommunication we value your business we will rectify and they would of kept my business. But no your SOL....standard bad business lingo.

I do not recommend going to any Massage Envy location. They do not have good customer service skills. They do not treat their customers with respect. Their business practices are shady. The massage services that they actually do offer do not even compare to other spas. The environment they create for your stress reduction experience does not create anything close to a pleasant experience.Just read their membership agreement. You can quickly ascertain their business purposes. Do not sign the agreement. The only way you can cancel your membership prior to a year is if you die or if you move 25 miles away from any location. What kind of company out there has that type of agreement anymore?...thats an archaic business practice. There is absolutely no recourse for a consumer in the event you hate their service or can no longer use the service.

Massage Envy in Burnsville is a completely duplicitous operation. The associates will tell you one thing, and then the next time you call the suddenly have a policy in place that prohibits it. Management (specifically Sandy) refuses to honor the promises that are made by their employees and will not give you any contact information for their corporate offices. The staff working behind the desks is nice, but this is clearly a scam operation that takes advantage of people and takes away their money. If I could give it a less than poor rating, I would.

Giftcard at Massage Envy Burnsville MN? THINK TWICE! Last Christmas, my dear sister did me a huge favor so in return I purchased a 6 months paid in full upfront membership listed my sister as the member. Im too cheap for a massage myself and was a bit weary of the contract so we didnt take the membership after the introductory offer but Courtney advised that all that was needed at the time is in May, my sister just has to cancel if she doesnt want to carry on in May. Now, shes a hair stylist and she LOVES massages so it is very likely that she will continue on UNTIL after her THIRD massage in April that she was told that she already used up all six sessions!!! They included the two times that she took her mom & her husband with her and she paid with cash for them since that was their first time. It took several intense conversions with SANDY, the current manager, who FINALLY got a grip that she accidentally included her mom and her husband, who paid cash for their first visits. My sister requested a cancellation in May for the membership that due to expired in August and Sandy TOLD her that she will take care of the cancellation in May. A couple weeks later, I went in with her to get an update and we scheduled three sessions and both she & I signed the cancellation that was promised by Sandy back in MAY. Later we looked through the record and found that she did go six times so we called to cancel the extra one. Lately, Sandy kept calling her requesting her to pay for the extra visit that we did not receive. So the gift that suppose to relieve the stress actually causes her UNNECESSARY STRESS. This is the WORSE gift I ever gave to anyone!!!! So think twice.

I’m a former employee of this location who recently left after over 5 years of employment. I absolutely loved working with the clientele who came in for their massage and stretch sessions. However, the working environment was less than ideal. During the summer of 2017 the air conditioning barely worked. The thermostat had to be manually overridden many times throughout the day to keep the cool air flowing. I had customers mention that the carpet felt damp or that the room was too cold on a regular basis. Management was unresponsive to requests to make the fixes necessary. The heat did not work in the fall, and the rooms were registering in the mid 50’s some days! I had to purchase a space heater to keep my room at a comfortable temperature for my clients. The heat issue went on for months despite reminders from customers and employees to management that the building was too cold. The dryer broke and the owners did not replace it for about 2 months. The operations manager implied that she had made numerous attempts to get the owners to respond and they were too busy with moving their son into a new apartment and planning a trip to Central America to take care of the dryer. Shortly thereafter, when the washing machine broke, the operations manager was delighted to inform us that the owners had really stepped up to the plate and responded to the need for a new washer after 10 days of texts from the location manager. Having supplies was a big issue at this location. In the last 6 months of my employment, we ran out of hand soap 3 times, laundry soap more than once, Kleenexes, as well as massage lotion and cream. There were a couple of us who were diligent about leaving notes on the manager’s and operations manager’s desks when items were getting low, so they would have ample time to restock. When we completely ran out that usually meant that one of the employees would bring stuff from their own home for the business to use. I sat down with the operations manager to let her know that I was unhappy with the lack of communication and response over fixing things. Her response started out as β€œwell nobody tells me when this stuff gets low.” When I reminded her that I had a history of informing her when supplies got low she changed the response to β€œthe owners will only give each location so much money and one check for Sam’s Club each month and once that is gone we have no money to buy more until the next monthly check.” Then she stated β€œbetween you and me the supplies are walking out the door” implying that the employees were stealing the supplies. These were people I had worked with for several years and I knew they were not thieves. I was taken aback by how profoundly disrespectful this was and realized that the employees were being misrepresented to the owners as thieves and God knows what else. I’m also guessing that the owners were misrepresented to the employees and it was likely that the operations manager had not actually tried as diligently as she wanted us to believe to get a new dryer, get supplies, get the heat and air conditioning fixed, etc. Every single one of my performance reviews was late, like weeks or months late, and I usually had to make lots of reminders to the operations manager to get this done. The owners did some very kind things to show appreciation such as hosting some events on a steamboat, a St Paul Saint’s game, some picnics, and electric massage chairs at each location for the employees. They also improved the PTO program so all employees were eligible, and one accrued more time with years of service. I truly appreciated all those efforts but at the end of the day it’s the little things that matter. The daily frustrations of not having the materials needed to get the job done, the discomfort in the building, and the fact that there did not seem to be any response to these issues was far too frustrating!

