My 93 year old mother had lived in the same home in Skagit Co. for the last 70 years of her life, but her health condition changed suddenly, and she no longer could live independently. As her only daughter, I happen to live 5 hours away. Home Is Where The Heart Is was recommended to me by a trusted relative. From the first phone call, I felt like we were building a relationship. Home is Where The Heart Is has gone above & beyond our expectations in finding a setting that eases Mom’s mind as she makes the big adjustment to assisted living. She was not a happy camper at first, but through a couple of home visits & multiple phone calls her questions have been answered & she feels assured that this will be a good fit for her. Everyone that I’ve talked to assures me that Home Is Where The Heart Is maintains very high standards & puts safety first. Kristy & the staff at Home is Where the Heart Is really care! I sure appreciate them!

Yesterday I took a tour of Where the Heart Is. I was immediately impressed by the people that I talked with. Their care when talking to me about my mom was very comforting. They were very informative and took their time with me and showed me the facility. I was very impressed with the layout and the people that I could see taking care of others who were living there now. The rooms and small one bedroom apartments are very welcoming and each of them seems to have a peaceful view and beautiful. I am pursuing securing a place for my mom with them and I have high hopes for the care that was described an exhibited to me yesterday. The opportunities for my mom including her sense of safety was of primary concern for me and those needs seem to be well met at Where the Heart Is ❤️

A year ago during the COVID close downs, my dad had a stroke and after the hospital and rehab, we learned that he wouldn’t be able to go back into Independant living and his facility didn’t think they could manage his needs in assisted living. I had to find an assisted living facility that could better handle memory care. Someone told me about Where the Heart Is in Burlington. Because of COVID, we couldn’t tour the facility or meet or see other residents, but Kristie their marketing rep was so good about spending time answering all our questions and explained their amazing philosophies and practices so well, we knew without hesitation that it was the right place. My dad couldn’t be happier. They are so helpful, responsive and caring, and they got dad engaged in the community right away so I couldn’t be happier. If you are looking for a place that embraces the uniqueness of your senior and welcomes them with open arms and provides fun activities and safe care, this is the place for you! I can’t say enough good things about the entire team.

I can’t say enough about the staff at Where the heart is, a little over 4 years ago after my mom was diagnosed as having Alzheimer’s my brothers and I started looking for a place for mom that would give her the care and comfort for her to live and still independence of her own apartment yet in a community with people she can enjoy. The staff at Where the Heart Is are terrific people they treat your love ones as their own. We looked around for cheaper places and places closer to hospitals and services but we decideded on Where The Heart is because of the staff we meet over 4 years ago Maria promised Mom would have the best care possible and has proved that as well as her staff over the past 4 years and now with mom being under hospice care which the staff of Where The Heart Is recommended we get mom on once again the people taking care of my mother has proved what Angels they are I could never thank them enough,Pat Odell

My mother recently moved to Where the Heart is and it has been a wonderful experience for her. There is a sense of community there and she felt right at home with the other folks who live there. She is able to enjoy her life with the safety net of a well trained staff in a beautiful facility. My mother loves it there.

I went to tour the facility with a good friend because I’m in a very difficult position dealing with aging family members that are sick, and in time may require care in a facility such as this. I chose to tour the facility now as to prepare myself for what may come in the future, and I wanted to do so with my (best) friend because this is a difficult process for me to even have to think about, let alone bring my family into right now and I needed the support of a friend. Long story short I was denied a tour solely because my friend was a former caregiver at the facility- I was told I could make an appointment to come back with my family (which they themselves are not ready to do, hence once more why I went with a trusted friend for support). Given this experience (which was pretty horrible) I won’t even be considering this facility for any future care of my family members.
