My updated review!!!My insurance company sent me a letter in error that Dr. Hoffman was no longer a network provider. The insurance company was at fault, not this office! I rescind my previous review and have updated it and the rating!Cynthia WeeksCynthia Weeks) My husband John, my daughter, Torri, have seen Dr. Hoffman for many years. We love seeing him as our family doctor and have a wonderful rapport with him. When you have seen the same doctor for many years conveniently and you like his professionalismknowledge, and compassion, you get attached to seeing that doctor. We were quite disappointed and disillusioned yesterday to learn from our insurance company that he is no longer in the Federal Blue Cross Blue Shield provider network. His medical office did not have the decency and courtesy to even bother sending us a letter to inform us that Dr. Hoffman had left the preferred provider network!!! Loyal patients should not have to find out from their insurance companies that their own doctor will no longer accept their insurance that he’s accepted for many years. No explanation, nothing. No call, no letter. My doctor IS my provider, not the insurance company and his office should have sent us a letter before they left the network! Very discourteous and unprofessional treatment to loyal patients for all these years. We didn’t deserve this and don’t appreciate it! Long term patients should be valued more than this. I would not recommend this office to anyone for this reason. I feel like we were owed more respect as human beings and patients than this. Kindness matters, or so we thought. Makes me so sad to have to leave on this untimely note.

Let me start off by saying, Dr. Hoffman is still a good doctor. Just unfortunate he is surrounded by incompetence. The front office staff are loud, rude, and treat you like a child. They are also unattentative and seem to be only in it for the money. First question asked upon arrival, before you get to even say what you are there for. Will you be self pay or insurance?. Before anything else. This particular visit was unhelpful, and frankly a waste of time. I didnt need any medical degree to tell me what the doctors in the back told me. I went in for lower back pain. After poking me about 7 times, I was told I do indeed have lower back pain, immediately prescribed a muscle relaxer, and send on my way. When I went back to the front desk... I was asked what day I would be returning to work. Why would a nurse ask a patient with back pain.... when they are going back to work?My back pained worsened the next day. When I called to start asking questions or what to do next, I was told to come back in an schedule another visit. Another $110 they wanted because they didnt do anything the day before. When I resisted, and asked why this wasnt done yesterday.... I was flat out asked What more do you want us to do? Ive never had a doctors office of any kind respond to a patient in back pain in this way. I then asked for Sergio himself to give me a call. After Sergio gave me some spiel about going to physical therapy (a drastically different remedy), I asked him If I made the wrong choice by going to Texas Health Family Care first? He told me no. Clearly I did.Needless to say, I cannot recommend this Practice to anyone.

I could not be more disappointed in the way this place handles their business. I have tried for MONTHS to get an order for a diagnostic mammogram, which they cant seem to get right; however, they released ALL my medical records to the mammography company and still couldnt provide the necessary order. After calling to talk to the Office Manager, Erin, and not receiving a call back in 2 days and then having Crystal cop an attitude when I called to follow up on that call back is all I needed to say adios!

I had been going to Dr. Hoffman for 30+ years and have seen it going downhill for a while now. I cant ever get my medications they put me on refilled without new bloodwork every month. Every other place is 6months. I cant take that many days off. Waited for over an hour last time and never got in, had to leave without it. Then they charged me multiple visits on one visit, because I had questions about the medications they put me on. Apparently I went over their time limit with the doctor. WHAT A JOKE THIS HAS BECOME!!!!

Front staff are amazing! Polite very helpful and friendly . The clinic is clean and they also have a little space for kids with toys and books. But the Doctor Sergio was very rude to my husband he was treating him like if he was a drug addicted he asked him if he do meth just because my husband mention about his panics attacks he assumed he was a drug addicted, Very unprofessional doctor

Front office staff is rude and unprofessional. They are very condescending when you speak with them on the phone. Almost as if you’re bothering them by calling. When you’re waiting to be called in you can hear the untrained employees .... because it is clear this is not a professional career for them....behind the desk having group conversations about their personal lives, about other patients’ information, and how they really feel about the patients ... all while the phone is ringing. It makes you almost want to walk out for fear of quality care as represented by the inadequate welcoming committee. However, I am very pleased with the doctors, PAs, and medical nurses... especially Dr. Hoffman himself. They are well trained, helpful and professional. Good health care... horrible customer relations.

Dr Hoffman is great, P.A. Stephanie Speight is Great. However, it takes forever to get anything done there, and if your self pay, you may as well just fight through your illness because they wont give you any price breaks. $100 for a flu shot?!? $189 just for an office visit?!? I hate that when I am there for a visit, and I need new CPAP supplies, I cant just walk out with a RX in hand, I have to come back days later to pick it up. $300 for an A1C and a follow up is madness. Ive never walked out of there without paying nearly $200.

My fiancee and I went in to get a check up for him and get blood drawn so we could know what level of diabetes he is facing. They called me and said they could not give me the results because I wasnt on his list of people to contact,I completely understood.,so the nurse asked if I could have my fiancee call, which I didnt hesitate. Its been almost a week and we have left numerous messages and havent gotten a phone call one.Now correct me if Im wrong but diabetes is pretty serious,so why wont they call us back? This is not ok with me and very frustrating.

