Angelic (I believe that is her name) was extremely nice on the phone and was able to get my grandmother a very prompt follow up visit (next day).I was not present for this visit, which for Dr.Cristol, may have been a good thing. I would NOT have put up with the treatment my grandmother was given. Words, very choice words, would have been spoken. My mother took my grandmother for a follow up to a hospital discharge. They had an over a hour wait in the waiting area, plus extended wait in the patient room. Once they were seen by Dr. Cristol in his office, he stayed on his computer entering information in. Plus had the NERVE to take a 10 minute personal phone call in front of them. He spent less than 5 minutes speaking, mumbling, with my grandmother and was appalled that questions were asked about her blood clot, the location of it, and if it was new or old. When my mother questioned him on it in regards to the location he stated it was ‘very involved’. He wants to see her again in 3 months. She waited at the appointment desk for quite some time and decided to leave. After she stopped at the restroom and was about to walk out of the office, someone finally ran out to give her the information for her follow up. She will not be returning.

Unfortunately I had multiple terrible experiences with Dr. Cristol. He became needlessly defensive and even felt the need to assert his board certification after I asked if we could do any basic tests when hed blown off my concerns related to very high heart rates. I was *not* calling into question his judgment. Indeed I suspected like he that my HR monitor was the problem (though others with the same have not had this problem). I, and many others, had suggested it was worth getting check out with heart issues in the family. This was all after generally poor bedside manner after not introducing himself after a long wait (almost a full hour) and began dictating to his laptop and boasting about how great that is. It was just a very odd way to initiate a patient/physician relationship. Fast forward to an EKG and stress test and blood work before seeing him again (each of these were fine -- he was not involved). On my final visit, I again sat in the waiting room over an hour. Finally a nurse pulled me back (the nurses and front office were always very kind), offered water, checked on me, etc. But after an hour and a half of still waiting to see if hed show up I had to ask for my results before I had to leave.I was referred to this cardiologist. I *hope* these were isolated cases. But he came across as very disrespectful of others time and, I think, assumes too little of his patients.

Good, practical cardiologist. Believes in exercise and the DASH diet.