If I have to wait too long to get into my regular I ask for a person who has experience with fibromyalgia. There has only been a few times Ive been disappointed with massage envy but never at this location. I have gotten massages for 25 years every other week so Im very experienced with what a good massage is. If one therapist does not meet a personal expectation I request someone else next time. I always let staff know if the massage didnt meet my expectations they have always accomodated in someway. I love getting a good massage at a reasonable price being a member. Thank you David and Heather for the great massages

My contract expired in February 2013. When I first inquired about what needed to be done they told me to just let them know which I did. I was concerned something more needed to be done and then was told that I really did not have a contract and nothing needed to be done. Again, questioning this, I asked another person and was told I need to sign something 30 days in advance of end date. All this ended up costing me three additional months that I did not want. I finally got the contract out clause taken care of and I was told I had two prepaids left and my daughter had three prepaids left. I used mine up and when my daughter was in for what we thought was her last massage, they told us my daughter has one prepaid left that needed to be used in the next four days so we scheduled my daughter another massage. When she went in for the massage she was told her prepaids were used and we would owe for the massage. We opted out and then was told we would be charged a cancellation fee. I told them NOT to charge my card and they did anyway. They hide behind their iron clad contract that you agreed to cancellation fees with your signature and you gave us permission to charge your card with your signature. They refused to even think they made an error. The therapists are good, the customer service is NOT. POOR

Massage Envy- Burnsville location, horrible experience! My husband purchased a membership for me in December 2011. After a year, I needed to cancel my membership due to the fact that I could not get there every month. When I called in December 2012 I had 4 massages banked. Meaning those 4 massages were paid for! When I called to inquire about their cancellation policy I specifically asked about my 4 massages. The staff person I spoke to informed me that yes, they would still honor my massages. I was told I just needed to sign a piece of paper and that was it. Unfortunately, there was a lot of confusion about this paperwork. I called several times to make sure everything was correct and I was assured it was. Next month comes and my husband was billed. I called immediately and was told I didnt complete the paperwork! So I spoke with the clinic administrator Sandy, who informed me that she called and left me a message in December regarding this. She absolutely positively did not! I had nothing to gain by ignoring her voicemail, why wouldnt I have called back? Up to that point I had responded to everything they asked? So she blatantly lied to me!With all of the conversations I had with staff, no one told me anything different regarding my 4 banked and paid for massages. I assumed I would still be able to use them. Unfortunately I did not get around to scheduling an appointment until April. When I called I was told I lost those massages. I spoke wtih Sandy again, and explained to her that her staff did not inform me that because I ended my membership I would lose those massages. I wouldnt have canceled knowing I had 4 paid for massages! Her words to me were I cant confirm that conversation happened! Basically calling me a liar. I tried to point out all the problems I had with paperwork and that her staff didnt appear to be properly trained and that I should not have to suffer because her staff wasnt trained appropriately. She informed me her staff was superbly trained! She informed me they would not honor those massages.I was not asking for anything free, I was simply asking for them to honor the 4 massages that were paid for. I sent an email to corporate, and havent heard back. So I guess I am doing whatever I can to share my experience with everyone. I believe it is our responsibility as consumers to share when we have had fabulous services as well as poor service.I am asking everyone to please pass the word on to all! There are so many massage places out there, we do not need to be treated this way!