Dr Hoffman is a great doctor but unfortunately his front office is not so great. They hang up on you, dont answer the phones, and dont call back. I took my business elsewhere years ago due to this but had a family member attempt to contact them last week without success. He finally got through today and they told him they didnt have any opening for today and before he could even ask when they could get him in, they hung up. He tried to call back to see when they had an opening and now nobody answers. Great doctor, horrible customer service.

Have been going there for a few years and quality of care has steadily declined. Keep getting new PA assisnged, seeing the actual doctor is rare. Getting to converse about what your issues might be, well dont expect more than 3 minutes and then they dont actually listen. I walked out on them today and wont be back!!

If I could give them 0 stars I would... Jennifer Proffitt has a HORRIBLE bedside manor. She accused me of lying and taking something into the restroom to manipulate my drug test. After she SEARCHED ME she saw I had nothing to hide. My drug test came back showing I had not been abusing any illegal substances and she still decided to discontinue prescribing me my medications after proving I had not been using any illegal substances. I would not take my dog to this doctors office. Totally unprofessional and they treat you like you are a criminal. DO NOT USE THEM, ESPECIALLY JENNIFER PROFFITT.

I have had a terrible experience with this practice. Calls are not returned after multiple attempts to get questions answered and reassurance that I would receive a same day call back on multiple occasions. I was misled regarding what my insurance would cover. Ive had great difficulty getting a prescription filled and was told I would need an appointment even though I had an annual exam 8 months prior. I am becoming increasingly frustrated with their lack of communication and have reached out multiple times.

I made an appointment showed up to only be told I had to pay $140 copay or I would not be seen. I just needed to refill my BP medicine. I told the receptionist that my insurance states $0 copay. She argued with me then asked the office manager and they refused to see me without payment upfront and informed me that I owed way more than what they were asking for upfront. I havent been back as I informed them of this & wont be back ever. Im in the medical field and I know insurance etc! Worst front staff I have ever had to deal with. Like most companies, all about the ole mighty dollar!!!

Frankly, the staff has terrible communication and poor customer service. Not to bore you with a long story, but essentially it boils down to the staff does not really care about their patients. Everyone from the front desk help to the office manager and the nurse did not care. AJ, in particular, was not helpful nor was she able to answer any questions we had. I would recommend seeking another office for medical assistance.

I absolutely love Dr. Hoffman and the staff. Ive never had an issue getting in. Lately Ive been having issues getting called back but that was a NP who messed up on that. The front and back office have been nothing but kind.. I dont care for all of the nurse practitioners but luckily theres plenty of options.

BEWARE of EVERY LITTLE thing they do in the office.Over the past few years, Ive had nothing but great experiences at HFPA. They are almost always on time and everyone who works there has always been very kind. However, one of the things I use to love about them was that they were open on Saturdays which changed a little while back. Ill also agree that I have NEVER, in many years, seen Dr. Hoffman - I dont even know who he is - and I have always seen PAs. But those PAs were always very knowledgeable and nice. All things considered I do not know if I will visit HFPA again or not because they are one of the few places that at least seem to do a decent job and are very respectful of a persons time. However, I wanted to post a warning to beware of every thing they do in the office - let me explain.I have horrible teacher insurance, and it costs me a fortune to go to the doctor, so when I go, its because I am out of other options, and I am very careful about how much it will cost me. Back in January, I was sick with the flu for almost a week and then wrapped that up with a sinus infection, which is the reason i went to the doctor finally. I called ahead and knew that it was going to cost me about $150 to come in, so I was sadly prepared for that charge. While I was in the patient room, they asked if I wanted a steroid shot to help get me better, and I agreed to that, and when I left, they even asked me if I wanted to go ahead and pay for that (I KNEW thatd be extra) or if I just wanted them to bill me. However, also while I was in the office, I was TOLD (not asked) that they were going to go ahead and do a flu swab (which I had no idea would be an additional charge), and so when my bill came, theyd charged my insurance $53 TWICE for that! :( I called in to dispute the charge, and they said that f course any extras like that would be an extra charge and that if I wanted to dispute it further, Id have to call the billing dept on the bill. I did this and could never get in touch with anyone, so I finally left a VM, and no one ever called me back. I just got one paying the entire bill because they sent it to a collection agency, who basically told me that disputing any part of the bill would go on my credit, and the girl did not act like I had any chance of winning the dispute anyways.Way long story, but in case, you are very careful about doctors and out of pocket expenses, I wanted to at least warn you to ask how much EVERYTHING they suggest will cost! :(

Poor rating for this family practice. This is a questionable medical clinic. Complete staff turnover tells you something is wrong . They cant keep employees at all and that is always an office management issue. Possible HIPPA violations with loud employees in the hall and front desk area. Poor office management and nepotism abound. Very high turnover rate is never good in any office.
