I left my old Optometrist after I realized my visits were about $ and how many customers they could schedule in a day. I had no identity as a customer at all and was moved methodically around the office, with someone in front and behind at each stage to get as many people as possible through the door.When I found out Dr Hoekstra had moved to Burlington, I made an appointment and traveled up for my annual check-up. Excellent communication from his team prior the appointment and throughout the exam. They have an amazing selection of frames and found their pricing less expensive than I had paid in the Seattle region previously!Vision Plus Burlington offers expertise in eye health and exceptional customer service. I am more than happy to make the drive north be treated as a client and not just a number walking through the door!

I’m a new patient at this office. I had a wonderful and welcoming experience. Two ladies at the reception desk was very nice and helpful. I didn’t had to wait for long, and the optometrist was great. Thank you for the wonderful appointment. Professional, on time, clean and respectable.

Not able to back date insurance for even basic check ups. Work is taking an extra week to provide cards to the employees and I needed to get in but theyre forcing me to pay out of pocket unlike eye doctors Ive had in the past and have called around to.Really big bummer because Im out of town next week and am damn near legally blind.Im not sure why every other medical office, dental office, and vision care can send me an invoice that I pay using my insurance once the card has been sent to me. Very obviously not fraud if youre the only ones unwilling.

Great doctor I had! The receptionist was really nice. Overall great experience with them they were very informative.Except for when I asked how long it would take for my contact lenses to arrive because the doctor only gave me a trial for 5 days(I wanted to make sure the contacts I order would get here, before I run out of the trials since I’ll basically be blind lol)The lady chimed in (she had a red left eyelid she was icing it) and was like “they are only trials for you to try out you’d have to order more” very rudely! Hello lady I’m not asking for handouts! Obviously I have to pay and no $hit they are trials it’s not my first time getting my contacts. She had a stank attitude when I asked if my insurance would cover my eyeglass exam. Other than here they were all friendly! Date of visit was 07/15 at 5:00

The staff and Doctor are amazing. So caring and compassionate about you as an individual. Great fresh clean atmosphere. Friendly inviting environment. Highly recommend these guys.

We are always happy with our visits! They are always able to fit my daughter and I in at the same time which makes it super easy for us. The staff are super awesome and friendly!

My family and I have been going here since we moved to Burlington in 2012! They are always friendly and helpful. Finances are tight so I have to order cheap glasses online and they never make me feel weird about taking my prescription home to order.

As good as I could expect! Nice doctor and staff, and no dilation or air puff test with their alternative equipment. Walked out 45 mins later with new contacts to try out, and new glasses ordered for pick up in 2 weeks. They took my insurance which helped a bit, rest of the cost seemed average. No complaints, happy to use them and would send other family members here. Comfortable and clean office in a newer building, just a block back behind Fred Meyer.

Been coming to Vision Plus since when they where located in Fairhaven st. I like that they stay on top of all of their patients differences and most of all they are kind and welcoming as soon as you set foot indoors.

The easiest eye exam and new glasses purchase Ive ever had. With covid I wasnt sure what to expect going in for an eye exam, but I had the whole place to myself except for the staff. I got to try on all the frames I wanted and then set them aside to be cleaned. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I love the new glasses I got, and the anti reflective coating came w/ free lense replacement for 2 years.

Posting for my elderly father whom feels like he was ripped off. He went in expecting to receive the transition lenses, clear to tinted sunglasses. He felt like for the $207 charge for each lens it would work well for driving and being outside. Well his lenses never changed so he went back and was told sorry it wasn’t explained WELL but it won’t work through the windshield or while wearing a hat.... There was absolutely no satisfaction guarantee or even concern that he wasn’t happy. I will be finding him another eye doctor for all future appointments.

An excellent experience, very accommodating

Went in for exam was told I need transitional lenses so I ordered them. Got the transition lenses and made me dizzy, so I asked that they put my old lenses back in my frames, but they threw out my old lenses. In short, I had to pay to get my lenses they threw away. Then I had to pay for bifocals and over three trips to the store just to drop off my frames so they can install. The entire event lasted from June to the end of August and I spent over $300. Worst part when I asked for then to see their err and consider giving me a break they did nothing. Will not be going back.I bought three pairs of glasses 1. transitional lenses 2. bifocals because transitional lenses made me dizzy 3. my original lenses

Dr. Wald and his staff are super! Very reliable, knowledgeable, and they like to have fun. Always a pleasant experience, even picking out frames from their large selection. I never felt pushed to buy frames from them or for any additional services. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and are very respectful of your time. Dr. Wald is very thorough and his clinical skills are excellent. Definitely one of the best optometrists I have been to!

I had the absolute best experience getting my eye exam with Dr. Hoekstra. From the moment I walked in till the moment I left I was treated so kindly. Hands down the best customer service I’ve ever had. The manager was so sweet and just made me feel so welcome! Dr. Hoekstra was extremely professional, answered all of my questions and gave me tons of information! I highly recommend him!

Dr. Hoekstra is very personable, polite and extremely knowledgeable. He was efficient, thorough and happy to answer all of my questions. Staff members were informative and cheerful. Working with them to select a couple of pairs of glasses was really fun and they were very patient as I worked my through their great selection of fashionable frames. My son has a lazy eye and astigmatism. No problem for Dr. Wald. hes got my boy all squared away. It was all caught early on his first visit. Hes doing great and loves to wear his glasses.The staff is fun and super great with my son. I had saved all year so he could pick out frames instead of the usual Medicaid insurance choice of 4 frames.My son had a great experience trying on all the frames. The gal that helped us was super cool and really made my son the star. There was no pressure at all, it was a fun experience. I let her know what I could afford while my son was being examined and she presented all the choices I was able to afford in my price range to him. They were in a nice mega compartmental box with all kinds of great frames. In 14 years, it was the first time my son was actually having fun shopping! He was hesitant at first, but in no time he was all smiles while working with the lady to find just the ones he wanted.Hes not a TAKE MY PICTURE person. But hes pretty open now with his new glasses, just in time for the holidays!We always go away feeling like we had a good time. Ive paid $10 for movies that were less fun.I get reminded when his appointment is near and when the glasses are ready and thats most important to me. I cant remember anything, which is why I have kids.We always go to pizza a block away at the Pizza Factory before or after the kids appointments. Really great pizza and pinball machines. Perfect

Gave new prescription for sons glasses and ordered new frames. They used old prescription to fill order. Just realizing now 8 months later he has been wearing the wrong script! What the heck!

Refused to fill my prescription even though it had not expired yet. Claimed that they wanted me to spend the extra money for a new eye exam before they would honor the prescription. Will never use again.

Poor customer service. They dont know how to please a customer and would rather lose a business.