Very poor customer service. Spend your money elsewhere.Several times I have called to schedule an appointment and gotten voicemail during business hours OR have been put on hold for over 5 minutes. I spoke with the manager Sandy about this and her recommendation was to not call on the top of the hour or the bottom of the hour because those are our busy timesI had been a member for over 6 years and had two kids in that time so I had 13 hours of pre-paid massages that had accrued on my account. I called Sandy to see what we could do - if we could freeze my account while I use up the 13 pre-paids I have or for a few months so I could catch up a little bit? That wasnt an option and there was no flexibility on behalf of massage envy. Bad business in my opinion to not do right by your customer....but the google reviews tell the story of this place..one bad one after another. Theres no corporate number or person to talk to either...Sandy seems to be the only person in charge here. You get what you pay for....there are other qaulity massage locations in Burnsville with great customer service and thats where Ill be spending my money from now on.

Generally when one thinks of a business such as Massage Envy they will think tranquility, stress release, and peace. This could not be furthest from the truth. It was nothing bug a headache from the moment they asked if I wanted to sign up to become a member.I am all for policy and procedure and respect that, however, they dont even follow their own rules. For example, if you become a member, when you sign up that becomes your start day for each month. This is also when they take their monthly payment out from your checking account. So if your date is May 17th than you have until June 17th to get in and schedule your massage. On a couple of occasions I scheduled earlier than the 17th and the front desk just processed me through as an early transaction for my monthly dues. Not a problem they said. However, the last massage I had with them, and I had scheduled early thinking nothing of it, paid and left thinking no big deal since thats what they did before for me suddenly was against their policy. I figured it out when I checked the balance in my checking account. They were insisting that suddenly their policy doesnt allow a member to come early and pay early. However, they had done it twice before and technically even the final time that it became a problem with out a word about policy to me. I was pretty upset because I felt lied to and when I called to speak about it with the woman at the front desk they didnt seem to care very much. They blamed me and made me feel as though I was the one trying to do something wrong. I explained how I felt mis lead and I have yet to honestly get a sincere apology. Their manager called me, but even this person just danced around the issue with excuses and thoughtlessness for how as their customer I felt quite scammed.I promptly went and cancelled my account @ their Apple Valley location, which I also have to say isnt the best customer service either. There were many hidden policies and procedures that came to light during my time as a member with them that resulted in me spending quite a lot of extra money for quite a lot of extra hassle, time, stress, and frankly just straight up b/s. I feel bad for the massage therapists who are really the reason why Massage Envy can be such a profitable business. Its sad because the actions of their front desk and management and ultimately the owners are not helping ensure a credible reputation. They are a franchise, but someone from their corporate headquarters should come check out how shady the Burnsville location is and sadly the lack of quality customer service.I would recommend finding your own massage therapist, seeing, and paying them directly to avoid all of this extra fluff that theyre trying to sell you, which in the end somehow your pockets will end up lighter. As far as Im concerned they are a hop, skip, and a jump away from a scam artist. Shame on them!

This company exhibits the worst most unprofessional business practices I have ever seen. I do not think the management here requires any professional education because if so, they would not write their legal binding contracts the way they do and they would DEFINITELY NOT treat their customers the way they do. Just look at all of the horrible reviews for Massage Envy Burnsville. If you look up any other spa business most of them are much more positive, it is not just that people go on the internet to write bad reviews...I would write a positive review if I felt it was positive. Management runs this business literally the same as a tyrannical government. There is no one to answer to above the manager...this makes absolutely no sense! Other franchise businesses like Chik-fil-a, for example, still have people their owners answer to in corporate. Although Massage Envy practices are shady and very misleading, they are legal which is even more frustrating but they are not exemplifying good customer service practices in any regard. My story with this location happened when I took in a massage coupon in this past spring and enjoyed my experience with the therapist, not the management. Afterwards, the woman at the front desk explained how it would work were I to sign up for a 12 month contract. She never once mentioned that it would under pretty much no circumstances be able to be canceled not even by paying a fee. NEVER ONCE. When I finally moved away and the closest Massage Envy is 24 miles (not the 25 needed) the manager explained to me that her staff tells everyone the implications of the contract including the only way it can be canceled. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. I told her this multiple times and her response was I do not want to play he said she said, I know my staff told you. For the hundredth time, they did not tell me, stop being defensive and assuming your staff is always doing what you say they are doing. I read the contract but assumed that like most business there would be a way, allbeit monetary, to get out of a contract but no, this place operates like a tyranny. With that in mind, since the manager appears to answer to no one, youd think she would make exceptions for someone like me who is almost 25 miles from a Massage Envy and DOES NOT HAVE A CAR. No, she could care less and just wants every last penny. I would have renewed my contract when I come back to the area, but now I will not be doing that because of this experience and I tell everyone I know to NOT GO HERE, spend more money at a specialized spa, not this place.
